On May 31st, I posted this piece, What We're Seeing is Irreversible in America's Major Cities, noting how these leftist/racist Mayors are turning America's major cities into crime ridden sewers.  

Cleveland, a town I've loved for most of my life, is an example.  Recently nine people were shot on W. 6th Street.  About 30 years ago or so Cleveland restaurateurs started turning W6th into a "go to" area for fine food, and started turning it into a nightclub street, as they also did with E. 4th Street, and downtown was hopping.   

Things were really looking up for Downtown Cleveland, which has the second largest theatre district in the nation.  Then things changed and I noticed the nightclubs started drawing what can only be called an unsavory crowd, and businesses started failing.   I retired and didn't observe what must have been a downward spiral for Downtown Cleveland with these insane covid restrictions imposed by Governor DeWine, but it must have been devastating.  

A few days ago a man, with a long criminal record, decided to shoot nine people in that area, and at this point there doesn't seem to be a motive other than he just wanted to kill people. 

Then there was my take on Chicago saying, "We all know Lori Lightfoot as mayor of Chicago is gone (All due to racism, homophobia, and misogyny and her incompetence had nothing to do with it) and her replacement is even nuttier.  Will he fix Chicago's downward spiral?   Well, it turns out crime is so out of control in Chicago someone was murdered right across the street from his home, and 53 people were shot and 11 murdered over the holiday weekend.  So, I guess the answer to my question is, "no"'.   Well, clearly the answer really is no since crime is out of control in Chicago.

San Francisco is doomed, and it will never recover, as Paul Bois notes in this July 16th article, Tech CEO: Downtown San Francisco ‘Never Going Back’ to Pre-Pandemic State:  Death Spiral: Urges Mayor to Hire More Police.  "Downtown San Francisco will not be going back to its pre-pandemic state."

What we're seeing in San Francisco is a magnificent city being turned into a sewer.  The pandemic "launched a revolution of stay-at-home work, forcing major metropolitan areas like downtown San Francisco to become havens for vacant office buildings."  But crime so massive stores were taking such high losses large retailers like "Uniqlo, Nordstrom Rack and Anthropologie have left, toiletries like shampoo and toothpaste are locked up at pharmacies, and places like Gucci get hit by armed robbers in broad daylight."  Then there are the drug addicted lunatics and homeless people defecating and urinating all over the place. 

But here's the understated long term reason why America's major cities are doomed.   

"Last month, the owner of Westfield San Francisco Centre, a fixture for more than 20 years, said, “it was handing the mall back to its lender, citing declining sales and foot traffic. The owner of two towering hotels, including a Hilton, did the same."

Companies can't afford to be in cites where these race baiting Mayors and administrations refuse to deal properly with criminals, refusing to charge them for the crimes they've committed, and refusing to jail them, claiming that's what's needed to overcome white supremacy. 

They've also discovered they can function better, and cheaper, by not being in the big cities, paying those huge rents and high parking costs, but especially being able to avoid the unsavory people walking everywhere begging for money, and threatening they and their employees.

All over the nation these skyscraper office buildings are losing tenants, which means more and more owners of these buildings are incapable of paying the mortgages.  What do they do?  They default on the loans and the banks are stuck with large properties they can't sell for what they're owed, and I'm betting there's a huge number of them can't be sold at all.  End result?  These properties will deteriorate, and America's downtown commercial areas will turn into massive slums; banks are going to go belly up; and the national economy will suffer.  But these cities will never come back to what they were.   

What have we done to ourselves? We're facing a massive failure of culture because we've abandoned the foundational Judaic/Christian principles and values that keep a society stable, and no government program can fix that.  That must be changed at the family level, and the left is doing all it can to destroy the very concept of family. 

At some point society will have to embrace this principle as stated by Col. John Boyd. 

"One day you will come to a fork in the road. And you're going to have to make a decision about what direction you want to go..........To be somebody or to do something. In life there is often a roll call. That's when you will have to make a decision. To be or to do? Which way will you go?"

I've spent the bulk of my adult life in the Cleveland, Ohio area, and I love it here and I've loved Cleveland with all its ups and downs, but things have changed dramatically since 1965 when the population in Cleveland was 1,875,000. As of July of 2022 it was 361,607.  Whites make up only 38% of the population, blacks 47% and are still granted minority status, and has the power in Cleveland’s administration.  

Violent crime in Cleveland is 17.4 per 1000. In all of Ohio it's only 3.76 and nationwide it's 4. And let’s face it, crime statistics clearly show those crimes are mostly being committed by blacks, most of them the product of illegitimacy.   In America's major cities, this is the pattern throughout America.

Democrats are in charge in Cleveland, and in any city in which they're in charge they're driving these cities in a massively destructive direction.  Improved race relations are in the dumpster, and rampant anti-white racism is rampant, for which Barack Obama and the Democrat party are directly responsible.

In 1965 illegitimacy in black America was 24% and 3% in white America. In 1990 it was 64 percent for blacks and 18 percent for whites. In black America it’s now around 70%, and around 30% for white America. That's an obscene voluntary abandonment of men to their responsibilities, and a unbelievable and active acceptance by the women.   That’s massively destructive, and that destructiveness is spreading. That’s an abandonment of all the foundational values that create stable societies.

While there’s been efforts to restore Cleveland's neighborhoods, that required tearing down entire sections of the city to put up new buildings. As of right now, entire sections of Cleveland are either vacant lots with everything torn down, or have blocks of empty buildings, businesses and homes, that are rat infested holes surrounded by slums. And surrounding suburbs are equally impacted by all this, such as East Cleveland, which is a disaster. 

Driving down Euclid Avenue, Cleveland's main street, once known as "Millionaires' Row",  is deceptive.  Go a few blocks to the left or right, and reality sets in.

How can you revive any major city if the inhabitants live in a culture that’s undisciplined, irresponsible, refuse to be educated, and violent? One in which a huge percentage of the inhabitants of the city think that’s just fine and dandy.

I don't think that's possible because they've abandoned all the Judaic/Christian values that make a society stable.  If there is no stable moral foundation for a society, there is no stability, and then society becomes a mob.  

The worst mayors in the nation?  In 2021 Daniel Greenfield listed 14 of them, and they were all black, and/or far left lunatics, but they were all Democrats, and each and everyone of of them were race baiting hustlers shouting America is institutionally racist, among other things, but clearly they all hate America and are destroying the cities they lead, or led.

Why Do People Vote For People Who Hate Them?

America is descending into a cesspool of degraded values in order to attain diversity, equity and inclusion, and it must be noted none of that has a thing to do with merit or accomplishment.  I've stated this in the past and I stand by it completely, diversity without accomplishment is incompetence without consequence. 

Well, I stand by that with a caveat.  There actually are consequences to this insanity, negative consequences. But the consequences are not paid for by those promoting it or those benefiting from it.  They're paid for by society.

On May 17, 2023 Vince Coyner posted this great article, For Decades, Democrats Have Been Ignoring Evidence And Facts, starting with this observation:

About 20 years ago, I read a piece about the North Miami police department eliminating the swimming requirement for the police............North Miami has hundreds of miles of canals, lakes, and beaches. Predictably, the reason the requirement was being dropped was that “blacks are less likely than whites to know how to swim because of economic disparities between the groups…” In other words, the change was because not enough blacks were qualified to become police.....“If our goal is to have a more diverse workforce…” (a questionable assertion in the first place) “and not enough otherwise qualified black candidates can pass the swim test, maybe we should simply take those candidates who meet the other requirements and teach them how to swim.” But that’s not what they did.

Then there's this gun issue, as the author states:

It’s estimated that more than 80% of gun crimes are committed by people who came into possession of their weapons illegally, which means that, conservatively, legal gun owners perpetrated only 20% of gun crimes. There are almost 100,000 shootings in the United States annually (not counting suicides). If we assume that 20% of those shootings were by legal gun owners, that would be 20,000 shootings. To put that in perspective, that would mean that .0002% of legal gun owners commit crimes with their weapons, or conversely, 99.9998% of legal gun owners never use their guns in crimes….

So what's the Democrat solution?

Democrats work continuously to take guns away from all of those apparently “violence eschewing” citizens while at the same time seeking to free actual violent criminals from jail or prison or not send them there in the first place—even as those they free are the ones who actually commit most of the crimes and the worst crimes, and it’s not even close.

One has to ask if Democrats actually care about the average American?  I think the answer is clear.  Apparently not!  So why would average Americas vote for them?  They're not, that's why voter fraud has become rampant and ubiquitous.

Crime In America

Crime is skyrocketing in America, and the Democrats own it.  They're refusing to enforce laws, refusing to prosecute criminals, ordering police to not arrest criminals, letting violent criminals out without bail, or minimal bail, out of control immigration, increase of illegal drug use, demanding police forces be eliminated, and prosecute cops for doing their jobs, but that's not what's causing this upsurge in crime. No, their answer is there are just too many darned guns in the hands of honest citizens. Imagine that.  

Yet Chicago has some of the strongest gun control laws in the nation, and what has been the result?  Democrat-run Chicago Year-to-Date Crime Rate Up 97% Compared to 2021 - Compared to the first 22 days of 2021, the major crime rate in Democrat-run Chicago is already up 97 percent this year... Compared to those same 22 days last year, crime is up 61 percent. Another great American city utterly destroyed by unchallenged Democrat rule under Mayor Lori Lightfoot......... 

Mass Murders Post-Covid Are Plaguing Democrat-Run Gun-Nanny States the Most -The mass shooting in California that left 10 people dead this weekend is the latest reminder that many of the deadliest mass shootings in America since COVID-19 have occurred in states with strict gun laws.

The worst mass shooting by far since the start of the COVID pandemic occurred in Uvalde, Texas, where when 21 elementary school students were killed. 

 

The Giffords Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence gives Texas an F grade for gun laws, as the state allows permitless carry and does not have restrictions on assault weapons, among other things. 

 

However, of the five worst shootings in the United States since 2020, four of the states in which they occurred have at least a "B" grade from Giffords. Excluding murder-suicides within a family, half of the ten deadliest mass shootings over this period occurred in states that received at least an "A-" gun law grade.........

 

 Ten People Died Because of Pro-Crime 'Bail Funds' - Rashawn Gaston-Anderson, the vicious thug who shot him, was only on the loose because a bail fund known as The Bail Project posted bond for him. The career criminal had been arrested a month earlier on weapons charges. How Dumb Can a Politician Get The City of Minneapolis was in decline before covid, and before George Floyd. Abysmal governance and high costs had closed or driven away many businesses. Democrats show no interest in fixing their mess. Rather than focusing on re-criminalizing drugs, they’re pushing bills to expand the availability of fentanyl testing strips. Obviously, that won’t make a dent in the fatal overdoses. But Democrats refuse to condemn drug use, claiming any judgment would stigmatize addicts and prevent them from seeking treatment. Under the current permissive drug strategy, addicts aren’t seeking treatment and homelessness is rising.........

Democrat Hellhole NYC: Suspects Who Assaulted Fox News Weatherman Already Released - Three of the four suspects who on Saturday assaulted Fox News weatherman Adam Klotz in New York City have already been released, the New York Post reported.

 

It turns out two 15 year olds and a 17 year old were arrested with a fourth still at large, but does that really matter?  No, because you see that paragon of virtue and probity, Democratic governor Andrew Cuomo, "signed a bill that eliminated cash bail for most misdemeanors and some felonies."

 

So, they're already released, with no charges filed, to their guardians.  Guardians?  What's that mean?  Don't they have parents?  No, they probably only have one parent and a missing sperm donor, and guess what, they're black, so you know they have to be released because justice, as in putting people who commit crimes in jail, is racist.  

If This Is What the Future of America’s Major Cities Is Going to Look Like, We Are in Big Trouble - How could we have allowed things to deteriorate this badly?  For a moment, I want you to imagine that you have just arrived in a major city in a foreign country.  Unfortunately, instead of the shiny new buildings and beautiful homes that you expect to see, there is trash, filth and the sound of police sirens everywhere that you go.  After walking a few blocks, you stumble upon one of the dozens of open air drug markets that are freely operating in that particular city.  Many addicts are lying on the ground wherever they suddenly passed out, others with visible gaping wounds are staggering around like zombies, and you even spot one enterprising addict that has decided to take a dump right in the middle of the street..........

 

How did this happen? It's part of the plan by leftists, who now totally control the Democrat party, to destroy America, and we need to get that.  Once we're willing to grasp that basic foundational truth, everything else becomes clear.
 

Crime in America: If Leftists Were Any Nuttier, They'd be Nut Rolls

On September 28, 2022 Rachel Schilke published an article entitled, Robert Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan asks judge to free him, saying:

The man convicted of assassinating presidential candidate and former Sen. Robert Kennedy in 1968 is asking a judge to free him from prison, arguing that he no longer poses a danger to society.  Sirhan Sirhan, 78, is serving life in prison in California for Kennedy's murder, in which he shot the New York senator after he won California’s Democratic presidential primary, jurors found. Five others were wounded during the shooting in Los Angeles at the Ambassador Hotel. Sirhan's attorney, Angela Berry, stated in his request for release on Wednesday that her client is not a danger to the public anymore...............

Newsom overruled a two-person parole board that granted Sirhan parole in August 2021 after two of Kennedy's sons, Douglas and Robert Jr., spoke in his favor, stating they could tell he was "a human being worthy of compassion and love.” However, Kennedy's wife, Ethel, and his nine children were not supportive of Sirhan's release..........Robert Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan asks judge to free him 

Is it any wonder crime is skyrocketing in California, and much of the country with this kind of insanity.  The parole board granted release?  Really? Are they nuts?  Yes, they are, and they're not alone, because if this murderer hadn't killed a Kennedy, he'd be out now.  And I agree with the argument that was why Newsome overruled the parole board.  Again, if it wasn't Robert Kennedy he killed he'd be out now, which demonstrates nut rolls permeate California's entire "justice" system.

As for the Kennedy sons telling the world he should be released because he's "a human being worthy of compassion and love”, they're even nuttier.  

Every criminal, whether they're a one time murderer, a mass murderer, rapist, serial killer, terrorist, etc. is a human being, but are they really worthy of our compassion and love?  NO!  So then, where's the boundary for being "worthy of compassion and love"?  How about being innocent of wrong doing?   Like the unborn innocent they support murdering with their views on abortion? 

As for the idea they passed a law that requires government to release these vile characters when they can tell these monsters no longer represent a danger to society:  Well that is a huge load of horsepucky, as so many who have been released demonstrate over and over again.  

Prisons weren't created to fix these monsters, it was to isolate uncivilized moral beasts from society to protect society and punish them.  Rehabilitation simply doesn't work for the vast majority of these people.  Why is that is so hard to understand?  

It's now 9:27 AM, and I would like to update this piece and draw everyone's attention to this latest piece by Victor Davis Hanson:  The Thinnest Veneer of Civilization saying:

As we suffer self-inflicted mass looting, random street violence, hyperinflation, a nonexistent border, unaffordable fuel, and a collapsing military, Americans will come to appreciate just how thin is the veneer of their civilization.  When stripped away, we are relearning that what lies just beneath is utterly terrifying.

One thing should be clear as a bell.   Since the actions of leftists are so destructive to civilized society, one must conclude, the destruction of civilization must be the end goal of their agenda.

Have We Lost Our Minds?

Burt Prelutsky, who recently passed, was a well known and insightful writer who wrote an article some years back entitled “Those poor, poor perverts”. The basis of the article was a discussion as to how ridiculous are the arguments surrounding pedophiles and how they are to be treated by society.  He uses the old story of how “intellectuals” (he used the word “nuts”, but they were the intellectuals of the day. Nothing has changed!) would sit around for hours and discuss how many angels could dance on the head of a pin. See, television isn't as vast a wasteland as you thought.  It did cure one thing.

The only problem is that so many of those who are in decision making positions apparently don’t waste their time on television - mores’ the pity - because they now sit around and decide how many feet away from a school a convicted pedophile may live who has been released from prison.  Prelutsky makes a point that should be obvious to the most casual observer:

“For what reason would any sane society ever release such a person from jail? The notion that kids are safe if the creep lives 2,000 feet away from where they play is perfectly loony. What about the kids walking to and from those parks and playgrounds? “

He points out that it is like releasing all the bank robbers from the prisons and telling them they can’t live any closer that two blocks away from a bank and expecting this to be the solution to their wanting to rob banks. He goes on to say:

“judges and lawmakers seem happy to ignore the rates of recidivism among rapists and pedophiles. Is there anyone else, aside from defense attorneys, who would argue that a man who’s raped a six year old child deserves a second chance?” 

We have ceded our own common sense to the “experts”! Are they really all that credible?   So credible that we willingly abandon traditional values, common sense and moral balance? Where is our moral compass?   As unpleasant an issue as this is, I use it to show a peculiar mindset that has permeated society that really is nuts. Concern about pedophiles, bank robbers, rapists, murders, thieves and other assorted villains of society.  All of whom we should share a common concern. 

Instead we now have judges that sentence murderers to "in house imprisonment". In house imprisonment doesn't mean you can't leave your house, it just means the criminal will have restrictions, but not so many it will effect their "ability to maintain their place in society".  And we're to believe this a good thing that will be followed, and that this will be effective? 

If they really believe all of the stuff they spew out they're in serious need of psychological help, and this kind of insanity is growing.

Then there's, Marilyn Mosby, Baltimore State's Attorney, who filed a complaint against Fox station for reporting about she and her husband, City Council President Nick Mosby.  It appears a federal probe was launched into Mosby’s extravagant spending on what she claimed was business travel and various expenses associated with it, and it appears they've been so busy they've somehow repeatedly forgotten to pay their taxes.  But to make matter worse, she has also come under scrutiny for permanently halting all prosecutions for a number of non-violent crimes in Charm City. 

In spite of the clear public interest in her activities she now wants  to use the government, & the courts, to silence those who are legally reporting of the facts.   I'm sure that there are all too many leftist judges who'll be all too happy to comply.  And even if they don't, it means you have the expense and hassle of the lawsuit.  In other words, it's yet one more very nasty and all too effective way to keep people from telling the truth when the left might not like it.   

Attorneys like this ought to be disbarred, but it's not going to happen.  In fact she's going to be re-elected as Baltimore's State's Attorney, in spite of her issues with the police, and her efforts to prosecute six Baltimore police officers involved in Freddie Gray’s arrest and death. all with clear malicious intent. And, as far as I can tell, apparently all these legal issues she was facing are just going away.  

Then we have Seattle who wanted to cut their police funding by 50% and give that money to Black Lives Matters, only to find that doens't end rioting, and now, I'm sure they're shocked .....shocked I tell you.....to find crime is out of control, and now:

Amazon will relocate all 1,800 workers from its downtown Seattle office as the area continues to be plagued by crime in the woke Pacific Northwest bastion, where the police budget has been cut by $36million since 2019 – and now other businesses are starting to do the same.

To paraphrase the earlier question asked by Burt Prelutsky:

 “For what reason would any sane society ever believe anything these people promote? The notion that society would be safe if these creeps ideas and philosophies were followed is perfectly loony.” 

Yes, well, if Burt was still alive I would say to him.....we're there now Burt, the creeps are in charge, we are now "perfectly loony", and the nation's children are in more danger now than ever in the history of America.   The left is destroying us at our foundation.  And yes, we really have lost our minds.

 

Tucker Carlson: Leftist Insanity and Crime in America

It seems that.....watch out .....watch out now.......here it comes.....,according to Andrea Widburg, Democrats are now a major part of Tucker Carlson's audience:

More Democrats watch him than watch competing leftist news shows. The Wrap looked at the numbers in the Nielsen Fusion report for October and reached that surprising conclusion.  It was predictable that most conservatives watch Fox News.  What was unexpected was the fact that Democrats like Tucker, too: .......More Democrats watch him than watch competing leftist news shows.

Imagine that!  I'm shocked, shocked I tell you!

• Is it possible Democrats are now convinced they no longer believe the clabber about Trump any longer?  
• Is it possible they're finally realizing they absolutely cannot get the truth from Rachel Maddow, Mika Brzezinski, Joe Scarborough, and that herd of enablers on CNN, MSNBC, and the rest of that ilk? 
• Is it possible they're finally realizing Biden is an absolute disaster?
• Is it possible this whole COVID pandemic hysteria is unfolding? 
• Is it possible Many Democrats are realizing this pandemic hysteria is turning Americans into irrational anti-science cult followers? 
• Is it possible they now realize and Biden's there because of voter fraud?   

And as the evidence mounts showing there was voter fraud, it was massive and clearly was a gigantic multi-state conspiracy, which in my view must fall under RICO statues, I'm not seeing them sneer at those who've called it the fraud for what it was starting on November 4, 2020.

It's Not Your City Any Longer

In this January 1, 2022 piece by John F. Di Leo, Crime and Consequences, a Holiday Tale, he asks: 

 

What does crime cost? Big question, I know. But as we have just finished up one of the worst years for crime in American history, in terms of unexpected and painful growth of various types of crime, it is worth considering the human cost of this epidemic.

He goes on the explain the consequences of having "just a wheel" stolen off an over the road truck, and they're long ranging, and that's just one truck and one wheel.  Extrapolate that to every crime, large and small in America and we see long term destructive consequences to society. He goes on to say:

There are many reasons why we live in a more dangerous time than before. Some are perhaps hard to correct, which makes it all the more important to do what we can, where we can, because every crime has real effects like the one in today’s (true) story.

District attorneys who refuse to prosecute crimes… judges who refuse to properly sentence convicted criminals… governors who throw open the prison gates for mass releases at every opportunity… federal officials who have rendered our borders porous… mayors who encourage crime through “sanctuary city” declarations… these are things we can fix, at the polling place, on Election Day… and so we must.

The ascendance of the inner-city predator is directly linked the breakdown and affirmation of their activity by criminal justice system, the media, left wing ideologues and sociologists:

 

These predators who come out of the inner city and smash and grab their way through suburban shopping malls for $500 to $1,000 are not thugs, but desperate young people.  Their behavior shows not their thuggery, but their limited opportunities.  Why else would they take such enormous risks for so little money.

According their their illogical and irrational view:

The predators are the true victim.  The prey is simply collateral damage..........And the legitimacy of this twisted ideology is underscored by having the police stand in place while the "teens" bash their way through suburbia.

In San Francisco, an elderly Asian man minding his own business gets kicked in the head by a young thug.  The thug sees no incarceration time.  Under the policy of prosecutor Chesa Boudin, he gets counseling.  This is called "distributive justice."  It, however, requires the assent of the victim, and in this case, the elderly victim speaks no English and never consented.  No matter — Boudin's concern is for the thug, not the victim.

In Chicago, an elderly white man sleeping on the elevated train is beaten by more than a dozen black teens.  Kim Foxx, Chicago's controversial state's attorney, refuses to prosecute the teens.  Why?  Because the victim suffered brain damage and cannot identify the assailants even though closed-circuit TV clearly shows the thugs beating the man.  One wonders: if a dozen or more white teens had beaten up an elderly black man, would the decision have been the same?

Foxx has also refused to prosecute gang members shooting it out in broad daylight on city streets because being in a gang creates certain risks.  

Newly appointed Manhattan district attorney Alvin Bragg said he would not prosecute such criminal offenses as resisting arrest and evading transportation fares.  Armed robberies that did not result in injury would be treated as misdemeanor petty larceny, and not as a felony......

Their concern is not for the law-abiding citizen, but for the criminal.  The criminal is the product of the social system.  The criminal is the true victim, in this mentality, and the rest of us need to stand ready to be collateral damage.

On January 12  AWR Hawkins posted this piece, Off-Duty LAPD Officer Shot, Killed While House Hunting in the City, saying:

 

27-year-old Arroyos was wearing plain clothes “when three armed suspects drove up.”...... screamed at his girlfriend to run away, then exchanged gunfire with the suspects. He was shot during the exchange of gunfire...... Arroyo “Died a hero trying to defend himself and his girlfriend.

This is a city with a 15 year high homicide rate.  

The bottom line here is that Gascon, who serves as D.A. for gigantic Los Angeles and is now subject to a recall, has unleashed a crime wave so big onto Los Angeles that it's now spilling over into the tony adjacent enclaves such as Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and the Hollywood Hills.  Those residents cannot protect themselves, and the various crimes being reported, none of which ever happened in the recent past, have spun out of control.  Robberies, killings, and lots and lots of gun crimes by criminals have left them no choice but to arm up, and they're doing it.  Los Angeles County itself shows a sharp spike in applications for gun permits.

We'll come back to this in a later article, but here's the consequences of leftist policies, corrupt Soros D.A.'s, judges, mayors, media, academia and a corrupt Congress:   

That city you love so much doesn't exist anymore,  Baltimore? Chicago? San Francisco? Forget it. Stop looking back and think about how to move forward.  The big-city culture, history, entertainment, eateries, mass transit, and general hustle and bustle were the allure.  Amenities, job access, decreasing crime rates, overtaking the lower-income areas to create more affordable places to live once drove these large cities to be the targeted growth areas, especially for the up-and-comers.  According to U-Haul, recent moves include states like Ohio, Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, North Carolina, and Georgia.  Moves to the big cities in California and Illinois were the lowest-ranked destinations. 

But what about these leftist elites who've been behind this insanity?  It turns out, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Hollywood Hills elites are arming up, and I'm shocked, shocked I tell you. 

After decades of blaming guns on the streets for violent crime, and elections of district attorneys who actually believe that crap, Hollywood's elites are finally getting religion on gun ownership.  They're arming up.

They're arming up!  Imagine that!  As it turns out, as a result of all the insane lefty coprolite they've been embracing crime is spiraling out of control in Los Angeles.  Imagine that!  And that includes the wealthy, prominent and powerful.  When it was merely the deplorables who were being assaulted, robbed, raped, mugged and murdered they demanded the nation disarm, and those who refused be punished.  But now here's what's happening, and guess what?  They're scared!  And they are.....watch out now.....here it comes.......watch out now....they're arming themselves.

 

Many are self-proclaimed progressives who've never even held a gun before, but who've been so spooked by soaring crime in the famously wealthy enclave that they've decided to arm themselves.  It appears that the gun control solution these palmy leftists have prescribed for violent crime is drawing a different response.

So, we find their high self-righteous moralizing has turned out to be.....wellllll......stupid!  It is amazing how it all depends on who's ox is being gored isn't it.  Here's a gory list of things that's scared them:

• A well known socialite and philanthropist, Jacqueline Avant, was shot and killed in her own home on Dec. 1 by a career criminal in the terrifying act of cat-burgling, and her home had a security guard.
• In October, a star of the reality television show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was subject to a similar smash-and-grab incident in her Beverly Hills home.  The criminals departed as millionaires.
• A tony Beverly Hills restaurant, Il Pastaio, saw a patron robbed of $500,000 in a brazen robbery where a gun was put to his head, and another patron was actually shot.
• Investigators have said seven people have been robbed of "high-end jewelry" and Rolex watches between Jan. 30 and Feb. 15 in west Los Angeles neighborhoods bordering Beverly Hills, including nearby Wilshire, the Times reported.
• Meanwhile, just days ago, a man taking out his garbage on the still-fancy north side of the hills, in Studio City, was set upon by thugs who busted into his home for a smash-and-grab ransacking, zip-tying his handicapped son.
• Thugs with guns are turning up all over the place in Beverly Hills, a small independent city encircled by gargantuan Los Angeles, where the district attorney, George Gascon, has ended sentencing enhancements for gang members and lobbied for enhanced charges for the use of guns during the commissions of crimes. According to David Shellenberger, quoting a local cop: 

And guess what, these pampered fools are ...... here in comes again..... watch out now, here it comes......"Hollywood has gone quiet about gun control and they're arming up!"  Remarkable.

Even that air head Alyssa Milano, who spouted off about gun control has had two guns.....two mind you.....did everyone get that....she owns two guns!  These hypocrites are now even taking shooting lessons....because......watch out now.....here it comes again.....they actually think they have a right to defend themselves.  Imagine that!   All the while condemning Rittenhouse and expressing outrage at the verdict of acquittal.  Apparently becoming collateral damage is just fine for others, but that doesn't apply to them.  

It must be nice the be a leftie, because cognitive dissonance is standard in their thought processes, as it means never having to say you're sorry for all the damage they've heaped on America when it comes back to bite them.  They always find it easy accommodate and justify themselves at the expense of others.  Remarkable!

On December 25, 2021 Nadra Enzi in his article, In America’s violent cities, is self-defense the last civil right?, saying:

As much as I love sipping political philosophies like fine wine, now isn’t the time. Of all the important questions to be asked in this manic hour, I offer this one: In America’s violent cities, is self-defense the last civil right or a path to the last rite? As violent crime rises and the leftists’ will to fight it plummets, we who are in the midst of daily destruction must make up our minds.

After listing a series or high profile crimes he goes on to say:

 

Targets (i.e., citizens) still face several waves of attacks from a generation that hasn’t faced consequences for its actions........... Violent young people’s lifestyles change only after persistent pressure is applied over time.  Police officers, mayors, prosecutors, and judges are instrumental but not fast moving. We targets (aka citizens) must exercise our last right of self-defense, and loudly defend the right to do so, or what we call self-defense will become the equivalent of a last rite courtesy of violent offenders.  Fortunately, self-defense is instantaneous.

 

The problem is now these corrupt leftists in leadership roles are criminalizing self defense, as was obvious in the Rittenhouse case, and now even for cops, which I will be addressing in another piece.  In the meanwhile please think about this Thought For the Day.

 

 

 

San Francisco is a Mess, and They're Shocked, Outraged and Terrified! Imagine That!

On November 2021 Michelle Thompson and Brian Stieglitz posted this article, The rich door and the poor door: Terrified millionaire residents of luxury San Fran condo building hit out after adjoining alleyway becomes city's BIGGEST homeless encampment, saying:

Residents of a Tenderloin-area building say they're scared to go outside because of aggressive homeless people who've set up the city's biggest vagrant camp.  They are occupying an alley near their high-end building, where units have fetched more than $1 million.  One man living in the encampment is known to throw feces, while others steal, break into the garage, and litter the area with garbage, attracting rats  ‘This seems to be a safe space for chop shops, drug trafficking,' one woman said.  The encampment grows as data shows that San Francisco's attorney general is taking a more lenient approach to charging criminals with thefts.

  

Well, that's a great big schadenfreude!  

 

These leftists, especially the wealthy leftists, stood atop their own self-righteous mountain and looked down their noses at the "dispicables" and those bitter Americans "clinging to their guns and Bibles".  After all, if you disagreed with them you were either racist, xenophobic, Islamophobic, or crazy!  Or worse yet, you thought the Constitution was supposed to be the law of the land, and even worse than that, you think laws should be enforced, criminals prosecuted and sent to jail.  Imagine that!

 

Well, they've gotten what they wanted, a totally leftist government at every level of government in California. California is now a state totally controlled by lunatics.  So, how's that working out for them?  Apparently not very well, and they're whining about it!  Imagine that! 

  

 

Well, oodie boodie boo, poor little muff muffs.   It turns out the little muff muffs don't like the mess, having a homeless lunatic throw feces at them, thugs breaking into their garages, the litter and garbage everywhere along with the accompanying surge in rats, and I'm sure other pests including bed bugs.  Not to mention the stench from these misfits urinating and crapping wherever they please, or being accosted by them.  Imagine that!

 

In their arrogance they elected officials that are refusing to prosecute criminals, and crime surged. Imagine that!  All of this was perfectly predictable, except to these arrogant, smug and self righteous leftist minds, because ideology really does make smart people dumb.  

 

This isn't an exclusively California problem, it's a massive leftist problem nationwide.  It's the same in NYC, L.A., Chicago, Detroit, Portland, Seattle and Minneapolis, all run by leftists, all going up in flames.  Filled with bums, thugs and misfits, all of whom are a massive non-productive burden socially and economically in these cities, and it's become so rampant, it's a burden on the nation, and now the nation is bring run by the same kind of lunatics who are working to make this America's standard, and they, and their co-conspirators in the media try to convince the nation's "dispicables", and those "clinging to their guns and Bibles", who are the ones who are insane.  Imagine that!  

 

Well, they talked the talk, shouldn't they be required to walk the talk?  Yes, but get this. They don't want to.

Police Work and the Constitution: A Delicate Balance

On March 21, 2021 Bob Unruh posted this article,  Sheriff sued for program that 'harasses' people who haven't committed crimes, saying: 

Deputy confirms intent is to 'make their lives miserable'

As examples of abuse he then uses the Tom Cruise movie, 'Minority Report' about arresting 'future criminals', although they hadn't yet committed a crime, and, "2001: A Space Odyssey," it was HAL, the "Heuristically Programmed Algorithmic" computer", who is ever present, ever watching, and as it turns out, ever scheming.  

 

The article shows the police got carried away with themselves, in effect being judge, jury and executioner.  Harassing people and executing searches without warrants, and generally ignoring the law they're supposed to enforce.  That's not the system we live in, and clearly something needed to be done, so they sued.

 I have to say I really have mixed emotions over this.  On the surface I can easily say I really don't like this kind of thing, and I think most will feel the same, if for no other reason so much of what they did was blatantly illegal.  

But what happens when someone moves into the neighborhood who is disruptive, troublesome, and potentially involved in drugs or other criminal activity that no one can prove?  What then?   

I know of such a case.  A biker, not a gang member, moved into a house in a quiet suburban community, and over night his biker friends were riding up and down the street on their very noisy bikes.  Instead of "walking turf", it seemed like they were "riding turf".  Back and forth, stop sign to stop sign, going nowhere, but making it clear the street was owned by them and they were going to do what they wanted to do whether anyone liked all that noise or not.  And the people living there didn't like it, and after the first week they started calling the police.  

As it turns out the owner of the house had some history with police, and rumor had it that he was involved with drugs, and it wasn't unusual for a police car to be sitting a few houses down from the owner's house just watching.  After about five years the owner ended up in jail, the house went up for sale, and the community was grateful for the attention paid to this situation by the police.  

Let's face it, more often than not the police know who the problem people are in a community.  More often than not they're deliberately paying attention to them, their friends, and what they're all doing.  More often than not these people need to be watched.  And, more often than not they'll be caught committing some crime or other.  It is unfortunate when that attention goes awry as in the case presented in this article, but let's not kid ourselves; there are people the police need to watch because they're doing things that need watching.  

How far should the police go in these kinds of cases?  I don't want to get carried away restricting the police, and I don't want the police to turn into a Gestapo, so what's the solution?  

Watching the police is the job of the rest of us. And every once in a while the police, the government bureaucrats and the elected officials, must be reminded, on a regular basis, they work for us, not the other way around, and they derive their authority from the citizenry, and that authority can be revoked.

The balance between effective law enforcement and the Constitution is a delicate one, and it's gone back and forth over the years, but community involvement makes sure that balance doesn't shift too far either way.  It will never be perfect, but once it becomes established the community is concerned, paying attention, and prepared to deal with any imbalance, a balance ensues we can live with.

I love quoting Alfonso Bedoya in the 1948 movie The Treasure of Sierra Madre:

"Badges,  Badges? We ain't got no Badges! We don't need no Badges! I don't have to show you any stinking badges!"

But that line came from the 1927 book of the same name.  The original line was slightly different.  The line is far more crude, for which I apologize, but I think far more appropriate to the views and character of the people outlined in this piece.  Here is the original line:

"Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and chinga tu madre!"

On February 22, 2020 Andrea Widburg published an article entitled, For Ilhan Omar, the best defense is always...anti-Semitism saying:

On Thursday, Britain's Daily Mail ran a story that America's media have refused to cover: the strong evidence that Ilhan Omar married her own brother, Ahmed Elmi, in order to commit immigration and student loan fraud. Omar's first response was precisely what everyone expected: she claimed anti-Muslim hate speech.

She went on to say: 

By Friday, though, Omar had escalated her rhetoric, not directly but by proxy. She retweeted a post from Humans 4 Human Rights asserting that any challenge to Omar is a Zionist conspiracy.

But did she do what they said she did?  One of the things none of her supporters want to acknowledge, nor do they want anyone else to ask is this.  Did she do what they claim she did!  Has she illegally gamed the American system?  That's the only issue at stake here.  Period! 

The author goes on to say:

The problem with having Omar in Congress isn't just her socialism, no matter how terrible an idea socialism is. Instead, it's her blatant, unrelenting hatred for America and American values.

One expects a person who was welcomed here as a refugee and reached one of the highest pinnacles in the land to show at least smidgen of gratitude...but not Omar. She's the bad guest who moves in and then tries to burn down the house and then tries to burn down the neighbor's house, too.

This idea that blaming racism or Islamophobia is at the heart of the attack may sound great, but factually disputing these criminal claims would be far more effective.  These kind of leftist excuses, logical fallacies, obfuscations of the facts and justifications are always at the heart of the left's  arguments. Not facts, emotion!    

Do what ever it takes to avoid dealing with the facts!  Divert, dilute, and impute the integrity of others, especially the Jews.   "I'ts not my fault, it's the Jews!  And I don't need no stinking facts." 

Paraphrasing the original quote at the start of this piece is appropriate here:

"Facts, to god-damned hell with facts! We have no facts. In fact, we don't need facts. I don't have to show you any stinking facts, it's the god-damned stinking Jews fault. "

Spewing out anti-Semitic swill doesn’t distract from the presented facts, which at this point clearly show she factually did what they said she did.  And until she and her supporters can come up with a factual refutation, what she did was illegal!

Why is that so hard to grasp?  

We Aren't Really Waging a War on Drugs.

On February 15, 2019 Michael W. Chapman posted this article:  "Trump Quotes Xi on Stopping Drug Dealers: 'Death Penalty ... End of Problem", saying:

"During his Rose Garden talk today about declaring a national emergency to deal with the crisis at the southern border, President Donald Trump discussed the scourge of drug dealers and quoted Communist Chinese President Xi Jinping who had told him that China uses the death penalty against narcotics dealers and that ends the problem."

........China had agreed to put the deadly drug fentanyl (synthetic opioid) on its list of illegal products..........."Their criminal list, a drug dealer gets a thing called the death penalty. Our criminal list, a drug dealer gets a thing called 'how about a fine?' And when I asked President Xi, I said do you have a drug problem? ‘No, no, no.’" 

"I said you have 1.4 billion people, what do you mean you have no drug problem?" asked Trump. "‘No, we don't have a drug problem,'" he quoted Xi as saying.  "I said why? ‘Death penalty. We give death penalty to people that sell drugs, end of problem.’".

That may sound a bit harsh, but when you consider the social devastation, misery, suffering and early death these dealers cause to our society, versus the balance of executing drug dealers as a result their impact on society, it's easy to accept.

Many years ago I saw a man discussing China's policy on drug dealers.  It turns out when the Chinese Communists took over China they had the largest drug addicted population in the world per ratio.  According to him they ended that problem in five years.  How?

They went around a arrested those addicted and put them through re-habilitation.  once, twice, and I don't remember if there was a third time or not, but when they reached their limit - they killed them or put them in work camps where they died.  I assume they killed the dealers outright.

Either way:  problem solved.

My Take - Did he say "it's about finding balance"? Balance of what?  These Muslim immigrants aren't going to give back - Muslims don't give, they take - and violence is the heart and soul of Islam.

These leftist loons try claiming the rise in crime isn't an immigration problem.  Really?  That's not historically accurate.  I remember when all this started in Sweden many years ago, and they were shocked at the upsurge in violence in their country. Sweden was one of the safest nations on Earth, and open violence was almost unheard of, at least until these Muslim immigrants from the Middle East and Africa started pouring in.

There's a reason why Sweden has one of the hightest rape statistics in Europe. Muslim immigrants are raping Swedish women at a rate that's shocking, and the Swedish government and media hide what's really going on letting these ravenous wolves tear into the helpless citizens of their society, and if you say anything, you're prosecuted..

Sweden is doomed, just like much of the rest of Europe.  The demographic growth of ethnic Europeans is so bad compared to Muslims they're fast getting past the point of no return. It's being predicted that by 2050 Muslims will be the majority in France.   In the next thirty years, at current trends of demograhic growth Sweden will be unrecognizable, the old Sweden will be irretrievable and the nation will be just as violent as are all other Muslim dominated cultures.  

Furthermore, the birth rates of the ethnic Western populations of Europe is being outstripped 4-1 by Islamic immigrants.  

Along with the Hungarians and Czech's, it's the Poles that will be left to save Europe....once again....... as they did in 1683 at the Battle of Venice, but the demographics are against them.

They may only be able to save themselves.
