Sometimes it's hard not to get discouraged when one sees
such a continuous flow of unscientific nonsense from sources that we might have
thought had competence and intellectual integrity (like here and here and here). And then
there are many millions of dollars spent to "break the resistance" of
wind energy opponents (e.g. here).
On the other hand, if we are paying attention, there is
actually a LOT of good news happening in the energy and environmental arenas.
In every issue of the newsletter I purposefully include several positive
reports.
For example, the citizens of two NC communities had
conscientious representatives who ignored the wind developer's siren call of
one-sided speculative financial enticements, and unanimously voted to
pass citizen-friendly laws with strong protections (see here and here). [Neither
law is online yet, but they both very closely follow our model ordinance.
I'll let you know when they are officially published.]
For example, we're very fortunate to have many qualified
experts who have contributed their time and knowledge to educate us, so that we
have more ammunition in the fight (like here and here and here).
I'm hoping that you focus on the part of the glass that
is full, learn from independent experts, and profit from the experiences of
those who have been successful.
Thank you for your continued support!

PS — Please help out our Pennsylvania friends by voting NO
in this wind energy poll.
As always, please pass this on to open-minded citizens. If there are others who you think would benefit from being on our energy & environmental email list, please let me know. If at any time you'd like to be taken off the list, please let me know that too.
