LAWRENCE FRANKLIN: An Unsung American Hero

I have known Colonel Lawrence Franklin for about three years, but it seems like a lifetime. While on the surface it might appear, we have little in common, our shared value system binds us, making us family. The Colonel embodies the finest attributes of a man, husband, father, and patriot.
Recently his dear wife of 50 years, Patricia, passed away. While not unexpected it still leaves a hole in one’s heart. In his 70s, Franklin remains a good Irish Catholic boy who comes from a working-class background. His father served in the Pacific during World War II and his uncle was in Europe fighting the Nazi menace.
He served in Vietnam and lost his best friend in a war no one officially called a “war.” Franklin was at the Pentagon on 9/11 and witnessed firsthand our nation attacked by Islamic terrorists. He also spent time in various locales throughout the world, including Israel. While in Israel he formed a special attachment for the Jewish State and its people.
Colonel Franklin is a fighting man, make no mistake about it, but I first “heard” his name while reading one of his columns at Gatestone, a well-respected primarily foreign policy site. His pieces on China/Asia should be required reading for our intel community. He is one of those rare military men who can take someone apart with his hands or a thousand-word essay.
His knowledge and vision of things to come cost him dearly when he committed the most unforgivable sin possible in Washington. He told the truth and was eviscerated by the Bush Administration. It was necessary because if people would have listened to him it could have interfered with an unnecessary war in Iraq causing the defense industry to lose tens to hundreds of billions of dollars. In addition, think of the lost monies the political class would have had to forgo. That would have been catastrophic!
In a Newsweek story authored by Caroline Glick, a prominent Israeli journalist, I came to understand how a corrupt government eliminated justified caution against their planned Iraqi “war games.”
As a result of his years of study and working as a topflight intel analyst, Colonel Franklin became aware in the run up to the 2003 Iraq invasion of an Iranian plot to turn the Iraq War into another Vietnam-like quagmire. As a neighboring country it would be easy to assist and aid an Iraqi insurgency with unconventional terrorist and militia forces.
Unable to get those above to listen, the Colonel decided the danger to American lives was so severe that he chose to go through outside channels in hopes of getting President Bush’s attention. He went to AIPAC officials, and it was then he discovered that Washington was like the Gaza Strip for a Jew or anyone who sympathized with Israel. Many of those in the Pentagon and intelligence circles believed Iran was not a threat despite evidence to the contrary. They believed the “Jewish Lobby” was trying to gin up a war to serve their own interests.
During the investigation of Colonel Franklin, he was confronted with an intense Washington Jew hatred that few were aware existed. One of the investigators, a supposed Middle East specialist in the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) had a Hezbollah flag on his desk. Despite the 1983 Beirut bombing that killed 243 U.S. Marines, this man insisted Hezbollah was not a terror group although the U.S. government lists them as such.
Hezbollah was founded by Iran in 1980 during our intense hostage situation that linked to its formation. One FBI official investigating Colonel Franklin bragged about an uncle who was a Nazi General in World War II. Nice, although given the FBI’s current fascist incarnation, not surprising.
Space does not allow me to adequately describe the plot and evil visited on my friend. Refer to the Glick article for details on what our U.S. government did to an honorable man.
The short of it is that to punish and scare off anyone from voicing an unwanted opinion on Iran or Israel our government attacked the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and prosecuted Colonel Franklin for treason. Our government can come up with any excuse if they are focused on destroying someone. In this case, Colonel Franklin removed official state documents and took them offsite – to his home – solely so he could work from home while caring for his very sick wife.

BIDENOMICS: U.S. economy failingOur economy is in a free-fall due to Bidenomics. Plus, we are on the cusp of World War III thanks to Biden’s unyielding support for Iran, the world’s leading exporter of terrorism. Just consider:
Federal Reserve: Reports that 90-day delinquency on credit cards has increased to 5.1 percent, up from 3.4 percent in 2Q 2022.
Fitch Ratings: Reports that 60-day car payment delinquencies for those with bad credit reached an all-time high of 6.1 percent in September, up from 5.8 percent in August. This is the highest level since they started reporting in 1994.
Equifax: Reports that U.S. credit card debt and other types of revolving loans surpassed $1 TRILLION in August. Americans are carrying over $851.4 BILLION in balances. That’s 18.1 percent above where they were last year.
Federal Reserve: Reports that 90-day delinquencies were 0.63 percent in 2Q 2023, which is up from 0.44 percent 2Q 2022.
Lending Tree: Survey found that 64 percent of Americans are living paycheck-to-paycheck.
A few of the many recent Bidenomics success stories:
Liberty Mutual (property and casualty insurance) – Will cut 850 employees (2 percent of its workforce). This follows 370 staff members being pink slipped two months ago.
Amgen & Horizon Therapeutics (biopharmaceutical) – It will be a bleak Christmas for 350 Horizon Therapeutics employees (about 20 percent of the workforce) as their jobs are disappearing due to overlap.
LinkedIn (business social media platform) – Following the 716 positions cut in May, the company will now eliminate another 668 jobs across its engineering, product, talent, and finance teams.
Flexport (supply chain management) – Plans to cut 30 percent of its workforce in November. This would affect 1,000+ of its 3,500 employees.
Wells Fargo (banking) – Will lay off 525 employees in Columbia, South Carolina. This is after laying off 100 employees in Florida three months earlier.
Jobs are in health care and government:
The October forecast was for 170,000 new (nonfarm) payroll jobs, but the increase was below expectations at 150,000. That sent the unemployment rate up to 3.9 percent, the highest level since January 2022. Where are all these jobs coming from? Health care 58,000 - Government 51,000 - Construction 23,000 - Social assistance, 19,000.
LEFT HATES CHRISTIANS: Attacking Speaker JohnsonIn an interview several days after being elected House Speaker, Louisiana Representative Mike Johnson said:
“I am a Bible believing Christian. Someone asked me today in the media, they said, it’s curious, people are curious, what does Mike Johnson think about any issue under the sun? I said, well, go pick up a Bible off your shelf and read it. That’s my worldview.”
Leftists are upset that a man of faith actually follows his faith. Jim Hoft, founder of The Gateway Pundit, closed his October 30 article by asking:
“Did you ever imagine in your lifetime that we would have a major American party that hated Christians?”
LEFT HATES JEWS: Line in the sand for progressive Jews?
There is an old Yiddish expression: Two Jews, three opinions. This has been especially true for politics. Oy vey, no wonder there are some empty seats at the Passover Seder table!
Read “The Death of Democrat Jewish Innocence” by Sally Zelikovsky—link below—for a better understanding of why Jews vote Democrat. Maybe the horrifying events on October 7, where Iran-sponsored Hamas terrorists slaughtered, tortured, and/or kidnapped 1,400+ innocent Israeli civilians and injured thousands more, will be their the line in the sand.
*Billionaire hedge fund manager Leon Cooperman is a Columbia University alumnus (1967). He has given millions over the years to his alma mater, but recently announced he would no longer donate to the university. In a Fox News interview, Cooperman said:
“I think these kids at the colleges have shit for brains. I have no idea what these young kids are doing. The real shame is I’ve given to Columbia probably about $50 million over many years and I’m going to suspend my giving. I’ll give my giving to other organizations.”
With all due respect to Mr. Cooperman, the fact that he hasn’t noticed the antisemitism at Columbia University until now might mean he also has shit for brains.
*Berkeley law professor Steven Davidoff Solomon wrote an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal entitled “Don’t Hire My Anti-Semitic Law Students.” He opens by asking: Would your clients want an attorney who condones hatred and monstrous crimes?
HOLLYWEIRD: Hates people of faith
Catholic Colbert & Jewish Winkler attack Speaker Johnson. Aren’t you fed up with liberal entertainers who make it obvious they excel at memorizing lines but fail at world history? Stephen Colbert’s monologue on October 30 was just another example of progressives showing how frightened they are of people of faith, such as the newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson. The United States of America was founded by Christians based on Judeo-Christian values – and thank God for that!Winkler (whose family barely escaped Hitler), praised Colbert’s monologue. Being just one generation from the Holocaust, Jews especially should know better. Orthodox Rabbi Dov Fischer (who is conservative in both religion and politics) wrote an excellent column chastising woke Jewish university and college students who are now whining that they are victims on campuses. USA IS A CHRISTIAN NATION
The United States of America was and remains a Christian nation founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Before the Battle of Long Island, George Washington addressed the Continental Army on August 27, 1776. From that address:
“While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.”
For decades, the left has gone after all people of faith.
Look at the left’s attacks on Christmas, wanting the birth of Jesus to become a celebration of Santa Claus. Or Satan. The left goes to court to have crosses removed from public squares and city logos. They go after Christian business owners, demanding that they create food or wares that go against their religious beliefs.
The left uses the term “Christian nationalist” in a derogatory way. But as Gary Bauer of American Values pointed out on November 1:
But a Christian is someone who loves Jesus, and a nationalist is someone who loves their country. “Christian nationalist” would describe all our Founding Fathers and most Americans throughout most of our history!
As we have seen in the pro-terrorist rallies, the left hates Israel and Jews. Antisemitism has been spewing from the left for decades, coming out from the shadows when Barack Obama was president. It might have taken the atrocious October 7 Hamas pogrom to wake some progressive Jews from their stupor. Some Jews feel as if we are now wearing a Yellow Star. EVENTBRITE: Riley Gaines calls for a boycott
Athlete and female sports activist Riley Gaines planned to host “Protecting Women’s Sports with Riley Gaines.” Organizing her event, Gaines did what most people do: she posted the program on Eventbrite.
Shortly afterwards, Gaines received a message from Eventbrite informing her that the event has been unpublished since it violates the platform’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. According to Eventbrite (get your barf bags ready) her event discriminates against people for a variety of reasons including “gender identity” and “sexual orientation.”

FEMALES: Boycott sports w/ trans men & you will win!
Isn’t it time for girls and women to STOP competing in sports events that include biological men? Let the bio men have the pool or track all to themselves so that their “win” becomes meaningless.
Boycott and win! When female jiu-jitsu tournament competitors learned that BIOLOGICAL MEN (aka trans women) would be competing in their late October event, they dropped out rather than risk injury or death. Unlike some sports, there are serious threats of bodily harm in jiu-jitsu. In a recent competition, the female athletes didn’t know until the competition started that some of their “female” competitors would be men. Now they knew and decided to boycott the event.
So, what happened?
The North American Grappling Association (NAGA) changed its transgender participant policy due to the backlash of trying to force WOMEN to compete with MEN. Females in all sports should boycott events if biological men are allowed to compete with the girls or women.
McDONALD’S: Service without a smile
The Fort Worth, Texas McDonald’s is a new, fully automated restaurant. The corporation is testing how they can keep everyone McHappy with fewer employees, which means customers won’t interface with humans when they order or pick up their food. “Accelerating the Arches” is designed to improve the customer experience. Think about that – it used to be where having helpful, smiling employees enhanced the restaurant visit.
Now having fewer employees is supposed to achieve the same goal.
If this McDonald’s is successful, it is likely to expand to California where beginning in April 2024, minimum wages for fast-food workers will increase to $20 an hour. This has a domino effect. Currently, the state’s minimum wage is $15.50 an hour. The employee who has worked hard and received wage increases to $20 an hour, will want their hourly wage bumped up $4.50 so they retain the same spread between themselves and new hires. Then the person making $24.50 now, will want the same hourly wage spread … and so on. Until the fast-food owner lays off workers and replaces them with kiosks OR closes the business.

With a population of 84 million, Germany is home to the second-largest Muslim population in Western Europe, after France. More than 5 million Muslims live in Germany comprising 8.5 percent of its population. In “Living Together in Religious Diversity” by the Bertelsmann Foundation, the study found that only 50 percent of Germans consider themselves Christians.
Of those who call themselves Christian:
- 44.6 percent are Catholic
- 43.7 percent are Protestant.
The remainder religions:
- Muslim 8.5%
- Hinduism 1.3%
- Buddhism 0.9%
- Judaism 0.3%
German politicians understand that Muslims are a growing minority. In September, to celebrate the 50th founding anniversary of the Association of Islamic Cultural Centers in Cologne, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said:
“Islam, the Muslim religion, Muslim life, Muslim culture have taken root in our country. Today the diversity of Islam, the diversity of over 5 million Muslims, is also part of our country.”
Following the barbaric Iran-sponsored Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, pro-terrorist supporters in Berlin painted a terrorist flag on a monument near the so-called “Arab Street.” Within hours, Berlin authorities painted over the flag. At the same time, German leaders immediately expressed its support for the Jewish state. The city’s iconic Brandenburg Gate glowed in blue and white to show Germany’s support for Israel.
German authorities also banned pro-terrorist rallies throughout the country including the display of terrorist flags or speech. However, they enthusiastically allowed rallies in support of Israel with most held at the Brandenburg Gate (pictured glowing in blue and white).
Like France, Great Britain, and other European nations, it might be too late for Germany to retain its identity.

KENTUCKY: Republican Daniel Cameron (pictured) is running for governor. If elected, he would be Kentucky’s first black governor. A George Soros-funded PAC called Black Voters Matter Action PAC, refers to Cameron as “Uncle Daniel Cameron.” Can you imagine if a Republican PAC referred to a black Democrat candidate that way? Cameron has said: “I believe here in Kentucky, you shouldn’t be judged by the color of your skin but by the content of your character. The same cannot be said of Joe Biden, out-of-state, radical left interest groups, and the national Democrat Party, who think you can’t be black and conservative. I never faced racism or discrimination while growing up or working in Kentucky until I decided to stand up to the national Democrat establishment.”
COLORADO: Colorado Representative RINO Ken Buck must have known he would not win his primary and on November 1 announced he would not run for re-election. Trent Leisy (pictured), owner of Windsor-based Northern Seeds and a Colorado State University graduate had already announced he was running.
Buck started his political career in then-congressman Dick Cheney’s office. One of Matt Gaetz’s “Gang of Eight,” he was steadfast in his support for Representative Liz Cheney. Buck has always claimed that Joe Biden won the presidency in a fair election.
Leisy was not afraid to call Buck out:
“He (Buck) wants to be portrayed as far right when he actually is a RINO; he doesn't have that reputation anymore, and he's more RINO than he's ever been.” CALIFORNIA: Another RINO who needs to go and is being primary challenged is Representative David Valadao in California’s 22nd Congressional District. Chris Mathys (pictured) has announced he is running against RINO Valadao who voted without trial to impeach President Trump. Mathys said: “Americans are suffering from record inflation, expensive gas, high interest rates and a southern border with thousands of illegal crossing daily impacting our medical care and education. In the last year alone 2 rural hospitals closed for lack of funding.”

Considering the Fox Business debacle that took place on September 27, more commonly called Republican National Committee (RNC) debate, many people are suggesting it’s time to change the format. Currently, the next snoozefest is scheduled for November 8 in Miami and will be hosted by NBC. (Another network that is known for its fairness to Conservatives—not!)

IS THE TIDE TURNING TO FREEDOM?
With our prayers and involvement, we must have hope of saving our republic. Let’s look at some recent wins that show the tide might be turning in the direction of Conservative Judeo-Christian values. However, we need Republican LEADERSHIP, which seems to be in short supply:
- Sixteen former New York City sanitation workers who did not take the jab and were fired in October 2021 will get their jobs back with back pay, per a New York State judge. At the same time, the state’s Public Employment Relations Board ruled that city workers who were fired for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine must be rehired with back pay AND interest. This is happening across the United States. Think of all the experienced employees (in private or public work) that were fired during these insane times for refusing to take the questionable vaccine.
- As announced earlier this year, CNN officially closed its CNN World News Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia on October 26. Operations will move a few miles away to a location where Ted Turner housed the network when it started in 1980. This is being done because of declining viewership and increasing costs. Most broadcasts are done in New York and Washington, D.C.
- Cornell University History Professor Russell Rickford has taken a leave of absence after more than 11,000 people signed a petition demanding his termination. Following the October Hamas massacre in Israel, the professor told a crowd of terrorist supporters that the bloodbath was “exhilarating” and “energizing.” (These are the people teaching our kids!)
- From overseas: - The far-right Swiss People’s Party (SVP) had sizable gains in their recent national elections while the Green Party suffered major losses. The SVP has always focused on illegal and legal immigration issues, but this year, candidates also campaigned on kitchen table issues: cost of living issues and soaring health care costs. (Hmmm, sounds a lot like what Americans are talking about.
