For some time I've followed and written about the disaster called Venezuela, and how the left, especially the lunatic left in Hollywood, praised and lauded Hugo Chavez and Maduro, even when it was obvious the nation was going down the drain economically.
They were destroying one of the world's most successful nations with their corrupt incompetence by destroying the only real money maker they had, their oil pumping system. All the while the people were suffering massively from a lack of food, lack of adequate, or even minimal medical care, not to mention the level of crime the people of Venezuela suffered.
For some time the war globalists in American political circles who wish to extend the idea that it's America's job to interfere in every nation's social issues, even when it's to America's detriment, which is still playing out in the Afghanistan debacle, cried about how we needed to jump into the Venezuela swamp, even with a military ....actually especially with a military action....because either they cried Russia, China or both were getting involved with Venezuela, ergo, America needs to jump in before Russia or China, or both, get an established foothold there.
Wisely, it was clear Trump understood the Bretton Woods era is over and that neither Russia or China can afford Venezuela, so if someone really has to go in and to do it, let it be someone else, and never initiated such actions.
This whole cold war scare mongering - Danger, Danger Will Robinson - was a red herring canard. My view regarding their involvement was clearly contrarian. I said ....good! Let them jump right in. If Russia and/or China were to throw billions at Venezuela, it won't fix a thing because the corruption and incompetence is massive, and if either China or Russia did so, they (both would be better), would go broke all the faster, and Venezuela would still be a mess.
This article by Frank Friday A glimmer of hope in Venezuela outlines very nicely just how flawed China's "economic" aid policies are to those who embrace them.
Life is about patterns, and the patterns of life repeat over and over again, The Soviet Union financed Cuba for years, then they collapsed because they went broke trying to match the military expansion of America under Ronald Reagan, which the treasonous left screamed about with tons of media support, both of whom seem to have a monopoly on being wrong with an unending embrace. However, the Soviets knew from Khrushchev's days that competing with America was economically impossible. It was Reagan who saw through their maskirovka policy of deception. The same is true of China.
Neither China or Russia are natural capital generators, and no matter what you hear from the pundits and Washington insiders, China's in trouble geographically, demographically and economically, and because of their bully boy tactics in the South China Sea nations are pushing back, which I will deal address again in another post, all of which China can ill afford. Time
is not on China's side!!!!!
China screwed Venezuela on the oil deal, but Venezuela's oil is thick with contaminates, requiring extensive refinement and there are few refineries that will take their oil, so they have a lot of trouble selling it. Fracking oil is super sweet, so refiners, who have aligned their refineries for fracking oil, means fewer refiners not only don't want Venezuelan oil, they can't refine Venezuelan oil.
Eventually America will get involved with Venezuela, because Venezuela will ask us for help. Why? Because they're a mess and the only hope for their nation is to the North, the United States, and they're coming to us eventually, and they will gratefully thank us.
Hopefully Biden will be gone by
then so that transition can happen competently. In the meanwhile, you may wish to read some of my commentaries on Venezuela.
