I subscribe to a number of geopolitical sites, and while most of them are pretty good, there's one that has both good and stupid commentaries. In one of the ones I recently read it claimed if Israel retaliated against this inhuman attack on their population it would alienate and inflame the regional powers and the Muslim world as a whole.
So, let's see if I understand that properly. We're expected to believe it's possible to make people who hate you, and want to kill you, and wipe out your entire population, will be even more hateful and angry if you something they don't like?
That was in a major geopolitical site from an
"expert". Remarkable! I sometimes wonder what planet these people are from, and then I realize, they're from the Planet Academia, and that explains it all.
As Golda Meir once said: "How can you have peace with someone who wants to kill you?" That's always true when dealing with activists with a vision and a philosophy. They want what they want and could care less what anyone else thinks, and nothing will assuage their anger and hate.
A look at who's attacking Israel October 8, 2023 By Russ McSwain - Why are there people in the Gaza Strip? Here is some context for the question. Canada is 16% larger than the U.S. but has only 11% of our population. Australia is almost the size of the U.S. but has only two thirds the population of Canada. Why don't people flood all that empty space? They can't make a living there. Canada is too frozen and Australia is too dry to support large populations. How do the estimated two million residents of Gaza support themselves? They don't. They subsist on welfare from rich Arab states and Iran. As with most pure welfare recipients, they have little incentive to improve their lot. Their per capita income is $5,600. They could join much of the Middle East and migrate to Europe or Turkey. They could travel to Jordan (income $9,200) or neighboring Egypt (income $11,600)................ fully expect apologists to argue that Gazans work hard. My questions are at what, and to what end?...........
New Attacks Target Israel From Syria - Spencer Brown | October 10, 2023 - After the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces reported new attacks being launched against the country from Syria in the wake of a handful of attacks launched from Lebanon against northern cities. The incoming fire from Syria — officially unidentified projectiles but reported by some to be mortars — did not hit any kibbutzim or populated areas in the Golan Heights where Israel is bordered by Syria, according to posts from the IDF on X, formerly Twitter, and Israeli forces have already responded with counter launches targeting the projectiles' point of origin. ..............
16 tons of rocket-making material discovered heading from Turkey to Gaza in September - By - A Hamas top dog dismissed the report as “lies.” But now we know. “Israel says it found 16 tons of rocket-making substance headed from Turkey to Gaza,” Reuters, September 14, 2023: JERUSALEM, Sept 14 (Reuters) – Israel’s customs authority said on Thursday it found 16 tons of material used for rocket production during an inspection of a shipment from Turkey headed to Gaza, which the ruling Hamas group dismissed as a fabrication. “The occupation is forging lies as a pretext to tighten the blockade on Gaza,” Qassem told Reuters….The customs authority said it had stopped for inspection in July two containers carrying 54 tons of what were supposed to be bags of plaster. A lab test confirmed some of the bags contained ammonium chloride, the authority added, which it said was used by groups in Gaza “to produce rockets that are eventually launched towards Israel”...............
UN Wants to Raise $294M to Help “Palestinians” - By - Will the money end up funding terrorists? The only question is how much of that will we be paying. But sure. Why not pump another $294 million into the terror nests after all the billions we’ve already spent subsidizing them? What could possibly go wrong? The United Nations issues an emergency appeal for $294 million to address “the most urgent needs” in Gaza and the West Bank. The funds would be used to help more than 1.2 million people, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs says, stressing that aid groups do not have “the resources required to adequately respond to the full range of needs of vulnerable Palestinians.” You could address some pretty urgent needs for nearly $300 million.............
When Gaza has Money, Hamas has Rockets - October 18, 2023 By John F. Di Leo - Whether you grew up watching reality law enforcement programs or fictional mafia movies, there’s one thing everyone knows: When a known hit man murders a stranger, the odds are at least ten to one that he was paid to do it. Find the person who paid him, and you’ve identified the real responsible party. This doesn’t just go for individual crimes, either. The same principle applies on the grand scale. On Oct. 7, 2023, a horde of Islamofascist terrorists known as Hamas launched simultaneous, carefully coordinated attacks on Israel. Hundreds of rockets were fired into civilian communities in Israel. Crowds of terrorists charged across the border and attacked private residences, shooting up apartments and houses, raping and beating innocent individuals and families. Squads sought out the partygoers at a music festival, slaughtering the unarmed with abandon. Hamas killed or injured thousands that day - mostly unarmed, unsuspecting civilians......................
Iran Issues Red Line, Warns of Intervention Against Israel Iran’s foreign minister has warned Israel against waging a ground war in Gaza. “The war … in the Gaza Strip is not just the Zionists’ war against a group; it is a war against all Palestinians,” Hossein Amirabdollahian said, according to a Thursday report from Reuters. “Today, the continuation of war crimes by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and Zionists against the civilians in Gaza — besieging, cutting off water and electricity, and denying entry of medicine and food — has created conditions where the Zionists are seeking a genocide of all people in Gaza.”..........
Israel doesn’t need crocodile tears - By Ethel C. Fenig October 10, 2023 - With their crocodile tears, Israel’s supposed allies once again are revealing their true (deadly) feelings. Although the European Union initially condemned the evil attack against Israel, it quickly reversed course and didn’t........After all, the Europeans need Arab Muslim oil and Arab Muslim wealth to advance the European green agenda. Also, the European nations must be careful not to antagonize their invading, increasingly expanding Muslim population. And the few European tears quickly turned to dust. U.S. secretary of state Antony Blinken (D) initially tweeted support for Israel, but whoops — it disappeared. Thanks, Mary Katharine, for alerting us to his hypocrisy.......The Barack Obamas of the world aren’t fooling anyone. .............
The real problem is Iran - October 16, 2023 - By Dimitris Eleas - “Stand against Hamas’ terror or stand with them” was the title of an article in New York Daily News a few days ago. It is exactly like this. It is not easy to understand what the people who govern Gaza really think. In the wake of Hamas’s recent terror attack on Israel, it’s clear that Hamas’s ultimate goal is to commit again a genocide against the Jewish people. It openly wants to do it, as is written in its founding documents. Hamas, unlike its secular rival, Fatah, has declared that Israel has no right to exist. And sadly, Israel did not see “the strategic meaning of the rhetoric of Hamas,” said Shlomo Avineri, a former Israeli officer and political scientist. For Hamas “every civilian is a soldier; this was not rhetoric but identifying the vulnerability of the Israeli communities inside Israel,” he added. IDF, Mossad, and Shin Bet were focused on individual terrorism in the West Bank. That was a fatal mistake. To gather intelligence is an art, but to gather intelligence from the Arabs is on another level. What come to my mind on this are some words by a Greek-French philosopher: “[The Arabs] present themselves as History’s eternal victims” (Cornelius Castoriadis, 1991)............
UN Human Rights Council marks loss of life in ‘Palestinian territory and elsewhere’ 10 October 2023 - slaughters over 900 Israelis. The UN Human Rights Council holds a moment of silence for the “loss of innocent lives in the occupied Palestinian territory and elsewhere,” after Palestinian terrorists’ indiscriminate slaughter of over 900 Israelis. Pakistani envoy Zaman Mehdi calls the motion on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states, representing 57 countries. Mehdi’s statement blames Israel for the attack and “breeding violence,” without mentioning Israel by name at any point. The statement makes no mention of Israeli victims, terror or Hamas.
UN Leaders’ Unconscionable Moral Equivalence in the Face of Pure Evil This time, Israel must say “never again” and take all military actions accordingly to make sure that the Palestinian terrorists can never conduct such strikes again. ......
U.N.: Retaliatory Siege of Gaza ‘Prohibited’ Under Int’l Law - Simon Kent Israel’s act of self defense in laying siege to Hamas terrorists and their supporters in the Gaza Strip was declared a “prohibited” act Tuesday by the U.N. human rights chief. U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, issued a call for peace and understanding in the region from his office in Geneva, Switzerland, before admonishing any prospective retaliatory move by Israel against its Islamic attackers. He cautioned:............
United Church of Canada and World Council of Churches Call for ‘Immediate Ceasefire’ in Israel and ‘Palestine’ - Christine Williams by - Jew-haters are being exposed everywhere. The United Church of Canada made a revealing statement here: “United Church of Canada Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Israel and Palestine,” United Church of Canada, October 7, 2023: The United Church condemns the attacks launched on communities in southern Israel by Hamas, and the ongoing daily violence meted out against Palestinians by Israel’s deepening occupation in Palestinian territories….Echoing the statement issued by the World Council of Churches, The United Church of Canada is deeply concerned about the risks of spiralling conflict between Palestinian armed groups and Israeli forces. For starters, no entity known as “Palestine” exists. ‘Palestine’ isn’t a state, despite being declared one by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which claims 57 member states, including “Palestine.”..............
Israeli Officials Lambaste Catholic Leaders - Two Israeli officials criticized Pope Francis and Catholic Patriarchs in Jerusalem last weekend for responding to the war between Israel and Hamas in a so-called “unfair, biased, and one-sided” manner. Raphael Schutz, Israel’s representative to the Holy See, called the response of the Latin bishops in Jerusalem “disturbing,” while Eli Cohen, Israel’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed disappointment at the small amount of attention that the Pope has given the war in Israel. “I continue to follow what’s happening in Israel and Palestine with great sorrow,” Pope Francis said at the Sunday Angelus on October 15. “I think again of so many, in particular children and the elderly. I renew my appeal for the liberation of the hostages, and I ask strongly that children, the sick, the elderly, women and all civilians not be victims of the conflict.” “Humanitarian law must be respected, above all in Gaza, where it’s urgent and necessary to guarantee humanitarian corridors and to protect the entire population,” he continued.........
Not a Surprise': Weapons Used in Hamas Terror Attack Linked to Rogue Nation -Leah Barkoukis October 19, 2023 - Some of the weapons Hamas terrorists used in their Oct. 7 attack on Israel were likely supplied by North Korea, analysts believe. Weapons captured by Israel from the battlefield show what experts say are Pyongyang’s F-7 rocket-propelled grenades. Images published by Hamas also picture the terrorists with these weapons, which have a “distinctive red stripe across its warhead” among other design features matching the F-7, the Associated Press reports........
