floccinaucinihilipilification - the action or habit of estimating something as worthless.

Normally words such as this are nothing more than curiosities, and even one

cited as the longest word in the Oxford English Dictionary, and allegedly created to address grave medical problems, it is none the less a "factitious" word and created purely for the purpose of being the longest word, and is not in official use anywhere. 

However, floccinaucinihilipilification is an actual word in use - not often I have no doubt and normally used to confuse and impress - but an actual word never the less.  I chose to highlight it because the first thing I thought of when reading the definition was the way in which leftists, especially environmentalists, so haughtily dismiss the need for pesticides, pharmacueticals, vaccinations, synthetic fertilizers, "fossil" fuels and all else that makes modern living possible.

Okay, now for the best part - how does anyone pronounce it?
