You Don't Despise the Corrupt Pravda Media Nearly as Much as They Deserve

No one in this world, so far as I know, and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me, has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people.  Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby - H.L. Mencken, 1926

Well, that's because there wasn't an internet in those days.  It's taken some time, but now we're seeing the demise of the Pravda media, as online news is overtaking traditional news sources.

Why?  Because they've been exposed as the corrupt biased liars they are.  As Jack Hellner writes, It is a joke when journalists claim they care about journalistic integrity saying:

Using the word 'integrity' and 'journalism' in the same sentence is an oxymoron.

He then goes on to list the many lies the media has perpetrated, promoted, and continue to do so, "because they have no integrity!"

The media rarely fact checks the continuous lies but can't stand the thought that any journalist would write a kind piece on Trump or want him to be reelected. And they pretend they want to unite the country and are for diversity. They can't stand diversity of thought. Most of the media has as much integrity as the 51 intelligence officers who falsely claimed the Hunter laptop looked like Russian disinformation........

Which they've been stunningly silent about since the DOJ has confirmed the Hunter Biden Laptop is real. 

Victor Davis Hanson has noted the Pravda media's lies are adding up, Russian collusion, Steele Dossier, the hysteria over Trump's impeachments, and much more.  Mark Kelly claims it's : Trump, who wants to send you to jail for disagreeing with him, but it's the Democrats who want to censor and even imprison people for publishing "misinformation" and they will decide what's disinformation.  They're implying Christians and patriots who disagree with the left are KKK members. 

The Pravda media is stunningly corrupt. They not only make up their own lies, they brazenly accept and promote lies of others, and anything that refutes those lies is labeled as misinformation destroying democracy, which should be criminalized to stop anyone from refuting the lies.

Is there a sane person on the planet that's not been aware the media has been biased for the left for decades?  They're so isolated in their little head nodding bubble they're incapable of understanding how anyone could possibly vote for Trump.  But that's not bias?

That's how they roll.

After listing some of the vile things Kamala supports, the CNN anchor is amazed at what this woman stands for.  Why!  Why didn't she know all this stuff? That's her job? She's at the center of the information universe, and yet we find she's ignorant of the facts for one of the biggest stories on the planet?  I knew it, media sites all over the nation knew it, but the anchor at CNN is shocked  She didn't know it!

Then there's NPR.  Is there any news organization that's more biased than NPR?  No, probably not, so why are tax dollars being used to fund this left wing propaganda machine?  Hopefully, that will end after the election. 

From the fake interview by Dana Bash which has destroyed what limited credibility she had,  to Operation Harris for President we're seeing their corrupt efforts to protect Kamala, and big tech's efforts to promote her.  Google is as corrupt and evil as the rest of the media.

Who's to blame for all that really serious corrupt mess in ? Well, you have to know, it's all Trump's fault.  And remember the old FDR theme, The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself, to explain his economic failures.  The according to the media it's all those bad thought that's causing a recession.  But one thing the media is absolutely sure of, nothing is the fault of Democrats.  Then we have the Israel/Hamas war.  Everything is Bibi's fault. 

The media is like Satan constantly changing themselves into Angels of Light, unendingly harping on the needs of the "common people", people they have nothing in common with, don't know, don't understand, and don't care.  They promote globalism, a form of economic slavery.  They think poor people should not have air conditioning, it's bad for the environment...global warming you know.  Stop being delusional, the media and their masters in the Democrat party care about one thing and one thing only, power, and as with all leftists, ya just gotta break a few eggs to cook an omelet, and the common folk are the eggs they're going to break.

Then there's the unbelievable nonsense in the media's defense of Tim Walz.  If Tim Walz's lips are moving, he's lying.  He lied about this military record, and there's undeniable proof of that, except for those  who work at PBS, or a failed Department head, Buttigieg, who claims this is just an act of desperation by the GOP.  CNN doubles down on defending Walz, while acknowledging he lies, and then attacked JD Vance record, in spite of the fact he embellished nothing and did exactly what he said he did. 

And the foreign media is not any better, demanding censorship over anti-migration riots, and this is from a media that plays fast and loose with rules, as the BBC broke its own rules over 1,500 times in its Israel reporting, and that's the tip of the iceberg.  

Hunter Biden, a Close Biden Adviser, Was Courted by Top China Influence Operation Boss

Hunter Biden is sitting on White House meetings and serving as a close adviser to his father. That raises even more troubling questions considering one of his recently revealed emails.

“Do you know former Governor of Hong Kong- C.H. Troung (sp?),” Hunter Biden allegedly wrote. “He wants me to come to HK to visit to discuss business opportunities. He sat next to Dad at lunch w/ Premiere and implied we knew each other- but I don’t remember him.”

The email was dispatched to Jonathan Li, the CEO of BHR, a business partner of Hunter’s who would later provide Hunter with significant payments. But even more interesting was the man who had previously sat next to Joe Biden and who now wanted to take a meeting with Hunter.

Next year, James Bulger, the nephew of mobster Whitey Bulger, sent an email in which Li urged Hunter to reach out and make the connection for him, and Hunter authorized drafting an email.

Five years later, Jonathan Li wired $250,000 to Joe Biden’s address.

While there is no former Governor ‘Troung”, there was a former Governor Tung. And a FOX News story identifies them as the same man. But Tung was much more than a former governor. He was the founder of the China–United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) which tries to influence American government officials to support Chinese Communist interests.

CUSEF, known in China as Zhong-Mei Jiaoliu Jijinhui, targeted American universities, American military personnel and American elected officials. CUSEF has been described as being coordinated by the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department which seeks to spy on and manipulate foreigners. CUSEF hires PR firms and pays lobbyists to do its work for it.

The lobbyists have to register as foreign agents under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, but the Vice President of the United States and his son were not subject to such requirements.

It was not a coincidence that Tung was seated next to Joe and Hunter at Xi’s dinner.

Such seating arrangements are not accidental at state dinners in the United States and they are certainly not accidental in a totalitarian Communist regime that views influential foreigners as targets. The CCP would have seated Tung next to the Bidens to advance the CUSEF agenda.

In the second email, Li conveyed profuse thanks for the introduction. Did Li and Hunter’s BHR company form any kind of financial relationship with Tung’s businesses? Was any part of the $250,000 wire from Li to Hunter Biden produced as a result of a financial relationship with China’s top man for influence operations aimed at America? Could this relationship have allowed a Chinese influence operation to funnel money to Biden by potentially laundering it through BHR?

The year that Tung invited Hunter to meet with him, CUSEF had spent almost half a million on lobbyists including at Covington & Burling which has close ties to the Biden administration. Including Biden’s future White House counsel. CUSEF also paid sizable amounts to the Podesta Group under the brother of Hillary’s campaign chair and Biden’s climate czar.

Tung was seen as the embodiment of China’s influence operations. The son of a wealthy Hong Kong businessman, his family business had allegedly been bailed out by a Chinese Communist sympathizer, and then became a key element in the CCP’s takeover of Hong Kong. The CCP insinuated itself into Hong Kong, promising to protect democracy and human rights, only to institute a brutal tyrannical rule that betrayed every promise and assurance it ever made.

CUSEF was the next wave aimed at a much bigger target: the United States of America.

The Chinese Communist operation has sponsored trips for members of Congress and former Sen. Max Baucus, a Biden ally, has been accused of ties to the group. Other alleged CUSEF pals include Biden’s current climate czar John Podesta as well as the Center for American Progress, an influential leftist group with a strong footing in the Biden administration, which took part in a CUSEF trip. As did Biden’s Ambassador Nina Hachigian, a CAP veteran, and other politically active leftist figures. CUSEF has also worked with the Brookings Institute which has supplied multiple personnel to the Obama and the Biden administrations.

While the email did not reveal whether Hunter Biden ever did meet with Tung, it is a worrying indicator that the Biden scion may have been seen as a weak point by elements of the CCP.

Four years after Tung sat next to Joe Biden and reached out to Hunter Biden, Foreign Policy Magazine described Tung as a “Beijing-linked Billionaire” who was “funding policy research at Washington’s most influential institutions.” It noted that “Tung currently serves as the vice chairman of one of the united front’s most important entities — the so-called Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, which is one of China’s two rubber-stamp assemblies. The body is one of Beijing’s most crucial tentacles for extending influence.”

We do not know whether Tung was ever able to ‘influence’ Hunter Biden, but the email highlights the reality that Communist China was likely trying. And that the CCP would have had larger aspirations than to just reach one dysfunctional and corrupt lawyer, but would have been angling to hook the guy at the top of the Biden crime family. Known in code as ‘The Big Guy’.

What did Joe Biden and Tung talk about when they sat next to each other? We don’t know.

And the release of the latest emails is a reminder of just how much more there is still to learn about Biden’s ties to Communist China and its operatives.

Mixed Reactions to Hunter Biden Conviction on Federal Gun Charges

Joe Biden's son was found guilty on three counts – but that hasn't silenced the skeptics.

A Delaware jury deliberated for a total of three hours – beginning on the afternoon of June 10 – before returning a verdict on June 11 in the Hunter Biden gun felony trial. Biden had been charged with three federal crimes relating to a false statement on a background check form he completed for the purchase of a revolver in October of 2018. The president’s son was found guilty on all counts – a perhaps unsurprising outcome that drew mixed reactions from Joe Biden’s political opponents.

The case was prosecuted by David C. Weiss, a Department of Justice (DOJ) special counsel appointed to investigate the first son for possible tax-related crimes. Biden was convicted of making a false statement related to information required to be kept by a federally licensed gun dealer, making a false statement in the purchase of a gun, and possession of a gun by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance.

Put together, the three charges carry a maximum prison sentence of 25 years, plus a fine of up to $250,000 for each charge. The Department of Justice frequently declines to prosecute private citizens suspected of lying on a background check form for a gun purchase. That could be why several of Joe Biden’s critics have called the trial and the verdict a “distraction.” Some of them, such as Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC), have suggested that prosecuting Hunter Biden on these charges amounted to an attempt by the DOJ to prove that the criminal justice system has not been weaponized along ideological lines.

Hunter Biden Verdict Met with Cynicism

Mace described it as “the veil of fairness,” while Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA) wrote on the X social media platform, “Hunter Biden’s guilty verdict is nothing more than the Left’s attempt to create the illusion of equal justice. Don’t fall for it.”

Another Republican, Rep. Jason Smith of Missouri, seemed a little less skeptical, writing, “Today’s verdict is a step towards ensuring equal application of the law, regardless of one’s last name.” However, Smith also pointed out, “If it were not for the IRS whistleblowers coming forward to the Ways and Means Committee, Hunter Biden would have never faced accountability for the crimes he has committed [emphasis Smith’s].”

Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign released a statement shortly after the verdict was announced:

“This trial has been nothing more than a distraction from the real crimes of the Biden Crime Family, which has raked in tens of millions of dollars from China, Russia and Ukraine. Crooked Joe Biden’s reign over the Biden Family Criminal Empire is all coming to an end on November 5th, and never again will a Biden sell government access for personal profit.”

Still others weren’t going to let the DOJ off the hook, pointing out that, in 2023, Hunter Biden almost obtained what many called a “sweetheart deal.” He was ready to plead guilty to certain tax crimes in exchange for the gun charges being dropped. A judge nixed that deal after seeing that a clause in the fine print would have granted Biden virtual immunity from all future charges. 

After the Trump Guilty Verdict saying he was “disappointed” in the outcome of the trial but grateful for the support he had received from his family. He faces another trial on tax charges, set to begin in Los Angeles on Sept. 5.

Making any prediction about the sentence for his gun felonies – which, of course, Hunter Biden will be able to appeal – would be entirely speculative. However, if Joe Biden’s son avoids jail time, it would not be a vindication of the widely held suspicion that Biden’s DOJ is operating a politically motivated two-tier system of criminal justice. Not only are these types of crimes seldom prosecuted, but it is rarer still for a private citizen to be incarcerated for such a transgression.

Hunter Biden Business Partner: Corruption All the Way to the Top

‘The Biden family business was Joe Biden, period.’

Former US Navy officer Tony Bobulinski was a Biden family business associate. He worked with both Hunter Biden and Joe Biden’s brother, James. On Feb. 13, Bobulinski sat for a transcribed interview before the Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the Committee on the Judiciary for the House of Representatives. What he told lawmakers, if it is all true, should alarm every American.

In his opening statement, Bobulinski painted a broad picture of corruption, influence peddling, and the potentially lethal infiltration of the White House by “our most existential adversary,” the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

  Not much of a political animal, by his own admission, Bobulinski did share that he has “made a few campaign contributions over the years to Democrats such as Congressman Ro Khanna.” Mentioning Rep. Khanna (CA) – who sits on the Oversight Committee – by name was presumably a matter of full disclosure.

Joe Biden, currently the subject of an impeachment inquiry, has long insisted that he never discussed business with his son. Over time, this denial has evolved into never being involved in his son’s business affairs. The most recent tweak to the narrative came from Hunter Biden himself when, in December 2023, he defied a congressional subpoena and instead made a statement to the media in which he said his father “was not financially involved” in his business dealings. Bobulinski was emphatic that the senior Biden was very much involved – and that he has the evidence to prove it.

Though the witness did not directly claim in his statement that Joe Biden personally benefited from deals Hunter Biden made, he did say:

“Joe Biden’s immediate family members were enriched to the tune of tens of millions of dollars from some of our most dangerous adversaries, including the Chinese Communist Party and players from Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Kazakhstan and other foreign nations and entities.”

Joe and Hunter Biden – Guilt by Association?

As far as Bobulinski is concerned, that is enough to incriminate the current White House incumbent. To support that belief, he cited “recent discussions with experts” who confirmed to him that “under U.S. corruption laws, political office holders can be held as responsible as the immediate family members who are receiving money directly.”

Joe Biden met with Bobulinski himself “multiple times to discuss the broad contours of our business dealings,” according to the latter’s statement. Republican investigators already have acquired a body of evidence that Joe Biden attended several events at which he met foreign businessmen with whom Hunter Biden was dealing and spoke on the phone with some of Hunter’s overseas clients.

“The only reason any of these international business transactions took place – with tens of millions of dollars flowing directly to the Biden family – was because Joe Biden was in high office,” Bobulinski told the committees. “The Biden family business was Joe Biden, period.”

The most worrying part, however, is not Bobulinski saying, “For nearly four years, I have tried to tell the American people the truth about serious corruption at the very top of their government.” Corruption is as old as politics itself, after all. What should really disturb even the most objective observer is the dots connecting the Bidens to the CCP. The witness described it this way:

“The Chinese Communist Party through its surrogate, China Energy Company Limited, or ‘CEFC’ – a CCP-linked Chinese energy conglomerate – successfully sought to infiltrate and compromise Joe Biden and the Obama-Biden White House.”

He claimed this “process” began in late 2015 and continued through the end of the Obama administration and up until March 2018. At about the time, as Bobulinski noted, CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming was arrested on corruption charges in China and has not been seen or heard of since. According to testimony from another Biden family associate, Rob Walker, Joe Biden attended a meeting with Ye in 2015, which spawned the Biden-CEFC partnership.

In 2017, Hunter Biden was at Joe Biden’s Delaware house and “sitting here with my father” when he sent a text message to a CEFC executive, Raymond Zhao, and threatened dire consequences if the Chinese company didn’t pay up. Within 10 days, CEFC paid more than $5 million into accounts linked to Hunter and James Biden.

Despite White House denials, the evidence against Hunter Biden is piling up, and more and more Joe Biden himself appears to be implicated. A powerful politician on the take is one thing. That the man who was once the second-highest ranking politician in the country – and who is now the highest-ranking – might have been on the take from a company linked to the Chinese Communist Party is much, much more concerning.

Hunter Biden’s character has been ‘impugned’ by… ‘MAGA Republicans’

Hunter Biden is a man of many talents: he’s an energy expert serving the good folks at Burisma; he’s a reality television star of his own making, recounting his gritty and raw experiences digging old parmesan cheese shavings out of the carpet; he’s an accomplished artist with work that has defied all odds and raked in millions of dollars; he’s a keen business man who knows how to play hardball and can “cut” deals with people from all walks of life; he’s apparently secured membership at a very private, and very elite club known as Snctm; and, he’s even a comedian (a funny one at that)!

Just the other day, Hunter held a quick press conference outside Congress to iterate that Joe had “no involvement” in any business dealings to which Hunter was tied. AT contributor Patricia McCarthy wrote a superb essay, from another angle, found here, but I want to focus my attention on one specific line, because it was legitimately hilarious, via Yahoo News:

In his statement on Capitol Hill, Mr Biden Jr said: ‘For six years, MAGA Republicans, including members of the House committees who are in a closed-door session right now, have impugned my character, invaded my privacy, attacked my wife, my children, my family, and my friends.

‘They ridiculed my struggle with addiction, they belittled my recovery, and they have tried to dehumanise [sic] me – all to embarrass and damage my father, who has devoted his entire public life to service.

‘For six years, I have been the target of the unrelenting Trump attack machine, shouting: ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well, here’s my answer: ‘I am here’.’

My Take - This nothing is my fault, even if I did it, and even if it can be proved I did it, is now a ubiquitous theme.  But Hunter takes the cake. He's in corruption so deep I guess he feels he has nothing to lose and the media will run with this as cover, and as long as his dad is President and can pardon him, he feels he needs all the PR to promote the idea he's innocent and as pure as the new driven snow.  And the public will buy into that.   And it gets even worse because it appears his sister Ashley, also seems to have a tax problem of her own.  It's a shame those darned Republicans just won't leave them alone so they can commit crime and cheat for the rest of their lives in peace.

Former Assistant US Attorney Lesley Wolf has some explaining to do after being accused of interfering with a federal investigation of Hunter Biden. Wolf was the target of several accusations made by an IRS whistleblower, Gary Shapley. The Justice Department (DOJ) ex-official was subpoenaed in November by the House Judiciary Committee to address Shapley’s allegations that she “limited” investigators’ questioning of witnesses, blocked a search warrant for Hunter Biden’s place of residence in 2020, and tipped off Joe Biden’s son’s legal team that a search of his storage unit had been planned.

No longer employed at the DOJ, Wolf sat for a closed-door interview on December 14 and, according to Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH), declined to answer most questions. “She refused to answer based on instructions she was given from the Justice Department,” Jordan said.

The Biden Clan’s Con Is Coming to an End

Hunter is still out of control, and could take the family down with him

Despite years of Biden family and media disinformation, we are finally learning that Joe Biden really did fire Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin for looking into state corruption involving the oil company Burisma and Hunter Biden—and ultimately Joe Biden himself.

In contrast, a combative and boisterous Trump fought openly and constantly with federal archivists over which of his papers at his Mar-a-Lago estate were truly classified.

As Vice President, Biden, in his own words, bragged that he had threatened to cancel the deliverance of American foreign aid to Ukraine unless Shokin was dismissed.

So what is the Congress to do now—un-impeach and exonerate an innocent impeached Donald Trump, and instead impeach a guilty Biden for essentially the same allegations?

After all, the Left redefined the impeachment bar in 2019 as leveraging foreign aid to Ukraine to benefit one’s political career.

And that is exactly what Joe Biden did to ensure his son could continue to raise millions for the Biden family with foreign governments, while being shielded from political consequences.

An impeached Trump also was accused of using the power of government to go after his likely 2020 presidential rival by suggesting that Joe Biden and his family were corrupt, and should be investigated by Ukrainian officials for fraud and bribery.

Despite Joe Biden’s denials, Trump was right: there was plenty of evidence to link Ukrainian unwarranted payoffs going into Biden family coffers.Report Ad 

So Trump in 2019 had good reasons to ensure that none of the Bidens were still burrowed deeply into the Ukrainian payoff machine.

In contrast, Joe Biden had far less grounds to unleash the full powers of government against his probable 2024 rival ex-president Trump.

Special Prosecutor Jack Smith is not charging Trump with bribery of the Biden sort. He does not allege that Trump gave special foreign policy preferences for those foreigners who paid his family for such services.

Instead, Smith argues that Trump unlawfully took out classified presidential papers—although Joe Biden did nearly the same.

Biden kept quiet about his vast removal of classified documents for over a decade. Not until Trump was being investigated did Biden suddenly notify the government of his illegal removals.

Prosecutorial leaks floated all sorts of unproven nefarious agendas that had prompted Trump’s disputes over his presidential papers.

But no one to this day has seriously asked why senator and then Vice President Biden secretly and weirdly removed and kept such sensitive material for years.

Recent reports allege that Hunter Biden may have been treated with kid gloves by prosecutors, partly because Hunter’s lawyers had threatened otherwise to call Joe Biden to the stand as a favorable witness.

Government prosecutors under pressure from the White House apparently balked at  the nightmare of a befuddled president of the United States testifying under oath about the supposed innocence of the very guilty Hunter Biden.

In truth, the former drug addict Hunter has played lots of such strange games with his own family.

In his laptop communications, Hunter whined that no one in the family appreciated his hard work at family grifting.

He sounded petulant that his father forced him to fork over half his income to the Joe and Jill Biden household.

At time of universal scrutiny of Hunter, the last thing any sane first son might do would be to hawk his own childish paintings at exorbitant prices to those wishing to buy influence with his father the president.

In effect, Hunter was almost daring the White House to stop his blatant grifting artistry.

Instead, the Bidens moved Hunter into the White House, apparently to keep him under closer watch.

Hunter is still out of control. He could take the family down with him unless President Biden continues to shield him from prosecution.

Ironically, the double standard used by Biden and the media to hound Trump has only raised new questions of fairness.

Why had the Biden family—with its far greater legal exposure—never faced such serial indictments?

A Republican House of Representatives had ended prior Democratic protection given the Bidens.

And the Ukraine war has again turned attention to the Biden-Burisma connection and Hunter’s shaking down of Ukrainian officials.

Finally, Joe Biden can no longer work a full day. He mutters. He stumbles. He serially lies.

He hijacks solemn occasions commemorating national tragedies by trying to one up the grieving with his own self-absorbed stories—most of them irrelevant and narcissistic half-truths.

If a cognitively and criminally challenged Biden cannot finish his term, we will finally learn the full story of 15 years of Biden family corruption.

The Bidens will lose the only impediment—Joe Biden’s political machinations—left in the way of an honest, full-blown felony investigation into what is likely the most corrupt presidential family in American history.

Viktor Shokin: Joe and Hunter Biden Were Being Bribed

On Saturday’s broadcast of FNC’s “One Nation,” former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin said he believed that both President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden were bribed. According to the former prosecutor general, he said his firing by then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko was done at the behest of then-Vice President Biden, who once boasted about it in a discussion with the Council on Foreign Relations.

“I have said repeatedly in my previous interviews that Poroshenko fired me at the insistence of the then-Vice President Biden because I was investigating Burisma,”.............“You understood me correctly. This is how it was,” he added. “There were no complaints whatsoever and no problems with how I was performing at my job. But because pressure was repeatedly put on Poroshenko, that is what ended up in him firing me.”.............“I do not want to deal in unproven facts, but my firm personal conviction is that, yes, this was the case,”..............“They were being bribed. The Bidens: "Stone Cold Crooked" (8) -- This Is Getting Ridiculous

Beginning in April 2014 — one month after then Vice President Joe Biden became “point man” for U.S. policy in Ukraine — Joe’s son Hunter took a directorship of Ukrainian energy company Burisma at a fee of $83,333 per month, or $1 million per year. Burisma was then strongly suspected of corruption, and within only a few months it came under official investigation, following the appointment in early 2015 of Victor Shokin as Ukraine’s General Prosecutor. Then in late 2015 and early 2016, VP Joe Biden engineered the firing of Shokin by threatening to withhold a billion dollars of U.S. aid, which aid he controlled at that time. Joe later admitted on a widely-viewed video that he threatened to withhold the U.S. aid as the means to get Shokin fired.

So was the million per year paid to Hunter a legitimate business transaction, or was it an obvious bribe to Joe to get him to leverage U.S. aid to Ukraine to protect Burisma from the prosecutor?

From the start, Joe and his minions have offered two defenses to the contention that this was a bribe: (1) Joe did not discuss his son’s business dealings, and was completely uninvolved; and (2) getting Shokin fired was official U.S. policy, and Joe’s tactics to accomplish the firing were merely implementing this official policy, and had nothing to do with the influence purchased with the million a year going to his son.

Defense number (1) was always absurd. For anyone other than the Bidens, payments to children of politicians are universally viewed as the complete equivalent of a direct payment to the politicians themselves for purposes of the bribery statute. But how about defense number (2)? In recent days, new facts have emerged that make defense number (2) equally untenable.

I won’t go into further detail today as to defense (1). If you think there might be something to that defense, I refer you to this post from March 2022, “The Rules About Corruption Just Don’t Apply To The Bidens,” and to the case of former New York State Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos discussed therein. Skelos is currently serving a four-year jail term for bribery, the alleged bribe consisting of a couple of hundred thousand dollars (pocket change compared to Biden-level corruption), all of which went to his son Adam. The 2021 Second Circuit decision affirming Skelos’s conviction discusses the payments to Adam as if they are the same thing as payments to Dean. And, even if Biden’s “I was not involved” defense was not absurd on its face, it has been blown up as a factual matter in the past several weeks by revelations that Joe participated in at least 20 or so conference calls and in-person meetings with Hunter and his “business” associates.

But how about defense number (2), that Joe in getting Shokin fired was just implementing U.S. policy? That defense has now also been blown to smithereens by reporting over the past few days from John Solomon at Just the News. Here is Solomon’s piece from Monday (August 21), and here is his further piece from yesterday (August 23).

From the August 21 piece:

The narrative from Biden’s defenders and government officials who testified at Trump’s first impeachment was that Biden’s action in withholding the U.S. loan guarantees had nothing to do with his son’s role at Burisma and that officials across the West and inside the U.S. government were clamoring to fire Shokin because he was deemed corrupt.

However, documents uncovered by JTN through FOIA requests and from Congressional investigators reveal exactly the opposite story. The key document is an October 1, 2015 email memorandum circulated to a large inter-agency government group (including representatives from State, Treasury, DOJ, DOE, USAID, and others) concluding that Ukraine had made sufficient progress against corruption that it should get the new billion dollar loan guarantee. The document discusses potential conditions on the aid, without mention the name Shokin or a need to fire the prosecutor. Excerpt from the memo:

The IPC concluded that (1) Ukraine has made sufficient progress on its reform agenda to justify a third guarantee and (2) Ukraine has an economic need for the guarantee and it is in our strategic interest to provide one. As such, the IPC recommends moving forward with a third loan guarantee for Ukraine in the near‐term, noting State/F’s preference to issue the guarantee as late as possible to allow more clarity on the budget context and Embassy Kyiv and Treasury’s assessment that Ukraine needs the guarantee by end‐2015.

So what happened between October 1 and Biden’s trip to Kyiv (December 8) to change things and see Joe threatening to withhold the aid to get Shokin fired? Well, there was the November 2, 2015 email chain between and among Hunter Biden and his Burisma paymasters, discussed in my August 4 post here. In that chain Burisma executive Vadym Pozharskyi states that his “only concern” was that they [Burisma and Hunter] were on the “same page re our final goals,” with the Burisma executive confirming that the “the ultimate purpose” was “to close down” “any cases/pursuits against Nikolay in Ukraine.” “Nikolay” refers to Burisma’s chairman, Mykola Zlochevsky.

Then there was the dinner Hunter was having in Dubai on December 4, 2015, following a Burisma board meeting. Mykola Zlochevsky and Vadim Pozharsky (numbers one and two at Burisma) joined Hunter for a conference call to “D.C.” (according to the Congressional testimony of Devon Archer).

Solomon’s August 23 piece at JTN documents the sudden shift in U.S. position that followed:

The decision by Joe Biden and his closest policymakers to try to force Shokin’s firing evolved over several days before he left for the December 2015 trip to Kyiv. For weeks beforehand, U.S. officials at State, Treasury and Justice recommended Ukraine get its $1 billion in loan guarantees because Shokin's office had made adequate progress in anticorruption reforms. . . . By the time Biden got to Kyiv on Dec. 8-9, 2015, he had further altered the plan, deciding to threaten withholding the loan guarantees until Poroshenko fired Shokin, something he would brag about doing in a 2018 video tape.

At this point this is getting ridiculous. The firing of Shokin was not official U.S. policy at all (other than as dictated by Biden himself), and was in immediate response to a specific demand from Hunter’s paymasters at Burisma.

There has never been a U.S. President so obviously and thoroughly corrupt. It is shameful.

Hunter Biden’s Broken Car Cost Taxpayers $139 Million

When Hunter Biden was driving 172 miles an hour while smoking crack on the way to meet prostitutes in Las Vegas, the son of a future president was driving a Porsche 911.

Devon Archer, Hunter’s closest partner, told the House Oversight Committee that the car had been paid for by an oligarch from Kazakhstan. “I believe it was a Fisker first and then a Porsche.”

Kenes Rakishev, the banker for Kazakhstan’s dictator and a close associate of Ramzan Kadyrov, Putin’s ruthless Chechen warlord, had allegedly bought Hunter the sports car after a meeting with Joe and Hunter at Cafe Milano: an exclusive D.C. eatery that the Washington Post had described as “Washington’s ultimate place to see and be seen.”

The Fisker Karma was more than just another sports car. The electric luxury vehicle was a social statement that had been backed by a $529 million loan to the Europeans behind it.

Vice President Joe Biden, told local politicians, union members, and Fisker executives in Wilmington, Delaware in 2009 that Fisker would be bringing green jobs for everyone..

Joe Biden cited “a real commitment by this Administration” and “loans from the Department of Energy” that would help “America’s auto industry reclaim its top position in the global market. Of the total loan, $359 million is going to revive manufacturing at the Boxwood Plant.”

The then vice president made no mention of Hunter’s business interests, Fisker’s backing by Al Gore’s venture capital fund or that the $170 million remainder of the loan would be going to build Fisker’s ‘Karma’ cars in Finland.

“We’re not in the business of failing; we’re in the business of winning. So we make the right decision for the business,” Fisker said. “That’s why we went to Finland.”

Hunter Biden was not in the business of failing either: it just seemed to happen anyway. Armed with his father’s backing and that of local Delaware officials, he was working to transform the state’s rust belt infrastructure, like the old GM plant that Fisker was promising to take over, into green energy ventures that would cash in on the massive redistribution of taxpayer money through the $90 billion allocated for green energy companies in Obama’s ‘Recovery Act’.

Emails went back and forth between Hunter Biden, Delaware’s governor and the head of the state’s office of economic development who described a green energy project touted by Hunter as coming from the “vice president’s office”. The line between Joe Biden and his son’s business ventures, which is at the heart of the House Oversight Committee, seemed barely there.

After Fisker’s loan had been secured, Wayne Kimmel, Hunter’s childhood friend and a venture capitalist, who along with Hunter had cosponsored an inaugural breakfast to celebrate his dad’s new job, emailed Hunter to ask for an introduction to Chris Heinz, John Kerry’s stepson and a co-founder of Hunter’s Rosemont Seneca firm, to discuss Fisker.

“Its our fund that’s in the deal,” Hunter replied.

And what made the deal work was $529 million in taxpayer money. The Delaware launch, attended by Joe Biden, was ultimately going to benefit Hunter Biden’s company.

“Hunter… sincere thanks for any and all help provided concerning Fisker, particularly intro to Wayne. Also, congrats to all on the finalization of the Boxwood Plant transfer, announced on Monday,” Barry Yerger, a financial mover and shaker recently appointed by Joe Biden to the Committee for the Preservation of the White House, wrote.

While the Fisker disaster unfolded, there was no mention of the Biden role in the company.

Fisker was supposed to build “affordable” electric cars in Delaware that would cost $40,000. Instead it built the ‘Karmas’ in Finland. They cost six figures, were too heavy, the hybrid’s gas mileage was no better than some regular cars and the tires wore out in a year.

But Hunter wanted one anyway, perhaps to drive or to show off to prospective investors.

By 2012, the target date, $193 million of the loan had been spent on the ‘Karma’ and other projects, and nothing was happening in Delaware. In 2013, the only option, the local media warned was “Chinese billionaires” preparing for Fisker’s bankruptcy auction. One of those Chinese billionaires would win the auction despite his company, which promised to make the electric cars, being created a few months beforehand with no office address or phone number, after rigging the auction and “cheating taxpayers out of millions of dollars”.

A few months after a Kazakh oligarch allegedly bought Hunter a Fisker Karma, it was already breaking down. Meanwhile Joe Biden was meeting with a different set of foreign executives.

Joe Biden invited two executives from Wanxiang, a Chinese automotive company that would gobble up Fisker, to the White House. A few days later one of the executives promised to help get Hunter’s Fisker Karma fixed.

“Last Friday when we visited D.C., I heard that your Fisker is out of order and could not get serviced. Sorry,” the Chinese executive wrote. “It would be our honor to get your Fisker fixed… I would like to give you a call to see what we could do as next step.”

The Chinese executive mentioned, “It would be our great honor to welcome you to visit Fisker or Wanxiang at any time.”

Did the Chinese executive hear about Fisker and the state of Hunter’s car from him or his dad? The executive’s phrasing suggests that he had heard about it from someone other than Hunter.

The head of Delaware’s economic development office claimed that Hunter Biden had offered to “to link the governor with Chinese investors interested in acquiring the auto plant.” But nothing happened. Wanxiang never built any cars there, but instead sold it off to a private developer.

No cars would be built on the auto plant. Instead taxpayers were left not only with over $100 million in losses, but local taxpayers were also on the hook for its $400,000 power bill.

The green energy disaster was not the only one that came from Obama’s corrupt Recovery Act.

Sun Edison, a solar panel company, became the biggest green energy bankruptcy, benefiting from as much as $1.5 billion in government grants and subsidies. In an email, Devon Archer mentioned to Hunter that he was planning to meet with Sun Edison “in the next few weeks and qualify if there’s opportunity”. The Biden administration appointed Jigar Shah, Sun Edison’s founder, to head the loan office at the Department of Energy distributing green energy grants.

There is no shortage of opportunities and expenses. The story of Fisker suggests that Joe Biden’s abuse of his office to help Hunter’s economic interests may go as far back as 2009. Not long after Joe became vice president, Hunter was benefiting from the connection.

Americans lost over $100 million on Fisker, but thanks to the services of a Kazakh oligarch and some Chinese automotive executives, Hunter Biden got a $142,000 lemon.

Until he traded it in for a Porsche.

Well there’s a way to wake up a sleepy summer. Here is the front-page headline from Thursday’s New York Post:

FAMILY BUSINESS - Biden $10M bribe file released: Burisma chief said he was ‘coerced’ to pay Joe, ‘stupid’ Hunter in bombshell allegations. Ukrainian oligarch allegedly said his dog was “smarter” than Hunter Biden, but that payments needed “so everything will be okay.”

The story by Post White House reporter Steven Nelson begins this way: 

WASHINGTON — A bombshell FBI informant file containing a $10 million bribery allegation against President Biden and his son was released Thursday by Sen. Chuck Grassley, showing that a Ukrainian oligarch claimed he was “coerced” into making the payoff.

Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of natural gas company Burisma Holdings, told the FBI informant in 2016 while meeting at a coffee shop in Vienna, Austria, that “it cost 5 [million] to pay one Biden, and 5 [million] to another Biden,” according to the redacted FD-1023 form.

Well now.  There, plain as day, is a flat-out statement that “the owner of natural gas company Burisma Holdings” asserts he paid a $10 million bribe to the then–vice president and his son.  And then there was this: ...............To Read More.....

Shocking news confirming Biden’s ‘big guy’ status—and the media’s cover-up - By Andrea Widburg  July 21, 2023 - Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) released a shocking document: It’s an FBI report from a Confidential Human Source (“CHS”) revealing that the FBI and, by extension, the DOJ have known since at least June 2020 that a Burisma executive asserted that Hunter and Joe Biden were receiving millions of dollars for Joe to act on behalf of Burisma—and that Joe Biden was doing this while he was still Vice President. What Other Charges Could Hunter Face?  Heartlanders survived another week with the nuttiest administration they believe this nation has ever had. They chewed the fat on Hunter’s sweetheart deal and another drag-queen debacle involving children, and they marveled at the rise of RFK, Jr., which is surprising to no one whatsoever after two-plus years of the Biden Bunch. Oh, and the president forgot he wasn’t an Indian.

Hunter Biden Is Exhausting

First kids do tend to go off the rails under the public spotlight. Amy Carter was arrested four times for protesting Apartheid and CIA college campus recruitment. Quentin Roosevelt and his buddies, including Vice President Taft’s son and the children of other notables, carved a baseball diamond on the lawn, shot spitwads at the portrait of Andrew Jackson, and roller skated the halls of the White House with snakes around his arms. Roosevelt once relayed to the Grey Lady that his son rolled into a meeting with Attorney General Bonaparte, who “hurriedly ascended the back of his chair.” Ah, just Hijinx, don’t you know.

Hunter Biden is chronologically a full-grown adult at age 53, but his brain seems to live in the early 1980s. His audacious behavior has long been a disgusting talking point for the good folks in flyover states. Still, the criminal aspect of his dealings, coming to light only for the man to get a scolding and a slap on the wrist, wasn’t handled the way Heartlanders would have hoped.

Janet Orr of West Salem, OH, advised: “We all know how the LAWLESS Leftist’s game is played by now!”  And Dan Pritchett of Dallas nearly spat this comment: “Sick. Deviate. Just like his old man.” In Belvidere, IL, Michelle Daniel elaborated: “Porn, sex with minors, money laundering, not paying taxes on millionaires, lying on a gun app, using crack and hookers … no crimes here. Move along.”

As Liberty Nation reports, “Hunter Biden had reached a plea deal related to tax evasion and an illegal handgun charge.” Indeed, just move along, America.

Time to Push Back

Well, this is no surprise, given the current social climate. According to first responders in Boston, they were called for a medical emergency – a cardiac arrest – and someone was in dire need of medical attention. The address was the Mary Ellen McCormack Housing complex, run by the city.

“The apartment was in extremely unsanitary conditions. Approximately six adults, who appeared to be males, were seen in the apartment,” the incident report read. Not all that problematic – until we get to the “four children in the back bedroom being hidden by an adult male from first responders.”

What on God’s green earth? “All adults present denied having children inside the apartment,” the report expounded. The men, dressed like women, were said to be “uncooperative.”

At-Large City Councilor Michael Flaherty passed his intel to reporters: “I was informed by people at the scene that there were drugs, alcohol, sex toys all around the apartment as well as a dead body on the floor.” And there were four kids; don’t forget the kids.

Las Vegas was paying attention. “It’s ok everybody because it was a family-friendly Drag Drug Party,” James Ramirez reminded us, while Patricia Patterson in Helena, MT, said: “And now we know why democrats are so enthralled with drag queens.”

The RFK Effect

The Economist and YouGov released a poll last week with a pronouncement that sent shivers down a few hardcore right and left-leaning voters: “RFK Jr has higher favorability numbers than either President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump.” Biden and Trump registered negative numbers on the scale, -9 for the president and -10 for number 45.

Kennedy has a few friends in high places: Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, Social Capital founder Chamath Palihapitiya, and venture capitalist David Sacks, to name a few. It’s rumored Elon Musk likes the guy as well. And the common man? Yeah, he’s well-liked on both sides of the political chasm by folks who want a centrist in the race. Richard Saxton, in Gillette, WY, is one of those Heartlanders. “Count me as a Republican supporting RFK Jr.,” Saxton said. “He won’t get support from the DNC; it has to be from everyday people that don’t like what is happening now.”

Then there’s this guy in the Rocky Mountains, Bill Lentz, who resonated with, well, lots of folks:

“People, please stop all this Democrat and Republican fighting. We have a senile, lifelong politician who should be home playing with his grandkids. We certainly don’t need Trump again, with all the hate and division he brings to the table. People, we have to pull together and get RFK Jr. elected. Who gives a darn what party you belong to?”

And then Lentz drove his point home: “We are Americans, not Democrats or Republicans. We’ve got to stop all this hate, or we will all lose. A country divided cannot stand. Please, people.”

Uh, Joe?

Everyone saw it: Another awkward moment in the presidency of Joe Biden. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi came for a visit on Thursday, and during the ceremonial playing of the Indian national anthem, Joe placed his hand on his heart. It took several excruciating seconds of confusion as the president had a lightbulb moment and ever-so-slowly eased his hand down along his torso in a near caress. Joe forgot he’s not an Indian. In Medina, OH, Timothy Reese said it best: “God Save the Queen.”

Daddy Issues: Biden DOJ Passes on Holding Hunter Accountable

It was an offer he couldn’t refuse.

While it’s good to be the king, it may be better to be a favored prince. When asked about the potential criminal activity of his son Hunter, President Joseph R. Biden Jr. told MSNBC, “First of all, my son has done nothing wrong.” That sentiment is just about the official position of the Department of Justice, too. The agency agreed to let Hunter Biden off on some misdemeanor charges for tax evasion and lying on a federal firearms background check. The DOJ did not announce the decision but instead revealed it in a filing in federal court asking for a hearing to approve the plea.

An Offer He Couldn’t Refuse

Hunter Biden will plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges of “willful failure to pay federal income tax” (for 2017 and 2018) and one count of “possession of a firearm by a person who is an unlawful user of or addicted to a controlled substance.” So says a letter sent by U.S. Attorney for Delaware David C. Weiss to the District Court. Dispensing the gun charge, Weiss wrote that it will vanish via a Pretrial Diversion Agreement – that means no time to be served and, later on, if Hunter doesn’t re-offend, no record. As for the tax charges, Weiss’ letter discusses no punishment, but leaks to legacy media outlets by the DOJ say Hunter will not have to serve a single day in custody.

Weiss is a 2018 Trump appointee to his office, where he had worked since 2007 as a top deputy and acting head. These charges result from a five-year-long investigation first publicly revealed by Hunter Biden in December 2020. They have nothing to do with his widely publicized abandoned laptop or its data. Reports state the DOJ undertook this investigation before Bill Barr was nominated to be attorney general in 2018. Hunter Biden is expected to attend a hearing to enter his plea and be sentenced to probation and a lifetime ban on firearms ownership.

Prince Hunter

The charges against Biden came just one week after his father and Attorney General Merrick Garland arraigned Donald Trump on federal criminal charges. The decision to charge or not, as well as for what crimes and what levels (felonies vs. misdemeanors), is political. There was, however, no explanation from Weiss, Garland, or President Biden for why the DOJ charged Hunter Biden with misdemeanors instead of felonies and why he would not serve a custodial sentence. When news of the plea broke, the main DOJ Twitter account displayed a video profiling an employee who is a member of the “LGBTQI+ community.” Weiss’ office account showed a Juneteenth celebration announcement and a statement on National Gun Violence Awareness Month in a moment of tragicomic irony given Biden’s case.

President Biden’s lawyers piled charges on Donald Trump as deep and high as possible a week ago. Using their prosecutorial discretion, they told the court Trump’s mishandling of classified documents warrants throwing him into a cage for the rest of his life. Hunter’s immediate legal troubles may well be on the verge of conclusion, but the fallout goes well beyond one man and his own travails; ultimately, the blowback will go all the way to the top.

Taliban and Iran Start Killing Each Other- "We will conquer Iran within 24 hours.”  There’s an upside to leading from behind.When Obama retreated from Iraq, ISIS emerged and ushered in a wave of brutal warfare against Iranian proxies and fellow Sunni Islamists capping off the Arab Spring and the New Middle East with a bang.Biden’s retreat from Afghanistan hasn’t been that spectacular yet, but give it a little time.  Iran and the Taliban, after initially being good friends and swapping abandoned American military equipment back and forth, are killing each other over who gets first dibs on the local water rights.  So far, two Iranian border guards and one Taliban terrorist are dead. The death toll on both sides would be higher, but, like most Islamic armies, neither side is much good at anything except run-and-gun raids. And empty boasts..............But Iran does have an ace in the hole which is Al Qaeda. So expect Iran to try to use Al Qaeda against the Taliban. Can the terrorists be terrorized? Expect some more Shiite mosques in Afghanistan to get bombed as the various elements of the Religion of Peace worship Allah by killing each other...................

The U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism fails to address Muslim and leftist antisemitism, it briefly delves into, but does not address where campus antisemitism is coming from, has a single throwaway line about the attacks on Orthodox Jews in New York City, and gives the IHRA pro-Israel definition of antisemitism nearly equal billing with the Nexus anti-Israel one. The strategy claims that “there are several definitions of antisemitism, which serve as valuable tools to raise awareness and increase understanding of antisemitism”, including the IHRA, but noting that the Biden administration “welcomes and appreciates the Nexus Document and notes other such efforts..................

Supreme Court Takes Away EPA’s Power Over Backyard Puddles  - Sorry, puddle police.  The story of the Clean Waters Act is a perfect example of the administrative state seizing total power that it was never intended to have.The old 70’s legislation protected “navigable waters” also known as “waters of the United States”.  The EPA’s bureaucrats and eco-leftists decided to take the latter definition to mean all the water.  Literally.Got a puddle in your backyard?  The EPA has authority over it.  Or had authority.  The Supreme Court ruled that “waters refers only to “geographic[al] features that are described in ordinary parlance as ‘streams, oceans, rivers, and lakes’ ” and to adjacent wetlands that are “indistinguishable” from those bodies of water due to a continuous surface connection.”.........
