On June 4, 2024 Silvio Canto, Jr. published this piece, Claudia the scientist, saying:
So Mexico will have its first woman president, granddaughter of Jewish Eastern European immigrants, and she is a scientist. Most importantly, she was supported by the incumbent President Andres Lopez-Obrador. Who is Claudia or "la presidenta"? It depends. People in Mexico City remember her term as mayor of the capital. People outside of Mexico are learning about her. This is a sample of opinions about the new president:.......
I commented twice, first saying:
Like just about everyone else, I know nothing about her. But, given the state of things, there are two words that define her. Climate scientist. Mostly there’s not much science in “climate science”, it’s mostly leftist junk science, lies, speculatory clabber, along with a lot of soothsayering of doom and destruction unless the world gives them total power and control over everyone’s life, has nothing, eats bugs, and likes it, and let China lead the way.
Culture is king, and she’s thrived in a leftist culture. Since history has shown green/leftists have a monopoly on being wrong, and destructive, and that’s the culture she’s thrived in, I wouldn’t get too optimistic.
Well, as I did my searches I came across this article Victoria Coates warns that Mexico's newly elected president is worse than current one!, by
Mexico elected its first female president on Sunday, Claudia Sheinbaum, who won with roughly 60% of the vote, CNN reported. Sheinbaum, who is a physicist with a doctorate in energy engineering, will be sworn in on Oct. 1......."I think her climate zealotry will be part and parcel with the extremist policies of the Biden administration, they're going to try to find common ground and that which will undermine the very strong energy partnership which should exist between the United States and Mexico."
The author went on to say:
Coates also noted that it does not appear Sheinbaum would take action against the Mexican cartels, who have become an increasingly important part of the Mexican economy. The cartels have played a monumental role in smuggling drugs across the U.S. southern border, which has resulted in a fentanyl crisis that has killed thousands of Americans.
American Thinker has what I would call a family of "commenters", not always in agreement, but most of them are at the very least much better informed at AT than other sites. Here were comments that turned out to insightful and prescient in view of Misty Severi's article.
-
Megan Draper, M.S. - She likely has the backing of the cartels, who would not let her live to run otherwise.
- Morry Rotenberg - Don’t forget that Angela Markel was also a physicist. She shut down nuclear plants and opened her borders to the head choppers. Germany is in trouble because of her legacy.
- Donn Reeves - The “She always speaks in generalities,…” is the “tell”. People like this never get anything done. Probably why she was approved to continue the status quo.
- Skyfire - Environmental Scientist, tells you all you need to know.
I think as a result of this information, you can toss any level of optimism out the door with this gal. As Harold W. Goodman succinctly defined her with just one word, "leftist". That proves you don't always need a lot of verbiage to pretty much sum things up.
