Debate: Joe Biden and Donald Trump

“I’m not surprised that I’ve been disbarred by a Bar Association which is a politically and ideologically integral part of the (New York) Democrat one party corrupted court system for a long time. Judges, like Merchan and Engoron in New York City, are selected by local Democrat bosses. These judges, just like in a one-party Communist dictatorship, are not really elected by selected but the Democrat local bosses and often run unopposed.” Mayor Rudy Giuliani July 3, 2024

During the CNN June 27 debate, Joe Biden was supposedly suffering from a cold and that’s why his voice was raspy (to match his feeble demeanor). By the next afternoon his voice was just fine, and Biden was able to scream like a maniac about how he knows right from wrong. Talk about miracles!

The MSM can no longer gaslight the American people (at least the Democrat half) about Joe Biden’s mental acuity issues. Everyone saw it during CNN’s presidential debate. Patriots knew it during the 2020 campaign.

Moreover, leftist news website Axios reported that Joe Biden basically works 10 AM to 4 PM most days because after that he sunsets like many people with early stages of dementia or other mental acuity issues.

Biden's Dementia

They all knew and kept quiet.  Anyone on the right who followed the 2020 presidential campaign knew Joe Biden was having mental acuity issues. There were too many missteps and too many mangled comments that were laughed off, but we knew. The left knew, too, but kept quiet.

Once Biden became President, incidents happened with more frequency. We knew. The left knew, too. Following CNN’s presidential debate the sh*t has hit the fan and now the entire world knows. Our allies know. Our enemies know. Liberal Hillary Frey — excerpt from “We Can’t Unsee What We Saw: The Debate Was Bad. The Spin is Somehow Even Worse” (July 2, 2024)

The debate was shocking, upsetting, nearly impossible to watch. Based on my anecdotal research, lots of folks turned it off after 10 minutes, unable to witness the humiliating performance by our current president. Others held out hope it would turn around in real time, that Biden’s jaw would be vacuumed shut again, eyes refocused.

Still more of us had the sinking, correct assumption: This would not come to pass. We knew what was happening. We were watching the president of the United States, un-teleprompted, fail in a spectacularly human way in front of us. He was not OK. Which meant the impending presidential election was more like an impending disaster.

Conservative Heather MacDonald — excerpt from “Poetic Justice” (July 1, 2024):

At least there is poetic justice in the mess in which the Democratic Party (including most of the media) now finds itself. Had there been more honesty about Biden earlier on, the Democrats might not face the impossible choices now before them as the clock ticks down to the convention in August and the election in November.

With their understanding of hubris, the ancient philosophers and tragedians would not be surprised by the Democrats’ dilemmas. It was Biden’s hubris that birthed Thursday’s debate. His camp insisted on the unexpectedly Trump-taming debate rules. And it may again be Biden’s hubris that overrides an honest assessment of how damaged his electoral chances have become.

Trump’s best chance to retake the White House is if Biden stays in the race; almost any other contender would have a better hope of beating Trump than Biden. And it was Biden’s fealty to identity politics that led him to select an unappealing black female as running mate. Now that black female is the biggest obstacle to elevating a stronger contender (Gavin Newsom would be the strongest).

The day after the debate, Biden insisted that he was not pulling out of the race. Was this assertion just a face-saving strategy to buy some time for the party to come up with alternatives? Perhaps. But an Aeschylus or Sophocles, unblinkered about human folly, would like take Biden at his word.

Comments regarding Joe Biden following his debate debacle: Republican Tucker Carlson (tweet): “Biden is done. Bet on it. Too many prominent Democrats have suggested he’s brain damaged. They can’t walk that back. They have to remove him, and they will. The only question is when.”
