George Stephanopoulos is a Left Wing Operative and Not a Real Journalist: I'm Shocked, Shocked I Tell You!

To quote a man who – if he had really lived – would have to be considered one of the world's unique moralists, Captain Renault, played by Claude Rains in Casablanca as he’s ordered to close Rick’s American Café for political reasons:

Renault: I am shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!

Employee of Rick's: [hands Renault money] Your winnings, sir.

Renault: Oh, thank you, very much. Everybody out at once!

On May 16, 2015 Onan Coca posted an article titled, “Media Realizes that Stephanopoulos May Actually be a Liberal Activist and Not a Journalist!” She starts out saying: 

“The Washington Post’s Erik Wemple says what everyone else is thinking when it comes to George Stephanopoulos’ recent interview of Clinton Cash author Peter Schweitzer. Instead of simply being a good interview about an important book at the start of a Presidential election campaign… perhaps the interview was actually an attempt by a liberal activist and Clinton ally to put out a fire before it began raging. 

 

We’re all talking about this media stuff. But, yes, I think that when George Stephanopoulos goes on with a major figure and talks about, you know, the “Clinton Cash” book or whatever, I could sense that he was going after Peter Schweitzer. At the time, it looked like legitimate journalism. In retrospect, it looks like activism”.

And everyone's shocked?  Over the weekend a number of Fox News shows had their talking heads (for clarity sake, I actually like some of the talking heads) do some commentary on this issue. I might point out since it wasn’t corruption by a conservative the MSM pretty much ignored the issue. 

 

But there’s no liberal bias….or it’s very limited ....Right?  After all…. there’s no such thing as a conspiracy. Right? 

 

Of course there are those small minded individuals who will wonder if it’s possible there’s a bigger reason why there’s so little coverage by the left wing media. Is it possible this is a deeper story than just good old George? Is it possible they’re all guilty of this kind of stuff? Nah, that can’t be true! They’re full of liberal purity, like the Clintons, and the Kennedy’s.

There were two things that I found amazing.

 

First off, it amazes me just how many people actually watch this guy. Oh, I know the numbers on the MSM are dwindling, but he still has quite a following. I never watched him for more than a few minutes total since his very first show. Why? Because he made his bones as a Clintonista left wing operative and a spin master. It’s part and parcel of who he is. Why would anyone think he would change? He just gets paid a whole lot more from ABC for spinning the truth than he did when he was paid by the Clinton administration for spinning the truth.

Secondly, it never ceases to amaze me how many in the media, including Karl Rove, who attempted to claim Stephanopoulos had made the transition in everyone’s mind from a Democratic activist to a journalist. It reminds me of a time when conservative commentators– perhaps I should say seeming conservative commentators - were crying crocodile tears a few years ago because of the New York Times financial problems, fearing the Old Gray Hag would go out of business. 

All that hand wringing irrespective of the well known historical facts showing the NYT has been a left wing treasonous canker sore on the butt of journalism since the Roosevelt administration. One reader pointed out his operative status was only a “secret from other media types, which explains why you can't trust any of them, because at best they're only a 5 watt bulb, when a 100 watt bulb is what is needed for that type of job”.

Greg Gutfeld – one of Fox’s talking heads I like – is quoted in the article as she says:

“there is even more reason for concern for ABC. Because on the heels of the Stephanopoulos – Schweitzer interview, the Clintons used the piece to try to discredit the book and its author. They sourced each other, that’s the great thing. It’s like the Clinton campaign fact checks Schweizer’s book, and then Stephanopoulos uses that in the interview and then Clinton goes back to the Stephanopoulos interview and says,“see.” So it’s this little circle of sourcing each other. It’s like two criminals providing each other an alibi.”

But as for the rest of them - I guess they’re just “shocked, shocked” to find there’s corruption going on here, even as they attempt to find reasons to allow these people to continue in their corruption. Apparently they also need to go along to get along in order to play the game.

 

Here’s another interesting quote from Casablanca I find applicable.

Renault: Rick, there are many exit visas sold in this café, but we know that you've never sold one. That is the reason we permit you to remain open.

Rick: Oh? I thought it was because I let you win at roulette.

Renault: That is another reason.

Nothing is ever as it seems, except to remember that corruption is always part of the human equation. However, since leftism has no moral foundation we should expect higher levels of corruption in everything they do. In their case it’s not a conspiracy. It’s intrinsic to leftist character! Here's one more quote that could help define most of the media, conservative and liberal:

Renault: I have no conviction, if that's what you mean. I blow with the wind, and the prevailing wind happens to be from Vichy.

The difference between Captain Renault and the media? He was honest about his corruption! Now we have clarity!

Academia is a Cavern of Darkness

 On October 19 John M. Grondelski posted this article on American Thinker, Indigestion, Ethics, and College Protests, discussing an article by Ezekiel Emanuel who teaches bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania  entitled, “The Moral Deficiencies of a Liberal Education, in the October 17 New York Times" saying:
 

Emanuel............ bemoans the “moral blinders” so prominently on display on various college campuses — especially, but not only, elite ones like Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Penn — in the initial reaction to Hamas’s terror attack on Israel.  That undergraduates could demonstrate in support of barbarians who killed women and children makes Emanuel declare: “We have failed.”

 

Grondelski goes on to say:

 

Professor Emanuel is right that there is something deeply rotten on the modern college campus. But he doesn’t identify what.

Well, since academia is a sewer of intellectual and moral rot, there's a reason "he doesn't identify what" that deep rot is, and he thinks more ethics classes will do the trick.  Well, let's face it, he's an academic, so I'm not shocked he can't identify what's wrong, and so offers meaningless solutions.  He's part of the problem.  However, I'm willing to be fair and help him understand, not that it will do any good.  So, here, allow me to properly define all of this.

This academic moral and intellectual problem in academia is a foundational social paradigm problem. 

 

America was created from the bottom up based on Judaic/Christian principles and ethics, by people who were practicing Christians who actually believed in those values. It's true they were far from perfect, but that's a separate issue, so spare me that admonition, that doesn't alter the fact those values were the foundational social paradigms that molded America.

Everything is "The Basics", and here's the foundational source of all that moral equivocation and ambivalence in academia.  We've filled our institutions with atheists, Muslims, racists, anti-semites, anti-Christians, anti-America sewer trout, communist/socialist/Marxists, and anti-whites, who now teach nothing but hate, discontent, and insane propaganda telling these young minds to hate everything about America.  Worst of all, the nation is filled with entirely too many nominal Jews and Christians who allow it, and even support these institutions with their donations, along with sending their children to these toxic viper's pits.

None of that is fixable at the university level, or by the government. It can only be fixed by American society embracing it's past. But we've allowed leftists with their immigration policies to fill America with an unending list of  virulent  anti-America immigrants, and they've destroyed any sense of harmony in our demographic makeup.  

 

My greatest fear?  A worldwide economic collapse that I believe will occur within the next few years, because I fear that will bring about serious levels of violence nationally, and worldwide.

Stanford Law students that shouted down federal judge demand reporter hide their names and obscure their faces

Apparently, you don’t have to be that bright to get into Stanford’s law school, formerly regarded as highly competitive and demanding in its legal education. The budding totalitarians there who don’t believe in free speech for people with whom they disagree also apparently believe that they have to right to control news coverage of their heinous acts.  Are they ashamed of what they did, or do they just worry that they may not be able to cash in after graduation with lucrative offers or prestigious clerkships?

Washington Free Beacon reporter Aaron Sibarium “appeared Sunday on Fox News and shared his blunt response to "hypocritical" Stanford Law School students who have demanded their names be removed from his reporting about their controversial activism.”........

 

"They didn't just shout down a sitting federal judge," Sibarium explained to Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Will Cain. "They also posted the names and faces of ... every [Federalist Society] board member ... around the school in a concerted effort to shame their peers and pressure them out of hosting the event. And then those exact same students emailed me to say, 'Oh, by naming us in the story, you're ginning up harassment.' So, it's really quite hypocritical."............To Read More....

My Take - All bullies are cowards, and that's a constant theme among leftists.  Bullies filled with self-righteous hate. The foundational values of the left are hate, greed, envy, lust and violence.  Hate is the left's foremost foundational moral value.  

Are the Woke Morally Superior?

Defeating Wokeism isn’t merely a political, legal, or even cultural battle. We must also address what ultimately fuels Wokeness on a personal level: a delusional sense of moral superiority because it’s that moral superiority that is the vehicle for the left’s real power grab.

Are the Woke, in fact, morally superior? If you ask them, they certainly are. Their thinking seems to run something like this:

The world consists of people with different skin colors, genders, sexual orientations, etc. We are tolerant. The un-Woke aren’t. Therefore, we are morally superior.

This worldview is seductive. The basic idea is “I’m a good person, and you’re not.” Moral superiority is an addictive drug. But every claim in the above argument is off.

Take the concept that “The world consists of people with many different skin colors, genders, sexual orientations, and so on.” That seems true enough at first look. Yet the error lies in its implicit assumptions and in how it’s used. It implies that humanity’s most essential and important qualities can be reduced to these traits: skin color, gender, and sexual orientation........Clearly, the Woke actually aren’t tolerant of much beyond themselves. From vegan diets to bug-eating to cannibalism in the space of months!  What's next?  (Don't answer that question; I'm not ready.)  Just what were all of Jeffrey Epstein's New World Order clients getting up to on pedo-island?  (Nope, don't answer that either; I can't take it.)  There was a time when the numerous rape allegations against Bill Clinton seemed shocking.  Leave it to Democrats to celebrate such aberrant, abhorrent behavior that Clinton's crimes are rendered just an amuse-bouche before the cannibal communists' pervy, gut-wrenching main course.

A Great Reset that is intentionally unleashing life-altering inflation, mass illegal immigration, child sexualization, and societal disintegration is a conscious attempt to crush Western civilization and drag humanity back to a darker, more dreary age.  Do you like windmills?  So did your distant ancestors during the Middle Ages!  Do you think of mass starvation as more of a season than a rare tragedy?  So did every generation of humanity right up until the recent Industrial Era!  Do you worship Mother Earth, interpret bad weather as punishment from the gods, and view human sacrifice as absolutely necessary for a good harvest?  So did the Green New Deal Aztecs of Mesoamerica!  Look at you — you're so "diverse" and "multicultural"!

Build Back Better isn't a political platform; it's a playbook for returning humanity to a state of early death and enduring misery.  It's pure black magic, a pagan ritual spilled out into the open and cursing all it touches.

What does the Left want with regard to religion in America? Here, as in many other areas, the left seeks not mere reform but revolution. This is not to say that they expect to accomplish their aims in one fell swoop, like the Jacobins or Bolsheviks—using force and terror to throw down one faith and erect another in its place. Rather, they have been pursuing their revolution—patiently, peacefully, and legally—for the last seven decades. Nevertheless, they seek to fundamentally change religion’s place in the American polity.

Simply put, the Left wants to dethrone and subordinate traditional Christianity. They wish to prevent it from ruling America’s public culture and force it to obey a public culture, one the Left is busy establishing and enforcing. The Failure of Roe v. Wade

Apart from all the constitutional fine points in respect of abortion, the grant by the Supreme Court of certiorari on yet another challenge underscores the failure of Roe v. Wade. We are coming up on 50 years since the Nine, in a seven to two decision, concluded that a right to privacy protects abortion. Yet the country and our states remain bitterly divided — and, in some ways, seem to be growing more so every year.

The current case arose from Mississippi. It challenges a law the Magnolia State passed prohibiting nearly all abortions after the baby has a gestational age of 15 weeks. The law was struck down in federal district court. Mississippi appealed to the riders of the 5th Circuit, who sustained the district court ruling. The most memorable part of it, though, was a concurrence, by Judge James Ho, that is just flabbergasting. Here’s how it begins:

“Nothing in the text or original understanding of the Constitution establishes a right to an abortion. Rather, what distinguishes abortion from other matters of health care policy in America — and uniquely removes abortion policy from the democratic process established by our Founders — is Supreme Court precedent. The parties and amici therefore draw our attention not to what the Constitution says, but to what the Supreme Court has held.”

...............That, incidentally, was predicted by no less a sage than Justice Antonin Scalia in his historic dissent in Casey. Jonathan Turley: Congress May Have Restrained Capitol Police to Preserve False Lafayette Park Narrative

Constitutional law expert Jonathan Turley argued Wednesday that Congress may have prevented the U.S. Capitol Police from preparing for the January 6 riot to protect a false narrative about the reason Lafayette Square was cleared after riots in 2020.

Turley referred to an internal report by Capitol Police Inspector General Michael A. Bolton that revealed the force declined to deploy its Civil Disturbance Unit, and was ordered not to use the most powerful means at its disposal to disperse crowds.

The report apparently confirmed that there was a reluctance to send the National Guard to assist the Capitol Police due to “optics.” The Capitol Police report to the leadership of Congress, including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Turley noted that Democrats and the media had promoted the false claim that President Donald Trump had used tear gas to clear “peaceful protesters” from Lafayette Square so that he could walk across it for a “photo-op” at the church across the street.

The Black Lives Matter protest at Lafayette Square, across from the White House, had included a riot that resulted in injuries to dozens of police officers. Journalists — including one from Breitbart News — were assaulted by those in the square.

Then-President-elect Joe Biden repeated the false claim on January 7, in the aftermath of the Capitol riot. As Breitbart News noted at the time, Biden recycled several false statements about Lafayette Square that he and his party used throughout 2020.

Turley noted that Attorney General William Barr had already ordered countermeasures — including perimeter fencing — before Trump’s walk across the park. He argued further that Congress seems to have restrained itself from deploying that fencing, or using the National Guard, precisely because it did not want to contradict the false Lafayette Square narrative:...........To Read More....

Our Group's Take - I knew that the media and the leftists claims about Lafayette Park or false but I didn't realize just how false! Nor did I know a number of the different facts that were involved in that which are reported in this article. For example, I didn't know that dozens of police officers had already been injured although I knew that there had been attacks on them with frozen bottles and other such projectiles. I also didn't know that some journalists had been attacked.  I just can't get over how grossly and blatantly dishonest the left is - including its top leaders such as Biden, Obama, Harris, Pelosi, Schiff, Schumer, etc etc etc and of course including the mainstream media.

My Take - The moral foundation of the left knows no boundaries and is predicated on hate, envy, greed, violence.  Corruption and mendacity are the heart of leftism and that corruption knows no boundaries.   

Indefinite Incarceration for Protesters With ‘Wrong’ Politics

Joe Biden’s Justice Department wants to keep Richard Barnett in jail—indefinitely.  The Arkansas man, photographed showboating inside House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office on January 6, has been behind bars for more than three months. Barnett occupied Pelosi’s office for six whole minutes; he absconded with a piece of mail and left her a note that read “Nancy, Bigo was here, you Bitch.”

The desk belonged to a Pelosi aide, not the speaker herself. Several reporters and photographers who also happened to be in Pelosi’s office at the very same time prompted Barnett to sit at the desk and “act natural” as they took a series of photos.........

Judge Beryl Howell sided with the Justice Department and ordered Barnett, a retired firefighter with no criminal record, transported to Washington, D.C. where he remains incarcerated awaiting trial next month. (He is one of more than three dozen Capitol protesters denied bail and currently held in solitary confinement conditions at the D.C. Correctional Treatment Facility. My Take - So, governments release criminals convicted of very real, and very serious crimes, because of the coronavirus, and imprison people who've committed no crime without bail.  Did I get that right?  Now, how could anyone find fault with that. 

The Face of Evil

Michel Foucault is the intellectual godfather of the modern Left. I have always found this fact strange, as his theories, to the extent they are intelligible, are obviously wrong. But they formed the basis for such leftist staples as identity politics and sexual confusion, and so, coherent or not, they were welcomed enthusiastically by liberals.

Foucault has long been known to have been, personally, a sinister figure. At the Epoch Times, Roger Simon writes about recent revelations of Foucault’s history. Roger starts with the scandal of Major League Baseball weighing in on behalf of voter fraud, one of endless instances of virtue signaling and moral narcissism. Then, on to Foucault:

[J]ust who is this godfather of “woke”?  Well, there’s a lot of convoluted graduate school rhetoric, but it turns out the reality of the man may not be very flattering. Rumors of a certain amount of perversion have surrounded Foucault for some time but now testimony has surfaced that is distinctly “unwoke.”

I am not sure I agree with Roger here. Are the “woke” actually opposed to perversion? I doubt it............ 

The interesting question, to me, is whether a man who is a moral monster can nevertheless produce sound philosophy. I think the answer is No. On the Left, it is fashionable to nit-pick great men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Winston Churchill. But the men and women who founded what we now know as conservatism were good, if inevitably imperfect, people.

Conversely, the icons of the Left–Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Michel Foucault and many more–were hideously deformed and evil. I think a flawed man or woman–which is to say, a normal person–can produce sound political and social philosophy. But I think it is impossible for a moral leper like Michel Foucault to produce anything good or useful. Impeachment II: Vicious Leftist Corruption and Insanity

I've been watching or listening to much of the first day of the Senate impeachment trial of Donald Trump. This first day was, as I understand it, supposed to be about whether the Senate actually has jurisdiction to try a former president, or if doing so would be unconstitutional. The day began with an allotted two hours for the Democrat impeachment managers to lay out their argument, followed by the same for Trump's lawyers.

I have to say that the Democrat impeachment manager's approach was disgraceful, and downright dishonest time and again. It was mainly one massive appeal to emotion (a logical fallacy, that is, an argument tactic that is false from the get-go but hopes to win simply because it tugs on one's heart strings to elicit empathy/sympathy). 

They began with a 20 minute video compilation of the protests and riot at the Capitol on the 6th, which of course was horrifying to everyone - both on the right and the left - but has nothing to do with either the question of Senate jurisdiction for this trial or even anything to do with whether Trump was in any way responsible for creating it. 

The entire presentation after that was heavily dramatized, one emotional breathless statement after another - all just as irrelevant to the issue of jurisdiction and for the most part even to the issue of whether Trump had anything to do with "inciting insurrection."

Raskin, the lead Impeachment Manager, even worked himself up to the point of a quavery voice, seeming to hold back tears (more than once! And I'll bet anything it was entirely fake), using the idiocracy of "gee, I even told my family that going with me that day would be safe, but we wound up fearing for our lives, and 'gasp' (chokes back crocodile tears again) my daughter wound up saying she never wanted to go back to the Capitol again!  Oh, the horrors!!

Raskin even had the unmitigated gall to use his son's own suicide (entirely unrelated to this issue!) in his appeal to emotion. It's disgusting. Even if what he was saying was true and heartfelt (highly doubtful), it's got nothing to do with whether the Senate has jurisdiction to impeach a former president, or even with whether Trump was in any way responsible for the rioting. It's just attempted guilt by association - "this horrible thing happened, we must have someone, anyone, to blame, let's blame the guy we hate, Trump!"

Beyond that, they blatantly lied multiple times, lying both directly and by omission, did a ton of psychological projection, twisted people's words and took them grossly out of context, etc. all so they could then build factual sounding but grossly false conclusions out of their construct. They even cited Jonathon Turley (leftist/liberal constitutional scholar) multiple times, claiming that he supposedly very recently believed it was constitutional to impeach after someone is out of office, and only changed his tune in the last few weeks. They even displayed some of Turley's writings with highlighted portions. All while failing to tell people that those excerpts were from two or three decades ago, and that in the interim with more experience and research, Turley decided that in fact trying a former official is clearly not constitutional at all - and that he has shown why quite clearly multiple times.

Oh, and ironically, the Democrat impeachment managers even b*tched that Trump is saying he shouldn't be referred to as President, and that he must be referred to as President Trump... only to turn right around and claim that there's no problem with Chief Justice Roberts of the Supreme Court not presiding over the trial, because, gee, the Constitution says that the Supreme Court Chief Justice only presides over presidents - and that there's only one president at a time, and that's Biden. So, magically, according to the Democrats, Trump is actually 'Schrodinger Trump' - both President and not-President at the same time.

It would all be pathetically laughable, if this weren't so serious. This is nothing more than the highest level of our elected government, Congress - well, those on the left in Congress - in a nakedly partisan power grab and transparent attempt to falsely manipulate the system, abuse their power, and thus eliminate their biggest political opponent in 2024 - who they've tried time and again to perpetrate a soft coup on since literally before he even took office in 2020!!!

All at the expense of their actual duties; dealing with the pandemic, unemployment, the massive federal debt, and so on. You know, actually governing the nation. But hey, it's a great distraction to help avoid people noticing that Biden has no pandemic plan and it's Trump's work that got us the vaccines in record time - including distribution - that Biden is already flooding the nation with illegal aliens most of whom aren't even tested for coronavirus before being released into the nation, that he's already killing thousands of jobs, kow-towing to China, Iran and so on while ticking off our allies like Israel and Canada, driving energy prices higher, and all sorts of other actions which are clearly harmful to our nation.

Ostensibly because of both the Wuhan virus and a small, disorganized, intensely stupid raid on the Capitol, Biden had a very weird inauguration. A few people were in the stands, while the mall was filled with National Guard troops (required to be there) and flags. However, there were well-attended events in other American cities. These events took the form of anti-Biden rallies from leftists. It turns out that the Bernie Sanders coalition is still angry. 

On the morning of Biden’s inauguration, John Dietrich wrote a prescient post pointing out that the real danger to the Biden administration doesn’t come from conservatives. Instead, it comes from leftists:

Progressives have fostered these protest organizations.  Now that they are in power will they be able to control them? They may find that they have created a Frankenstein's monster.

There are many reasons why the demonstrations will not be easy to stop.  Social injustice and police brutality are only a small part of the reason for demonstrating.  Many people riot to escape boredom which has been intense with the Corona lockdown. Many view riots as a fun pastime.  Riots can also be an opportunity to pick up some new tennis shoes or a wide screen TV. There are few penalties for rioting and some municipalities actually encourage protests.  Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was not the only major who instructed officers to allow protestors to express themselves and that “we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well.”

The new administration’s enemies from the left didn’t wait even a day to begin their protests.

In Portland, Antifa made plain its disdain for the new administration’s political ideology. Rather than going only after federal buildings, as it did during the Trump administration, Antifa’s goons also attacked the Oregon office of the Democrat party. They even burned a Biden flag.

Moral Foundations of the Left

Definition leads to clarity.  Clarity leads to understanding!

Over the years I've made this point over and over again:  The only consistent moral foundation of the left is to do anything it takes to get and hold power over everyone else.  While true, that truth is predicated on the functional morality of leftists worldwide and through all of the left's misanthropic and morally defective history. 

Hate, greed, envy and violence.  

One example of that is the current situation with President Trump coming down with this coronavirus.  Here's how the left has responded:

Texas Dem: Hard to Imprison Trump If He Dies from Coronavirus - Texas House of Representatives member Gene Wu (D-Houston) lamented on Twitter Friday evening that it would be “hard to serve a prison sentence” if President Donald Trump dies of Coronavirus. Not long after, the tweet was deleted and replaced with well wishes for a full recovery. The southwest Houston politician did not offer an apology for the original statement.

Okay, he's a politician so he apologized, but his first reaction was the perfect example of who he is and what the left stands for and does. Then there are these:

They Go Low: Leftists Outside Hospital Chant “F*ck Trump” “I Hope He Dies!”- President Trump was in the Walter Reed hospital for less than 12 hours on Friday before leftists gathered outside to chant for the president’s demise. Who in the world goes to a hospital and demonstrates for the death of anyone?  What kind of people are these?  Who has the time or the interest to do such things?   Can you imagine what the media would have done if conservatives did that to Ruth Bader Ginsburg?  It would have been 24/7 of righteous indignation from CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times, and the rest of the propaganda wing of the Democrat party, AKA, the main stream media. 

But no conservatives did any of that!  While conservatives won't miss her at all, and many, including me, believe her passing will be good for the federal judiciary, the Supreme Court and the nation, not one conservative I know of, or talked to, including me, wished on her all the suffering she had to have gone through! 

Nor did any conservative I know, or have read, would ever have dreamed of doing the things the left is doing now over Trump's health.  

Since she passed, there has been a lot of discussion onnegative impact on America, including efforts to destroy the Constitution, the murder of the innocent unborn, forcing racial and sexual diversity on the nation, undermining traditional marriage and family, and to the point that some, including me, felt she bordered on treason. 

All these were, and are, highly emotional issues, and yet not one of those conservative writers, including me, expressed happiness she suffered, or for that matter died, or ever dreamed of holding mass demonstrations to wish the worst on her.

Leftists, progressives, Democrats, liberals, socialists, communists (oops, sorry, I'm repeating myself)  constantly harp how they're the true proponents of compassion and understanding, all the while insisting conservatives are mean spirited and heartless.  Well, reality tells another tale, we just have to separate narrative over reality, and pay attention to reality over the narrative. 

Are you paying attention?
