For all the reading I do on this subject I'm embarassed
to say I've not seen this site until now, but I'm inclined to think it's new.
Please allow me to introduce you to the Gelbspan Files.
There are two questions that need to be asked and answered before you delve
into this site: Who is Ross Gelbspan and who is who Is Russell Cook?
So, who is Ross Gelbspan?
According to his bio as of May 2013, he’s a 73
year old retired journalist.....who became concerned about global warming and
wrote a book titled “the Heat Is ON; The High Stakes Battle Over Earth’s
Threatened Climate. He helped manage to promote the global warming movement by
“grossly exaggerat[ing] the threat and certainty of future global warming, it
also unambiguously stated in its book jacket’s inside sleeve (falsely, as it
turned out) that Gelbspan himself was a Pulitizer Prize-winning journalist, and
finally because it described an alleged conspiracy led by the coal industry to
pay scientists to “reposition global warming” as a theory rather than a
fact"……"On page 34 of The Heat is On, Gelbspan quotes from supposedly
secret memos produced by a trade association for the coal industry, alleging a
campaign to mislead and confuse the public about the science of global warming.
Al Gore in An Inconvenient Truth, the book that accompanied his award-winning
documentary film by the same title, says the memo“was discovered by the
Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Ross Gelbspan.” That is now the widely accepted
legend."....To Read More...
And who is Russell Cook?
"I am neither a scientist nor a trained journalist.
I received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University
of New Mexico and an Associates degree in graphic arts from the Al Collins
School of Graphic Design. I am no different than what many people on Earth are,
a common citizen having reasonably adequate enough education and an inquisitive
enough mind to observe and question contradictory stories in the media about
global warming.
For the past three years I have conducted research on an
essentially full-time basis into the accusation that skeptic climate scientists
are paid by industry to lie. I’ve shared my findings in numerous online
articles at AmericanThinker.com, RedState.com, Breitbart.com, JunkScience.com
and elsewhere. My conclusion can be readily summarized: the accusation appears
to be a false claim, a myth generated by a small group of enviro-activists with
significant direction from ex-Boston Globe reporter Ross Gelbspan.
I’ve been a nature-loving cheapskate recycler all my
life. Until recently, I didn’t really give a rip about global warming because I
remembered the big global cooling craze back in the ‘70s. Plus, I was aware of
the skeptic scientists’ viewpoints I’d seen in an April 2000 PBS Nova/Frontline program, so I reasoned that the science in the issue was
anything but settled"......To Read More.....

Worried about Global Warming or
Ozone Depletion? Then Destroy Critics Who Say Those aren’t Problems., January 16, 2015 byRussell
Cook
Think about that line of reasoning for a moment. If you
are fearful of climate catastrophe, wouldn’t you welcome the critics’ good
news? Enviro-activists don’t, and I don’t try to analyze why. What I can do is
tell how particular people reveal a one-and-the-same character assassination
effort against critics of global warming and ozone depletion. Continue

For believers in the idea of catastrophic man-caused
global warming, it remains as real as can be if critic scientists can be
dismissed as industry-funded shills paid to lie to the public. But the belief
in that accusation is merely a belief without evidence to support it. So, when
they see statements and illustrations like this one Continue reading→

Ever since Gelbspan’s “The Heat is On” book came out in
1997, he’s been lauded as a ‘journalist exposing the corruption of skeptic
climate scientists’ in one form or another. But there’s a problem with
that ‘journalist’ label itself, and there’s a bigger problem concerning the
contradiction of what professional journalists should do, compared with what
Gelbspan failed to do, a detail pointed out by atmospheric physicist Dr Singer back
in 1997. Continue

Thanks for finding my GelbspanFiles blog and reproducing material from it! It is relatively new, but as can be seen in the Archives tab there, my work on dissecting the smear of skeptic climate scientists goes back over 5 years.
ReplyDeleteSuch things take a while, but I'm gaining faster momentum when it comes to convincing more people about just how big of a wipeout the smear is. Please do keep an eye out for further announcements at my two Twitter pages @questionAGW & @GelbspanFiles or at my blog.
