Politics and the Culture of Hysteria

With all the hysteria revolving about this latest "pandemic" the world's population is now thoroughly protected......from the facts.......... with an iron ring of ignorance.  The source of that ignorance?  The corrupt Deep Staters and a media that is stunningly uninterested in history, reality or facts, especially when any of that comes into conflict with the latest leftist narrative of the day.

Society is overwhelmed because the ignorant, misinformed and uninformed massively outnumber those who actually know what they're talking about, or perhaps I should say know what they're talking about and are actually willing to say it.  The consequence?  America now faces what can only be called a scientific McCarthyism that is alive and vibrant. 

 To put it bluntly, even in countries with high levels of education, there is too often a high degree of scientific illiteracy.............being highly educated can still entail a condition of extreme scientific illiteracy or what Thorstein Veblen called "trained incapacity."-  Thomas R. DeGregori

If Americans were rational and truly informed, and not being propagandized by a corrupt media, lying politicians and corrupt deep state government agents, snake oil salesman like Fauci would be publicly ridiculed, hounded out of office, and charged with crimes.  However, we're living in a culture where evil is good and good is evil, and the evil are being praised, quoted and armed with powers that allow them to continue down their destructive path, to the detriment of America. 

 “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive.… [T]hose who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”

Thomas Sowell had this to say about academic integrity:

The idea behind giving professors lifetime tenure is that this will enable them to speak out freely. But it would be hard to name any other occupation with a more cowardly record than academics, who have been giving in to politically correct campus bullies ever since the 1960s.

The Holy Grail for most scientists is not truth but research grants, and that often requires accepting false narratives to get that money.  The goal of these self-serving invertebrates in government, academia, education, along with support from the media is to get out "their truth", and they don’t care how many lies they have to tell to do it.  They're dancing with the Devil, and when you dance with the Devil you don't name the tune, you don't pick the dance and you may not be able to leave the dance floor. 

Dennis Prager makes this stunning, but valid statement:

It cannot be stated often enough that our universities generally are run by fools who are breeding a generation of fools. There are, of course, many exceptions, but these exceptions have little impact on the deconstruction of civilization and the breeding of anti-intellectuals taking place at our universities.

With a mentally challenged President of the United States "allegedly" in charge, we're facing startlingly incompetent policies based on lies and alarmism, and supported by the very institutions that were created to prevent such insanity.  Instead, we get scientific enablers who lend support to government induced hysteria, and the long term consequences of that are going to be nightmarish.
