AML = High Costs and Trivial (if any) Benefits

May 19, 2024 by Dan Mitchell @ International Liberty

I’ve repeatedly complained about the absurdity of anti-money laundering laws and regulations.

Today, let’s cross the Atlantic Ocean to examine some new evidence about why anti-money laundering laws and regulations are misguided.

Looking at the United Kingdom, this chart shows that AML policies impose nearly £35 billion of costs on the economy, which is twice as much as the total budget for policing in the country!

I created the chart, but the numbers come from a new study published by the London-based Institute of Economic Affairs.

The author, Jamie Whyte, compares costs and benefits. The results are not pretty.

…debanking is a problem in the UK. In 2021/22, UK banks closed 343,000 accounts, up from 45,000 in 2017 when the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 (MLR 2017) was passed into law. …Customers whose accounts are not closed also pay a material price, because complying with the government’s anti-money laundering (AML) regulations costs UK banks £34 billion a year, which is double the £17 billion spent on policing all other crimes in the UK… This cost must ultimately be passed on to customers through higher account fees, higher rates of interest on loans, and/or lower interest rates on deposits. …Given the lack of evidence that banks’ post-2017 AML obligations have done anything to reduce crime compared with pre-2017 trends, you might hope that the UK government, and all others, would simply eliminate them. …there is no evidence that the well-known and large costs of AML regulations are offset by their benefits.

Yes, you read correctly. There is no evidence that AML laws and regulations have had any positive effect.

The War on Drugs has been the main excuse for AML policies. Here’s some of what is in the study.

Between 1990 (when the FATF AML regulations began to come into force) and 2021, the number of illegal drug users around the world increased by 60% and the number of deaths attributed to drug use more than doubled. According to a 2023 report by the UK’s National Crime Agency: ‘From January 2022 to December 2022, cocaine prices have dropped by about 30% and heroin prices have fallen by about 33%.

Looks like one half of the Baptists and Bootleggers coalition is doing well.

Here are some of Whyte’s concluding thoughts.

The AML obligations imposed on banks have massive costs and no apparent benefit in reducing crime. The rational response is to abolish them or, at least, to scale them back… This is probably expecting too much of contemporary politicians, who find it difficult to stop regulating and who find it difficult to admit to profound policy errors.

Sadly, American politicians are just as feckless as British politicians. So the bad policies in the United States also seem invulnerable to common-sense changes.

To make a bad situation even worse, policy is like to become more nonsensical thanks to the War on Cash.

P.S. Since the statute of limitations presumably has passed, I can admit that I engaged in money laundering while in London about 10 years ago.

P.P.S. You may not think AML policy lends itself to humor, but here’s an amusing anecdote involving a former President. There’s also a very clever Instagram video from Australia.

Biden Lies to America, Tells the Truth to China

By @ Sultan Knish Blog

“When I was director of intelligence for the Indo-Pacific Command, for example, I watched as numerous requests to publicize Chinese malign activities were disapproved by Washington,” Rear Admiral Mike Studeman recently warned.

The former head of the Office of Naval Intelligence had served between 2022 and 2023 and during that time one of the suppressed stories about China’s attacks involved “Beijing’s use of high-altitude surveillance balloons over the sovereign airspaces of the US” which came “many months before the shooting down of a Chinese balloon flying over the US.”

After the spy balloon was exposed, Biden administration officials had claimed that there had been multiple spy balloon overflights under Trump and only one under Biden, which went unnoticed at the time, but the US Navy was clearly aware and had been ordered to keep quiet by D.C. about the multiple incursions by Chinese spy balloons under Biden.

When the spy balloon was first detected, the initial response by the Biden administration had been to suppress news about it and then to deny that the administration had been aware of it.

“Before it was spotted publicly, there was the intention to study it and let it pass over and not ever tell anyone about it,” an administration official admitted.

But when a Montana resident’s footage of the spy balloon went viral, the Biden cover-up fell apart. Once it was exposed, the official complained that “It caused so many problems.”

While the Biden administration was publicly criticizing China, the State Department was privately sidelining sanctions and any actions against the People’s Republic of China. A month later, a top State Department official dealing with China was already looking to “move on”

By May, Biden had resumed relations with China and was dismissing the whole thing as a “silly balloon”. In June, he claimed that the spying was “more embarrassing” for Beijing “than it was intentional.” Over a year later an FBI report on the balloon is still being kept secret.

With Secretary of State Blinken trying to wrangle an invitation to China, the Biden administration fully committed to covering up “difficult subjects”.

One of those difficult subjects was China’s spy base in Cuba. After the Wall Street Journal reported that China had agreed to pay Cuba billions to build a spy base, the Biden administration denied it.

And then it had to admit it anyway.

To quote NBC News, “as for why the White House, Pentagon and others all flatly denied the Journal’s reporting despite knowing that China has been spying from Cuba for years, the official said the Journal story was inaccurate because it called the eavesdropping a new development.”

After the initial denials, the Biden administration backpedaled and admitted that China had been spying on America from Cuba since 2019. Much as with the spy balloon story, after a China espionage cover up fell apart the Biden administration tried to pass the blame on to Trump.

Cover-ups of enemy activity had become the default mode for the Biden administration.

While Russia developed a space weapon, the Biden administration covered it up because it was “worried that if the program became more widely known in Congress or in the public, that might scuttle the nascent efforts to get Russia to abort those tests.”

What began with Biden’s abandonment of the China Initiative in 2022 escalated into coverups.

The Justice Department had argued that “the ‘China Initiative’ fueled a narrative of intolerance and bias” and that the “rise in anti-Asian hate crime and hate incidents” made it urgent to shut down the effort to stop PRC spies. The assaults on Asian-Americans in San Francisco and New York City by minority street thugs had nothing to do with catching spies. It was a cover-up.

The cover-ups, in the name of anti-racism or diplomacy, allowed the Communist regime a clear field for spying on the United States while suppressing the story so Biden wouldn’t get blamed.

By the fall of last year, the Wall Street Journal reported on Chinese infiltrators trying to access American military bases “as many as 100 times in recent years”. Chinese nationals pretending to be tourists did everything from trying to force their way into a base in Alaska to scuba diving to spy on a Florida rocket launch site. The increasing brazenness of the Chinese efforts reflected the extent to which the Biden administration was covering up for the spy campaign.

Over the last year, Chinese spies have been accused of looting everything from AI secrets to tech used to detect nuclear missile launches.

And there is every reason to believe that the situation may be worse than we realize.

The Biden administration has developed a consistent track record of suppressing damaging information about Communist China. What we know about the PRC’s operations against us come from leaked material and court cases. Without viral videos, like the one out of Montana, and intelligence reports leaked to the media, we would know even less than we do now.

Governments normally conceal information about enemy activities so as not to tip off foreign spies, but the Biden administration’s consistent pattern has been to hide the information from Americans rather than from Russia and China. Instead of trying to deceive our enemies, the Biden administration instead deceives and lies to Americans.

The Biden administration has misleadingly denied reports for no purpose other than to conceal information about enemy activities from Americans. China knew it was spying on the United States from Cuba. And they certainly knew that we knew it. Russia knew it was building a space weapon and was talking about it with the Biden administration. But Biden didn’t want us to know.

After the spy balloon, the Biden administration told Americans one thing and China another.

Whom did it tell the truth to? China. The Biden administration put on a fake show of outrage for Americans while quietly telling Chinese Communist officials that all of this would soon pass.

When the United States government lies to Americans, but tells the truth to an enemy dictatorship, something is very wrong. China can trust the White House, but we can’t.

While U.S. Diplomats Negotiated With China, China Hacked Them

By July 21, 2023 @ Sultan Knish Blog

In June, America and China traded hacks.

Secretary of State Blinken traveled to Beijing in a visit that had been delayed for a few months after the public learned that China had been flying a spy balloon over America. After days of “high-level talks”, the Biden administration official claimed that the trip was a success.

“We have made progress and we are moving forward,” the State Department official declared.

Meanwhile, China had been hacking.the State Department. While Secretary of State Blinken and State Department officials prepped for the biggest Chinese diplomatic exchange of the administration, Chinese hackers pulled off an ingenious targeted attack aimed at accessing the emails of State Department and other government officials including Blinken’s own messages.

The Biden administration and China had different definitions of “moving forward”.

Secretary of State Blinken learned that China had tried to hack his emails a day before he was set to visit Beijing, and he chose to go ahead with the trip without making any public mention of it, not wanting to spoil the photo op. The previous scheduling of the trip had been bumped because of China’s spy balloon and Blinken chose to demonstrate to the enemy that no amount of abusive behavior was going to stop the Biden administration’s appeasement.

The Biden administration’s idea of diplomacy was talking to China, while the People’s Republic wanted to know what Blinken and other top officials were going to say before they got there. Besides targeting Blinken and State Department officials, Chinese hackers also came after Commerce Secretary Raimondo and members of her department. That won’t stop Raimondo from visiting China later this year. No Chinese attack or provocation will stop the appeasement.

Secretary of State Blinken turned to the cameras in Beijing and stated that an agreement had been reached that “sustained communication at senior levels is the best way to responsibly manage our differences” even while knowing that China’s idea of sustained communication was trying to get at his emails. China has its own idea of how to “establish better lines of communication” and it begins by hacking the hacks to read their communications.

And the Biden administration’s idea of better communications is to hide what happened.

When an incident spills out into the press, the Biden administration brings out Hillary Clinton’s old ‘reset button’ and announces that diplomatic meetings have made everything right again.

Even though the hack had been made public by Microsoft, the Biden administration has not directly addressed it because that might interfere with its China diplomacy. That is in keeping with its policy of refusing to talk about any Chinese attack that doesn’t happen in broad daylight.

The Biden administration initially refused to take action against China’s spy balloon and covered up reports about it while pleading with the Chinese embassy for answers. Only when photos of the balloon taken by Montana residents went viral did the administration finally shoot it down.

The State Department hadn’t wanted the spy balloon to interfere with Blinken’s trip. Even while it publicly condemned China, it was quietly appeasing it, shutting down export controls and human rights measures as an apology for the public action taken against its spy balloon.

Biden has since dismissed the spy balloon as “unintentional” and “silly” and has spent the spring and summer dispatching his top hacks to plead our case to the Communists in Beijing. The Communist dictatorship turned down a meeting with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, instead it publicly showed off a simulation in which it destroyed the USS Gerald R. Ford and conducted aggressive intercepts of Navy vessels and Air Force planes. It’s reportedly building up its spy operation in Cuba and may start actually moving troops onto the Communist island.

Rather than address China’s aggression, Biden has kept on sending more emissaries.

The exchange of hacks has been going on all summer with CIA Director Bill Burns making a ‘secret’ trip to China in June to tell the Communist spies about “the importance of maintaining open lines of communication in intelligence channels.” China’s idea of maintaining open lines of communication was to hack the CIA and expose its agents during the Obama administration.

Despite China’s high-profile hacks, the high-profile hacks keep coming. Next up, Climate Envoy John Kerry, the administration’s leading apologist for China, will visit in the middle of July. Instead of advocating for the climate, Kerry has advocated for Chinese slave labor solar panels and argued that none of its crimes, national, international or against us, compare to the grave climate threat from ordinary Americans driving to work or running their air conditioners.

It’s doubtful that China has gone to the trouble of hacking Kerry and his team. Why bother?

The message from all of these visits is that there will be no meaningful consequences. Whatever China does, the Biden administration will keep pursuing “dialogue” to maintain “open communications” to “stabilize the relationship”. And that gives China a green light to attack.

“I think there is a way to resolve, to establish a working relationship with China that benefits them and us,” Biden claimed. China already has a working relationship with us. China attacks us and we try to figure out why it would do such a thing. Spy balloons, military encounters, threats of destruction and hacks are met with diplomatic appeasement. After turning over our economy to the Communist dictatorship, we keep talking about how to fix our relationship.

The stark contrast between America’s idea of diplomacy and China’s idea of diplomacy is that we want dialogue and they want control. The People’s Republic of China is not interested in conversations or relationships, they want to know our bottom lines and anything they can exploit to gain a strategic advantage. That’s why diplomacy with China will always fail.

Generations of Chinese Communist officials came of age reading Mao’s quote that, “politics is war without bloodshed while war is politics with bloodshed.” Americans view diplomacy as a means of bringing nations together, while China’s Communist Party sees it as a zero-sum game. For them to win, we must lose. The more we negotiate with China, the more we lose.

Politics and the End of Private Lives

By July 06, 2023 @ Sultan Knish Blog

Cancel culture, like most of our contemporary cultural revolution, began in China.

In the aughts, rural Chinese migrated to massive mega-cities whose impossible population densities were matched by the growing interconnection of the internet. While three quarters of China’s population is now on the internet, in 2006 it grew by a quarter to encompass only 10%.

In these cramped quarters, physical and social, there was no room for the individual.

The Chinese internet, unlike its American counterpart, was always centered around social media which is one reason why TikTok is eating Facebook, Twitter and YouTube’s lunches. It was also always mobile. Chinese commuters on public transportation tapped in their grievances against neighbors, friends, family and random strangers. And mobs formed to take sides.

What we call cancel culture, the Chinese called “internet hunting” by “morality mobs” who were enforcing a street-level Confucianism in Maoist fashion by destroying the lives of the offenders.

It took Americans another decade to catch up to China. Cancel culture is more overtly ideological than internet hunting, but they are the common phenomenon of leftist mass societies where people inhabit anonymous collectives, displaced by technology and the collapse of definable communities, they form ad hoc groups to enforce social codes and burn witches.

Communist societies pursue collectivization to eliminate personal spaces. The Soviet Union pushed its peasants into collective farms and its urban residents into communal apartments to root out the very idea of the personal. Early Soviet apartments had no kitchens and the planners initially intended to have everyone eat in public kitchens and use their homes for sleeping.

The social web is much more stifling than any Soviet communal apartment. A family might have been stuck with one bedroom, but at least they had a door that they could close. The internet has taken down all the doors. Making the private public is a core leftist program. The old hackers claimed that “information wants to be free”. Information is less free than it ever was, but people’s lives have become public property. The ‘free’ public services of Google, Facebook and others offer convenience in exchange for information. Family life and political participation leave a trail. Disputes spill out into their ugliness into social media. From the media to social media, everyone is invited to judge the private lives that have become public commodities.

It took Americans longer to collectivize the personal than it did the Chinese. And we did it in a typically individualistic fashion. To paraphrase Sinclair Lewis, when collectivism came to America, it did so by flying emojis offering character creators, personalized algorithm suggestions and relevant ads. Americans became the same under the guise of expressing their differences. That sameness refracted through the illusion of collectivist mass cultural expression is not at all coincidentally at the heart of identity politics setups like the LGBTQ movement.

Cancel culture politicized the personal. But for it to work, we had to give up our private lives.

In a collectivist society, everyone is either a model citizen or a problem. Individualism is an offense against the system. That is what the Chinese, whose version of the ‘Ugly Duckling’ has the swan dying because of his differences, innately understood. It was what China’s morality mobs and internet hunters foreshadowed to Americans eagerly signing up for Facebook.

When people make their personal lives public, they hand them over to the Left

Defeating cancel culture requires restoring private lives. Soviet citizens in the grip of Communist terror understood that they could survive, not only physically but morally, by creating spaces where the state and its enforcers could not reach. At the end of the film ‘Brazil’, the protagonist, being tortured by the state, escapes into his imagination. Such is the power of inner lives.

Engaging with cancel culture on its own terms feeds the beast. Like every totalitarian system, cancel culture is nourished by consuming the lives of others. And those lives must be accessible. The more we live our lives in public view, the more of us it consumes and the more we normalize the idea that life is a collectivist enterprise to be pored over by others for their entertainment. What began with reality television has culminated in professional influencers whose existence is a facsimile of reality and whose gravitational pull warps our sense of reality.

Private lives are not just a stylistic choice. The American Revolution was fought over, among other matters, because the colonists refused to be feudal peasants who were expected to open their doors and quarter British soldiers in their homes at the demand of a king. Contemporary Americans assume that they are obligated to let officers of the state, not only the police but a long list of inspectors and authority figures into their homes, and have made their homes and lives into just another node on the internet for everyone to pass through when they please.

Inhabiting public lives has not made us any happier. Statistics show a sharp increase in depression and suicide rates for teens beginning with the popularization of the smartphone. Critics and experts point to the devastating impact of phones on public happiness, yet fail to boil it down succinctly to what adults understand, but teens never had a chance to experience.

Like the child stars and teen musicians of another era, a generation has come of age and another is coming of age without any sense of what living a private life is even like. The personal is naturally public. Life feels only lived if someone else is watching. Without audiences, life appears unreal, and yet with the eternal audience of social media, it is truly unreal. To be public is to give up the self. Teenagers, who have the greatest need for privacy and the least ability to maintain its boundaries, are the greatest victims of the violation of private lives.

Cancel culture is only the most visible manifestation of that, along with elevated depression and suicide rates, and a general anhedonia, an inability to be happy, because happiness on any level other than the animalistic is impossible without a private self. Teenage girls are the most dependent on social networks for their sense of worth and are the most likely to lose their sense of who they are to them. Transgender mutilation is a massive phenomenon among teenage girls for the same reason that body dysmorphic disorders tend to hit them harder. When you lose your mental sense of self, hurting your body becomes a desperate effort to exercise control.

Politics did not cause us to dive so far down a technological rabbit hole that we left western civilization behind and found feudalism waiting on the other side of the singularity, but the destruction of individuality opened the Overton window for totalitarian movements. By trading the private for the public, we erased the lines between the personal and the political. A revived leftist movement under the flag of wokeness made politicizing the personal into its mission statement. Giving up our wealth, our homes and our children to it was nothing. The true sacrifice was to give up our morality, our reasoning and our souls to the madness of the trending topic.

We ceased to think and we became receptacles for mass messaging in a way that no people, not even during the worst days of the twentieth century, had ever become. We no longer thought, we echoed, and we stopped acting and reacted, and let the postmodern dancing sickness that had once infected medieval millenarians take us on a crazy jig down the street.

The best defenses against public madness are private lives, against mass culture, the pursuit of individual creativity, and against mindlessness, thinking for ourselves. We are on the cusp of a world in which culture will be mass produced by AI, tailored by algorithms and primed to persuade us of anything as long as it has enough information about us to form a profile.

In the face of that inconceivable collectivism, we can become ourselves or lose ourselves.

Private lives, and their vital tools, thoughtfulness, modesty, integrity, religiosity, reason, humility and common sense, are the anti-virus software against a virus of a scale we can neither imagine nor survive intact as reasoning civilized beings. They are the barriers, the doors we can close on a system that needs us to give up everything we have in order to rule over us.

This is not monasticism: it’s individualism. We do not need to retreat from fighting or making a difference. But what we must do is fight without losing the selves that we are fighting for.

What, in the final analysis, are we fighting for? More than a single election, we are fighting for a world in which we are the kings and queens of our homes, where our children are safe from the predators who have become emboldened in the age of identity politics, where we do not have to account for choices to the oversight of the state and where we are free to think and believe.

We are fighting not just for a nation, but for the right to our private lives once again.

In a totalitarian state, the private is public because the people are the property of the state whereas in a free society, the public is private because the state belongs to the people.

America was founded as a free society and has become a totalitarian state. Its monolithic institutions, state, corporate, academic, nonprofit, claim the right to control everything about their subjects from birth to death, a thousand forms and agenda items put the personal at the disposition of the public. A new revolution will make the personal, private once again. It is a revolution that can begin with us when we do not answer a question, fill in a form, turn over data or share our lives or scrutinize the lives of others who are not our family or our friends.

The act of living private lives carries with it a moral power that can transform a culture..

Even in the most totalitarian societies, people can draw lines between the public and the private. Acts of quiet defiance serve to restore norms and limit the power of the state. There are many walls worth building. One of them is the wall between the private and the public, the personal and the political, between our homes and the system, and between ourselves and the state.

Tyranny or the Rule of Law? That's the Choice! Part One

Is Rule of Law Dead in America? If laws do not mean what they say, then they mean nothing at all. And if those laws are not applied equally to everyone, then the constitutional republic, once described as a shining city on a hill, has fallen into rot and disrepair. In the face of this corruption, what can the American people do? Paul Engel

 By Rich Kozlovich

I'm going to move into some near history to start this narrative, since that lays groundwork allowing us to see the pattern of corruption and treason being played out.

There was a lot of green house gas emitted by the left because Steve Bannon, who I don't like all that much, was been found guilty of Contempt of Congress.  Contempt of Congress, I can't help but chuckle to myself every time I write that, hear it, or say it.  Why?  Because you can hardly walk the streets of America without tripping over contempt for these nitwits, and yet apparently they have to "find" it.

 Imagine that!

First, he was found guilty a DC court.  That was a forgone conclusion.  The juries as well as the jurists in Washington are blatantly corrupt in their approach to law.   The "Honorable". Carl J. Nichols, the jurist presiding over the Bannon trial, by limiting the witnesses Bannon could call in his defense, seemed to make inevitable a guilty verdict. Was Bannon found guilty because jury and judge feared a mob reaction if he were acquitted?

This will be appealed and overturned as the "Honorable" Carl J. Nichols",  a clearly biased judge refused to allow his defense witnesses or arguments, especially that this January 6th commission is an illegal because the House is required to have both parties represented on these committees and Pelosi refused the Republican's members, instead making the choice for them, against the will of the Republican leadership

David Zukerman asks these questions of the judge and the jury:

  • Were they afraid of mob violence if he was found innocent?
  • Are you concerned that if you find the defendant not guilty of refusing to comply with a subpoena issued by a House committee completely hand-picked by Speaker Pelosi, contrary to the rules of the committee, your home will be targeted for protests?

So, these leftists rigged the trial to make sure a totally inappropriate guilty verdict was delivered?   And they did that for the good of the nation?   All in order to protect who?  And from whom, their fellow corrupt leftists at BLM, OR ANTIFA?

Let's move on.

It's been clear for so long that Fauci is corrupt to the core, lying to everyone, including President Trump.  Now that the House has been returned to the Republicans, the Member of Congress that is an absolute bloodhound when it comes to these political criminals is Jim Jordan, and he says they're going after him. Fauci lied, and untold millions died.  Why hasn't he been charged with crimes, and especially crimes against humanity?

Jordan notes "Congress could issue a criminal referral to prosecute Fauci, but it won't happen".

There "could be a referral, but you would refer it to the Biden Justice Department.  I don't know that — they're going to pursue that, but you can definitely do that,"........"We could do a referral potentially.  I would, frankly, prefer just to have Dr. Fauci come back in and take another round of questions here, but we're building the case".......

Those who attempted to expose his lies were "censored, blacklisted, and mocked".  "Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Fauci would go to jail under any "sane system."  Cruz went on to say:

"There has been no person who has done more to destroy trust in the scientific and medical community than Dr. Anthony Fauci, who told millions of Americans lies willingly, knowingly, glibly, supremely arrogantly," "Should there be accountability?  In any sane system he would be prosecuted for lying under oath, and he would go to jail for lying under oath to Congress".........

Sen. Paul: 'Prior COVID Infection is Protective,' But Fauci 'Dismissed It' and 'Thousands Died in Nursing Homes'Yet there is no indictment or any effort by the Biden administration to do a thing against this criminal.  What have we become?   The Biden administration is fluent in dishonesty, and rife with corruption, replete with incompetence, and treason can only explain their actions, and from the top down.  And the media, in it's collusive corruption, is incapable of seeing the lava flow of treasonous criminal activity that's obvious to the most casual observer.

A Haunting Anniversary by Julie Kelly on March 16, 2023 noted:

As we approach the third anniversary of “15 Days to Slow the Spread” there remains no accountability and no assurances that it couldn’t happen again. ............It is a day, and a decision, that will live in infamy. Trump, of course, is not solely responsible....

(Editor's Note:  Trump isn't responsible at all.  He relied on government "experts" who lied to him, Fauci ‘Orchestrated an Elaborate Cover-Up’ in First Days of Pandemic.  Now they're attempting to excoriate Trump, and if he'd have ignored them, they'd have demanded his head.  Get over it! RK)

Drs. Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx shrewdly won the affection and trust of the American people early on, so any move contrary to their counsel would have created an even bigger crisis in the White House. Prior to the official declaration, Republican governors warned shut downs were imminent. Congressional Republicans with a few exceptions—Rep. Tom Massie (R-Ky.) comes to mind—grasped the devastating impact on the most vulnerable, especially children, the poor, and the elderly. The national news media amplified the untested “mitigation” approach without a shred of skepticism..........Public health “experts” became international celebrities simply by making up data and forecasting unrealized predictions of doom and death. Local police officers ran joggers off public beaches.........

Let's get over this idea scientists are all about truth.  Truth is no longer, and hasn't for many decades, the golden calf of science.  It's now grant money, and as a result of all this lying and corruption,  Dr. Tony Fauci Increased Personal Wealth from $7.6 Million to $12.6 Million During Pandemic – A 65% Increase in Wealth! (VIDEO)

The end result? Death rates are substantially higher than normal, and now that the science is so overwhelming that it can no longer be ignored, it's being openly stated, the mRNA vaccines are neither safe nor effective, but outright dangerous.

Chinese Owner of Temu Moves HQ to Ireland as Consumers Increasingly Wary of Chin

Chinese Owner of Temu Moves HQ to Ireland as Consumers Increasingly Wary of China

By Alex Wu May 14, 2023

Chinese e-commerce giant PDD Holdings, which owns the online shopping platform Temu, has moved its official headquarters to Ireland from China in recent days.  A growing number of Chinese companies are trying to downplay their China ties as aggression from communist China continues to inflame tensions with the West and liberal democratic nations and creates increasing aversion to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in global trade. Temu was founded in 2022 in Boston by parent company PDD Holdings Inc., which operates Pinduoduo—a cheaper version of Amazon—in China.  In a recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing, PDD listed Dublin as its “principal administrative office,” replacing its main office in Shanghai...........To Read More...

My Take - This is the chameleon rule of leftism.  Keep changing to keep everyone confused and ignorant of what they're doing to destroy society, just like "Satan, dressing up as a beautiful angel of light. So it shouldn’t surprise us when his servants masquerade as servants of God."

IN-DEPTH: US Starts Dismantling the CCP’s Overseas ‘Mafia’ Apparatus

By Eva Fu May 10, 2023

Yu Jing, who escaped China after being persecuted for her faith, did not expect that she would feel her freedom threatened in her newfound home.  Once an official with the state-run China Petroleum Pipeline Bureau in communist China, Yu lost her job and was subjected to three arrests and two house raids for her faith in Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa.   The spiritual practice involves a set of moral teachings with truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance as its core principles, as well as five meditative exercises. By 1999, an estimated 70 million to 100 million people were practicing in mainland China. Viewing the practice’s popularity as a threat to the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) power, then-leader Jiang Zemin ordered a brutal nationwide campaign of suppression that continues today.............“Never would I imagine that in a free society like the United States, these pro-Chinese Communist Party agents could be so out of control,” she told The Epoch Times, recalling her shock at the time.  Many in the overseas Chinese dissident community have long known such pro-Beijing protesters to be organized by local groups closely tied to the CCP.  A federal indictment last month confirmed this connection..........To Read More......

FBI Arrests 2 Over Secret Chinese Police Station in NYC - By Andrew Thornebrooke and Eva Fu April 17, 2023Updated: April 24, 2023 - The FBI arrested two people on April 17 on charges of operating a secret police station in New York City on behalf of China’s regime, according to the Justice Department (DOJ). The duo, Lu Jianwang, 61, and Chen Jinping, 59, conspired to work as agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and took orders from the regime in order to track down and silence Chinese dissidents living in the United States, prosecutors said. The police station is believed to be one of more than 100 overseas stations operated by the Chinese regime in 53 countries, according to Safeguard Defenders, a Spain-based nonprofit.  The effort revealed an immense violation of U.S. sovereignty by the CCP and a flagrant violation of international law, according to U.S. District Attorney Breon Peace...........

P&D Geopolitical Edition

By Rich Kozlovich

On February 12, 2023 published this piece in Canada Free Press, China: Our Teflon Enemy, saying:

The communist dictators of China are brutal authoritarians who have been repressing the basic human rights of their own people for decades. In China, citizens do not have an independent media or the freedom to speak, assemble, petition their government, or practice their religious faith.

All of which are violations of the UN Charter.  He goes on to discuss how China viciously crushed the freedom movement in Hong Kong.  The human rights abuses against 12 million Muslims, even the children aren't safe.  The brutality of the Tienanmen Square stand off with thousand arrested and murdered.

Sadly, China did not have to pay much of a penalty for this mass killing of peaceful demonstrators. President George H. W. Bush criticized the barbarous behavior, suspended some diplomatic exchanges, and curtailed military sales. While some minor economic sanctions were imposed, nothing significant was done to hinder the progression of U.S.-China relations.

They did nothing to stop the spying from China, the did so little to punish China for their crimes against humanity, it amounted to nothing.  The big show made by America's leaders was just that, a big show, because the economic business continued as usual.  They sold out the nation in favor of greedy and corrupt multinational corporations, and that's been made obvious by the actions and words of the leaders of the World Economic Forum at Davos this year.

By the Clinton administration, the Chinese had ramped up massive espionage in our country. In 1995, a classified document from the Chinese government was given to the Clinton administration. It showed that the Chinese had stolen “information on the W-88 and half a dozen other U.S. nuclear warheads.” In 1999, the Congress released the “Cox Report” which determined that China had been “stealing” secrets at U.S. nuclear laboratories for “at least the past several decades.”

Communism and fascism are two side of the same coin, socialism.  For decades we've seen the corrupt cowards at the UN condemn Israel for having the "audacity" to defend itself against the most evil movement to ever to exist, Islam.  Socialism comes in second only because it hasn't been in existence as long.  Yet this evil movement and the inhuman actions by it's adherents such as Cuba, China, are Russia are not only ignored, they've actually had seats on the UN Human Rights Council.

Why are they ever admitted?  Why are they allowed to continue to be members?  The world knows China is right now guilty of perpetrating crimes against humanity.  The world knows Russia violated the security of Ukraine launching an undeclared and unprovoked war against that nation.  All violations of the UN Charter.  So, why are Russia and China on the Security Council?  Because The UN is the most corrupt and incompetent organization on the planet, and everyone knows it, so that brings me to the real question that needs answering.

If all that I've said is true, and it is!  And if every leader in the world knows it, and they do, why has the United States, the nation that pays most of the bills, chosen to still a part of the UN?

Does Hunter Biden have an FBI 'mole' called 'One Eye' on his string?

March 23, 2023 By Monica Showalter

Based on the revelations found in his abandoned laptop, Hunter Biden fancied himself as something of an 007 -- a man who hangs with spies, a man who lives fast and looses with the femme fatales, a man of luxury ... but now the reports of what that meant are getting very gamy indeed:

According to Miranda Devine at the New York Post:

Hunter Biden had an FBI mole named “One-Eye” who tipped off his Chinese business partners that they were under investigation, according to an Israeli energy expert arrested in Cyprus last month on gunrunning charges.

The House Oversight Committee is investigating the explosive claims by Dr. Gal Luft, a former Israel Defense Forces lieutenant colonel with deep intelligence ties in Washington and Beijing, who says he was arrested to stop him from revealing what he knows about the Biden family and FBI corruption — details he told the Department of Justice in 2019, which he says it ignored.

Luft, 56, first made the claims on Feb. 18 on Twitter, after being detained at a Cyprus airport as he prepared to board a plane to Israel.

“I’ve been arrested in Cyprus on a politically motivated extradition request by the U.S. The U.S., claiming I’m an arms dealer. It would be funny if it weren’t tragic. I’ve never been an arms dealer.

Hunter Biden was a spy runner? With an FBI "mole" on his string? In addition to his other international man of mystery duties for "the big guy"? ..........To Read More...

Daniel Greenfield Unleashed

By Rich Kozlovich

Daniel Greenfield is prolific and does battle in a lot of trenches. Please enjoy his latest posts on Front Page Magazine.

  • Biden Sabotaged State of the Union With Too Many Lies - Some records are good, others are bad. Many viewers sitting through Biden’s State of the Union address noted his rushed delivery. I wrote, “His pathetic rant, breathy, rushed, angry.” One reason for the rushed delivery is that he was trying to get in too many lies. ..........
  • Mayoral Race Shows Chicago Voters are Racist Homophobic Sexists - Mayor Lori Lightfoot in Chicago is having a tough time in her reelection campaign because everything is horrible. 71 percent of voters believed Chicago was on the “wrong track”; 61 percent disapproved of Lightfoot’s job as the top executive of the city and gave Lightfoot a high unfavorable rating of 54 percent. Lightfoot is running a close 3rd.............It must be because Chicago voters hate a strong black lesbian woman. Do they have no respect for the glass ceiling? The historic nature of the first black lesbian woman to run Chicago into the ground?...............
  • Biden Admin Failed to Warn Allies About Chinese Spy Balloons - A lot of scandals, especially those accompanied by denials and contradictory stories begin with, “when did he know and when did he know it?” The Chinese spy balloon situation is no different. There are still mixed messages and contradictions as to who in the government knew about the Chinese surveillance program.  After initially insisting that NORAD couldn’t spot the balloons and the administration had no idea, we’re getting extensive information about the program’s operations..........
  • San Fran Slavery Reparations Postponed Due to Hooters - “We will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like beer and righteousness like a visit to Hooters.”  The former Confederate territory of San Francisco had been considering slavery reparations, sadly the meeting to discuss payments to people based on skin color in violation of the Civil Rights Act had to be put on hold for the best of all possible reasons in keeping with the great traditions of civil rights, as the San Francisco Standard reports..............

Daniel Greenfield Unleashed

By Rich Kozlovich

Daniel Greenfield is a prolific writer with a keen instinct for getting to the heart of a story, and there's are reason why.  He understands clearly the left isn't just wrong, it's evil.  He understands the Democrat party is now no longer an America political party, and is called the party of treason for a reason.  He clearly understands there's a reason the Republican party is called the stupid party.  He understands clearly Islam is not a religion, it's a criminal political movement masquerading as a religion. Once all that's understood, everything else is easy to understand. Here's my latest offering of

Biden Admin Allows Chine to Fly Spy Balloon Over Montana - Two Air Force F-22 fighters scrambled before the administration decided not to shoot it down.  China knows what it’s doing. It pushes harder and harder because it knows that western nations are weak and will back down. And we never disappoint.........But don’t worry, Biden sent a strong message..........“We will be very angry. And then we will write a letter telling you how angry we are.”............

Mohamed Rapes 2 Little Girls in Minnesota, Gets Less Than a Year in Prison - He will not be required to register as a sex offender.  Technically not one of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s constituents, but just another of the gifts that resettling Minnesota with the best that Somalia has to offer has gifted America with.............At some point, the plea deal was upgraded to 176 days in prison. Or a good deal less...........

Under Islam, 7-year-olds are considered fair game, but 4-5 year olds might be a bit much, even for Mohammed, the original one, (PBUH – Pedophilia Be Upon Him) even though one account describes the  pedophile warlord marrying a little girl who played with dolls, still Mohamed, this one, has a Somali name and Somalia is the country with the tenth highest child marriage rate.  The decision to import large numbers of Somalis means we end up playing by their rules............

After FrontPageMag Report, Florida Investigates ADL’s Curriculum - The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is taking a hard look at “No Place for Hate”. In December, Front Page Magazine published an exclusive investigation of the ADL’s curriculum. “The ADL’s Racist School Curriculum Violates Florida Law,” went viral and was credited by many with helping unlock the organization’s descent into wokeness..........Now, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement has reportedly begun investigating the ADL’s “No Place for Hate” curriculum...............

Dems Embrace Omar as GOP Votes to Boot Her Over Antisemitism - “Some people did something”   After some back and forth, the House GOP voted to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar over her anti-American and antisemitic statements. The resolution mentioned Omar’s repeated smears of Jews and Israel, as well as her infamous “some people did something” response to 9/11, and her statement, “We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban”. Omar has made no secret of hating America and Jews. Brief efforts by moderate Dems to condemn her were quickly sidelined. And in the face of the House GOP vote, Democrats embraced her as never before. The media refused to cover Omar’s history of antisemitism and instead rebroadcast claims that sanctioning her over antisemitism is racist and Islamophobic............

Biden’s Afghan Weapons in Hands of Terror Group That Plotted U.S. Attacks - They scouted the Capitol building and killed Americans, now they have our guns.  Lashkar-e-Taiba caught the world’s attention during the Mumbai massacre in 2008 when terrorists trained by the Jihadist group funded by Osama bin Laden unleashed a wave of violence across the Indian city that killed over 150 people including six Americans. After murdering Americans and scouting potential targets in the United States, including a chemical plant and the Capitol Building, harboring the 1993 World Trade Center bombing operative and a terrorist who opened fire at CIA headquarters, the Islamic terror group is now arming its men with the weapons that Biden abandoned to the Taliban in Afghanistan...............

The Biden Scandal is Getting More Bizarre by the Day

By Rich Kozlovich

Not only is this story bizarre, it's frightening in all it's ramifications. We now know there aren't only issues with the fact Joe Biden illegally stole classified documents, it's much bigger.  We also know he knew this was forbidden, there's a lot more to the story, and he has history over this issue of classified documents.  We'll come back to that.

Now, it's been known and acknowledged, "National Archives does over classify items they deem essential to presidential records", however, in Trump's case he had the authority to declassify all of them.  Biden had no authority to declassify any of them, or more importantly, to even possess them.  And how bizarre is this, the National Archives dismissed claims of mishandled Obama-Biden documents weeks before first batch was found.  Wow!   You really gotta hand to those guys, they're really right on top of this stuff.  Or maybe they could just admit there's so much crap being classified, they don't have a clue how much is out there.  And that's what I believe.

While the Democrats and their myrmidons in the DOJ treated this issue with Trump as outrageous, unprecedented and a threat to the security of the nation, that fact is it was common knowledge "former top government officials playing fast and loose with classified materials" and that was an "open secret?".

But ghosts have a habit of returning to haunt, especially if it's political in nature.  Joe Biden, in the past, actually torpedoed Ted Sorensen as the Director of CIA under Jimmy Carter for "his improper acquisition of classified materials".   Sorensen said Biden should get “prize for political hypocrisy in a town noted for political hypocrisy.”  Well, you have to give Biden a prize for consistency, he's still a hypocrite of massive proportions, the man who destroyed Sorensen, and even suggested "Sorensen might be subject to prosecution under the Espionage Act, illicitly stored classified materials unsecured in his garage and at least three other places.

The Nitwit Brigade found Trump's handling of classified material, all of which he declassified and kept in a secure location, was outrageous, but now, Rep. Clyburn who chaired that Kangaroo Court, aka, the January 6 Committee, takes a very casual view kind of like,  oh, well, you know, stuff happens.

And this scandal keeps getting bizarre, as Hunter Biden and his laptop come into play, his connections with the Chinese, his rent to his father for access to Biden's house with complete access to all that classified material, and he has no security clearance nor did any of the many visitors he brought there, which even the Communist News Network, aka, CNN, acknowledged there are issues over these "mysterious" meetings with Joe, Hunter and foreign parties when Joe was the Vice President.

There is a lot of evidence the FBI and other intelligence agencies worked to make sure the information regarding Hunter Biden’s Laptop from Hell, was censored.  Why? Is it because we now know "Kathy Chung, Biden’s executive assistant for Joe Biden when he was vice president, was a close associate of Hunter Biden who gave him what a retired top general called a “treasure trove” of intelligence information that was ultimately leaked from his infamous laptop"? And one of his laptop's is still missing.  That was a massive intelligence leak that really was of potential national significance.  She's now "deputy director of protocol for Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin."  Who really is this mystery woman, and who is she connected to?

Meetings with people without any official record of those visits.  All of which justify answers to some questions about Hunter's housing expenses.  And since Biden never declared that money on his tax returns, we need a clear look at Biden's tax returns, and what, if anything, does Chairman Xi Have on Beijing Biden.

The White House answers all this by saying: The Republicans are hypocrites.  No matter whether that's true of not is immaterial.  What's material is Joe Biden stole classified documents and allowed them to be exposed to unknown uncleared persons, and that's not "transparency"  being addressed by the White House.  Also, the story changes like the seasons.  First his home was used for official business and now it wasn't. Which is it?  Or does the narrative of the moment determine that?

This becomes all the more concerning since there is evidence the Chinese were funding the UPenn Biden Center on Security, the Biden Think Tank....clearly a misnomer....where records were also stored, unsecured, and since Joe became President, anonymous Chinese donors have poured millions into that university, and Biden Inc. is still in business!

Also, why, especially after that outrageous raid on Mar-A-Lago, would Biden's personal attorneys, presumable uncleared for any classified material they found, be allowed to do so, totally unsupervised by the FBI, as they searched his home?  And why would the DOJ  order the FBI to stand down and allow this to happen?  Is it unreasonable to believe Joe's attorneys had no reason to be packing up that material except to cover up criminal activity? Does anyone believe Merrick Garland's actions aren't 100% politically motivated?

We now have two Special Counsels appointed, one for Trump and one for Biden, but is there any doubt there's only one conclusion, even though it's clear, Biden has UNDENIABLY committed multiple felonies, and now Biden wants Merritt Garland to make them go away.

There are three conclusions.

  1.  Biden is flat out guilty, and a corrupt, and evil regime want's Trump to be crushed and jailed, because he wanted to end  "Deep State thuggery, national self-sabotage, and Uniparty-engineered American decline."
  2. The FBI writes case for its own abolition - "Disproportionately huge resources within the agency are being dedicated to January 6 protestors, likely to the detriment of more important investigations."  Corruption, crime and treason on the left is being ignored, and even encouraged.   The day needs to come when these officials are brought to justice for their criminal activity.
  3. The Democrats are working to destroy Biden.
Kamala is singing, I'm gonna be President, ad nauseum.   What could possibly go wrong?

TRUMP WAS RIGHT: China Placed Huawei Equipment Atop Cell Towers on Purchased Farm Land Near US Military Bases – Capable of Disrupting and Capturing Signals

By Jim Hoft Published July 24, 2022

As reported earlier by We Love Trump a Chinese company recently paid $2.6 million for 300 acres of farmland in Grand Forks, North Dakota.  The parcel of land’s location near a US Air Force base that houses sensitive drone technology has lawmakers on Capitol Hill worried about potential espionage by Beijing.  The Chinese firm Fufeng Group recently purchased 300 acres of farmland in North Dakota just down the road from a US Air Force base that houses sensitive drone technology near Grand Forks.  The farmland is just a 20-minute drive to the Grand Forks Air Force Base............To Read More....

Insane: A School District Spied on Parents and Reported Social Media Activity to Their Employers

Matt Vespa Matt Vespa @mvespa1 Mar 03, 2022

Who the hell are these people? Where do they get the stones to do something like this? You’re a school district. You’re not the Stasi. You’re not special. You’re a bunch of overpaid education bureaucrats that don’t work hard. If you have time to conduct this sort of operation, there are massive gaps in the workday. Apparently, we have a school district that spied on parents, compiled a dossier of their social media activity, and reported such activity to the employers of these problematic parents. And by ‘problematic’, I mean, they were politically conservative. This little spy game was conducted by Rochester Schools, which is located outside Detroit.............A To Read More.....

Lawless DOJ Caught Opening Rep. Louie Gohmert’s House Mail Before It Reaches His Office — Gohmert Speaks Out on House Floor (VIDEO)

By Jim Hoft February 8, 2022 1486 Comments

The lawlessness continues. The Biden Department of Justice was recently caught opening Rep. Louie Gohmert’s House mail before it reached his office. One letter was from a Christian missionary. One letter was from a constituent in Texas.  And, once again, we know the Marxist Democrats will get away with it. The laws are made for the little people, the serfs. Louie Gohmert posted this statement on Twitter earlier today........To Read More.....

The Capitol Police have been fully weaponized against Republicans

February 9, 2022  By Andrea Widburg

If you visited D.C. in the days before COVID and January 6 madness, and wandered around (or got permission to go into) the Capitol, you saw Capitol police officers on duty. They were doing pretty much what all police officers do, which is to stand guard at vulnerable spots, making sure no one did anything naughty (e.g., graffiti) or downright dangerous (e.g., gun or knife attacks, etc.). However, beginning with January 6, 2021, it became apparent that Nancy Pelosi’s Capitol police officers have a different mandate: Defend the Democrat party hold on power..........

And if you’re inclined to distrust the Capitol police, you’re not going to like hearing what happened last November to Congressman Troy Nehls, a Republican from Texas who has locked horns with Nancy Pelosi. According to him, the Capitol police entered his office illegally and took pictures of confidential information on his desk:..............

Congressman Nehls’s newly revealed claim about an intrusion into his office follows on the heels of assertions that the Capitol police have been spying on congressmen, their staff, and anyone who comes to their offices. Then there’s the fact that the Capitol police are no longer confined to the Capitol but are, instead, setting up offices near San Francisco and somewhere in Florida..........it appears that, under Nancy Pelosi’s supervision, the Capitol police are getting way too big for their breeches, their inspector general has opened a formal investigation into their spying on congresspeople, staff, and visitors:.......To Read More....

The Biden Regime is Using the U.S. Postal Service to Surveil Political Adversaries

By

The Biden regime is reportedly using the law enforcement arm of the U.S. Postal Service to surveil social media posts of Americans who don’t support Joe Biden.  A document obtained by Yahoo News reveals that the Post Office “has been quietly running a program that tracks and collects Americans’ social media posts, including those about planned protests.”

The previously unknown surveillance program is called iCOP, or the Internet Covert Operations Program, Yahoo reported.  The political espionage reportedly involves having “analysts trawl through social media sites to look for what the document describes as “inflammatory” postings and then sharing that information across government agencies.”

“Analysts with the United States Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) Internet Covert Operations Program (iCOP) monitored significant activity regarding planned protests occurring internationally and domestically on March 20, 2021,”a March 16 government bulletin said. “Locations and times have been identified for these protests, which are being distributed online across multiple social media platforms, to include right-wing leaning Parler and Telegram accounts.”

The bulletin was marked as “law enforcement sensitive” and distributed through the Department of Homeland Security’s fusion centers, according to Yahoo...............To Read More....

Zoom executive exposed as Chinese Communist spy who sabotaged anti-China video conferences with child porn and terrorism: DOJ

A former executive at Zoom, who shut down video conferences that were not flattering to China, was exposed as a spy for the Chinese Communist Party, according to the Department of Justice.  Xinjiang Jin, aka Julien Jin, was an employee of the American video conferencing company. The 39-year-old, who was based in China's Zhejiang Province, worked as a "security technical leader" for tech company headquartered in San Jose, California. Jin served as a liaison between Zoom and the Chinese government after Beijing blocked the company's service in China in September 2019.

Jin provided the Chinese Communist Party with information about users and meetings, even supplying the CCP with IP addresses from anyone who held anti-China sentiments, say federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, New York.  According to the complaint filed in United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, Jin reportedly participated in a plot to disrupt a series of meetings in May and June that commemorated the Tiananmen Square massacre, where at least 280 pro-democracy demonstrators were shot dead......To Read More....

China Engaged in ‘Mass Surveillance’ on Americans’ Mobile Phones, Report Finds

By Cathy He December 17, 2020 Updated: December 18, 2020

The Chinese regime exploited vulnerabilities in the global mobile telecommunications network to conduct “mass surveillance” on Americans, according to a recent report by a cyber research firm.  By analyzing signals data, the report by Washington-based Exigent Media found that Beijing, working through state-owned telecom operator China Unicom, was the leading source of attacks against U.S. mobile users over 3G and 4G networks in 2018.

The regime exploited well-known network vulnerabilities, which allowed it to track, monitor, disrupt, and intercept communications of U.S. phone subscribers while they traveled abroad. The vulnerabilities are centered around the legacy mobile SS7 signaling system, described in the report as “a patchwork system enabling network operators around the world to communicate with each other for international roaming services.”

The Chinese cyberattacks targeted tens of thousands of U.S. mobile users from 2018 to 2020, Gary Miller, the report’s author and a former mobile network security executive, told The Guardian...........To Read More....
