Rex Murphy: The Attack on Riley Gaines Shows Just How Far Things Have Sunk

Women are women. How’s that for a sentence? A declaration.To say a woman is a woman requires no prefix. It requires no qualifier. No extra start-up syllable. It requires no semantic trickery to take its plain and always-understood sense—its sense since the beginning of time and the discovery of language itself—to try to turn it into something else............Man and woman are two of the most primary, first-learned, lexical understandings of every language the globe has or has had.........

After giving a talk and taking questions on why female athletes should not to be forced to compete with males, as she left the lecture room she was literally ambushed by a mob of trans activists. She was hit twice by a male wearing female clothes, and she was shouted at and screamed at with some of the most vulgar terms. She was barely protected by a few campus police officers as they managed to get her into a side room. The mob then demanded “money” before they would let her leave. Naturally Gaines refused. She was then kept virtually a hostage—remember this is on a university campus, a home of inquiry and debate and civilized human exchange—for a whole three hours.

Here, in her own words from an op-ed for the Daily Mail, Gaines writes:

“Just over one year ago, I wouldn’t have imagined that I’d find myself barricaded inside a classroom in a building on the campus of San Francisco State University.

“Outside the door a violent, racist mob chanted threats against me.“‘Open the door, we want Riley,’ they screamed.“‘Why are you protecting a white woman?’ the mob spit at security.“‘This is vengeance.’“‘You’re protecting a transphobe.’”

What Is Happening in Our Schools?, By Theresa Brown April 17, 2023 - In March 2023, a 10th-grade teacher (and football coach) at Churchill High School in Eugene, Oregon asked students to describe their sexual fantasies in detail in two separate assignments.  One assignment was entitled "With Whom Would You Do It" and featured a spinning wheel labeled with pornographic classifications such as "anal penetration, oral sex, licking of the ear, and kissing."  In the second assignment, students were required to draw three written items from a hat and use them in their "Fantasy Story."  Items included such things as candles, massage oil, feathers, and syrup.  Upon hearing of the assignments, outraged parents appeared at a school board meeting expecting the board to take appropriate action against the teacher.  When the board denied that the assignments had even been given, parents demanded that the entire school board be removed. This story raises a number of important questions.  For example, how is it possible for this situation to occur?  What kind of people are being hired to teach K–12?  Perhaps most importantly, why wasn't the teacher following the school curriculum?.........

Dem Katie Porter Gets Destroyed Following Disgraceful Comments About Riley Gaines Trans Attack - Sarah Arnold  |  April 16, 2023 - Piers Morgan torches Democrat Rep. Katie Porter (D-Calif) after she said she “strongly” disagrees with pro-swimmer Riley Gaines who was attacked and barricaded in a room for nearly three hours by an angry mob of transgender activists.  The heated exchange happened on HBO’s “Real Time” episode with host Bill Maher as the panelists discussed the incident. Porter and Morgan discussed the Bud Light controversy featuring a transgender male on the can and Gaines tying with Lia Thomas, a transgender male allowed to compete in women’s sports.  Porter claimed that sporting bodies should be the ones to determine whether transgender people get to compete against biological males or females.  “But what has she [Gaines] said that is actually wrong?” Morgan questioned.............
