American Synagogues Weren't Always Fortresses. I Watched Them Become War Zones.

Anyone who has spent any time in Europe will have become familiar with two types of synagogues

  1. Highly decorative museum pieces that are largely used for tours
  2. Anonymous block fortresses with heavy security, no signage, and no windows that are built to survive a siege.

American synagogues are starting to go that route and I watched it happen. The tragedy is just how much of that is a recent phenomenon.  I can recall the fairly recent transition from casual places of worship to layers of security. Security guards and fortified entrances used to be something you encountered in Europe, now it's becoming frighteningly commonplace in America. Earpieces, guards toting serious weaponry and bulletproof vests are not hard to find anymore. Never mind congregants coming armed and being prepared for the worst.............. 3 comments

Soros DA's Meet Supply Chain Crisis And Make It Worse

Like a Bulgarian car factory, or any area of Soviet economic activity, the wokes have the magical ability to take any separate crises and combine them together into some sort of giant crisis robot through the sheer holistic energy of unintended consequences. Take the supply chain crisis and teachers' unions deciding that they'd rather sit in their pajamas than teach kids.

America's already stressed food supply chains have been hit tremendously hard by the wildly contagious omicron virus variant, leading to increased food shortages, as reported by Bloomberg, which could lead to further price increases and 2020-style scarcity... That’s only become more pronounced in recent weeks, as grocery stores are having increased problems finding and keeping workers, especially as the viral spread is leading to school and daycare closings

Meanwhile, pro-crime DAs who decided to stop prosecuting minor crimes like trespassing, theft, and armed robbery are adding to the supply chain crisis..............3 comments

West Virginia Treasurer Dumps BlackRock Over War on Coal

With Senator Manchin in the spotlight, lefties have eagerly ramped up their war on coal. Now State Treasurer Riley Moore is sending a message to BlackRock over its war on coal.

State Treasurer Riley Moore today announced the Board of Treasury Investments, which manages the state’s roughly $8 billion operating funds, will no longer use a BlackRock Inc. investment fund as part of its banking transactions.  The decision was based on recent reports that BlackRock has urged companies to embrace “net zero” investment strategies that would harm the coal, oil and natural gas industries, while increasing investments in Chinese companies that subvert national interests and damage West Virginia’s manufacturing base and job market.

And there's a twist of the knife.............1 comment

This Headline Connects The Two Great Dem Obsessions In One Stupid Sentence

Churning out clickbait is a mostly thankless task. Remember around 6 years ago when every headline attempted to sell suspense. "This one stupid trick is the reason why we're living this way." But sometimes you have to admire a real work of art. Even if it's folk art, entirely unconscious and unself-conscious of its own glorious absurdity.

"Martin Luther King Jr would have understood that the line connecting Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump runs through Dixie"

Do you really need the name of the author and publication? Or the link? If you do, there's probably something wrong with you.  All you can do is admire the ability of one man somewhere to build a headline connecting the two serial obsessions of the Democrats probably with some nonsense about "authoritarianism" (I could actually read it, but that would spoil the fun)................5 comments
