Who do you trust? Who can you believe? We absolutely KNOW the media is corrupt beyond imagining. We know we can't trust PhD’s, many "scientists" or most of those in academia. Grant money and the desire for prestige has contaminated their ranks to the point that everything they say must be questioned. My personal motto is "De Omnibus Dubitandum". Everything is to be questioned!
Well, I didn't create that motto I confiscated it. It's supposed to be the motto of science. It's supposed to be the basis for all that a true scientist does. Unfortunately, entirely too many “scientists” doubt only those things that will stop the flow of
grant money.
Those true scientists who stood against the “science” regarding anthropogenic
global warming were virtually ostracized by their peers. Many lost positions
and had their grants revoked, very often those two situations go hand in
hand. No grant money, no job! Now it's even worse. Anyone in academia unwilling to embrace the latest sexual and race issues promoted by the Marxists, gays and race hustlers in the Democrat party is faced with the potential of losing their job, and they're being personally and physically attacked. That pattern is playing out in our military, entertainment industry, sports and even in commerce.
As the years went by the grant money flowed faster
and faster to promote all things embraced by the left and their myrmidons in the Democrat party, and those promotions always push for more taxes, more spending, more regulations, more government, less freedom, and the elimination of freedoms "guaranteed" under the Constitution. Unfortunately they didn’t necessarily
promote all things scientific, honest or truthful.
Because of the internet we see can now clearly
see just how untrustworthy “scientists” can be and who the untrustworthy ones
are. We can also see who can be trusted. We now have access to all the arguments, both pro and con, on any given
subject. Many of the scares really are nothing more that con jobs ensuring the grant money keeps right on flowing into their
corrupt hands, along with the power to control our lives. That has consequences!
That means the only way to know what's true and what's false is to do the research yourself. However, once someone makes up their mind to really research information they find
themselves in a quandary:
Where do I go to read the truth?
It is difficult to know right away as to who to read and who to trust. It took me some time and a great deal or reading to find those worth reading. I now know who to go to in order to find out the truth on any matter in which I am interested, and that list grows every year of those to be trusted, and those not to be trusted. That saves an enormous amount of time. We have to understand two things.
First, articles are incapable of filling in all the information we need to fully understand a subject or an issue. All articles leave a ton of information out. What we have to discern is why they're leaving so much information out. Is information being left out because of space, or because they're deliberately trying to mislead us?
Secondly, articles are the guide posts to books. Once you've determined who can be trusted their work will lead you to books that you need. Books fill in the information you need to understand what's really going on, and it takes more than one. I read books from both sides, because if I'm not aware of their arguments, I can't defeat them.
I read and re-read Steve Milloy’s book, Junk Science Judo. Milloy discusses
statistics and epidemiological studies extensively in this book and how this
information is manipulated and misrepresented. Really boring and complicated
stuff, but in order to know what everyone is talking about you must understand
how statistics (which has been described as the arcane science for a reason) works
in order to understand how statistics actually works and how the data are molded.
We see more and more false claims of mortality of the current hysterical China/Wuhan virus scare, which was bolstered with massive testing for this virus to boost the numbers. ( Coronavirus, Fraud, Mortality Rate,) All of which was nothing more than an effort to scare the world, and it worked. Even P.T. Barnum would have been impressed. Positive tests on healthy people may show big numbers, but that's meaningless!
Let me say that again. Positive tests on healthy people is meaningless, except it shows they're immune to this virus, which is true of the vast majority of the people of the world!!!!
When the Swine Flu hit in 2009 it appeared that the media had the world in the grip of a disastrous worldwide plague It turned out the view this was more hype than disaster was correct:
“Dr. Henry Miller of ACSH’s Board of Trustees and Stanford University's Hoover Institution is a molecular biologist and former flu researcher who argues in the Washington Times that the swine flu pandemic was labeled as such too readily.”
Part of the problem is the WHO doesn’t follow its own rules for these kinds of determination. But like Rip van Winkle, WHO must have been asleep during that time, because ordinary seasonal flu, which sweeps the world annually - and invariably is far more lethal than the mildly virulent H1N1 swine flu - certainly meets its definition of a pandemic: widespread geographical spread.
Then as the numbers dropped claims of "new" forms of the current hysterical China/Wuhan virus scare. This is the same pattern that played out in 2009. “Brazilian
scientists reported on Tuesday that they have identified a new strain of the
H1N1 virus”.
