Another week has flown, and a friend recently sent me a picture of a T-Shirt that had a saying about how when we're young we wished we were older. Then when we got there is wasn't what we'd hoped for.  For those of us who are really older, that's more than true. 

When this insane pandemic hysteria afflicted the nation wearing a mask became a big deal, which I simply refused to do when I could avoid it.  don't work!!! Okay, so get over it.  At any rate I refused to go to meet my newly assigned doctor, get my eyes tested again, and get a hearing aid because of this insane masking.  

Well, at it's turns out I'm working really hard to go deaf, and my eyes aren't what they were and when my doctor retired a few years ago, I never went to who is now my current doctor because I refused to wear a mask, and it all became a kind of pattern of complacency.   But when you get old, reality has the tendency to give you a really good smack in the mouth to get your attention, then we have to accept that reality.  So, I decided to get over this complacency and made appoints for all of the above.

I know, I know, you're asking, who cares?  What's that have to do with anything?  Bear with me, because this is all about life, and all aspects of life are all about patterns, reality, truth and time. 

I find it disheartening at the social destruction of America we're now facing, and I have serious concerns all this may be unfixable.  No matter what leftist narrative the media may spew out, or leftist insanity that's the thought of the moment, there's always reality.  Reality, like truth, can be ignored, it can be twisted, it can be vilified, it can be fought against, but it can't be changed.  Reality, truth and time are on the same side.  And time eventually brings humanity to the

Truth is the sublime convergence of history and reality.  Everything we're told has a historical structure and context.  Everything we're told should bear some resemblance to what we  see going on in reality.  If what's presented to us fails in either category; it's wrong.  All that's left to do is develop the intellectual response to explain why it's wrong.

No matter how many times they tout the idea we can alter our climate decades out, I think it well to remember we can't control natural phenomena like El NiƱo, which we know about and witness on a recurring basis.  If that's so, and it is, why would we think they can control events that have not taken place, have no idea if they can or will take place, and speculate over potentials history simply does not support?  They ignore things they know because they're inconvenient, and they make up the things they don't know. 

I keep coming back to this.  What's the Earth's temperature supposed to be?  They have no answer.  A thousand years ago during the Medieval Warming Period it was substantially warmer than it is now, as it was eight hundred years before that during the Roman Warming Period.  So then, there's a question we really need to ask, which is:  During those much warmer periods did any of the disasters they're predicting for today occur then?  

There's absolutely nothing in the historical record to show warming caused any disasters, and in point of fact, humanity prospered during those times.  If that's so, and it is, if the planet was going through a warming cycle, why shouldn't we expect to prosper now as well?  That's history, and that history is incontestable. That's the reality we need to accept. Here's another reality we're most likely going to have to accept.  I believe there is a good possibility we're heading into another "solar minimum".  The explanation for that is in today's edition. 

Yet, according to these leftist misfits we "have" to save the world from catastrophic climate change, and in order to do that we must destroy our economy with suicidal ESG investments, destroy our ability to feed ourselves, and abandon any rational concept of energy production, and accept serfdom.   All of these leftist schemes are actually one scheme.  Destroy America by attacking the fundamental values that made America great.  

So much blood has been spilled, so much pain has been endured, so much has been lost, and now in the end, there may be so little to show for it for our children and grandchildren.  We're losing everything, and so many have been made to believe all this leftist insanity is right and necessary.  Whether it's environmental scaremongering, pandemic scare mongering, or social and economic destruction, the nation, and the world, are walking straight into the dystopic leftist future being planned and imposed on humanity by a tyrannical and corrupt elite.  However, we have to understand this one all important fact. 

It can only happen if America no longer exists.  

That's the reality everyone needs to grasp, and that reality is a religious battle, a battle of faith.  The battle against leftist faith! And what's leftist faith? "The Lord our God is one God", and the state will be that God, and everyone will bend the knee, or else.  That's leftism.  An evil religious movement that's an irrational, misanthropic, morally defective neo-pagan secular atheistic religious movement that in no way can abide things that are decent, pure and good.   Starting with the French Revolution we have 235 years of history to substantiate that statement, and that history is incontestable. 

Make no mistake, global warming is a 'leftist faith based initiative', and ranks at the top of scientific corruption and fraud.  So, I would like to start today's issue with this article by James Marusek, which  I posted in 2009, There are two paths ahead; each marked with a “Danger” signpost.

There are two paths ahead; each marked with a “Danger” signpost

The sun has gone very quiet as it transitions to Solar Cycle 24. The Ap index is a proxy measurement for the intensity of solar magnetic activity as it alters the geomagnetic field on Earth. Anthony Watts (meteorologist) referred to it as the common yardstick for solar magnetic activity. The Ap index for February and for March is "5" a slight uptick from the three consecutive months of "4's" (November 2008 - January 2009). An Ap index of "4" is the lowest recorded number since measurements began in January 1932. This solar minimum has a long ways to go before it can be declared officially over.

As of the end of March, the cumulative number of spotless days (days without sunspots) is now at 586 days. The transitions into Solar Cycles (SC16-23), referred to as recent solar cycles minimums, averaged 362 cumulative spotless days. Those minimums ranged from 227 - 568 spotless days. Since the current transition now exceeds 568 spotless days, it is becoming clear that sun has undergone a state change. It is now evident that the Grand Maxima state that has persisted during most of the 20th century has come to an abrupt end.

The old solar cycles (SC 10-15) averaged 797 spotless days, over twice that of the recent solar cycles. Those solar minimums ranged from 406 - 1028 spotless days.

An increase in the number of cumulative spotless days during a solar minimum correlates to a reduction in the number of sunspots over the entire solar cycle. The old solar cycles overall produced 38% fewer sunspots than the recent solar cycles.
We are now at a crossroad. Two paths lie before us. Both are marked with a signpost that reads “Danger”! Down one path lies monstrous solar storms. Down the other path lies several decades of crushing cold temperatures and global famine.

If either of these threats materializes, this nation will be hit blind-sighted. Both are related to the current state of the sun. The sun has been in a “Grand Maxima” for most of the past century. This has accounted for much of the natural warming the earth has experienced. But as evident in this solar minimum, the sun is changing states. It might (1) revert to the old solar cycles or (2) the sun might go even quieter into a “Dalton Minimum” or a Grand Minima such as the “Maunder Minimum”. It is still a little early to predict which way it will swing. Each of these two possibilities holds a great threat to our nation.

(1) Reverting to the “Old” Cycles (Solar Cycles 10-15)

Since the old solar cycles produced fewer sunspots, one might draw the conclusion that we will be entering a period of reduced solar storms. But this is not true. It is quite the opposite. The old solar cycles produced very intense solar storms. The greatest solar storm in modern time known as the Carrington flare of 1-2 September 1859 occurred in Solar Cycle 10. In addition to the Carrington flare, several other massive solar storms occurred during the old solar cycles. These massive solar storms occurred on 12 October 1859, 4 February 1872, 17-18 November 1882, 30 March 1894, 31 October 1903, 25 September 1909 and 13-16 May 1921. How can this be? This is because the old solar cycles produced massive sunspots. It was like the magnetic field energy was still there and had to still be released but during a shorter time interval, so the sunspots exploded in size and power.

If a solar storm of the magnitude of the Carrington flare were to occur today, the effect on our modern technologically dependent society would be grave. Of these, the greatest threat would lie in the loss of stable electrical power. A massive solar storm could destroy many of the large custom Extra High Voltage (EHV) powert ransformer in the United States. These items are unique, costly (around $10 million each) and have manufacture lead time of a year or more for replacement. in Solar Storm Threat Analysis. I also laid out a civil defense plan for major solar storms called The Solar Storm Disaster Preparedness Plan. In 2008, the National Research Council took up the subject holding a public workshop to define the solar storm threat. Their finding (which mirrored mine) were published in a report titled Severe Space Weather Events Understanding Societal and Economic Impacts. In their findings, their bottom line was if a massive solar storm struck the United States today “it would result in large-scale blackouts affecting more than 130 million people and would expose more than 350 major transformers to the risk of permanent damage”. Imagine the effect of a total power blackout for months/years on 100 million people in the U.S. along with many millions across the globe. The report then goes on to say “Historically large storms have a potential to cause power grid blackouts and transformer damage of unprecedented proportions, long-term blackouts, and lengthy restoration times, and chronic shortages for multiple years are possible.”
(2) The Sun slipping quietly towards a Dalton Minimum or even a Grand Minima such as a Maunder Minimum.

Climate change is primarily driven by nature. It has been true in the days of my father and his father and all those that came before us. Because of science, not junk science, we have slowly uncovered some of the fundamental mysteries of nature. Our Milky Way galaxy is awash with cosmic rays. These are high speed charged particles that originate from exploding stars. Because they are charged, their travel is strongly influenced by magnetic fields. Our sun produces a magnetic field wrapped in the solar winds that extends to the edges of our solar system.

This field deflects many of the cosmic rays away from Earth. But when the sun goes quiet(minimal sunspots), this field collapses inward allowing high energy cosmic rays to penetrate deeper into our solar system. As a result, far greater numbers collide with Earth and penetrate down into the lower atmosphere where they ionize small particles of moisture (humidity) forming them into water droplets that become clouds. Low level clouds reflect sunlight back into space. An increase in Earth's cloud cover produce a global drop in temperature.

If the sun becomes quieter than the old solar cycles, producing more than 1028 spotless days,then we might slip into a Dalton Minimum or maybe even a Grand Minima such as the Maunder Minimum. This solar state will last for decades. Several solar scientist have predicted this will begin in Solar Cycle 25, about a decade from now. But a few have predicted this will occur now in Solar Cycle 24. A quiet sun will cause temperatures globally to take a nose-dive. We will experience temperatures that we have not seen in over 200 years, during the time of the early pioneers.

Temperatures are already falling. Satellites provide generally the most accurate atmospheric temperature measurements covering the entire globe. From the peak year 1998, the lower Troposphere temperatures globally have fallen around 1/2 degree Celsius due to the quiet sun. This is despite the fact that during that same time period, atmospheric carbon dioxide (at Mauna Loa) has risen 5% from 367 ppm to 386 ppm. The main threat from a “Dalton Minimum” or “Maunder Minimum” event is famine and starvation (affecting millions or hundreds of millions worldwide) due to shortened growing seasons and harsher weather. In the past, in addition to great famines, this cold harsh weather has also lead to major epidemics.

Evidence of the Mississippi River, Ohio River, Allegheny River, Delaware River and Hudson River freezing and of very harsh winters.

Recent periods of quiet sun were the Dalton Minimum (1790-1830 A.D.), the Maunder Minimum (1645-1715 A.D.) and the Spƶrer Minimum (1420 to 1570 A.D.). The Maunder Minimum and Spƶrer Minimum were solar Grand Minima and each were individually referred to as the Little Ice Age.

In the spring Eliza, a slave, carrying her young son, fled from Kentucky by crossing the Ohio River on foot. The river was “swollen and turbulent, great cakes of floating ice were swinging heavily to and fro in the turbid waters.” She leaped from one chunk of ice to the next until she reached freedom on the Ohio shore. During the Dalton Minimum 

The Hudson River at the New York Harbor froze, enabling people to walk across the ice from Manhattan to Staten Island. The Hudson froze over completely during particularly brutal winter of 1779/1780, when the surface was solid for five weeks straight and the British rolled cannons over the ice. In 1821, taverns were constructed in the middle of the river to offer warmth and refreshment to pedestrians. 

During the Dalton Minimum 

Early settlers routinely waited till winter to cross the frozen Mississippi river in their wagon trains. In 1799, George Frederick Bollinger led a group of early pioneers from North Carolina to establish early settlements in Missouri. They hoped to cross their largest obstacle, the Mississippi River, on the ice, frozen solid in mid-winter. They arrived on the east bank of the Mississippi river opposite St. Genevieve in late December, pitched camp and explored potential river crossings. St. Genevieve is located about a hundred miles downstream from St. Louis. Daily the thickness of the ice was measured and then on December 31, a chopped hole in the ice indicated thickness well over two feet. The next day the settlers successfully drove their heavy loaded wagons across the river. During the Dalton Minimum 

From 1803 to 1806, Captains Lewis and Clark lead a transcontinental expedition to explore the greater Northwest. During the winter of 1804/1805, the explorers set up a winter base camp near the Big Knife River near what is today the town of Bismarck, North Dakota. The winter was bitterly cold. There were 6 days with temperatures of -30oF or lower. These occurred in 1804 on December 12 (-38 degrees F), December 17 (-45 degrees F), December 18 (-32 degrees F), in 1805 on January 10 (-40 degrees F), January 11 (-38 degrees F), and January 13 (-34 degrees F). Compare this to the current low temperatures of Bismarck, North Dakota in which only one day in the past decade fell below -30 degrees F. On January 15, 2009 the temperature fell to -44 degrees F. Between the Dalton Minimum and the Maunder Minimum 

December 1776 was a desperate time for George Washington and the American Revolution. During the night of December 25, Washington led his small Continental army of 2,400 troops from Pennsylvania across the Delaware River made dangerous and barely navigable by huge chunks of ice. Once across they launched a surprise attack on the Britain's Hessian mercenaries at Trenton, New Jersey, capturing 1,000 prisoners and seizing muskets, powder, and artillery. 

Between the Dalton Minimum and the Maunder Minimum 

In Boston, Massachusetts on February 22, 1772, Anna, a young school girl, writes in her diary “Since about the middle of December, we have had till this week, a series of cold and stormy weather - every snow storm (of which we have had abundance) except the first, ended with rain, by which means the snow was so hardened that the strong gales at northwest soon turned it, and all above ground to ice.” In some streets about town this mixture of ice and snow is 5 feet thick. On March 11, she writes that the snow is now 7 feet deep in some places around her house[Source: “Diary of a Boston School Girl” written by Anna Green Winslow from 1771-1773, edited by Alice Morse Earle in 1894.]  

Between the Dalton Minimum and the Maunder Minimum 

Just before the opening battles of the French and Indian War in December 1753, George Washington, then 21 years old, crossed the Allegheny River. In their first attempt, Washington and a guide used a raft to cross the ice-choked river and this ended in disaster as Washington was knocked overboard in deep water and saved himself only by catching the raft as it swept by. The severe cold that night froze their clothes and the guide's fingers. The river also froze, however, allowing them to walk across on the ice the next morning. Soon they reached the safety of an English trader's settlement.

During the Maunder Minimum 

During the Great Frost of (1683–1684) in England, the River Thames was completely frozen for two months, the ice was 11 inches thick at London. Sea ice was reported along the coasts of southeast England, and ice prevented the use of many harbors. The sea froze, so that ice formed for a time between Dover and Calais, joining England and France. The Thames was recorded to have frozen over at London during the years: 1649, 1655, 1663, 1666, 1667, 1684, 1695, 1709, and 1716.
During the Little Ice Age, growing seasons in England and Continental Europe generally became short and unreliable, which led to shortages and famine. These hardships were nothing compared to the more northerly countries: Glaciers advanced rapidly in Greenland, Iceland, Scandinavia and North America, making vast tracts of land uninhabitable. The Arctic pack ice extended so far south that several reports describe Eskimos landing their kayaks in Scotland. FinlandŹ¼s population fell by one third, IcelandŹ¼s by half, the Viking colonies in Greenland were abandoned altogether, as were many Inuit communities.

During the Spƶrer Minimum  

By 1518, early explorers made significant progress in probing and surveying the New World. They described North America as a “land of frozen seas, horrid, barren and scarcely habitable for cold”. “In the New World, cold predominates. The rigor of the frigid zone extends over half of those regions which should be temperate by their position. Countries where the grape and the fig should ripen, are buried under snow one half of the year; and lands situated in the same parallel with the most fertile and best cultivated provinces in Europe, are chilled with perpetual frosts, which almost destroy the power of vegetation.” [Source: The History of the Discovery and Settlement of America by William Robertson, 1826]

Daniel Greenfield Unleashed

Daniel Greenfield touches every base with it comes to the issues facing the nation, and the world, and does so with indisputable facts, history, logic and conclusions that are hard to disagree with.  The Afghanistan pull out was a disaster in planning and a massive and disgusting disaster of character.  I served, and I despised the officers.  I still despise the officers.  This disgusting Afghanistan pull out is in my opinion a classic of example of why they deserved to be despised, and what's worse, everything they did actually exacerbated Jihadi actions, the world is laughing at America, and the nations of the world are abandoning Biden, and if he, or someone like him, is elected in 2024, America will be lost.   

Racism is rampant in America, and it's all on the side of black racists who are running out of control and the two Obama administration terms, and now the third Obama term, AKA, Biden administration is totally responsible for all of that.  We're now seeing backlash over Hollywood "racewashing" characters in this latest Cleopatra movie, but this isn't new.  Years ago there was a Robin Hood show with a black Guinevere.  Why is that acceptable? If it were in reverse the media and leftist race hustlers would be screaming to high heaven.  

I've decided to start this edition of Daniel Greenfield Unleashed with this piece, although out of order of publication, I think it's foundational to everything Daniel says.   So, let me ask, what's wrong with this picture?  The baby is white and was murdered by two black teens.  If this baby had been black and murdered by two white teens this would be 24/7 hysteria, riots, and demands for their immediate execution.  But in this case.....since this child is white, this child's death is "merely" a misdemeanor.  

 

Chicago Soros DA Treats Killing of 6-Month-Old Baby as a Misdemeanor "He suggested that we put balloons, because they'll be the only balloons that he'll ever receive."   Soros DA Kim Foxx is committed to social justice and ending mass incarceration. What that means is that killing a baby is a misdemeanor and not just at the offices of Planned Parenthood. Two teenage boys are facing only misdemeanor charges after they allegedly stole a car and crashed it into another vehicle, killing a 6-month-old baby in Chicago last week. The 6-month-old boy, Cristian Uvidia, died in the hospital following the crash. As of Sunday evening, a Chicago police spokesperson said no further charges have been brought against the teen boys. Rivera called the misdemeanor charges “disheartening” in an interview with Fox 32 Chicago. People are now asking the Soros DA to have something resembling human feelings in place of her racist black nationalism and fervent love for criminals and actually do her damn job. For once............

AOC, Under Ethics Investigation, Demands Justice Thomas Resign - "His reputation is unsalvageable."  Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez wasn’t around for Round 1. It’s understandable that she doesn’t remember how Justice Clarence Thomas stood strong during the Anita Hill smear campaign. But Sen. Ed Markey was around. Like Biden, he’s just forgotten.  Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) on Monday called for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to resign amid controversy over the justice’s financial disclosures and ethical concerns about the nation’s highest court.  “I will say what needs to be said: Clarence Thomas should resign from the Supreme Court of the United States. His reputation is unsalvageable,” Markey said at an event to advocate for Supreme Court reforms.  Famous last words...............

San Francisco Surrenders to Conservative States - San Francisco will no longer boycott 30 states that passed conservative laws.  California is infamous for a lot of nuttery. One of the more unique government examples may be the state’s boycott of any state that protects religious freedom or in any way dissents from the radical leftist agenda. The city of San Francisco was boycotting the majority of the United States — 28 states that did not pass the city’s criterion regarding anti-LGBTQ laws, anti-abortion laws, or restrictive election laws disproportionately affecting people of color. In the intervening seven months, that tally has grown: The city presently cannot contract with businesses headquartered in 30 states, nor can city employees visit those states on official business. Money is tighter these days and San Francisco was losing money because of its boycott of America...........

Syrian Refugees Busted Plotting Suicide Bombing in Germany - "To blow himself up" and "take as many infidels as possible with him" - The acceptance of the massive Muslim migrant flood into Europe was a case of the region, and especially Germany, committing voluntary suicide. Wir Schaffen Das was criminal madness lubricated by a torrent of lies that denied that the migrants could possibly pose a terrorist threat. But the threat only keeps on growing.............Reports are that the men arrived in 2015 around the peak of the migrant invasion................

UK Evacuating Brits from Sudan, Biden Refuses to Evac Americans - “It is not our standard procedure to evacuate American citizens."  Once again the UK and European countries are evacuating their citizens from Sudan while Biden, just as in Afghanistan, tells Americans to go pound sand and his media lackeys assure us that this is completely normal. As the violent struggle for power over Sudan reaches the one-week mark, the Biden administration is sticking firmly to its warning for private citizens: don’t expect to be rescued. While the administration says it is working towards evacuating American embassy staff still stranded in the country, it makes no promises about other Americans who could get let behind. Unless they’re druggie woke lesbian WNBA players. Otherwise they’re on their own. And yet the UK is evacuating its citizens.

NYU Prof Denounces ‘Venus de Milo’ as White Supremacist. It is made out of white marble so it must be racist. We don’t know exactly who broke the Venus de Milo, but we know who will break it now if they get the chance. The same leftists who tore down statues in America and vandalized European paintings. Now they’re accusing the famous armless statue of white supremacy. It is made out of white marble after all. NYU professor Nicholas Mirzoeff has written a book, White Sight: Visual Politics and Practices of Whiteness, explaining that “classic works of art, face masks, or drones”, “cultural icons such as sculptures of Apollo Belvedere and Venus de Milo” and “Confederate monuments” were all propping up ‘whiteness’..............

Biden Flees Sudan, Leaves Americans Behind Again - In Afghanistan, the British and French took the lead in getting their people out while Biden’s generals yelled at them to stop rescuing their people because it made them look bad. An American convoy came under fire in Sudan. France and Italy are evacuating their citizens. The Democrat surrender monkeys in D.C. have a familiar message. “Sorry you guys, you’re on your own. What do you think we’re a great power or something?”..........

The Religion of the Left

That they hate is us clear. But why do they hate us? And why are they so crazy? It’s their religion. While based on Christianity, what they have is bent and twisted. Let us compare their “version” to the real one.  The Great Commandment of the New Testament, taken from the Old, is “Thou shalt love God with all thy heart and mind, and thy neighbor as thyself.” This is a personal command, directed at each individual person. It should be, because our worth is judged individually, and our salvation is gained on the basis of individual merit.

What if someone messed with the Great Commandment, “just a little”? They did. The “Great” Imperative is: “We shall love God with all our hearts and minds, and our neighbors as ourselves.”  Instead of the individual being the focus, the operand, of the commandment, now it’s the collective. Worth is now assessed collectively, and salvation is gained collectively.......... 

Hide their existence. Quite like what is said of the devil, that his best trick was to convince many that he did not exist. It was a good trick the Left had. Mouthing what seemed at first to be consonant with the American way, they were able to work across decades and to such effect that we hardly knew what hit us or how this great U.S. of A. became so changed and nearly lost.

Which is precisely why they abhor Donald J. Trump.  For until the coming of the Donald, they had not only a secret religion, but a secret state religion. A secret state religion that was and is against everything America stood for...............To Read More....

So you can be charged with homicide; A doctor can diagnose you with climate change; and you can now have climate as a cause of death on your death certificate. 

I'm not making any of this up. This is in our academic mainstream now. Of course, the last hundred years of climate change has at a 99% drop in climate-related deaths. Now, the Biden Administration is pushing the U.S. into a WHO pandemic treaty where it won't matter who your Governor is, who your mayor is, this will be pushing Global instant lockdowns."

Earth Day is Killing Us

Grouches complain that a lot of fake holidays are created by companies, but Earth Day is actually a fake holiday created by a sharp Madison Avenue ad agency, and the name comes to us from the same guy who coined, “Timex: It takes a licking and keeps on ticking".The Earth takes a licking much better than Timex watches, but it’s the job of ad agencies to convince us that consumer products are permanent, while the world is ephemeral.

Madison Avenue supplied the name, but Senator Gaylord Nelson, the eugenicist Democrat, had come up with the idea for the event. Gaylord’s Earth Day kickoff hit a bump when Indians showed up and threw garbage on the stage to protest his environmental plan to seize their land for a national park. But the media excised this inconvenient truth from Earth Day history.

Real inconvenient truths don’t appear in Al Gore’s documentaries.

It was 1970. Nixon’s Vietnamization was underway and the Left, sensing that its antiwar protests had a limited future, was looking to build a new movement. The idea came from Gaylord, the name came from Madison Avenue, but the culture war needed young radicals to organize, show up, protest, and tell their parents that they wanted Democrats running America forever.

That’s where Ira Einhorn, a young radical, who co-founded Earth Day and acted as the master of ceremonies at its first rally, came in. Einhorn had started out as an anti-war activist, but like Gaylord and other Democrats, he could see that the anti-war publicity machine was going away.

Everyone from politicians to ad agencies to aspiring gurus like Einhorn was looking for the next big cultural phenomenon that would speak to the narcissism of the luckiest generation in history. Einhorn realized that civil rights and anti-war rallies were getting old. The future was a new environmentalism that would make the old environmentalist eugenics look cool and hip.

Einhorn ended up committing totally by killing his girlfriend and composting her body. Then he fled to Europe where the same lefty activist network went on protecting him from prison.

Happy Earth Day.

Earth Day didn’t do anything for the environment except make a huge mess. Parade floats filled with garbage were used to warn about pollution. Students chalked messages on the street. Everyone drove out in cars for Earth Day to warn about the dangers of driving cars.

Gaylord’s Earth Day speech was revealing of what environmentalism was and wasn’t.

"Environment is all of America and its problems. It is rats in the ghetto. It is a hungry child in a land of affluence. It is housing that is not worthy of the name; neighborhoods not fit to inhabit. Environment is a problem perpetuated by the expenditure of billions a year on the Vietnam War," Gaylord rambled.

Environmentalism was everything and nothing. It was every Democrat agenda rolled into one. It was the welfare state and the anti-war movement.

If the Democrats were going to run on it, then it was environmentalism.

And if they weren’t, then it wasn’t.

At no time in his speech did Gaylord address any actual environmental problem. Instead he focused on urban blight, caused by his own party, and shamed Americans for their prosperity.

“Our goal is a new American ethic that sets new standards for progress, emphasizing human dignity and well being rather than an endless parade of technology that produces more gadgets, more waste, more pollution,” Gaylord insisted, invoking the faux spirituality already in vogue.

Finally he declared an "environmental war" to save America's cities that would only take "$20 to $25 billion more a year in federal money than we are spending or asking for now."

Joe Biden, who first ran for office that year, wants to spend $174 billion on just electric cars.

The endless war on the environment is starting to cost more than any actual war.

Billions have been spent with little to show for it except more cash in the pockets of environmentalist Democrats like Al Gore who built a $300 million fortune with his advocacy.

The planet is no better and no worse off since 1970. The same isn’t true of America.

In 1970, 62% of aggregate income went to the middle class. Today it's only 29%. The winners of the environmental economic war on Americans were the upper crust Earth Day crowd.

There are more gadgets than ever, but fewer Americans can afford them.

Environmentalist policies helped push jobs out to China while leaving American cities and towns barren. There are more rats in the ghettos and housing not worthy of its name than ever before.

The current big objective of the environmentalist movement and the Biden administration is to crush coal while taking another huge bite out of the remnants of the American middle class.

“Secretary Kerry trying to equate the job of an electrician in a coal mine who makes $110,000 to a solar tech, who might make $35,000 to $40,000, is not a good analogy for our state," Senator Shelley Moore Capito argued.

But it’s a great analogy if you’re trying to turn more of the middle class into the lower class.

Jimmy Carter made Denis Hayes, a key organizer of Earth Day, the director of the Federal Solar Energy Research Institute. Hayes had an undergraduate degree in history from Stanford. Despite never having a degree in anything science related, he became a visiting professor at Stanford's School of Engineering and the CEO of Earth Day. He remains a board member of Earth Day alongside such notables as the President of Finland, the head of the Wells Fargo Foundation, and a woman whose bio lists her as an “internationally renowned chef.”

The Earth Day store offers "premium organic" t-shirts urging "Make Every Day Earth Day" for $28 bucks "Far out, man! This classic tie-dye T-shirt is bringing the 60’s back in style," the ad copy declares. The details mention that the actual fabric is imported. You can guess from where.

The same goes for the rest of the expensive junk in the Earth Day store.

In 1970, there were 18 million manufacturing jobs in the United States. Today there are 12 million and that’s after a period of record growth under President Trump.

China has built a manufacturing empire. It happily celebrates Earth Day because every advent of the fake Madison Avenue headline means more American jobs and dollars headed its way.

Earth Day, according to Senator Gaylord Nelson, was supposed to address poverty in America. Instead Earth Day has been the biggest machine for creating poverty, hunger, and misery in America. Environmentalism didn’t fight poverty, it spread it, trading American jobs and social mobility for the smugness of upper class students seeking a new political fight after Vietnam.

As much as the anti-war movement hurt America, the environmental movement did worse.

Almost as many Americans kill themselves in one year as died in the entire Vietnam War. The suicide rate shot up 35% in the last twenty years.

Losing America was much worse than losing Vietnam.

Every Earth Day comes with the usual recitation of political dogma with which children are indoctrinated before they can even read. On one side are piles of trash and on the other side are whales and polar bears happily dancing arm-in-fluke. The truth is that on one side there are Ivy League colleges and environmentalist think tanks while on the other side there is the Rust Belt, there are millions of Americans without jobs and without hope, and millions more waiting to see if the Biden administration will take away their jobs, their homes, and their futures.

The wages of Earth Day are ‘Love Canals’ all over America with dying towns, workers permanently out of work, dying of meth, committing suicide in unprecedented numbers.

Earth Day is America’s Chernobyl, an environmentalist catastrophe that is killing us. And Earth Day has destroyed more of America than any environmental catastrophe ever could.

It’s time to end the great hoax from Madison Avenue, from a brutal killer and a political hack, before it destroys what’s left of America.

Kill Earth Day before it kills America.
