ICC is Going to Investigate a Socialist Dictator? Ya Gotta be Kiddin Me!

By Rich Kozlovich

On ICC prosecutor says he will open investigation into Venezuela, saying:

International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Karim Khan said on Wednesday he will open an investigation into possible crimes against humanity in Venezuela........."determined that he will proceed to open an investigation to establish the truth"........."The preliminary examination that opened in 2018 is nothing more than a filtering stage as we move into this new stage".............Khan stressed the court's independence and said its investigations should not be politicized.........

First of all, this is going nowhere.  But I have to admit, it's shocking they actually think someone other than the United States and Israel, neither of whom are signatories of the Rome Statute that created the ICC, should be investigated for crimes against humanity.  Now, if they really want to prove their court is independent and non-political, start investigating these Islamic states as reported by Jihad Watch.

But here's the reality of these international organizations:

Influential U.N. Body Elects Sudan to Leadership Position - By Patrick Goodenough January 30, 2013 - Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, has been indicted by the International Criminal Court but remains relatively free to travel and his regime has now been elected to a leadership post in an important U.N. body.   Three months after Sudan was controversially elected onto an influential United Nations body with key human rights-related responsibilities, Khartoum’s Islamist regime scored a further diplomatic coup this week when other members elected it as vice president.  The decision to select Sudan as vice president of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) drew sharp criticism from activists concerned about the northeast African country’s human rights record. President Omar al-Bashir is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) on war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide charges.  To Read More….

Independent and non-political?  Yeah, right?  Believing they're independent and non-political is like believing a junkie is independent from his dealer.

Where is the international outrage over North Korea?  Which the world is clearly ignoring! But they're not a signatory of the Rome Statute either, so the ICC has no jurisdiction.  When has that bothered them in the past when they declare jurisdiction over the United State and Israel? Independent and impartial?  Get real, as you will see in my articles listed below.

There's a whole lot more out there, but I think they need to add this to their investigation of Venezuela:

Make no mistake about it, this is going nowhere, but if it does, it wouldn't shock me if someone at the ICC gets fired. Please read my articles:

  1. The World as I See It: The International Criminal Court (ICC) is Corrupt to the Core!
  2. The International Criminal Court: Leftists Out of Control

Then there's this piece with "My Take" on it:

  • Showdown Brews As U.N. Court Targets U.S. GIs.  Of course this was before Biden, Austin, Afghanistan, a traitorous General Milley, Woke senior commanders of all the services,White Supremacy charges, diversity, inclusion, equity and initiatives along with vaccine mandates, all causing the deterioration of America's military by the Biden Administration.  So the Navy Seals and the Marines might not be able get the job done now.

Venezuela's Hope for the Future Isn't China

By Rich Kozlovich

For some time I've followed and written about the disaster called , and how the left, especially the lunatic left in Hollywood, praised and lauded Hugo Chavez and  Maduro, even when it was obvious the nation was going down the drain economically.

They were destroying one of the world's most successful nations with their corrupt incompetence by destroying the only real money maker they had, their oil pumping system.  All the while the people were suffering massively from a lack of food, lack of adequate, or even minimal medical care, not to mention the level of crime the people of Venezuela suffered.

For some time the war globalists in American political circles who wish to extend the idea that it's America's job to interfere in every nation's social issues, even when it's to America's detriment, which is still playing out in the Afghanistan debacle, cried about how we needed to jump into the Venezuela swamp, even with a military ....actually especially with a military action....because either they cried Russia, China or both were getting involved with Venezuela, ergo, America needs to jump in before Russia or China, or both, get an established foothold there.

Wisely, it was clear Trump understood the Bretton Woods era is over and that neither Russia or China can afford Venezuela, so if someone really has to go in and to do it, let it be someone else, and  never initiated such actions.

This whole cold war scare mongering - Danger, Danger Will Robinson - was a red herring canard.  My view regarding their involvement was clearly contrarian.  I said ....good!  Let them jump right in.  If Russia and/or China were to throw billions at Venezuela, it won't fix a thing because the corruption and incompetence is massive, and if either China or Russia did so, they (both would be better), would go broke all the faster, and Venezuela would still be a mess.

This article by Frank Friday  A glimmer of hope in Venezuela outlines very nicely just how flawed China's "economic" aid policies are to those who embrace them.

Life is about patterns, and the patterns of life repeat over and over again,  The Soviet Union financed Cuba for years, then they collapsed because they went broke trying to match the military expansion of America under Ronald Reagan, which the treasonous left screamed about with tons of media support, both of whom seem to have a monopoly on being wrong with an unending embrace.  However, the Soviets knew from Khrushchev's days that competing with America was economically impossible.  It was Reagan who saw through their maskirovka policy of deception.  The same is true of China.

Neither or Russia are natural capital generators, and no matter what you hear from the pundits and Washington insiders, China's in trouble geographically, demographically and economically, and because of their bully boy tactics in the South China Sea nations are pushing back, which I will deal address again in another post,  all of which China can ill afford.  Time is not on China's side!!!!!

China screwed Venezuela on the oil deal, but Venezuela's oil is thick with contaminates, requiring extensive refinement and there are few refineries that will take their oil, so they have a lot of trouble selling it.  Fracking oil is super sweet, so refiners, who have aligned their refineries for fracking oil,  means fewer refiners not only don't want Venezuelan oil, they can't refine Venezuelan oil.

Eventually America will get involved with Venezuela, because Venezuela will ask us for help.  Why?   Because they're a mess and the only hope for their nation is to the North, the United States, and they're coming to us eventually, and they will gratefully thank us.

Hopefully Biden will be gone by then so that transition can happen competently.  In the meanwhile, you may wish to read some of my commentaries on Venezuela.

Feel the Bern: Communist Losers Stealing From a Communist Loser

A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices - George Orwell

By Rich Kozlovich

Silvio Canto, Jr. is a writer for American Thinker, who I've been much impressed with over the years, published an article entitled, Vlad over Caracas saying:
We know two things about Vladimir Putin and Nicolas Maduro. Putin loves to navigate in choppy waters and stick it to the U.S. Maduro is desperately looking for a sugar daddy. We learned that Russia is active down in Venezuela, to say the least.
He went on to note:
"In exchange for modest loans and bailouts over the past decade, Russia now owns significant parts of at least five oil fields in Venezuela, which holds the world's largest reserves, along with 30 years' worth of future output from two Caribbean natural-gas fields."
"Venezuela also has signed over 49.9 percent of Citgo, its wholly owned company in the United States – including three Gulf Coast refineries and a countrywide web of pipelines – as collateral to Russia's state-owned Rosneft oil behemoth for a reported $1.5 billion in desperately needed cash."
"Russian advisers are inside the Venezuelan government, helping direct the course of President Nicolás Maduro's attempts to bring his failing government back from bankruptcy. They helped orchestrate this year's introduction of a new digital currency, the "Petro," to keep oil payments flowing while avoiding U.S. sanctions on the country's dollar transactions."
"Venezuela's still-formidable defense force, once an exclusively U.S. client, is now equipped with Russian guns, tanks and planes, financed with prepaid oil deliveries to Russian clients.  Maduro scoffed last year at President Trump's public threat to use the U.S. military to bring him down, saying Venezuela, with Russian help, had turned itself into a defensive "fortress."'
This is a bad thing why? It's a good thing for America, but it really stinks for the people of Venezuela.

First off, just how impressive can their defense force be? On August 5, 2018 Monica Showalter posted the article, Venezuela: Always a bad sign when your military scatters and runs.

During an alleged coup there were "explosions" of unknown origin as she notes:
"The military ran. It broke up like a mob of scared rabbits. They were the picture of chaos and disorder and it was all caught on camera. The whole grand parade Maduro was making a speech at the head of absolutely fell apart as the soldiers broke and fled in panic."

There's no bailing Venezuela out. It's a money pit with a bottomless hole. It is in such dire straits it will take decades to repair the damage done by Chavez and Maduro and that of band of thieves, cut throats and thugs. Especially the long term health consequences for children who've been starved while the military and ruling elite steal the food for themselves.   And Putin isn't going to buy into that economic and social swamp.

Furthermore, there's a problem with Venezuelan oil.  The nation's oil is thick and rich with contaminants making it hard to refine and they may become the only energy rich nation without a market because fracking oil is not only light and sweet - it's super light and sweet - and there are few refineries in the world who will take their oil - most of them are in the Gulf Coast of the U.S. And when those refineries change over for fracking oil.  What then? The vast majority of Venezuela's wealth comes from oil, and the worldwide price has dropped dramatically!  When all the refineries convert to that oil, who will take Venezuela's oil? Russia? China?

I describe just what a mess this is in my May 13, 2018 article The World as I See It: Venezuela.  Who's going to fix all that?  Russia?  China?

Make no mistake about this. Both Russia and China are in for what they can steal, and they're not going to build new refineries in their respective countries, nor are they going to fix the ones in Venezuela. And they're certainly not going to build any new ones in Venezuela.  And we also have to remember Chavez and his band of thieves stole all that made the Venezuelan oil profitable.  Will those he stole it from really accept him selling their property to someone else without taking legal action?

On April 3, 2018 Monica Showalter published the article, Even Venezuela's sugar daddies, Russia and China, are bailing out.  Saying:
"Right under the radar, Venezuela is getting dumped by its two sugar daddies, Russia's state-linked Rosneft energy giant, and China's state-linked PetroChina. Bye-bye money, because this is a big blow. The pair of them were slated to run two of the three of Venezuela's monster-big refineries in the Paraguana complex, Amuay and Cardon, two refineries that were the crown jewel of Venezuela's global oil presence. Back in the 1990s, these were the most advanced and best-run refineries in the world.
Today, they have fallen into such a state of shambles even the Russkis and Chicoms won't touch them. According to a report from Kallish Energy, the repair costs of the Chavista-managed socialist-run rubble is $10 billion with a 'b.' They'd have to shell that out just to get the darn things running and then would get ten years to run them and sell their products before forking them back over, free of charge, to the Venezuelan Chavista government, which ruined them"
It wasn't that many months ago when there were writers who were all worked up about the potential of Russians getting a toehold in South America via Venezuela.  I stated that wasn't going to happen since the Russians are broke and don't even finance Cuba any longer - and as bad a shape Cuba is in - it's an economic power house compared to Venezuela.  This was predictable to the most casual observer.

The cure is coming, and that fix will be total economic collapse, and there's no need for the U.S. to get involved, as there is no upside for America.

If we invade, we'll be criticized as greedy corrupt capitalists trying to steal a poor countries asset, even if we saved millions from starvation, sickness and disease. That accusation will be played over and over again.

If we don't invade, we're accused of being selfish, greedy, cold hearted capitalists, but that accusation will pass.

That makes it a no-win situation for the U.S. no matter what we do. So, if there's no upside, then let's choose to save the lives of American soldiers and the money of American taxpayers.

If the world really thinks something needs to be done militarily, then and let the hypocrites of the United Nations, and the nations of South and Latin America do it.  Understand this.  If that happens and a new government is formed, there's only one direction that government can turn to for any real and legitimate economic support. North!  If it doesn't happen the devastation that exists will continue and even worsen.  If they do what needs to be done, we will determine the terms.  They will be saved and we will win, not only in Venezuela, but all the Northern tier South American countries, and that will also play out in the rest of South America.

As for now, the people of Venezuela jumped on Chavez's socialist bandwagon when it was obvious who he was and what he was going to do.... and stupidly....... they loved it. Let them live with the consequences of that stupidity.

This is not America’s fight, or America’s responsibility! We owe them nothing!

Feel the Bern: Will Trump invade Venezuela?

By Rich Kozlovich

I think President Trump realizes we're at the end of the Bretton Woods era, and there is absolutely no value in the U.S. invading Venezuela.  Here's a great article by Doug Bandow entitled "No, America Should Not Intervene Militarily in Venezuela", I think is worth viewing.

Let's face it, we don't need their oil, we don't need their friendship, or the friendship of any of our neighbors to the South. Should we be concerned over the terrible suffering the people of Venezuela are going through? Of course! But why is it the responsibility of the U.S. to fix what they've brought on themselves?

This human disaster is a real expose of the morality of an international community that loves to criticize America.  As Antonio Mora states in his article,  Who’s Saving Venezuela? The U.S.? The UN? The Pope? No. But They Could. Here's How”
"The list of international players that have wrung their hands about Maduro’s tyranny, but failed to take effective action, is long and shameful. But they are far from powerless.........".
"The violent repression, oppression, and human rights abuses by the Venezuelan government have become so commonplace and the Venezuelan people have become so despondent, little is seen as shocking anymore. In horrifying detail, she describes atrocities that include the rape of men and women, beatings, broken bones, psychological torture, starvation rations, and the withholding of medical treatment, including for malaria, a once-eradicated disease in Venezuela, but where 240,000 cases were documented last year."
"Children are starving, people are dying of treatable illnesses because of a scarcity of medicines, and the regime has taken dozens of television and radio stations off the air."
"But international dysfunction is such that their pleas to the world may be a waste of breath."
The United Nations has done nothing.  Where is the condemnation from the UN Council on Human Rights?  Oh, wait, Venezuela is a member of that council, and who does the U.N. criticize?   UN goes after Ecuador and Peru over passports, not Maduro regime.
"It was the United Nations that so conspicuously succored the Venezuelan regime, dating from the days when Hugo Chavez hooted on about the 'smell of sulfur' against President George Bush. Venezuela was awarded a seat on the United Nations Security Council as recently as 2014, and kid you not, has gotten awards from the UN about hunger alleviation. The UN gave Venezuela a position on its Human Rights Council. Hugo Chavez's billionaire daughter (wealth derived from looting the treasury), served as Venezuela's credentialed United Nations envoy. Why didn't the UN put the brakes on any of that? Why didn't they put Venezuela on the spot for that, leaning on them to clean up their home act?
Is it any wonder the U.S. is withdrawing membership in that council and ending any funding to it? What is the Organization of American States doing?  They talk of suspending Venezuela's membership and adding sanctions.  Really?  Is that all?

What about the Pope?  He's had a lot to say about America's "immoral" immigration policies and our "immorally" dumping the Paris Treaty on Climate Change, but we're being assured, the Pope has a plan for Venezuela and we just need to give it time to work.  After reading this piece of clabberous jabberwocky, can someone please tell me what that plan really is?

Now we see how much compassion Venezuela's neighbors have for them as tens of thousands pour over their borders trying to escape the disaster created by the socialist government they loved. Now these countries are demanding they show passports. Passports they don't have and can't get because Venezuela farmed that duty out to Cuba, and Cuba isn't giving them out.

So why can't these South American countries just recognize them as refugees? Because this idea of open borders is dangerous, and now that it's happening to them they're declaring states of emergencies at their borders.

In some areas these refugees have caused so much trouble the local people drove them out. If an invasion is necessary to fix Venezuela, let the other nations of South America invade Venezuela! If the U.S. invaded we'd be condemned as imperialists interfering in a sovereign nation's affairs, and of course the charge will be that we're really not doing it for humanitarian reasons, it's because were greedy capitalists and want to steal their wealth.  But if we don't invade, our morality is called into question, and we'll hear how the richest country in the world is unconcerned about all this human suffering.

It's a no-win situation for the United States, except for one thing. If America stays home we don't waste American lives or money on Venezuela! So if we're going to be criticized no matter what we do.... let's make the choice of saving our men and our money. As for the claims of our lack of human compassion - that will pass. If we invade that will be an arrow shot at us forever, and by the very people demanding we do something, no matter how much good we may do.

Tell the South and Latin American countries that if they want Venezuela fixed to stop huffing and puffing and acting all self-righteous, and do it themselves. Put the burden of all of this on their shoulders.   If it takes an international effort, including invasion, to fix Venezuela then let the Union of South American Nations (USAN) take the lead.  However, to take that road means they are in fact condemning socialism. Let them take the road that condemns socialism, something they've all embraced in varying degrees over the decades, which is one of the reasons they're ambivalent to do anything.  If they do that it makes it difficult to justify their own levels of socialism, and difficult to criticize the United States.  And that goes for the Pope, and all these socialists thugs and thieves infesting the United Nations, and the OAS.

All these entities have been willing to self-righteously criticize Venezuela from a distance, but now they have to do something directly to deal with this political crisis. But they won't, and if the USAN, the UN, the OAS and the Pope refuse to do anything, then let the suffering be on their heads.

Another reason the USAN won’t do anything is because the USAN is a mess. Of the 16 countries that make up South America, seven have either suspended or withdrawn their membership, and as far as I can tell there are only six active members.   As for taking action against Venezuela?  They couldn't even agree on who the Secretary General should be and at times the position went unfilled. And guess which country remains a member? Venezuela!

At some point all these groups are going to start begging the U.S. to do something. First, they'll demand and pontificate about how this is America's responsibility, which some are already doing. Then they'll try to shame us over our lack of humanitarian instincts ..... and then ..... they'll start begging, and when that happens they need to be told to shove it, grow up, stand on their hind legs and put their own house in order.

The people of Venezuela jumped on Chavez's socialist bandwagon when it was obvious who he was and what he was going to do.... and stupidly....... they loved it. Let them live with the consequences of that stupidity.

This is not America’s fight, or America’s responsibility!

The World as I See It: Venezuela

By Rich Kozlovich

According to Geopolitical Futures, (a subscription site I heartily recommend) it appears President Maduro's Venezuealan govenment, who unendingly blames western capitalists for Venezuela’s unbelievable poverty and privation, has now decided that ConocoPhilips may be allowed to take over “refineries and terminals owned by the Venezuelan state-owned oil company on the island of Curacao, a constituent nation in the Kingdom of Netherlands, which would include “include an oil terminal and a refinery with ….. a capacity to produce 335,000 barrels per day.”

Venezuela also has oil storage tanks on St. Eustatius island, a Special Municipality of the Netherlands, and an export terminal that can handle 10 million barrels on Bonaire island, which is also a Special Municipality of the Netherlands.

Now, I will be the first to admit I don’t understand this Netherlands link as it exists today with Kingdom of Netherlands islands versus Special Municipalities but it’s important to the story because it makes it clear they’re not controlled by the government of Venezuela and most importantly - they’re prosperous.

Geopolitical Futures notes: Venezuela's oil "company accounts for roughly 16 percent of Venezuela’s refined oil exports and 70 percent of its crude oil exports. But Venezuela has recently limited oil extraction, and refineries are operating at just above 30 percent capacity. In December, about 80 percent of Venezuela’s refineries halted operations.”

In short – Venezuela’s socialist government has been totally incompetent with their assets no matter where they’re located, and they’re losing huge amounts of money, but what happens if they give up these assets?

First, I’m not sure what’s moving Venezuela to do this, other than they’re hoping those dirty capitalists can find a way to increase production and they can cut a deal for some of the profits. And since it’s clear these assets are going down the tubes under their control, a little bit of something is better than a whole lot of nothing.

Not only is Venezuela’s oil heavy with contaminants making refinement expensive, but the bulk of their oil reserves are part of the Orinoco Belt containing an estimated 1.2 trillion barrels of oil resource and it’s reported this oil is expensive to produce.

To produce this oil takes billions in investment and high oil prices or it isn’t worth it. The oil companies made those investments, but that was when the oil prices were high.  As is the case with all socialists, Chavez wanted more of what they didn’t work to produce, demanding the oil companies make changes to their agreements and give majority control to the state-owned oil company.

Total, Cheveron Statoil and BP agreed, but ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips refused and their “assets were expropriated – another word for stolen. But once again, Venezuela’s oil is very heavy with contaminants and most refineries don’t want it. Will that change? I don’t think so, but even if it did, it really doesn’t matter?

No matter what deal they work out, if any, it’s too late. The people are starving and the entire structure of the nation is a mess in every sector, including its medical care, which must now be categorized as a horror story.

It’s going to take years to fix this mess and the only real hope for Venezuela isn't an oil deal with those dirty greedy capitalist oil companies - it's an outright overthrown of Maduro and his theives, thugs and henchment, bringing a new government into being that is willing to beg those dirty U.S. capitalists  to bring them out of the abyss of socialism and just feed them.

Feel the Bern: The World Owes Venezuela Nothing

By Rich Kozlovich

On August 4th, Ana Quintana published an article entitled, Venezuela Succumbed to Dictatorship: The World Must Push Back, saying:
Over the weekend, Venezuela succumbed to dictatorship. It’s going to take a concerted international effort to reverse this ugly development. On July 30, socialist strongman Nicolas Maduro held a fraudulent and highly unpopular election. As a result, all 545 seats of a new “Constituent Assembly” are being filled with candidates hand-picked by Maduro’s National Socialist Party The Constituent Assembly is empowered to rewrite Venezuela’s constitution, expel members of the opposition from the current National Assembly, and consolidate all power in the executive branch.

On the day of the election, Maduro’s security forces killed 16 innocent demonstrators and bystanders. Videos showed national guardsmen pouring live fire into unarmed crowds and lobbing teargas into hospitals and apartment buildings.   In 121 days of anti-government protests, government forces have killed 130 innocents and detained 3,500 demonstrators. More than 430 protestors (sic) remain incarcerated.
Ok, so what?  The things she reports here are important, but meaningless when compared to the horrors that have been going on for years.  I know what's going on there.  I've posted or published 45 articles, including this one, about the nightmare of Venezuela's socialist paradise under the label .

(Editor's note:  There are six more under this label but they're dealing with Rahm Emanuel, Democrats, communists, socialists and leftist loons .  There I go again repeating myself. RK)

You may wish to take this opportunity to explore these posts, if for no other reason than to be assured these horrors have been going on for years - and the world didn't see any need to "fix" Maduro and his thugs.  Here's one of the articles I've written: Venezuela "Felt The Bern" in 2016, listing those horrors.

I give this author credit, but where has the main stream media been these last ten years?  Where was the public outrage?  Buried! Because entirely too many in the media and American government want the U.S. to Feel the Bern also.

The author says the world needs to push back? Really?  Why?  Maduro will be gone before year's end.  Venezuela is going to collapse all on it's own and Maduro is - at least in my opinion - trying to keep control long enough to rape what's left of the nation's wealth before he and all his thugs escape to some nation who will harbor them.  Remember Chavez's daughter is a billionaire.....a billionaire!  And as far as has been reported - she never had a job. How did that happen? And are we to believe all that money is in some Venezuelan bank? A country whose currency is now worthless?

The nation's oil is thick and rich with contaminants making it hard to refine and they may become the only energy rich nation without a market because fracking oil is not only light and sweet - it's super light and sweet - and there are few refineries in the world who will take their oil - most of them are in the Gulf Coast of the U.S. And when those refineries change over for fracking oil....what then? The vast majority of Venezuela's wealth comes from oil, and the worldwide price has dropped dramatically!  There's no fixing Venezuela from the outside.

The nation is rich with mineral deposits, but the socialist thieves and murderers who run the country wasted billions on socialist causes instead of building an internal infrastructure to get at them or transport them. It's railroads don't even link up with the other northern tier nations of South America.  The geography of South American makes exports out of Venezuela extremely difficult to impossible financially and logistically.

The only natural economic hope for Venezuela is to the North to the United States.  That day is coming soon and the world will have to do nothing for it to happen.  In fact - much of South America will be looking to the U.S. for economic support as a direct result of fracking.  They won't like it but they're going to have to learn to like it because we're going out of the world police and economic hand holding businesses, and the world is heading for a massive economic downturn.  The only nation in the world that can feed itself, fuel itself, arm itself and defend itself is the United States. The rest of the world, including China and Russia, are now and have always been in need of outside sources.  We don't need them - they do need us.

These urgent cries for the world to do something are fraudulent.  These aren't emotional cries for the world to step up - it's an emotional appeal for the U.S. to jump into this mess.

Even when the rest of the world's nations own interests are involved - their commitment to anything is half hearted and half witted, making whatever they do a fairly worthless public relations show.  The only real hope is they don't make a bigger mess of it all.

Now if the rest of South America want to interfere - well that's up to them - and after all couldn't that be the responsibility of the Union of South American Nations? They keep telling the U.S. it's their bailiwick and the U.S. needs to keep it's nose out.  Okay, I agree, and the world is in for a rude awakening.  America not only needs to stay out of it - the U.S. is going to stay out if it.  We're not going to be the world's policeman much longer, nor are we going to be the wholesale defender of democracy any longer.

The Bretton Woods concepts of post WWII has run from being partially successful in Europe to an abject failure elsewhere, especially in Muslim countries.  And we're not going to open our markets wholesale to these nations much longer. We're broke - and it's time to start cleaning our own house and stop worrying about taking out the world's trash costing hundreds and even thousands of American lives and billions of tax payers dollars. Especially since so very often they're replaced with even worse trash.

These countries have social paradigms going back hundreds of years that make it impossible for American concepts of democracy to be adopted successfully, and that includes Europe which has a shared history and ethic. The only country that comes close is Australia.

So get over it, stop emoting about it, turn mother's picture to the wall and go home. It's their problem, Venezuelans brought Chevez to power and resisted any efforts to stop him. It's their punishment. It's a punishment they brought on themselves, and that punishment is what will create the fix. Let them do it.

But - we're Americans - and you know what that means.  America is the only truly generous and compassionate nation on the planet.  When Maduro and his thugs are gone they'll be leaving massive starvation and disease behind - the common denominator of socialists worldwide throughout history.  We'll send massive shipments of food and medicine.  And the private citizens of America - that horror of capitalism and personal greed - will send more aid than all the rest of the world's governments combined, as we did in Haiti.  And much of it, if not not most of it, will be wasted, as it was in Haiti.

But helping others less fortunate is a foundational American social paradigm based on the amazing success created by capitalism, the U.S. Constitution and the Judaic/Christian ethics and principles, which all of that is based on.  All the things socialists hate and despise and desperately want to rid the world of.  And why?   So the world can achieve utopia and "Feel the Bern"!  But it's not utopia that follows socialism.  It's dystopia!  Misery, suffering, disease, starvation and early death is what follows socialism just as sure as Sancho Panza followed Don Quixote - a madman.

That's history, and that history is incontestable.

Venezuela "Felt The Bern" in 2016

By Rich Kozlovich

As I watch these Hollywood idiots like Meryl Streep spouting idiotic hyperbolic blather about what they think Trump will do - I thought it would be worthwhile to see what real catastrophes were ignored by these people - leftists catastrophes brought about by leftists they praised - about which she and her fellow travelers in Hollywood never uttered a word.  This is for the leftists out there who have no idea why they believe what they believe.   It's reality check time!

Over this last election we kept hearing university students enthusiastically calling for the nation to "Feel the Bern" and support Bernie Sanders for President of the United States.  Young, enthusiastic and stupid.   Doesn't anyone study history in school any longer?  Well, yes they do, but the history they're learning isn't history.  It's leftist propaganda.  So let's take a small trip down history lane, and see what "Feeling the Bern" really means.

Venezuela is awash with riches, except since the people of Venezuela are facing massive poverty and starvation, it's hard to tell.  Poverty, privation, starvation and misery.  Those are the symptoms of what "Feeling the Bern" really means.  Dystopia - poverty, misery, disease and early death - has been the end product of socialism throughout history - and that history is incontestable!

Oh, and don't let those reports bother your regarding the socialist leadership living country club lives quaffing champagne while  "middle-class mothers scavenge for food in the gutter". . . "even the dogs are starving.” And don't let the comment from one "wealthy Chavez crony who asks,  “Should we stop enjoying ourselves just because the country is burning? Well, of course not", bother you either.

Please stand up for your principles and no what matter happens don't let reality stand in the way of your leftist visions of utopia, liberty, equality, fraternity.  Oh wait.....wasn't that the slogan of the French Revolution as the leftist leadership implemented in what history calls The Terror?

What I would like to know is where are all the rich elitist Hollywood lefties who praised Hugo Chavez and his revolution.  Where for that matter is Bernie Sanders....oh....I know.....he's at his newly purchased $600,000 dollar home.

Hmmmmm....where did all that money come from?  Why didn't he - as an ardent anti-capitalist - give it to Venezuela to help the poor starving people there?  Oh....I know the answer to that one too.  Leftist elites in capitalist nations only believe in giving other people's money to the poor...not their own.

As for Venezuela's riches, the country is awash with mineral resources including "diamonds, bauxite, gold, iron ore, natural gas, however Venezuela really depends on it's oil revenues, which amounts to "about 95% of the export value and around 12% of the country’s GDP value."  Relying on the easy money from petroleum may not be a bad policy - if the price is high and there's a buyer for it - but for Venezuela it's now an economic disaster.

Fracking has changed all the rules regarding oil.  The world is fracking and there's more oil available out there than you can shake a stick at - and the U.S. is the world's leader and we have massive amounts of untapped oil.  And that's the problem for Venezuelan oil!

"One oil rig was idle for weeks because a single piece of equipment was missing. Another was attacked by armed gangs who made off with all they could carry. Many oil workers say they are paid so little that they barely eat and have to keep watch over one another in case they faint while high up on the rigs. Venezuela’s petroleum industry, whose vast revenues once fueled the country’s Socialist-inspired revolution, underwriting everything from housing to education, is spiraling into disarray.  To add insult to injury, the Venezuelan government has been forced to turn to its nemesis, the United States, for help.  “You call them the empire,” said Luis Centeno, a union leader for the oil workers, referring to what government officials call the United States, “and yet you’re buying their oil.”
Fracking oil is readily available, cheap, light and sweet, and has caused the price of oil to drop worldwide to the point OPEC thinks to turn the tide by reducing production.  Good!  That will take money out of the hands of those who are financing terrorism.

But Venezuela's oil isn't, sweet or light.  It's filled with contaminants and costly to refine, and at this point there are few refineries who will take it, and most of them are in the U.S.   But those refineries are shifting over to refine the light and sweet fracking oil, which is not just sweet and light - it's super sweet and super light - and once that happens Venezuela may be the only energy producing nation that can't sell it's oil - at any price.

But if the nation's mineral rich why does this matter?  It matters because no one is developing those resources.  Venezuela has been wasting billions on subsidizing a "wide array of ideological allies from Cuba to Bolivia to Argentina", instead of developing the interior and the nation's transportation system, which is absolutely essential to economic development.

They poured the profits from Venezuela's oil - " more than $250 billion in all from 2001 to 2015 - into the country’s social programs, including food imports".  Really?  That's where all the money went?  So how did Hugo Chávez 's daughter become a billionaire without ever having worked?

Huge amounts of that money was leeched off to the ruling socialist elite, just as was done in Nicaragua by Daniel Ortega, who hypocritically "rails against the evils of "savage capitalism", however the reality is that he owns and manages multi-million dollar business ventures providing him with a personal wealth of more than $50 million. For a man of humble beginnings from a poor country like Nicaragua, this is quite a fortune."  Where did that money come from?  Certainly not his salary as the tyrant of Nicaragua.

South America isn't a singular land mass, it has massive geological divisions that make inter South American trade difficult, including the Amazon tropics, which separates the northern tier states from potential trading partners in the south such as Brazil.  Because of the geography of South America and the lack of transportation development, Venezuela is largely isolated from their neighbors to the South.

Venezuela's rail system doesn't even connect to another country, including Columbia, which is a northern tier neighbor.  When they should have been developing their interior transportation, creating a very real potential for future development, trade and food production, they wasted it on socialist fantasies, and corruption.  At this point Venezuela can't even meet it's own nutritional needs.

That's been the story of socialism.  Make outrageous claims about equality and then rape their nation's economy for personal gain, and destroy the nation with their incompetent policies.  That's history, and that history is incontestable.

Their only economic hope now lies to the North.....to the U.S.....and they desperately need to repair their relationship with the U.S. because time's running for the people of Venezuela, and these socialists find it easier to blame the U.S. rather than make amends with the U.S.

So where are they now?  How's "the Bern" working?

"Venezuela’s epic shortages are nothing new at this point. No diapers or car parts or aspirin -- it’s all been well documented. But now the country is at risk of running out of money itself.....Venezuela, in other words, is now so broke that it may not have enough money to pay for its money."  They can't even afford to print their own money, and with inflation skyrocketing - to the tune of 720 % in 2016 - so to is violence, "with the world's second-highest murder rate."

Venezuela’s currency is so devalued it no longer fits in ordinary wallets and the government thinks this is a good thing.

Daniel Greenfield posted this article: " Socialism Works Until You Run Out of Money to Pay for the Paper Your Money is Printed On,  saying: here's a preview of Bernie Sanders' economic policy over in Venezuela. Millions of pounds of provisions, stuffed into three-dozen 747 cargo planes, arrived here from countries around the world in recent months to service Venezuela’s crippled economy.  But instead of food and medicine, the planes carried another resource that often runs scarce here: bills of Venezuela’s currency, the bolivar.    The shipments were part of the import of at least five billion bank notes that President Nicolás Maduro’s administration authorized over the latter half of 2015 as the government boosts the supply of the country’s increasingly worthless currency, according to seven people familiar with the deals.  And the Venezuelan government isn’t finished....Venezuela's Socialist government had to buy its own fake money from abroad because it couldn't afford to print its own money anymore.

"As hunger mounts, people in socialist Venezuela turn to trash for food.  Julio Noguera spends his evenings searching through the garbage for food. “I come here looking for food because if I didn’t, I’d starve to death,” Noguera said as he sorted through a pile of moldy potatoes. “With things like they are, no one helps anyone and no one gives away meals.”

"Across town, unemployed people converge every dusk at a trash heap on a downtown Caracas sidewalk to pick through rotten fruit and vegetables tossed out by nearby shops. They are frequently joined by small business owners, college students and pensioners – people who consider themselves middle class even though their living standards have long ago been pulverized by triple-digit inflation, food shortages and a collapsing currency. Venezuela’s poverty had eased during the administration of the late President Hugo Chavez. But a study by three leading Caracas universities found that 76 percent of Venezuelans are now under the poverty line, compared with 52 percent in 2014......The government blames the political opposition, accusing it of waging an “economic war” to stir unrest and oust President Nicolas Maduro from power. The administration has launched an aggressive program to build urban farms in an effort to address food shortages."

Even the New York Times is being forced to recognize the reality of socialist policies with this article, Venezuelans Ransack Stores as Hunger Grips the Nation, by Nicholas Casey, saying: "With delivery trucks under constant attack, the nation’s food is now transported under armed guard. Soldiers stand watch over bakeries. The police fire rubber bullets at desperate mobs storming grocery stores, pharmacies and butcher shops. A 4-year-old girl was shot to death as street gangs fought over food.  Venezuela is convulsing from hunger."

"Hundreds of people here in the city of Cumaná, home to one of the region’s independence heroes, marched on a supermarket in recent days, screaming for food. They forced open a large metal gate and poured inside. They snatched water, flour, cornmeal, salt, sugar, potatoes, anything they could find, leaving behind only broken freezers and overturned shelves.  And they showed that even in a country with the largest oil reserves in the world, it is possible for people to riot because there is not enough food."

"In the last two weeks alone, more than 50 food riots, protests and mass looting have erupted around the country. Scores of businesses have been stripped bare or destroyed. At least five people have been killed.  This is precisely the Venezuela its leaders vowed to prevent".   Hungry Venezuelans stop a livestock truck and steal crates of chickens after country's food shortage spirals out of control.   Venezuela's in a death spiral!

According to Maduro: "I doubt that anywhere in the world, except in Cuba, there exists a better health system than this one”.  Considering how bad actual Cuban medicine is, he’s probably right." And what's going on in Venezuela demonstrates just how right he is.

Corpses are exploding in decrepit Venezuelan hospitals "in a spray of toxic fluids and gasses. The ghastly incident earlier this month necessitated the partial evacuation of the hospital".  Remember, this is a government that can't provide aspirin.  "One in three people admitted to public hospitals last year died, the government reports. The number of operational hospital beds has fallen by 40 percent since just 2014. And as the economy fails, the country is running short on 85 percent of medicine, according to the national drugstore trade group."   "The left-wing administration of President Nicolás Maduro calls the medical crisis an invention peddled by opponents of the country's 17-year-old socialist revolution. The government has refused to let in humanitarian aid."  But never fear, "the Venezuelan military has taken over distribution of medical and surgical supplies amid shortages."

Venezuela’s crumbling mental hospitals "has long been a forgotten place, filled with forgotten people.  But with Venezuela suffering from a severe economic crisis, this mental institution has almost no drugs to control the afflictions tormenting its patients.  At the invitation of doctors, reporters from The New York Times visited six psychiatric wards across the country. All reported shortages of medicine, even food."..."El Pampero Hospital, hasn’t employed a psychiatrist in two years. It has running water for only a few hours a day, and food is scarce. Omar Mendoza, pictured above, is one of many undernourished patients. He lost half his weight this summer and is down to about 75 pounds.

Venezuela's hospital hell Blood, flies, agony:  "Plumber Freddy Herrera broke his leg in four places when he crashed his motorbike nine months ago. But his real troubles started when he got to hospital.   The doctors fixed the leg. Then they had to operate 13 times more to cut out infections caught in the stinking hospital where he languishes.  With open rubbish bins, flies in the corridors and rotting corpses stacked in the morgue, this in the Coche district of Caracas could be the set of a horror film.  But it is all too real: the dirty, miserable human face of Venezuela's economic and political crisis."

"There aren't many doctors here—just 18 for a community of 150,000 people. Medics warn harmful bacteria has grown to resist the few antibiotics that are available.  "I'm scared that after fighting this for so long, they will come and tell me they have to take off my leg because the bacteria have infected the bone," Herrera says.  "I don't want to go up to the operating theater anymore. Every time I do, I come back feeling worse."......."Being a doctor in Venezuela is an act of heroism," says the doctor who asked not to be named.  The country's Medical Federation says 13,000 doctors have left the country since Maduro's predecessor Hugo Chavez, the father of Venezuela's "socialist revolution."

The lights are going out in Venezuela - 40 days of blackouts hit Venezuela amid economic crisis, in a country with massive oil reserves.  Although they're facing a real problems selling their oil down the road, we have to ask - why didn't they develop their own refineries and sell refined oil? There must be profit in that or no one would be doing it.  No, instead they wasted and stole the nation's riches.

Leftist don't love the poor.  They hate everyone and have wrecked unending misery, horror and death on societies all over the world and they're clearly as insane as are the adherents to Islam.  While the "elites" of these insane government elites live life to the fullest - the people live in dystopia.  They constantly promise utopia - at the expense of others - and end up delivering dystopia

Leftists constantly make totally irrational claims to blame others for their failures and the failure that follows socialism.  That's history!  And that history is incontestable.  Obama blamed Bush, Hillary blames Putin and Comey, and now Maduro blames Obama.  Leftists hate everyone, including other leftists.  But they offer lots of free stuff, at least until they've run out of other people's money, then they print money that has no value.  It's never their fault when it all comes tumbling down.

Here is one Daniel Greenfield's concept of Bernies first year as President of the United States.  "The Sanders campaign had eschewed a slogan; instead it listed all the things that would be given away for free. Free health care, free college, free homes, free phones, free internet, free cars and free money for everyone. In the last week of the campaign, President Sanders had unveiled a guaranteed minimum income that would be paid to every individual in this country making Welfare-for-All into a reality. The disappointment did not take long to arrive.  Much of the financial sector that Bernie Sanders had hoped to tax began vanishing as soon as the election results were in. New York’s loss was London and Singapore’s gain. A trillion dollars in investment capital left the United States creating a ripple effect that brought businesses to their knees. The prices of milk and beef doubled. Ersatz bread made out of starch filled shelves while people waited on lines for the privilege of receiving government-subsidized milk from local welfare offices"....read more here.

Jeff Jacoby wrote, As socialism shattered Venezuela, the useful idiots applauded, saying:  When the Cold War ended 25 years ago, the Soviet Union vanished into the ash heap of history. That left the West's "useful idiots" — Lenin's term for the ideologues and toadies who could always be relied on to justify or praise whatever Moscow did — in search of other socialist thugs to fawn over. Many found a new heartthrob in Hugo Chavez, the anti-Yanqui rabble-rouser who was elected president of Venezuela in 1998, and in short order had transformed the country from a successful social democracy into a grim and corrupt autocracy......was an unfettered, real-world example of anti-capitalist socialism in action. Venezuela since at least the 1970s had been Latin America's most affluent nation. Now it was a showpiece for command-and-control economics: price and currency controls, wealth redistribution, ramped-up government spending, expropriation of farmland, and the nationalization of private banks, mines, and oil companies."

And the useful idiots ate it up, including those two blithering idiots,  Oliver Stone who "filmed a documentary gushing over “the positive changes that have happened economically in all of South America” because of Venezuela’s socialist government. And Jimmy Carter who in 2013 with the death of Chavez, "extolled the strongman for “improving the lives of millions of his fellow countrymen.”

I keep asking where Sean Penn is these days. Remember when he ran down to Venezuela and embraced Hugo Chavez and told the world just how wonderful it was what Chavez and his leftist thugs were doing for Venezuelans? It's turned out their work "for" the people is more like "to" the people - and it isn't as if we have no history of what happens when economically incompetent communist thugs take over a country.

Leftists unendingly promise utopia and never fail to deliver dystopia. That's history and that history is incontestable!  The question we should all be asking ourselves is this: Why are college students and the young in general so supportive of Bernie Sanders?  He represents this very kind of insanity.  Answer?  Because they've been made ignorant, irresponsible and irrational by the leftists running America's universities.  This crop of students may be even dumber than the crop of misfit students of the 60's and 70's.  Why - because the history of leftism is available and incontestable.  They're dumb as dirt, and Bernie Sanders must be insane.

I'm just concerned Sean Penn, Michael Moore, Danny Glover, Barbara Streisand, Jane Fonda, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon, Janeane Garofalo or Joy Behar, Rosie O'Donnell, Matt Damon, John Cusack, Cher, Ashley Judd, Whoopie Goldberg, Cameron Diaz, Lena Dunham, Roseanne Barr, Jim Carey, Chris Rock, Russell Brand, Madonna, Orlando Jones, Oliver Stone and Bill Maher aren't there to share "The Bern" with the people of Venezuela.

Or even better yet - perhaps they can organize a massive fund raiser with their fellow celebrities and raise millions, or even better yet, tens of millions and then contribute those millions to the government of Venezuela.  After all....it's a leftist government they claim to believe in passionately, so they "know" their money won't be wasted on the undeserving.  Right? Hey Sean - we're waiting for you to organize such an event!!!!!

Before the end of 2017 Maduro and his crowd of thieves and thugs will be out of power and fleeing to - well, who knows where - with all the money they've stolen.  Venezuela will be impoverished beyond belief for decades because their oil won't be able to be sold to anyone because it's so contaminated.  All that money wasted by the Bernies of the world.  The day will come when the people of Venezuela will beg the United States to help to keep them from starving to death.

Is it any different in other socialist run countries? Kim Jong Un balloons to 300 pounds as famine nears, stating, "The road to revolution is long and arduous,” an editorial in the state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper said Monday, according to The Telegraph. “We may have to go on an arduous march, during which we will have to chew the roots of plants once again.”  “Arduous march” in North Korean is code for famine. It’s how state media described the disaster that struck when Kim was a mere teen, which experts say was brought on by the economic mismanagement of his father, Kim Jong Il, loss of foreign aid and natural disasters."

Then there's the Socialist ANC Slowly Destroying South Africa’s Economy.   The Liberty Bullhorn - The problems inflicted by big government are not confined to Europe or the United States. I have reported on the enormous problems plaguing Argentina, and in August I concluded about South Africa:  The failure of South Africa over the past 18 years to become a prosperous nation is entirely attributable to the radically leftist policies of the ANC government."

"In addition to corruption, the ANC has handed out entitlements right and left and promised all kinds of perks to people without neither requesting nor providing an opportunity for them to work for the very same goodies. Instead of creating an economic climate of economic freedom and self determination, the ANC imposed its radical political agenda with no regard for how it was going to pay for it. And just like every welfare state, the South African one has failed.

The situation in "South Africa has not improved since then. Violent labor conflicts have shattered the mining sector, but that is only part of the nation’s problem. More important than anything else is the fact that the country is suffering under the heavy hand of a corrupt and economically intrusive government. This government is combining incompetence and arrogance into a poisonous pill that is slowly killing the South African economy. For one, as the Business Day news site reports, unemployment is enormous".

Socialist Policies Undoing Success of South America’s Strongest Economy.  "Why do very successful nations often adopt policies that lead to their undoing? After a revolution or major reform, some countries allow a high degree of economic freedom, establish the rule of law, protect private property rights and establish low tax rates with strict limits on government spending and regulation. The economy takes off, the citizens become far richer and then the government mucks it up, usually by attempting to redistribute income and expand state control.  Is Chile, which has been one of the bright spots in the world economy, falling into this pattern under socialist President Michelle Bachelet?"..........".

"There is a field of economics called “public choice,” which explains how government bureaucrats operate in their own interests rather than the people’s interests. Professor Mark Zupan of the University of Rochester argues that the growth of governments is partly a result of “self-capture” by political insiders, including government employees and interest groups. What is happening in Chile is neither surprising nor new. It is hoped that the forces and institutions of liberty and limited government will be sufficiently strong in Chile to prevent it from becoming another rich country gone bad, like Venezuela and Argentina."

Paraphrasing something Thomas Sowell once noted:  Some things seem so reasonable they can fail nine times out of nine and everyone will want to try it a tenth.  And some things seem so unreasonable they can succeed nine times out of nine and no one is willing to try it a tenth.  That's the problem between socialism and capitalism.  Socialism is an abject failure in every category of human endeavor and untold millions love it.  Capitalism - especially American capitalism - has been a massive success in every category of human endeavor, and almost half the nation hates it, and half of them think we should "Feel the Bern".  I think they should move to Venezuela to find out just how good "The Bern" feels and then come back and tell us how they're loving it so much they're going to move there permanently!

The left is always the party of change, but they are dogmatically fixed in their positions and the only change they want it for everyone else to change to accommodate them.....to the detriment of humanity.

We really do need to get this once and for all!  Dystopia follows leftism like Sancho Panza followed Don Quixote - a madman!

Venezuela: Sean Penn's Socialist Paradise

By Rich Kozlovich

Last week Anthony Dipaola and Golnar Motevalli published an article entitled, “Venezuela Sees Crude inMid-$20s If OPEC Doesn't Act”, stating:

“Oil prices may drop to as low as the mid-$20s a barrel unless OPEC takes action to stabilize the market” which the desire of , Venezuelan Oil Minister Eulogio Del Pino.  It appears the government of “Venezuela is urging the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries to adopt an “equilibrium price” that covers the cost of new investment in production capacity, Del Pino told reporters Sunday in Tehran. Saudi Arabia and Qatar are considering his country’s proposal for an equilibrium price at $88 a barrel”, and “OPEC ministers plan assess the producer group’s output policy amid a global supply glut that has pushed down crude prices by 45 percent in the last 12 months”

Does anyone besides me see the humor in all of this?  The vast amount of the world’s oil – and the price of oil - has not been controlled by Exxon – or any of the other companies leftists scream about– it’s been in the hands of socialist nations.  These leftist hypocrites screamed against the greedy capitalists raising prices unendingly and now the very countries they laud are worried about …..watch out…..here in comes now….. falling prices.

Well, in Venezuela’s case it’s a lot more dire than just the price of oil.  It’s the desire for anyone to purchase Venezuela’s oil in the first place.  Venezuela’s crude oil “is so viscous and thick with contaminants that only a handful of refineries anywhere in the world can process the stuff. Almost all f those refineries are on the Gulf Coast of the United States”.  That was written by Zeihan in his book The Accidental Superpower, which I highly recommend.

The fact of the matter is this.  Fracking will kill Venezuela oil production, or at the very least – they will not be able to sell their oil at the prices they’re trying to get OPEC to demand.

Whereas Venezuela’s oil is “viscous and think with contaminants”, oil produced through fracking is sweet and light, in fact it “isn’t just sweet and light, it is ultra-sweet and ultra-light, and so is remarkably easy to refine into light distilled products, like gasoline."  At the current trend, “Venezuela will become the first energy producer in history to not have a market”.

That’s just a part of Venezuela’s problems.  Zeihan goes on to state Colombia and Venezuela “are for all practical purposes in another world”, because the roads that link them are remote and low-quality and their railroad doesn’t even connect Columbia and Venezuela, they don’t connect with any other country either.

They don’t even have the ability to easily travel into their own interiors.  That means their only hope is to the north, where all their populated centers face…….north….to the hated United States, who is their only natural economic partner.  But the United States has no need to be involved in Venezuela – if Venezuela wants that economic relationship with the U.S. – they will have to initiate it.

Now that does present a bit of a problem – don’t you think?  Hugo Chavez – when he was alive and abusing his people with his insane leftist policies – wanted to “reduce his country’s economic  connections with the U.S. in general and those refineries” he needed to accept his rotten oil specifically.   He wasted huge sums promoting the very socialism throughout South America that  imposed crushing poverty on his own people.  And now if these socialist leaders in Venezuela want any kind of economy they’re going to have to kiss some capitalist butt.  And won’t Sean Penn – who just thought Hugo Chavez and his commie buddies were just dandy - be thrilled about that?

Is this a case of paradise lost, or reality overcoming delusion?
