fact is the real reason Trump is so popular is because of the internet.
So many alternative news site popped up overnight, like American Thinker, all of which what's called the "Fourth Estate", and is in reality the Pravda media, arrogantly, smugly, and
dismissively called the alternative media the "Pajama Media", and that's now morphed into the 'Fifth Estate" because as more and more
Americans read what was being said they realized just how badly they'd
been lied to by the Pravda Media.
Viewers Abandoned CNN, MSNBC After Election. In the aftermath of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, Fox
News experienced significant gains in viewership. The network captured
62 percent of the overall cable news audience, marking its highest cable
news share to date. On Election Night and during Vice President Kamala

Even the Food Network is doing better than CNN, and Silvio Canto says he understands why, "their chefs and recipes must have more
credibility than the news readers" at these networks.
America is now acutely aware of how badly they've been lied to and have walked away from these networks. Once that happened, they never went
back, and those numbers have increased yearly, until now, Now those numbers
are massive, and to the point the Pravda media, both print and
television, are going down the sewer, and are on the chopping block to
be sold, and soon, probably at fire sale prices, and for two reasons.
Their viewership is
far left and they will not tolerate conservative views being shown, so they
can't change who and what they are to expand their viewership, and very
soon they're going to lose all that lovely, lovely bundling money.
Streaming is going to bankrupt cable. Cable is dying and being taken over by streaming, and when cable dies,
all that lovely, lovely, bundling money will dry up, and worse yet,
their ratings as bad as they were, nosedived after the election. They tried streaming with MSNBC+ and it failed almost overnight, so they know with their message they can't
generate sufficient income on their own. They're toast.
Poor Jim Acosta, a virtual lava flow horsepucky is in a panic over this settlement as he fears getting sued, and if he does, he want's the company to bail him out. It never occurred to them all their lies would constitute "actual malice" under the New York Times V. Sullivan SCOTUS ruling that I think is a disgraceful decision that has absolutely no basis in the Constitution and unleashed onto America corrupt media liars who worked
to destroy the lives of people they disapproved of, and it's time to
end this insanity and force the media to live by the same standards as
the rest of America has to live by.
Then we have the fall of RINO Never Trumpers like Peggy Noonan, who was lauded a lot in years gone by and even then I had no idea why.
I read her stuff, and even at that much younger age, with much less
experience in life, and much less knowledge, I wasn't impressed. I
always came away with the thought I had no idea what she was trying to
say, and neither did she. This piece explains why. She wants it both
ways, always needing an out, always needing an excuse for failure, just
like all the "it's not my fault" leftists they hobnob with.
She's
like so many of these faux conservatives, they like the attention, the
parties, the ability to rub shoulders with prominent leftists of the

warriors. Jonah Goldberg came close and then capitulated. George
Will, Krauthammer, and Bill Kristol, whose father Irving was a communist/socialist at one point and became the "godfather of neoconservatism", which explains a lot about
the views of his son, all of whom had the same problem that
afflicts so many "intellectuals", a sense of elitist privilege.
I've seen this type in
a thousand places and a thousand faces, but they're all the same, they
present a face of arrogance and smugness to hide their inadequacies, and
are totally uncomfortable in the presence of the peasantry as they live in a echo chamber of head nodders.
As has been
quoted so often, "There are liars, there are damn liars, and there are
statistics",. so when you combine a political persuasion notorious for
lies, and can only subsist on lies, a corrupt media that loves those
lies, and pollsters who corruptly know they're lies and yet work to make
lies those truth, we had a public that was been beguiled for decades.
Then
the internet appeared and then, "Shazam" the "Captain
Marvel", alternative media appeared, AKA, the pajama media, now the new "Fifth Estate", which the
Pravda media smugly and arrogantly smirked at. Well, that's over with,
the smirk is gone, the smirking turned into hate mongering, their network
programs are swirling down the drain, and now the corporate Pravda, Fourth Estate media, is irrelevant, and it's clear the new administration is going to open things up that will place the "Fourth Estate" in a back row seat, where they've belonged for decades.

The Samantha Bees, Kathy
Griffins, Keith Olbermanns, Bill Mashers, etc. are offensive in every
sense of the word, but they keep their jobs...............The entire
display was an embarrassment to all Americans. Only the media love this
kind of scandal. They live for, thrive on, this kind of verbal
debauchery. Our media, most of them, are as indecent as Barr, Bee,
Olbermann, Maher, and the rest of them aching for the death of the west....

"Television Academy Honors award for advancing social change", and she was "rewarded with applause" from the audience.
I posted these two "blasts from the past" because I wanted to demonstrate just how vile they've been and for so long, and what they've gotten away with. Now, those days are gone. The Pravda media is despised, vilified, and they're being ignored. They're toast, and they're scared. Their smug haughty arrogance is disappearing, but their outrage will never disappear.

What
boggles my mind is what ever possessed the nitwit leadership at MSNBC to pay her anywhere near that kind of money. Get real, they're talking heads, but the argument is they get
ratings, and ratings generate advertising. Well, maybe they wouldn't
have needed so much advertising if networks hadn't been so stupid paying
nitwits like Rachel Maddow and Chris Wallace obscene amounts of
money.
But, the worm is turning, and streaming is going to take all that lovely, lovely cable bundling money away. The consequence of that? It seems to me both MSNBC and CNN will be sold at fire sale prices, and if that happens it seems to me Whoopie and company will be gone, and they won't be alone in the unemployment line. Now's the time for all these wealthy so-called conservatives to stand and
deliver. Buy them up, turn them around, make them successful, and Elon Musk might actually buy MSNBC. But even if no one buys these networks and fires these vile nitwits, it seems clear they'll be out of a job anyway, because there will be no job.
Greg Gutfeld claims MSNBC now stands for "Must Sell Network Before Christmas". The executives at these networks are running scared, even forcing a co-host on 'The View' to "read fourlegal notes" during the episode on Friday. Something they'd not have done if Trump hadn't won,
nor would they done so in after his 2016 win. This victory changed
all that! This victory was different! They've disgusted the public with
their intellectual corruption, their vileness, their lies, their smug arrogance, and it
"signals the end of the left’s control of the mainstream media [and] advanced the demise of MSNBC and CNN for good reason". And this includes the print media as WaPo fires the senior politics editor.
I'm lumping NBC and MSNBC together because they're part and parcel of the same package, and what we're seeing is a lot of hand wringing and gnashing of teeth now that Trump has been elected.
Chuck Schumer has been disgusting with his a record of lies, vile hate speech, and even threats against
conservative SCOTUS jurists promoting violence. But now, all of sudden, little Chuckie Schumer has had an epiphany.
Now he's all about bipartisanship. "Please don't do to us what we did
to you, let's all be happy and embrace unity." Ya just gotta see the

he's not alone, the media, both print and electronic, are wetting their pants. It turns out someone
at MSNBC has decided those two nitwits, Joe Scarborough and Mika
Brzezinski need to kneel and kiss the ring! Here's whathappened when Crazy Mika and Psycho Joe met with Trump, with Trump saying:

retribution, grandstanding or to destroy people who treated me very

looking to give a second and even third chance, but never willing to

That's a mistake. Napoleon once said never interfere with an enemy when he's making a mistake, and these vile characters deserve no compassion. As J.D. Rucker points out MSNBC is desperate, and terrified because they fear for their continued existence as a network, and rightly so. Now that the norms are back, they
fear the administration will use the DOJ against them, which they
applauded when the Biden administration pushed censorship of all
conservative views. They've worked to destroy the norms, vilified the
norms, and yet want the norms to protect them. Here's a taste of who

MSNBC is garbage,
and NBC turned it into garbage, deliberately, and as a result their
audience is draining faster than they can tell lies, which is really
fast. And along with Joe

This is a severe breach of journalism ethics, and the network heads have
not addressed this payola scandal in any fashion.
Here's the real issue for them, without subscription cable where people were forced to bundle paying for shows they didn't want and never watched, they can't survive....."for nearly a half-century, Hollywood somehow convinced 100
million American households to pay a fortune for TV channels they never
watched......you are
subsidizing hate outlets like CNN and MSNBC. A piece of your monthly
cable bill goes directly into their pockets. CNN could not survive in a
merit-based system. Too few people watch CNN for it to make any real
money from advertising......"
America is abandoning cable for streaming services, and no matter what you may not like about them, it's merit based. You only pay for what you want, and as the author points out the reasons:

As for the print media, they're even in more trouble as newspapers are trying to go out of business as fast as restaurants. Jeff Bezos is shaking up the Washington Post, which one writer described saying he's seen restaurant menus that are bigger, a common trend for all newspapers now. He lost 250,000
subscribers because he wouldn't endorse Kamala, and lost $77
million over this last year, and has been losing tens of millions every year. His solution is to call for more conservative writers. It's too late, his readership are all far left lunatics, they won't stand for it, so he's either going to keep losing tens of millions of dollars every year forever, or close down the newspaper.
The Los Angeles Times refused to endorse Kamala, but not because she's so far left. The owner didn't think she was far left enough, and now the owner is going to fire his editorial board and hire "an all-new editorial board" saying:
"I will work towards making our paper
and media fair and balanced so that all voices are heard and we can
respectfully exchange every American's view."....."Coming soon, a new Editorial Board. Trust in media is critical for a strong democracy."
So what exactly was he saying here? He said he knew his newspaper was blatantly biased, corrupt, totally unconcerned with facts, truth, or reality, and was nothing more that a Pravda media mouth piece for leftist Democrats. This isn't a singular event, it's nationwide, The Dallas Morning News another leftist rag reports they suffered "a
net loss of $3.9 million for its third quarter of 2024"...."compared to the $1.4 million loss in the same period last year", two and a half times, an almost 10% decrease in revenue, and that kind of loss will only grow, because of who and what they are, and their readers won't be coming back.

In the midst of this Chris Wallace has decided to forego his seven million dollar a year salary in order to podcast.

is eager to see what a transformed media environment has to offer, and
neither he or his family want him to retire, and he wants more control
over what he produces, which will be "unbiased". Yeah right! While I'm sure he's more than financially secure, it still comes down to this. If he couldn't carry the freight at CNN, what makes him think he can carry the freight on his own.
Wallace,
who CNN thinks is "one the the most respected political journalists int
he news business" was hired at CNN to be their lead guy at CNN+
streaming service which lasted a month.
One of the things I found interesting is all of a sudden we're seeing
the worm turning on air. In times past they made sure everyone was in
lock step. No on dared dispute the leftist meme of the moment. All over
the Pravda media they played the bully boy making sure no one dared to
defend conservative views, and big tech censored any one who did.
All the panels were rigged, just like The
View with one weak conservative and multiple mouthy leftists who
interrupted and talked over the "conservative", constantly spewing out
red herring fallacies in order to altering the subject at hand.

organizations are interchangeable pieces of the same movement with the
exact same politics who use different brands to appeal to different

The claim some time has been the Main Stream Media, or as I call it the Pravda media, has lost all credibility. The debates sealed that claim. What was the media's biggest beef with J.D. Vance? writer tending to reduce “all political
phenomena .... to caricatures of the personalities", who finds it
“easier to whine than to take a
stand or offer solutions". Her "favorite
rhetorical device is parallelism", which is like a the logical fallacy of
inappropriate comparisons. Claims anyone who opposed abortion suffers
from "mental impairment", and is an unending race baiter, and I think
the real reason she dislikes Vance so much is she identifies as one J.D. Vance's childless cat ladies, just like Kamala Harris, "who
hadn’t procreated.... were “miserable”
and had no “direct stake” in the country", whether she owns a cat or not.
The arrogance of the "stars" of the Pravda Media is beyond the pale, Stephanopoulos says "he will not continue with any interview with a Republican if they
won't concede Joe Biden won in 2020. He won't allow any discussion of voter fraud, or watered down ballot rules. Nitwits like him "think it's journalistic malpractice to do a live interview with President Trump on television." Why? Because if it's live they can't contort what was said as they've done over and over again with taped interviews.
Then we have Morning Joe Scarborough,who has been described as America's Baghdad Bob. You remember Baghdad Bob don't you? He was "Saddam Hussein’s Information Minister,
Mohammed Saeed al-Sahhaf", who '"ludicrously claimed “The infidels are
committing suicide by the hundreds on the gates of Baghdad.” "Americans “are
going to surrender or be burned in their tanks. They will surrender, it
is they who will surrender." The next day Baghdad fell.
Joe Scarborough? At one point, he was considered a
conservative Republican congressman from Florida. Today, he is a
disgraceful fool spouting a never-ending array of talking points for
President Joe Biden on cable news. His credibility as a journalist,
although never very impressive, has completely evaporated. His performances on MSNBC have become so laughable that the
comparisons to “Baghdad Bob” are impossible to ignore.
Scarborough
claims former President Donald Trump was “preparing for civil war.”
What triggered that statement? Well, he quotes Trump saying:
“Those who want to stop us from
achieving this future have slandered me, impeached me, indicted me,
tried to throw me off the ballot. And who knows? Maybe even tried to
kill me.”.....“You know, I always say there is an
enemy from within, and there is an outside enemy. If you are smart, the
outside enemy is not going to be a problem. Russia, China, North Korea,
we are not going to have a problem if you have a smart president. If you
have not such a smart president then it’s a problem. We have an enemy
from within, which I think is much more dangerous than the outside
enemy.”
How does Scarborough define all those true statements? He calls that a stunning level of un-American activity.
“The level of un-American activity that you just
saw is stunning. That is un-American. They know they’re lying. Donald
Trump knows that’s a lie. He will tell you that the Secret Service, he
thought, did the best job they could do. The fact that JD Vance and
Trump’s family would out and out say what they said takes the threat of
violence takes the threat beyond where it was even leading up to January
6. This is an increasingly desperate person, an increasingly desperate
family, who is preparing for civil war. They just are.”
And the list of outrageous statements by Scarborough and his team are listed in the linked artilce, go there and see clearly they're all about "punishing Trump, coddling Biden". And "this is what our media elite considers a well-functioning democracy and apolitical justice", and the reason I call them the Pravda media.
There's no debate or interview that won't be a designed trap to make conservatives look bad, and a lot of that is backfiring as conservatives have given up any idea the media will play fair. They won't, and now people like J.D. Vance are prepared to deal with them, and even challenge them.

their establishment-approved narratives. Labeling everyday Americans as

them accountable. From silencing critical stories like Hunter Biden’s laptop to ridiculing valid concerns about COVID vaccines, the mainstream media has consistently acted as the enforcer of the political machine, not a champion of truth.

the facts came to light, many of the stories they dismissed and
suppressed have been vindicated—exposing not only the media’s bias but
also the lengths they’ll go to discredit those who challenge their

There's so much going on that's so outrageous, so dangerous, and so demented with societies all around the world it's almost become impossible to keep up with it. I've saved untold numbers of articles in drafts on just about ever subject we see in the news. I've files on the attack on Justice Thomas and SCOTUS, the Durham Report, China's war with the world, Russia and the complex relationship with the EU and America, and so on.
At times I find I have so much I can't decide what to write about, which is where I am right now, especially since I have so many tasks outside with my gardens and various summer projects. I'm having time issues, because writing a worthwhile commentary on each and every one of these issues is actually quite time consuming.
I wrote an article about bed bugs and sleeping sickness a number of years ago and it took ten hours, most of that dealt with researching the information as thoroughly as possible. That's the time killer, and then organizing it properly deciding what to use and what to throw away is not only time consuming, it's a bit agonizing. Deciding what's relevant and what's was accurate takes time, and some material is really great but not relevant and has to be painfully discarded, or saved for a future piece.
Also, reviewing a complicated article the next day is important, at least I think it is. After a day has passed you can catch any errors in logic and fact, and any spelling that needs correcting.
So, I'm going to take the easy way out and list pieces that I think are relevant to understanding what's really going on. Let's start with this piece, which I found worth a chuckle or two.

have anything resembling a brain. And you especially don't go into an
open-air drug market, full of dealers and their customers, to talk about
how you'll be ending the fentanyl crisis, putting junkies in
compelled treatment, and shutting the scene down because
"everyone" opposes this activity.
One of the things these leftist nitwits never seem to understand is when you create an unstable society, that society will act unstable, and right now, and they're shocked when all that instability turns on them, and that includes most of San Francisco.
Breed and her foolish fellow leftists leading the nation's major cities have destroyed those cities, and they're not coming back any time soon. Portland, Seattle, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and a host of other major cities run by Democrats are turning into hellholes of drugs and violence. That can't be turned around easily or quickly, and I don't think it can be turned around at all. Here's the trend in Cleveland. I love this town and intend to spend the rest of my life here, but the
fact
remains, some things have changed, dramatically, and it's disturbing.
In 1965 Cleveland's population was 1,875,000. As of July of 2022 it was
361,607. Whites make up only 38% of the population, blacks 47% and are
still granted minority status. Violent crime in Cleveland is 17.4 per
1000. In all of Ohio it's only 3.76 and nationwide it's 4.
That's the pattern nationwide, and much worse in cities like San Francisco. The result? Businesses are leaving and they're not coming back. Large downtown office buildings have huge vacancy rates that makes it impossible to maintain those buildings. With the internet, it's easier and cheaper to permanently move to suburbs or small towns where stupid politicians aren't fouling everything with stupid restrictive regulations and taxes. Who's to blame?

Well, a lot. The nitwit governor of North Carolina has declared a "State of Emergency"! And it's over what? This piece by Nancy Andersen notes this governor loves his veto pen and he loves "State of Emergencies". During this false pandemic he
locked down all the schools and
churches! Put masks on.... students”......and kept the schools closed.
But he knows who butters his bread, and has declared another "State of Emergency", to prevent all those "evil [Republican] legislators from giving parents educational options.
They are killing government schools, because giving
parents options and having our schools compete for excellence is not
fair!" Well, in most states the legislature can overturn these political "States of Emergency" with a simple majority vote. But, we'll see. Oh, yes, one more thing. Where does this governor send his kids?

Janet Yellen has
been screaming about the dire consequences for months if the Biden
administration didn’t get a clean debt ceiling increase. Now she admits
that her department, that pays the bills, hasn't done a thing to
prepare, which shows they aren't worried or don't care.
Let's face it, the left lives on hysteria, lies, corruption, media complicity to keep everyone ignorant and scared. It's not working as easily as it used to because now there's an alternative media, and that media is now becoming more and more preeminent over a corrupt main stream media that's losing viewership and readership in a spectacular fashion, and Fox is an example of that.
The question left to answer is: Can democracy be saved? Given the observations made in this article, the answer is there may will be a civil war on the horizon to save the republic.
FOX News, which last
October marked its 26th anniversary as a cable news channel, has long
been a target for its increasingly leftist competition, CNN and MSNBC.
But now, the Federal Government is jumping on the kill-FOX bandwagon
and making noises about trying to rein in, censor, or even silence the
country’s #1 basic cable television channel.
In recent weeks, FOX News’s
ratings-challenged competition – CNN and MSNBC – have devoted endless
hours to bashing FOX News as an outlier – a fake news channel that
lies, distorts, and serves as an inspiration for violent,
election-denying, white nationalist insurrectionists. CNN and MSNBC have
been joined in this First Amendment-busting crusade by the nation’s
leading mainstream print and online media, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Associated Press, as well as PBS, NPR, the broadcast networks, and too many other broadcast and print/online outlets to mention.
This
campaign against FOX News is nothing new. But the new 2023 rallying cry
is the contents of several recent legal filings by the companies suing
FOX for libel for its coverage of the aftermath of the 2020 election.

If you ever wonder what kind of rulings we might get if the progressive Democrats some day achieve full control of the U.S. Supreme Court, you can try looking to some of the state Supreme Courts that come under Democrat control. One of my favorites is the Supreme Court of North Carolina.
North Carolina is a purple state, and generally tending more to red than blue. But the justices of its state Supreme Court are elected. In 2016, in a nominally “non-partisan” election, the Democrats took control of the Court by a narrow 4-3 majority. Meanwhile both houses of the state legislature have been controlled by Republicans since 2011. The Governor has been a Democrat since 2016.
Before going further, I should mention that after 2016 the Republican legislature amended the election law for court seats to allow candidates to declare party identification. Then there were two elections for Supreme Court justice in November 2022, both involving seats previously held by Democrats. The Republicans won both of those races — likely reflecting voter reaction to the shenanigans of the Court during six years of Democrat control. As of now, the Court has flipped to a 5-2 Republican majority.
With that background, here is the headline from yesterday’s New York Times: “On North Carolina’s Supreme Court, G.O.P. Justices Move to Reconsider Democratic Rulings.” It seems that the newly-constituted North Carolina Supreme Court has wasted no time in granting reconsideration of two major decisions that came down from the prior Court just a few weeks ago. From the Times:
An extraordinary pair of orders by North Carolina’s Republican-controlled Supreme Court is highlighting how the partisan tug of war has pervaded the state’s courts and, by extension, the nation’s. On Friday, the court moved to rehear two major voting rights cases that it had previously decided, one striking down a gerrymandered map of State Senate districts and another nullifying new voter identification requirements.
In The New York Times spin, it’s a group of highly partisan Republicans abusing their judgeships for political gain. Really?
Let’s consider first the case on voter identification requirements. In 2018 North Carolina enacted a requirement for citizens to present valid identification in order to vote. This was not done by statute, but rather by amendment to the North Carolina Constitution. Amending the North Carolina Constitution requires that the proposed amendment be passed by 3/5 majorities of both houses of the legislature, and then go to a referendum of the voters. According to the Carolina Journal here, the voter ID amendment obtained the requisite legislative majorities, and then was passed by the voters in 2018 by a majority of 55.49% — perhaps not a landslide, but also not close. The referendum was state-wide, and therefore inherently not possible to gerrymander.
A case challenging the voter ID amendment came before the Democrat-controlled Supreme Court in August 2022. Now, how exactly are these Supreme Court justices going to get around a voter ID provision that by this time is right there in the state Constitution itself? Actually, it’s not hard if you are a results-oriented progressive. At the time that the voter ID amendment passed the legislature, litigation challenging the 2012 redistricting of the state had been working its way through the state courts for years, and a three-judge state court panel had ruled that the existing districting was a partisan gerrymander, although that issue had not reached the state Supreme Court. So here is an excerpt from the majority opinion of the North Carolina Supreme Court (as quoted in the Carolina Journal):
The issue is whether legislators elected from unconstitutionally racially gerrymandered districts possess unreviewable authority to initiate the process of changing the North Carolina Constitution, including in ways that would allow those same legislators to entrench their own power, insulate themselves from political accountability, or discriminate against the same racial group who were excluded from the democratic process by the unconstitutionally racially gerrymandered districts. . . . We conclude that article I, sections 2 and 3 of the North Carolina Constitution impose limits on these legislators’ authority to initiate the process of amending the constitution under these circumstances.”
And thus the state Supreme Court purported to disregard a provision of the state Constitution that had only recently been passed by a solid majority of the voters. Consider just how extraordinary this ruling was. If the Court was right that it could ignore the constitutional provision on the ground that the legislature that put it before the voters had been improperly constituted, then theoretically the Court could ignore every other enactment of the legislature as well, and just take over running the state. And weren’t all the other provisions of the North Carolina Constitution also adopted in some manner that could be subjected to criticism in hindsight? I’ll bet almost all of the document was written by white male segregationists — and Democrats no less.
The Court’s decision was written by Justice Anita Earls. Here is a picture of Justice Earls, again from the Carolina Journal. Note the crazed look in her eyes. This is a person who clearly knows the required path to perfect justice and fairness!
Also subject to a request for rehearing by the newly-constituted Supreme Court is a December ruling from the prior Court throwing out the 2022 redistricting maps adopted by the legislature for state legislative races. The Times notes that if that decision gets reconsidered, it will also implicate a prior decision from February 2022 invalidating North Carolina’s congressional maps.
[T]he Republican legislative leaders’ [have requested rehearing of] the December gerrymandering ruling — an order by the Democratic justices to redraw a map of State Senate districts. In that request is a much bigger appeal: for the court to overrule, without any rehearing, a landmark ruling last February that newly drawn congressional and state legislative maps were unconstitutional partisan gerrymanders. The ruling led to new maps that probably cost Republicans three or four seats in the U.S. House of Representatives in the November elections. . .
I have no way of knowing if the redistricting maps put forth by the Republican legislature in early 2022 were in the normal run of partisan gerrymandering, versus some extreme version of the art. But I do note that the Times says that these 2022 decisions “established the precedent that partisan gerrymandering in North Carolina violated the State Constitution.”
It’s funny that Democrats controlled the state government essentially without interruption from the Civil War until 2011, and somehow that issue never came up. I guess all of their redistricting must have been perfectly fair. Anyway, I think that the North Carolina voters have been able to decide for themselves who are the ones “politicizing” the state Supreme Court.
Twitter chief Elon Musk named what he believes is the
worst offender in government censorship and it’s an agency most
Americans have likely never heard of before. The Department of State’s Global Engagement Center is a “threat to our democracy,” Musk said on Monday. He
pointed to independent journalist Matt Taibbi's report from January 3
to explain why. In the 12th installment of the Twitter Files, Taibbi
called the GEC the “fledgling analytic/intelligence arms of the State
Department” and said it took a Russian disinformation report to media
and flagged certain accounts as “Russian personas and proxies” based on a
dubious list of criteria.
He goes on to detail how the GEC wanted to “insert themselves” into content moderation on the social media site. ..........To Read More...
It was back in September 2019 that there sprang into the news the story of Hunter Biden and his million-dollar-per-year gig as a board member for Ukrainian energy company Burisma. Hunter’s gig began in April 2014 — shortly after his dad Joe, then sitting VP, took on the role of “point man” as to U.S. policy toward Ukraine. The gig then ran until some time in 2017 — shortly after Joe had left office. It just happened that Burisma had gotten the lion’s share of Ukraine oil and gas lease deals under ousted (and Russia-aligned) President Viktor Yanukovich, and had strong reason to fear prosecution under a new Ukrainian President and chief prosecutor. In early 2016 VP Joe Biden got the new prosecutor fired, and later was caught on tape bragging about it.
Essentially the entire story about these events in the state media since 2019 has been the story of minimization and/or suppression of the facts and their significance. The suppression went to a whole new level a year later, in October 2020, when the New York Post broke the story of a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden that had been abandoned at a computer repair shop in Delaware. This was now just a few weeks before the 2020 election, with Joe Biden the Democratic candidate for President. The laptop contained extensive emails and other documents detailing Hunter’s business dealings in places where his father had major influence on U.S. foreign policy, including not just Ukraine, but also China, Kazakhstan, and other countries, as well as father Joe’s involvement in same.
Promptly, some 50 former U.S. intelligence officials issued a letter stating that the laptop had all the “earmarks” of “a Russian information operation.” The state media adopted that line as gospel. Most shamefully, all of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube (Google) explicitly suppressed the story by either banning any information about it or minimizing its distribution on their platforms.
Well, perhaps the time has finally come when this story can be discussed. Probably the single biggest change has been the takeover of Twitter by Elon Musk. On November 23 a Twitter user with the handle “ALX” called upon Musk to “make public all internal discussions about the decision to censor the @NYPost’s story on Hunter Biden’s laptop before the 2020 Election.” On November 24 (Thanksgiving) Musk responded: “This is necessary to restore public trust.” As of this writing the promised disclosure has not yet occurred. But when it does occur, it could be quite the bombshell.
On November 21, CBS News released the results of an expert analysis it had commissioned as to the contents of the laptop. The conclusion: the contents showed “no evidence of tampering or fabrication.” Thanks, CBS. Funny, but the New York Post had reached that conclusion in October 2020. The Daily Mail had reached that conclusion in March 2021. The New York Times and Washington Post both quietly admitted that the laptop was real in March 2022. Why now, CBS? Perhaps it’s a combination of the election just having passed, the new Republican Congress talking about an investigation, and Musk about to make disclosures that will yet further embarrass any member of the press that continues with the disinformation.
And then there’s this post from March 31, 2022 (occasioned by the belated concessions in the NYT and WaPo), titled “The Rules About Corruption Just Don’t Apply To The Bidens.” Both the Times and WaPo had spun their stories as if the evidence of corruption applied only to Hunter and not to Joe. Here were a few of my comments:
The funny thing is that outside the sole exception of the Biden family, large payments to the children of powerful government officials by those with interests potentially affected by those officials’ actions are universally understood to be corrupt efforts to influence the officials. In cases involving people other than the Bidens, whether the official/parent “personally benefited” from the payments or “knew details” of the transactions are considered completely irrelevant.
I drew the analogy to a federal prosecution of JP Morgan that had taken place in 2016, where the allegation was that JPM had systematically hired children of high Chinese officials in order to gain influence and win deal work.
According to [reporting in] the WSJ, the bank’s idea was that by hiring the offspring of top executives, it would get a leg up in winning investment banking business from those state-controlled firms. The U.S. Justice Department was not amused. There is no mention in the WSJ piece of whether the parents/officials in question either “personally benefited” from the JPM jobs or “knew the details” of the kids’ involvement. But Justice’s position was that the jobs were inherently a corrupt effort to influence the parents. In November 2016 Justice extracted a settlement of $264 million from JPM.
Here’s the quote from the head of the Criminal Division of the Justice Department at the time (this was during the Obama administration!):
“The so-called Sons and Daughters Program was nothing more than bribery by another name,” said Leslie Caldwell, the head of the Justice Department’s criminal division.
Don’t expect the Justice Department to apply the same standard to Joe and Hunter Biden. But at least a little discussion of the subject will be healthy.
The media in America and the western world is filled with partisan hacks who care little for the truth, facts or the consequences of their actions. And in America they've supported every leftist monster of the 20th century, and to be blunt, they share in the blood guilt of the 100 million innocent souls murdered by these socialists. That's especially true of the New York Times, albeit they're not alone.
Communism and fascism are forms of socialism, two sides of the same coil, and equally as murderous, and the media has supported them. She's like so many of these faux conservatives, they like the attention, the parties, the ability to rub shoulders with prominent leftists of the media, presenting themselves as enlightened, but they've never they been warriors. Jonah Goldberg came close and then capitulated. George Will, Krauthammer, and Bill Kristol, whose father Irving was a communist/socialist at one point and became the "godfather of neoconservatism", which explains a lot about the views of his son, all of whom had the same problem that afflicts so many "intellectuals", a sense of elitist privilege.
I've seen this type in a thousand places and a thousand faces, but they're all the same, they present a face of arrogance and smugness to hide their inadequacies, and are totally uncomfortable in the presence of the peasantry as they live in a echo chamber of head nodders.
