I subscribe to John Mauldin's economics newsletter Thoughts From the Frontline, which comes every Saturday. I subscribe because he writes about economics in ways that's understandable. Here's what I think is an important article, The Coming Supercyclical Crisis. I've written about the national debt a lot over the years, and even offered this solution, Get Out of Debt Card.

I've read three books on historical cycles, and find them to be complicated reading, as they don’t share the same definitions or terminology. However, they all agree we're well into an end cycle. End cycles have huge economic downturns, violence, system collapses, governments are overthrown, all of which has to occur in varying degrees before a new cycle begins. WWI ended one cycle, and the new cycle that followed is just one example.

At any rate, there will be economic and social consequences for all this spending, borrowing, and debt, but I think the pain can be minimized. Argentina’s Javier Milei is leading the way, along with the recent elections in Europe, which I will have more on in the coming weeks.

As for Brexit, “Saudi Arabia has reportedly decided not to renew its 50-year-old petrodollar agreement with the United States after it expired this week. The deal, which was signed after the U.S. went off the gold standard in the 1970s, established the U.S. dollar as the main currency used to purchase oil on the world market. Without the agreement, Saudi Arabia can conduct oil and other trade in multiple currencies.” 

The world’s governments have a debt load of over 307 trillion dollars, much of which cannot be repaid, which is why the IMF is active in these nations.   If we get our debt under control, Brexit will dissolve on its own.
