As The House Turns

Patriot Neighbors readers know we are an America First newsletter.  You might not agree with every position, but overwhelmingly, we proudly promote Judeo-Christian values that are embraced by America First Patriots. The following article was published on October 22 on American Thinker.

As to what is happening (or not happening) in the House of Representatives, most America First Patriots have always believed that Representative Kevin McCarthy leaned RINO rather than MAGA. Still, Republicans elected McCarthy Speaker of the House in January in a fair (albeit long) election process.

Since that time, McCarthy sometimes surprised us by doing and saying many good things although there were immense disappointments, too. Moreover, it must be remembered that he became speaker of a House where Republicans had a slim majority. As we have seen with recent voting to elect his replacement, there are 20-25 known RINOs and many other RINOs in hiding as shown by the final secret House speaker ballot for Ohio Representative Jim Jordan.

McCarthy did not follow through on several key promises which are detailed in numerous other articles. However, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz and his illustrious seven followers ousted McCarthy with Marxist Democrat support while lacking a plan forward. If Gaetz had included in his comments: “I ask for your vote to oust Rep. McCarthy and in his place elect Rep. _______,” there would have been some thought to what he did. Instead, Gaetz’s entire focus was solely to “Oust McCarthy!”

Moreover, you need to question some of the seven others who lined up with Gaetz and Marxist Democrats to toss out McCarthy. Here are two:

- Colorado Representative Ken Buck was one of Gaetz’s ouster-mates. RINO Buck voted against Ohio Representative Jim Jordan because Jordan (along with millions of Americans) believes the 2020 presidential election was stolen.

Will Buck do the same to the outstanding Florida Representative Byron Donalds who announced on October 20 that he was running for House Speaker? Donalds is a big Donald Trump supporter and also believes the 2020 presidential election was stolen from our 45^th president.

Another ouster-mate is South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace. Mace is all over the map on MAGA issues. She stood with Gaetz to oust McCarthy and then used her vote to fundraise. Yet, this is what Mace said in January 2023 about Matt Gaetz during the initial House speaker voting:

“Matt Gaetz is a fraud. Every time he voted against Kevin McCarthy last week, he sent out a fundraising email. What you saw last week was a constitutional process diminished by those kinds of political actions.”

Again, while many MAGAs agree with Matt Gaetz on countless issues and acknowledge that he is one of the few representatives who has not forgotten J6ers rotting in American gulags, it appears he did not thoroughly plan this action beyond “let’s oust Speaker McCarthy.” As Florida Representative Mike Waltz said:

“If you are going to blow a bridge, you better have another one to cross. And those eight clearly didn’t have another one to cross before they blew this bridge.”

In 1854, the Republican party was born in Ripon, Wisconsin by former Whig members to oppose the expansion of slavery into the American west. (That is another reason California is a huge state. If it had become two states, one would have been a slave state and the other a free state.) The Whig party died upon the birth of the anti-slavery Republican party.

Are we at the point where the Republican party should be in the past tense?

We will know this week. With the hapless and weak Joe Biden in the White House, world events are tragically moving us toward a world war. Biden might make pro-Israel comments following the horrific Iran-sponsored Hamas attack on Israel, but his actions appear pro-Hamas. (Such as $100 million of “humanitarian aid” for Hamas without asking the terrorist organization to release all the hostages.) Add the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war, pro-terrorist rallies on university and college campuses, inflation, homeless crisis, nearly $34 TRILLION deficit, open southern border letting who-knows-who into the United States …

Now is not the time for the Republican party to be without a House leader!

If Republicans (including RINOs, also called Vichy Republicans) fail to elect the well-respected Rep. Byron Donalds as House Speaker, the Republican party should be buried, and a new party started in its place. I am ready to meet in Ripon, Wisconsin - are you?

Should America Take in the Palestinians? 

There are 22 Arab nations in the Middle East and North Africa: Algeria, Bahrain, the Comoros Islands, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. Shouldn’t they take in the 2+ million Hamas-supporting Palestinians?

Remember, we’ve already accepted MILLIONS (low figure of 7 million) of unvetted illegal alien INVADERS at our southern border, with more coming in every day, thanks to Joe Biden’s open border. Below is a sampling of what others have said about the United States taking in Palestinians from Gaza.

New York Democrat Representative Jamaal Bowman (member of the Socialist-Democrat “Squad” and who pulled the fire alarm in Congress to stop a vote):

“Fifty percent of the population in Gaza are children. The international community as well as the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas.”

Florida Republican Governor and Presidential Candidate Ron DeSantis – campaigning in Iowa

“We cannot accept people from Gaza into this country as refugees, I am not going to do that … Not all of them are Hamas, but they are all antisemitic. None of them believe in Israel's right to exist. What this  also raises is the question of how much risk do we [now] have, as Americans, because of this open border?”

Former Ambassador to the United Nations (Trump adm.) and presidential candidate Nikki Haley – NBC News & Fox News "America's always been sympathetic to the fact that you can separate civilians from terrorists."  "I've always said we shouldn't take any Gazan refugees into the U.S. I said it when I was at the [United Nations] that we shouldn't take Syrian refugees into the U.S. I believe that those in the region should take them.”

Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio – told to the New York Post - “The U.S. is the most generous nation in the world, but we are in no position to accept additional refugees, especially from a region with as high a risk of terrorism, given our nation’s inability to secure our own border or vet those who are already here.”

Florida Republican Senator Rick Scott – told to the New York Post “…the entire focus of the United States right now should be on rescuing American hostages, and making sure that Israel has every resource needed to defeat Iran backed-Hamas and defend its homeland.”

South Carolina Republican Senator and Presidential Candidate Tim Scott – Panel discussion "I don't think that they're all antisemitic. I just can't tell you who's who."

45th President Donald Trump—October 16 rally in Iowa - “No longer will we allow dangerous lunatics, haters, bigots, and maniacs to get residency in our country.  If you empathize with Radical Islamic terrorists and extremists, you’re disqualified.  If you want to abolish the state of Israel, you’re disqualified. If you support Hamas or the ideology behind Hamas, you’re disqualified. And if you’re a Communist, Marxist, or Fascist, you are disqualified.”

London Today: Growing Muslim population

If you were recently shocked to see the streets of London (sometimes disparagingly referred to as “Londonstan”) overflowing with Hamas sympathizers rallying their support for the terrorist organization that has killed more than 1,400 Israeli civilians, injured thousands more and kidnapped (and probably tortured) 200+, you shouldn’t have been. London is Paris is Rome is Berlin …

The Jewish former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, whose family fled Nazi-Germany in 1938, said in a recent interview with Axel Springer CEO Mathias Döpfner for Germany’s Welt TV:

“It was a grave mistake to let in so many people of totally different culture and religion and concepts, because it creates a pressure  group inside each country that does that.”   (Axel Springer is Politico’s parent company.)

London has 9+ million residents. Its population explosion is the result of immigration. By 2050, the city is expected to add another 2 million residents – and you can guess if they are coming from the Middle East or middle Europe. According to National Geographic, nearly 40 percent of London residents were born outside of the United Kingdom.

On October 21, an estimated 100,000 pro-terrorists, pro-radical Islam supporters rallied in London. Since the start of October, London’s Metropolitan Police have recorded a staggering 1,350 percent INCREASE in antisemitic crimes. Hitler would be so proud.

The Guardian did a study and reported that about 68 percent of the total Muslim population in England and Wales live in areas with the highest unemployment, compared with 26 percent of Christians and 25 percent of respondents who said they did not follow a religion.

In the United States, our census is conducted every ten years in the year ending in “0.” In the United Kingdom, its census is conducted in the year ending with “1.” According to a 2021 report in The Kashmir Monitor:

Some 46.2 percent of the population of England and Wales described themselves as Christian on the day of the 2021 census, down from 59.3 percent a decade earlier. 

People who identified as Hindu grew to 1.7 percent from 1.5 percent. More than 1 in 3 people — 37 percent — said they had no religion, up from 25 percent in 2011.

London has the highest concentration of Muslims. Fifteen percent of Londoners described themselves as Muslim – up from 12.6% in 2021. This means that there are over 1.3 million Muslims living in London alone.

The pro-terrorist, anti-America rallies are happening in America! Just look at college and university campus rallies for terrorism. Fortunately, there are many counter rallies supporting Israel.

The good news is that Europeans were shocked to see the widespread anti-Israel rallies. There were events throughout the continent this past weekend to show support for the Jewish state. (Pictured: Solidarity Rally in Trafalgar Square, central London, on October 22.)

Louisiana: Elects Republican governor

Louisiana has a “jungle primary” (just like California). The two candidates that receive the most votes (no matter what political party) move to the general election – unless a candidate receives 50 percent or more of the vote. Then they automatically won the election. Last week there was a primary for governor since Democrat John Bel Edwards was termed out (good!).

Republican Attorney General Jeff Landry won the primary with 52 percent of the vote, which means Landry is governor elect. With Landry’s victory in Louisiana, there are now 26 Republican governors and 24 Democrat governors. This decisive victory sends a message to Democrats who think the abortion issue will carry them to victory in 2024.

The ECONOMY and WOLRD ISSUES – and not abortion – will drive the 2024 election, assuming fraud is kept to a minimum. Even Americans who are pro-abortion, are MORE likely to be concerned about other issues. Thanks to Joe Biden and the Democrat party, Americans:

• Have lost ONE-FIFTH of our spending power.
• Fear for our safety in many cities.
• Have fewer stores to patronize as many have closed due to rampant crime.
• Have seen a tidal wave of INVADERS at our southern border (7-8+ MILLION).
• Worry that some of those INVADERS are terrorists (caught 150+ on terrorist watch list).
• Fear multiple foreign wars due to Biden being viewed as a very weak leader.

How Joe Biden Made Iran Wealthier

Jean Q. of California asked about the Iran-sponsored Hamas attack on Israel:

Robin, do you think Biden was involved in this? Was he Wagging the Dog so his criminal activities would be in the background and all interest is shifted to Israel? I'm so sorry, saddened and upset by what's happened in Israel. 

In our opinion, Joe Biden and his Marxist-leaning administration did much to help Iran to the detriment of Israel and those Arab nations that prefer peace. Let’s review some of the ways the Biden administration helped finance Iran, which in turn helped pay for the ruthless October 7 Iran-sponsored Hamas attack on Israel.

Since taking office Joe Biden:

• 3Helped unfreeze $10+ BILLION in Iranian assets.
• 3Loosened oil sanctions. In 2020, President Trump only allowed Iran to sell 300,000 barrels per day. In 2023, Iran has been selling 3+ MILLION barrels per day—mostly to China. That’s a lot of petrol dollars.
• 3Is NOT enforcing its own sanctions on Iran selling oil to China and other bad actor nations.
• 3Gave the Palestinian Authority $300+ MILLION in a “pay to stay” program.
• 3Agreed to unfreeze $6 BILLION of funds in exchange for the release of five American prisoners.
• 3Gave $30 MILLION in COVID relief funds to United Nations “aid” groups that are linked to Hamas.
• 3Helped Iran to develop nuclear weapons through the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). President Trump stopped this program.
• 3Left $85 BILLION IN MILITARY HARDWARE following the atrocious and withdrawal from Afghanistan. This asinine action signaled to the world that the United States was being led by a weakling. This is when Iran-sponsored Hamas realized they could plan their deadly attack on Israel.

* AND *

Joe Biden’s trip to Israel on October 18 was to help HAMAS! Biden is giving $100 MILLION to Gaza usurped by Hamas following their vicious attack on Israel. Why didn’t Biden DEMAND the release of ALL hostages in exchange for the money?

The Biden administration says the money is for humanitarian assistance to Gaza and the West Bank. Yeah, right. This would be like FDR in 1943 giving money to Nazi Germany as the Gestapo promises the funds will only be used for humanitarian assistance at Auschwitz.

Gag Order: How Trump could get around it

On the DEMOCRAT side, get your scorecard out for Democrats running for U.S. Senate in California. Assuming abortion-loving MARYLAND resident Senator Laphonza Butler, who was appointed by California Governor Gavin “Hair Gel” Newsom, decides not to run as the incumbent, the jackass party now has a fourth candidate: former KTLA 5 and Fox 11 reporter Christina Pascucci. She wants to be the “independent Democrat.”

The San Fernando Valley Pascucci now joins Communist Barbara Lee, Marxist Katie Porter, and Liar Adam Schiff. By the way, for Democrats, “independent” means picking between Marxism or communism.

On the REPUBLICAN side, (Never Trumper) DC Judge Chutkan issued a semi-gag order on Donald Trump connected to the upcoming trial. This is what we suggest: the next time Trump holds a rally and wants to say something about (Never Trumper) special counsel Jack Smith or (Never Trumper) Judge Chutkan or (Never Trumper) former Vice President Mike Pence, who let so many of us down on January 6, Trump should call a surrogate to the stage to do the talking. Each rally could have someone different speak for Trump … wouldn’t that be a hoot?

Sends Cease & Desist Letter to Starbucks Union

Union supports killing Jews.  Starbucks Workers United represents about 9,000 baristas and workers at 360+ of the more than 34,000 Starbucks stores worldwide. The union is a subset of Workers United, which calls itself a progressive labor organization and is a subset of the powerful Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

The union is considered a separate entity and its positions on issues are not those of the Starbucks corporation. However, to most people, a Starbucks coffee house is a Starbucks coffee house.  While the Starbucks union coffee houses issued a pro-Hamas news release, Dunkin’ Donuts was making its position known in another way—see photo.

The Starbucks corporation immediately sent the union a cease-and-desist letter informing them that they needed to remove the Starbucks name and logo from their communications. According to Newsweek:

Prior to the cease-and-desist letter, Starbucks denounced the union's position and called the attacks initiated by Hamas heinous acts of terror.

"By fomenting this anger, your organization has recklessly endangered the safety and well-being of hundreds of thousands of baristas around the world, including its own members and those who fled conflicts or have friends and family living in conflict," the letter read.

On October 18, Starbucks filed a lawsuit in federal court in Iowa. They are suing for trademark infringement, demanding that the union stop using “Starbucks Workers United” as its name or the Starbucks logo. Of course, the union filed its own lawsuit in Pennsylvania claiming other unions use the name of the company they are connected to.

Are We Now a Communist Nation? 

Some recent events that make us wonder if the republic can be saved.

What is missing at the recent pro-terrorists/pro-Hamas rallies held at the colleges and universities? The pride flag that leftists always wave at their rallies. These ignorant students should go to Tehran or Damascus and wave a pride flag and see if they live to watch the sun set.

Many people wonder why campuses don’t have better control over these pro-terrorist rallies. Patriot Neighbors reached out to law professor Elora Zane* who explained:

Many colleges and universities are capitulating to the left (BLM, Antifa, the Pro Hamas groups, etc.) by citing that they can do nothing about the threatening "rallies" on campuses due to the First Amendment to the US Constitution protection of Free Speech. That is not wholly true. Yes, people are entitled to "peacefully assemble," and have Freedom of Speech. However, Free Speech is not absolute. You cannot defame people (defamation is a Tort, actionable in a civil court of law); you cannot yell "fire" in a crowded theater when there is none and cause a panic where someone may be seriously hurt and even die, and as such that person could be charged for the ensuing innocent person’s death.

As to speech that incites violence there is the  clear and present danger test originated in Schenck v. the United States and also addressed (some same overturned in Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444 (1969), as one cannot punish inflammatory speech (or in later cases) engage in viewpoint discrimination, unless that speech is "directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action". We have heard those at these “rallies” calling for "death to Jews", not to mention that Hamas is largely funded by Iran who also decries "death to America" and "death to Israel." The above test is as applicable to Israel and Jews, as it is to Christians, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Catholics, Muslims, LGBTQIA, or any other targeted group. This is also a matter of National Security for all Americans, not just Jews, although they are the ones being targeted. Free Speech did not prevent colleges/universities from initiating special rules during Covid. 

Also, the school can enact time, place, and manner restrictions. Time, place, and manner restrictions include regulations of when, where, and how someone speaks. For example, a school may tell its students that they may not discuss politics during class.

Or is the Tide Turning to Freedom?

With our prayers and involvement, we must have hope of saving our republic. Let’s look at some recent wins that show the tide might be turning in the direction of Conservative Judeo-Christian values. However, we need Republican LEADERSHIP, which seems to be in short supply:

• More than 30 Harvard student organizations put together a statement blaming Israel for the Iran-sponsored Hamas attack. Several days later, Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman, who founded Pershing Square Capital Management, started a CEO revolt announcing his firm would not hire anyone who is a member of any of the 30+ organizations. Quickly, CEOs from various other businesses announced they will also NOT hire those students who support the barbaric Hamas. Some students said they were “just” members and had no idea their organization signed the letter. Ackman responded in a tweet:

“If an organization of which you are a member puts out a public statement you disagree with, you have a few choices. You can … stay silent and have the entire world conclude that you stand by the statement.”

• On November 10, Disney will release the 33rd chapter of The Marvels. It cost $275 million to make and that figure does not include promotional expenses. It is expected to earn dismal $50—$75 million. You don’t have to be a math wizard to realize that’s a BIG loss. Disney keeps putting out crap that Americans don’t want to see, and this is the result.

Encouraging news from outside the United States:

• CANADA: Alberta Premier Danielle Smith issued an official apology to the unvaccinated for crimes perpetrated against their human rights by the Canadian government. She said that anyone who was fired by the government would be welcomed back.

• ECUADOR: Several weeks before the election, the conservative frontrunner was assassinated. Another conservative stepped in to loudly reject socialism. Guess what! The conservative Daniel Noboa won Ecuador’s presidential election!

• NEW ZEALAND: Its left-wing government (even more lefty than Australia with draconian lockdowns and climate change cow fart taxes), LOST its recent election. The wise people of this beautiful nation elected a right-wing government.

• Syngenta owns 160 acres of land in northeast Arkansas. Thanks to the state’s recently passed Act 636, the agrichemical company controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (headquartered in Switzerland, but owned by ChemChina), will have to sell 100+ acres of agricultural land. In her official announcement on October 17, Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders said:

"Today, Arkansas is becoming the first state in the country to force a Chinese state-owned company to sell their farmland. This isn't about where you're from, it's about where your loyalties lie. We simply can't trust those who pledge allegiance to a hostile foreign power."

Ron DeSantis: Bringing Americans home

Kudos to Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis for doing SOMETHING to help bring Americans home from Israel. Initial reports said DeSantis was flying Floridians back to the Sunshine state. It turns out that DeSantis is helping ANY American to get home.

Under the abysmal “leadership” of Joe “Big Guy” Biden. stranded Americans must pay the U.S. government to be rescued! Then they are dumped in Greece or other nations and still must get home on their own. As DeSantis rightly pointed out:

“You can come across the southern border, and the federal government will fly you all across the country, free of charge. They’ll put you up in nice hotels at taxpayer expense. They’re not charging the illegal aliens.

When there’s a void of leadership, you’ve got to step up and make a difference. So we were able to do that and we’re proud to have played an important role.”

This is J6er Is Part of the Patriot Neighbors Reader Community

A Patriot Neighbors reader who once lived in Orange County, California, and recently relocated to Florida is a J6er.

Many J6ers were indicted on numerous charges by a grand jury, some of whom were incarcerated, while others were placed on probation awaiting trial. Most J6ers had no choice but to accept a plea-bargain from the government as trials would have been held in Washington DC, where the jury pools would not have been fair and unbiased. If the defendant were found guilty, sentences would have resulted in 20+ years in a federal prison. Acceptance of pleading guilty meant judges have complete control over sentencing guidelines. This particular J6er was sentenced to 27 months in a federal prison for his participation in the events of that day.

He will be starting his 2-1/2 prison sentence in a few weeks.

Jon C.—Arizona - Re: Hall. We should always questions what our govt is doing & the govt of countries we give $ to. I agree with Hall on that. Some of Hall’s conspiracies were over the top to be taken seriously. Not sure how anyone besides terrorist supporters can question if Israel was attacked. Hall lost me with this article but she has done good work in the past.

Asked not to show name as she belongs to same club as Peggy—California - I have heard Peggy Hall speak and I have read some of other articles.  She seemed to know what she was saying and I took it at face value what she was saying.  After reading her article doubting if the Hamas attack on Israel was real, I will doubt everything Hall is saying.

I hate to say these things but I believe them to be true: Whenever I now speak to people, I use the phrase  "4 WORDS".  They say what do you mean and I tell them: AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE STUPID. I believe (and I hope to God I'm wrong) but I firmly believe that the Democrats will retain the Presidency in 2024 as well as retain the Senate and win the House. Then the American people will know what Totalitarianism is really like. I have 0 faith in the intelligence of the American people. They will lose their homes their money and their liberty. And as Franklin once said: "THE PEOPLE GET THE GOVERNMENT THEY  D E S E R V E"

Laugh, Cry, or Say Amen

Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman, who due to a stroke, has difficultly forming coherent sentences.  Fetterman was recently on Stephen Colbert’s show complaining about the people being sent to DC! Fetterman is the last person in Congress who should have said:

“”You all need to know that America is not sending their best and brightest to Washington, D.C. Sometimes you literally just can’t believe… these people are making the decisions that are determining the government here. It’s actually scary.” 

Now for some humor to start what is going to be another difficult week:

• I signed up for an exercise class. It said to wear loose fitting clothing.  If I had loose fitting clothing, I wouldn’t need the exercise class.
•  Three major automakers are holding a joint conference. They are asked to share who started their company:

Ford: We were proudly founded by Henry Ford.
Toyota: Our founder was the visionary Kicchiro Toyo.
Volkswagen:

• I trust gas station sushi more than I trust the CDC or FDA.
• In America, they call it “lobbying.” Everywhere else in the world, they call it “bribery and corruption.”
• Dave Rubin: To clear up any confusion for the morally bankrupt, who would Hitler be rooting for now?
• Will Rogers: I don't make jokes.  I just watch the government and report the  facts.
• If you are driving an electric vehicle and hit someone, can you be charged with battery?
• ET is my favorite movie.  It's about an illegal alien that wants to go home.
• Planned Parenthood announces that the Israel Defense Forces destroyed their only facility in Gaza during an airstrike. Well, it was just a clump of buildings.
• Why doesn’t a psychic ever win a lottery?
• Whenever I am having a panic attack, I put a brown paper bag over my mouth … and drink all the bourbon inside. It seems to help.
•  I just posted a selfie and people responded by telling me to get well soon.
