Fear is growing in immigrant communities that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is getting ready to launch massive raids across California — a threat that activists and politicians say is retaliation against the Golden State’s bold “sanctuary” policies. ICE director Thomas Homan recently told Fox News that the agency will significantly increase enforcement across the state and warned California to “hold on tight.” And a report by the San Francisco Chronicle this week said ICE is planning raids targeting Northern California cities, with the goal of arresting more than 1,500 immigrants.
Advocates say they’re prepared for the crackdowns, with hundreds of Bay Area volunteers training to act as “first responders” at homes and workplaces where the raids are expected to take place.

My Take - There were a number of comments that clearly demonstrate the public understands this issue clearly.
- Quite a few statements really stand out here. “They’re there to be legal observers — to make sure … that constitutional rights are not being violated,” Ruiz said. “SB 54 does not prevent ICE from doing its work,” he said. “It just prevents ICE from arresting somebody or detaining somebody without a warrant — that’s due process.” California Sens. Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein sent a letter to Homan Wednesday expressing concern that “rather than focusing efforts on violent criminals, raids carried out in neighborhoods and workplaces could result in the deportation of individuals who are simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.” ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS do not have U.S. Constitutional rights, only U.S. citizens do. “Wrong place at the wrong time”, their right place is in their country of citizenship unless they are here under a legal process.
- Those in the wrong place are the illegals, and deserve to be caught. As for the wrong time, anytime is the wrong time to be in the US illegally.
- Sweep them all up and transport them to the border and kick them out. Teach them, and california, a lesson about obeying federal law. And while you’re at it, scoop up all the politicians, police chiefs, and any other supporters of “sanctuary” status, and dump them on the other side of the border too.
- The politicians deserve to be jailed for aiding and abetting the crime of illegal entry, and they should get one count for every day the illegal is in their jurisdiction. The California three strikes and your out should get them life in prison.
- What a sewer California has become and the sad thing is the ICE Officers are put at more risk, because of the scum in California.
- Remember that FEAR is the well sharpened weapon of the manipulating power seeking Democrat. Those immigrants of LEGAL standing, as well as illegals who once here have obeyed the laws HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR,,,,,but another 20 years of Democrat Dominated and deteriorated California. Focus on the head of the snakes,,,,the guys with the bull horns, the college professors, the guys who declare themselves and government departments a sanctuary for crimes and law breaking, and soon the protesting will abate to make room on the streets for the enforcers. If the heads of these disobedient government agencies are Democrat, then let the cards fall where they will, and the wild card disobedient law-breaking Jokers just fall period. When the head Nazi’s were driven out of government and denied access to decision making, Germany shortly again became civilized and peaceful. The same will occur in California.
- Going to get ugly? And I suppose gangs of illegals shooting, robbing, and raping people is the Mona Lisa. It’s already ugly.
- Not everything is ugly,,,,,the ugly truth about immigrant law breaking and the $Trillions in social costs to this nation has yet to be totally exposed. It takes a President with the courage to speak the ugly truth,,,you know, the kind that sets honest truth seeking men free,,,free from the liars who seek to enslave minds, purses and bank accounts in nation destroying debt.
