Pope Francis Honors Dutch Abortion Activist with Pontifical Medal of Knighthood

Pope Francis has conferred the title of “Commander of the Pontifical Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great” on Lilianne Ploumen, a Dutch politician and vocal agitator for abortion rights.   Last year, Ploumen founded a pro-abortion organization called She Decides, which offers funding and support for international NGOs that provide, facilitate or campaign for abortion.

In an email to the Catholic Herald, Ms. Ploumen said that she was “very honoured” by the pontifical medal, which was sent via the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs last month.  In an interview with Dutch radio, Ploumen said she views the honor as a sign of the pope’s progressivism, as well as acknowledgement for her work in supporting abortion rights.  Ms. Ploumen said that the award came after much personal investment in contacts with the Vatican, which she defined as “lobbying.”.........To Read More.....

My Take - This article states:  Christians and non-Christians are appalled by the Vatican’s decision to acknowledge a woman with such a disgusting legacy, but the Church insists that the award does not promote abortion or any of the Ploumen’s other efforts, but was meant to be a “diplomatic practice.” Deputy spokesperson of the Holy See Press Office, Paloma Garcia Ovejero says the award is based on Ploumen’s frequent presence in Vatican affairs and is not intended to promote her politics.

The level of hypocrisy by the church leadership over this is absolutely appalling.  I determined some time ago this Pope was a heretic and have said so in past posts.  I've also asked if there's some mechanism that allows for firing a Pope.  There's none as far as I can tell, and I keep asking - who picked this guy?  I have to believe he's not alone in his heresy within the upper echelons of the church.

This article states at the end the Pope in times past has affirmed the Church's stand on abortion, but what people do is far more important than what they say.   When a person who promotes every social program that's totally inimical to the church’s teachings you have to know one thing for sure about this Pope - this Pope is a heretic.
