Over recent years we've seen Hollywood celebrities come out and pontificate about things they know nothing about. It's called virtue signaling, and it's not going to change because they live in an arrogant selfish cultural intellectual bubble that's devoid of knowledge, reality, and humility, and no deviation will be tolerated, and that's always been so.
They currently have a serious infection of Trump Derangement Syndrome that slops over to smear conservatives, Christians, traditional Jews, Israel, and of course Republicans in general, spewing out vile invectives, lies and corruption of thought. Robert De Niro exemplifies that definition, and he's not alone by any means.
Hollywood characters have a history of petty meanness. Take Bette Davis and Joan Crawford for example, both of which were major Hollywood stars, and both of which were petty mean women.
A bitter rivalry existed between then that lasted for decades, which some blame on the harsh competition of the studio system, but based on their personal lives, it was based on a failure of character for both. They deliberately attempted to upstage and embarrass each other, which normal people would have laughed off and moved on. During their filming of , What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, Joan Crawford, being married to the CEO of Pepsi, had cases of Pepsi delivered to the set for the crew. Normal people would have viewed that as act of niceness. Not Bette Davis. She retaliated by having a Coke machine installed on the set. There was even a physical action by Bette Davis that required Crawford to get stitches.
Historians keep trying to blame the system, the public, the studios and the men for their unacceptable behavior, but the fact was they were both mean, vain, selfish and spiteful women. As one writer noted:
Their flaws were not just creations of the studio publicity machines; they were deeply embedded in how they treated the people around them. The Personal Toll of Their Spite Beyond their professional rivalry, their mean streaks frequently bled into their personal and family lives:
They treated their children with same meanness and spite as they treated each other, both of whom disinherited their children. The end of their lives were spent alone estranged from their children, still bitter and miserable.
Charles de Gaulle once said even he couldn't keep the French from being French. Well, truth be told given the base morality Hollywood has embraced from it's very beginning, no one can keep Hollywood from being Hollywood. At least up until now. AI may be able to fix Hollywood, because as time goes by more movies and shows will have AI generated characters, and a lot of "celebrities" will be back to parking cars, and waiting tables, instead of sharing their rude, crude, foolish and uninformed views on others and how the world should work.
Does Hollywood suffer from the Trump Derangement Syndrome, or do they suffer from a derangement syndrome all their own? The left not only redefines words to fit their obsession of the day, they make them up, and they’re so ambiguous so they can be redefined at any given time to their advantage.
