The George Floyd Effect: A Legacy of Economic Disaster

Retailers fighting back to regain police support in a troubled neighborhood.

By Dec 8, 2023 @ Liberty Nation News

Following the death of George Floyd in 2020, which sparked nationwide protests, city mayors took action by cutting police budgets and changing how officers handle crime. In the last few years, recent FBI data show the United States has witnessed an uptick in crime, particularly in the area of property crime, like motor vehicle theft and burglary. The reasons for the jump vary, but an essential component has been the social justice crusade on the part of officials, from the paucity of urban policing to elected progressives altering the law. Minneapolis businesses are getting fed up and taking the city to court.

The George Floyd Effect

In November, several stores in the vicinity of Floyd’s death, including a convenience store, a tobacco shop, and an investment firm, filed a lawsuit in state court and accused Minneapolis of not policing the area since the incident. Companies also asserted that the city blocked the George Floyd intersection with concrete barriers that have prevented customers from entering. The legal filing, which named Mayor Jacob Frey and other officials, purported that the combination transformed the area into a significant core for violent crime.

The lawsuit claims that police only answer serious calls and mostly avoid the area, with the claimants referring to the place as a “No Go Zone.” According to the court case documents:

“The mayor, the city, the city council, and the Minneapolis Police Department collectively agreed to severely limit police response in the barricaded area surrounding plaintiffs’ businesses. Criminals know the area lacks police protection, and they have now made the area so dangerous that it has become known as the ‘No Go Zone.'”

The enterprises are requesting approximately $1.5 million in damages. However, the city contends that it has offered a broad array of support tools for businesses, such as $1.5 million in forgivable loans for impacted companies in the George Floyd Square area. A spokesperson for Frey told the Associated Press that Minneapolis did “everything possible to open the street safely amid very tenuous circumstances,” adding that the city coordinated efforts so that “no one was hurt and the area remained safe for residents.”

Reading the Data

A new report by the Council on Criminal Justice found that shoplifting rates have fallen in Minneapolis and St. Paul, showing the Twin Cities had the second- and third-highest declines. At the same time, there was a decrease in retail theft from 2020 to 2021, a jump throughout 2022, and then another drop in 2023. By comparison, New York and Los Angeles led the way in percentage changes in shoplifting from January 2019 to June 2023, soaring 64% and 61%, respectively.

But before everyone celebrates, the organization noted that “because these data rely on reported incidents, they almost certainly undercount total shoplifting.” Moreover, the retail sector is ostensibly not confident about the statistics. The National Retail Federation appeared on Capitol Hill in October for Fight Retail Crime Day, supporting “legislative solutions to address organized crime.” The trade group has cautioned about “shrink,” a trend highlighting inventory losses driven by theft, operational errors, and systemic mistakes. In 2022, the entity’s annual retail security survey found that the shrink rate climbed to 1.6% of sales, or $112.1 billion, up from 1.4%, or $93.9 billion, in 2021.

In September, Target Corp. blamed worsening theft for its endeavor to shut down nine stores in four states. Target CEO Brian Cornell told analysts this past summer that worker safety was being threatened. “Our team continues to face an unacceptable amount of retail theft and organized retail crime,” Cornell said. “Unfortunately, safety incidents associated with theft are moving in the wrong direction.”

Soap Behind Lock and Key

The data can only explain so much.

Across the social media landscape are videos of stores nationwide with a wide range of products behind lock and key, from deodorant to baby formula. Other media feature masked individuals stuffing bags with as many items as possible and exiting the building. Andre Persaud, Rite Aid’s chief retail officer, offered a glimpse of the future in a conference call with investors in December 2022: Transform brick-and-mortar locations into large vending machines and insert all merchandise behind plexiglass. Is this the future? Perhaps. However, substantial retail theft could push more vendors to the digital ecosystem, further hindering inner cities.

The George Floyd Effect seemingly has many layers.

Fact check: George Floyd wasn’t murdered

October 29, 2023 By Eric Utter

George Floyd is a martyr.  At least he is to vast numbers of inner-city youth — and many in the media and intelligentsia.  That is unfortunate for several reasons.

After his death in Minneapolis, riots shook the nation, causing billions of dollars in damages and countless injuries and even deaths.  Cities burned.  Stores — many owned and run by minorities — were looted and destroyed. Craven progressive politicians called for defunding the police, cashless bail, and a reduction in penalties for shoplifting, among other pro-criminal measures.  Floyd, a lifelong violent criminal who spent five stints in prison, became a saint even as law enforcement was demonized.  More than 2,000 officers were injured during the seemingly never-ending riots.  The mark left on many major cities, both physical and emotional, was enormous...and possibly permanent.  The mark left on America is possibly even worse..............To Read More....

My Take - So much has come out that shows there's no justification for Chauvin to be in prison, and I knew that from the beginning, which I outlined in my article of May 1, 2021, Appeasing a Racist Mob Isn't Justice: Chauvin Verdict is A Travesty of Justice. I also published this piece,   The George Floyd Saga and The George Floyd Effect, and this piece, Chauvin, Maxine, and the Consequences showing this was never anything but a race hustling scam.

Daniel Greenfield Unleashed

While Biden Embraces China, China Hacks America - If that’s not treason, what is?   The Biden administration tried to hide China’s balloon espionage and then put on a fake show of outrage when it was exposed by a viral video.“How will you manage the diplomatic relationship with China?” a reporter asked in the early morning briefing.  “Well, number one, you’re right. We should have an open line [of communications]. With the Bali conference that’s what President Xi and I agreed that we were going to do and meet on,” Biden responded. “And then this silly balloon that was carrying two free cars worth of spy equipment was flying over the United States, and it got shut down and changed in terms of talking to one another.”  “I think you’re going to see that again though very shortly,” he added.  The open line runs strictly one way. It involves China spying on us................

States Shut Down UN-Insurance Corp Plot to Kill Oil and Gas - Can states make a difference? They absolutely can.  Can states make a difference? They absolutely can. And in the battle against woke corporate tyranny, they’re vital. And they’re winning.  European insurers are pulling out of the UN-convened Net-Zero Insurance Alliance over concerns that red states’ antitrust allegations could hurt their businesses. Bloomberg reported Wednesday that the group was holding a meeting to discuss recent departures, a week after 23 Republican attorneys general sent letters to members of the group raising antitrust concerns. Thus far ten major insurance firms have pulled out of the UN conspiracy to kill the oil and gas industries, along with any hope of affordable energy................

Incompetent But Diverse VP Says Military’s Strength Lies in Diversity “Our military is strongest when it fully reflects the people of America”  VP Kamala Harris, whose entire incompetent career has been based on two factors, being the ex-girlfriend of Willie Brown, and her diversity, has a message for West Point cadets. Vice President Kamala Harris on Saturday became the first woman to address a graduating class at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and used the opportunity to extol the diversity of the American armed forces.   Well, what else was she going to do? Offer serious geopolitical analysis? Promise that we will start winning wars again? Or repeat once more the tiresome liberal catechism of diversity that has since evolved into a totalitarian and dystopian nightmare...............

Taliban and Iran Start Killing Each Other- "We will conquer Iran within 24 hours.”  There’s an upside to leading from behind. When Obama retreated from Iraq, ISIS emerged and ushered in a wave of brutal warfare against Iranian proxies and fellow Sunni Islamists capping off the Arab Spring and the New Middle East with a bang.Biden’s retreat from Afghanistan hasn’t been that spectacular yet, but give it a little time.  Iran and the Taliban, after initially being good friends and swapping abandoned American military equipment back and forth, are killing each other over who gets first dibs on the local water rights.  So far, two Iranian border guards and one Taliban terrorist are dead. The death toll on both sides would be higher, but, like most Islamic armies, neither side is much good at anything except run-and-gun raids. And empty boasts..............But Iran does have an ace in the hole which is Al Qaeda. So expect Iran to try to use Al Qaeda against the Taliban. Can the terrorists be terrorized? Expect some more Shiite mosques in Afghanistan to get bombed as the various elements of the Religion of Peace worship Allah by killing each other...................

DHS: First You Watch FOX News, Then PragerU, Then You Become a Nazi - This is about criminalizing political dissent. Disinformation and counter-extremism programs have become little more than tools for suppressing the political opposition. With DHS handing out grants to study extremism, the Media Research Center has information on what may be the single most explicit attempt at using counter-extremism funding to go after the opposition................

Biden’s Antisemitism Strategy Fails to Condemn BDS, Includes CAIR -This is the Biden administration’s betrayal of Jews in a nutshell.  There were many expectations for Biden’s U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism among the usual organizational types, but anyone with common sense could have seen this coming a mile away. The U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism fails to address Muslim and leftist antisemitism, it briefly delves into, but does not address where campus antisemitism is coming from, has a single throwaway line about the attacks on Orthodox Jews in New York City, and gives the IHRA pro-Israel definition of antisemitism nearly equal billing with the Nexus anti-Israel one. The strategy claims that “there are several definitions of antisemitism, which serve as valuable tools to raise awareness and increase understanding of antisemitism”, including the IHRA, but noting that the Biden administration “welcomes and appreciates the Nexus Document and notes other such efforts..................

Biden Admin Anti-Semitism Letter to Colleges Makes No Mention of Israel -  Antisemitism on college campuses is at an all-time high.  In ‘Biden’s Strategy to Fight Anti-Semitism Enables Hatred of Jews and Israel’, I take apart the hype over the antisemitism strategy and what it really means. What it means is that the Biden administration allowed the Left to call half the shots in framing the strategy. And the end result is a complete irrelevance. While the various machers are celebrating, you can find the real bottom line in the Dear Colleague letter generated by the Department of Education............

Supreme Court Takes Away EPA’s Power Over Backyard Puddles  - Sorry, puddle police.  The story of the Clean Waters Act is a perfect example of the administrative state seizing total power that it was never intended to have. The old 70’s legislation protected “navigable waters” also known as “waters of the United States”.  The EPA’s bureaucrats and eco-leftists decided to take the latter definition to mean all the water.  Literally.Got a puddle in your backyard?  The EPA has authority over it.  Or had authority.  The Supreme Court ruled that “waters refers only to “geographic[al] features that are described in ordinary parlance as ‘streams, oceans, rivers, and lakes’ ” and to adjacent wetlands that are “indistinguishable” from those bodies of water due to a continuous surface connection.”.........

CBS Shows IRS Whistleblower Exposing Hunter Biden Investigation Abuses - “I immediately saw deviations from the normal process.” Sometimes the medium is as important as the message. This is on CBS News and it’s being reported by Jim Axelrod, the Chief Investigative Correspondent for CBS News. Back in April, Axelrod and CBS had broadcast an interview with the whistleblower’s lawyer. It’s not just the lawyer now. “There were multiple steps that were slow-walked — were just completely not done — at the direction of the Department of Justice,” said Gary Shapley, a 14-year veteran of the agency, who spoke exclusively to CBS News chief investigative correspondent Jim Axelrod on Tuesday. “When I took control of this particular investigation, I immediately saw deviations from the normal process. It was way outside the norm of what I’ve experienced in the past.” Shapley is not just holding down a desk, he’s a high-level figure..............

Area Looted by George Floyd Supporters Remembers His Legacy - George Floyd, who robbed a woman at gunpoint and died of a drug overdose while being restrained by police, is being “remembered” in the place that his supporters looted in the days following his accidental death. The Minneapolis community came together Saturday to remember George Floyd’s life and legacy. The ‘Rise and Remember’ festival attracted hundreds of people to George Floyd Square. “I like the way the community is together,” said Orlando Matthews, visiting from New Orleans with his son. “You see people from all sorts of places.” People from all over the country are here to visit the memorial, including Matthews. George Floyd Square has attracted a lot of people from all over the country. Generally, they came to steal things. But after being trashed, the businesses are just trying to cash in on George Floyd enthusiasts who aren’t burning things............Until a new round of looting and burning properly honors George Floyd’s legacy by setting them on fire.

No Biggie, Just the End of Civilization

Ann Coulter  |  May 10, 2023

Whatever you had planned to do for the rest of the day, please drop it and read this right now: Heather Mac Donald's new book, "When Race Trumps Merit: How the Pursuit of Equity Sacrifices Excellence, Destroys Beauty, and Threatens Lives.  It seems that in the hysteria that followed George Floyd's death in 2020, we agreed to destroy all of Western civilization -- law, music, art, education, policing, science and medicine -- to make up for black people not doing well on standardized tests. Mac Donald cites not hundreds but thousands of institutions that have flung aside standards in order to more fully dedicate themselves to the sole, driving purpose of our nation: boosting black people's self-esteem. To consider just one arena, I don't think you're going to like the medical care you'll be getting under the new regime. Just like in the wildly successful Soviet Union, science must be subordinated to politics, specifically "racial justice." The American Medical Association, the American Association of Medical Colleges and the American Association of Pediatrics (AAP) have all agreed that medicine is racist............To Read More...

The George Floyd Saga and The George Floyd Effect

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDdJXy3OAHLJn_MpiNbbpiEfmKMk5o52EaM_ErYTz_AQiD3zo-sQWOUuwWSVBiV4IJ3FlQV6T-I03A9NYvk-Cw_z_XUAGBaqiTjOITYXOGIJAACqAjGX9XDktXKqx-gc3w6FR9l1Ki6Us/w49-h64/My+Picture+2.jpg By Rich Kozlovich

On June 4, 2021 Jared Taylor published the article,  George Floyd One Year Later with an accompanying video saying:

We are witnessing mass delusion of historic proportions. The death of George Floyd has given rise to one of the worst mass delusions in American history – maybe world history. Here are his arrests, going back to 1997. His first was at age 23, and during the next 10 years he was in and out of the big house *eight* times, mostly for larceny and drugs.

In 2007, age 34, he moved up to armed robbery home invasion. He threatened a woman by pushing a pistol into her belly. Floyd got five years in prison, didn’t serve even four, and got out in 2013. He managed to stay out of prison, but he was cited in 2020 for getting into an accident driving a truck without a valid license. He was a drug addict and a small-time porn actor........Floyd never married but had five known children, ranging in age from six to 22 at the time of his death.

Floyd’s final crimes were taking illegal drugs, passing counterfeit money, and resisting arrest. He struggled persistently with police officers and flopped down on the street rather than get into a cop car.....Even more absurd – and this is at the heart of the mass insanity – is the idea that this was a vicious act of racism.

At this point Floyd, and thug, a criminal and a all round lousy citizen has become deified by blacks and leftist disgustingly using race as an issue.  George Floyd had ‘violent criminal history".

700 Pound Bronze George Floyd Statue Unveiled at Newark City Hall in Time for Juneteenth Celebrations

Where Floyd died is now called George Floyd Square, where police aren't allowed and whites have to grovel when they go there.

As of last week the "Official George Floyd Memorial Fund" on the GoFundMe site surpassed $13 million and broke the record for the highest number of individual donations on the crowdfunding site", with more than 500,000 donations from 145 countries.  Murals of him have appeared in cities all over the world, and scholarships have been set up in universities all over the nation, and President Biden and Vice President Harris have also grovelled to this false narrative.

Here's the real impact of this fraud being perpetrated on America, Leo Terrell: Blame ‘The George Floyd Effect’ for Shoplifting Spree in San Francisco, by Craig Bannister saying:

Store owners “cannot win in California, because criminals are allowed to commit crimes and prosecutors are looking the other way” due to “The George Floyd Effect,” former Civil Rights Attorney Leo Terrell said Thursday. In an interview with Fox News, Terrell discussed the shoplifting sprees plaguing San Francisco businesses – including a viral video of a thief at a Walgreens filling a trash bag with merchandise and leaving while a security guard stood by and watched..........

Terrell went on to say:

One reason store owners in California can’t win,.....if items are out in the open on shelves, they’re easy to steal – but, if they’re behind a display window, the business is accused of being racist:

And this pattern of vilifying police and ennobling thugs is continuing.  Winston Smith engaged police, who were attempting to arrest him on an outstanding warrant, in a gun battle and loses, and now protesters are attempting to make him an icon and create a "zone" of some kind in his honor.

All these thugs and criminals who are resisting arrest and attacking the police, and are getting themselves killed in the process, are being extolled as the heroes black children should be looking up to as examples.   Couple that with the propaganda of Critical Race Theory and we have a disaster of major proportions in the making.

The nation's cities are falling into a pit of black racism that's proving to be a disaster for the nation, but what I just don't understand is why blacks, who are suffering far more by all the actions of Antifa, BLM and the Race Industrial Complex, and the thugs they're promoting than are whites, are supporting it!

Daniel Greenfield has run an eight part series on racist mayors, black and white, who've embraced this BLM Marxist mentality, and the consequences to the black community is absolutely dire. Part eight deals with the racist mayor of  Jackson, Mississippi, Chokwe Antar Lumumba, who intends to turn Jackson into the "most radical city in America".  I guess being unable to provide safe drinking water is part of that plan, and the black community still wants him as their mayor.  His answer?  In spite of the fact Jackson has been under black Democrat control for 25 years, it's the fault racism, not his incompetence or the insanity of the Democrat party.

All the progress for equality made from 1964 was erased when Obama became President.  He and his radical Marxist myrmidons, are leading the nation into a level of racial tension and instability that I fear will eventually lead into a very real national race war.

Bombshell Claim: Medical Examiners Bullied Over Floyd’s Cause of Death

Minneapolis police officer’s defense alleges that medical witnesses were subjected to coercion and retaliation.

by May 17, 2021

Last week, counsel for Tou Thao, one of the former Minneapolis police officers charged in the death of George Floyd, filed an explosive motion for sanctions against the prosecution that alleges, among other things, that the testimony of Hennepin County Medical Examiner Andrew Baker in the trial of Derek Chauvin “was directly and indirectly coerced by the State and its agents” and that the former chief medical examiner for the State of Maryland, who testified for the Chauvin defense that Floyd’s death was due to cardiac arrhythmia, has been subjected to threats against his medical license.

The motion avers, in part, the following:

On May 26, 2020, Dr. Baker, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, conducted an autopsy of Mr. Floyd. On that same date, Dr. Baker advised “prosecuting attorneys” that “[t]he autopsy revealed no physical evidence suggesting that Mr. Floyd died of asphyxiation. Mr. Floyd did not exhibit signs of petechiae, damage to his airways or thyroid, brain bleeding, bone injuries, or internal bruising.”

In woke America, due process of law and the right to defend oneself in a court of law must not stand in the way of achieving social justice.

On May 29, 2020, the criminal complaint against Derek Chauvin stated that the full report of the medical examiner was pending, but that the preliminary findings “revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation.”

Prior to June 1, 2020, Dr. Roger Mitchell, former medical examiner for Washington, D.C., called Dr. Baker to discuss these preliminary findings. Citing an “Exhibit 1” (not accessible on the court’s website), paragraphs 5 and 6 of the motion state the following:...............According to the motion, following these conversations, Dr. Baker issued a press release in which the “final autopsy findings included neck compression,” which was “contrary to Dr. Baker’s conclusion before speaking with Dr. Mitchell twice.”...........To Read More....

Appeasing a Racist Mob Isn't Justice: Chauvin Verdict is A Travesty of Justice

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDdJXy3OAHLJn_MpiNbbpiEfmKMk5o52EaM_ErYTz_AQiD3zo-sQWOUuwWSVBiV4IJ3FlQV6T-I03A9NYvk-Cw_z_XUAGBaqiTjOITYXOGIJAACqAjGX9XDktXKqx-gc3w6FR9l1Ki6Us/w49-h64/My+Picture+2.jpg By Rich Kozlovich

First, to prove murder you have to show means, motive and intent.   Although motive isn't an absolute requirement prosecutors show motive to show intent.  Intent defines the difference between a deliberate action or an accident.  As for means, we'll come to that.  Then there's "mens rea", which is Latin meaning "guilty mind".  'To be convicted of a crime, the law requires the defendant to be deserving of punishment based on culpability or blameworthiness."  Did Derek Chauvin have a "guilty mind"?

We have six questions that need to be asked and answered.  Here's my two part Q&A that needs addressing:
  1. Was there malice of forethought in Officer Chauvin's actions?
  2. Did he intend to do harm to George Floyd?
  3. Did he know his actions would cause Floyd to die?
  4. Did he demonstrate reckless disregard?
  5. Did Officer Chauvin have a guilty mind?
Answers:
  1. There was no malice, including any malice based on systemic racism.
  2. There was no evidence of a "guilty mind".
  3. He didn't go there to deliberately harm Floyd, and there was no reason to believe Floyd would die from Chauvin's actions.
  4. Did he show reckless disregard?  Reckless disregard is defined as being "grossly negligent without concern for danger to others", which given the circumstances, the answer must also be no.
And we'll come back to that.

This bring us to part two:
  1. Was there "actus reas" by Floyd?  In other words did Floyd just merely want to commit the crime, or did he actually did commit a crime that officers, including Chauvin, had to respond to? That's the core of the issue.  And the answer?
George Floyd did commit a crime, and it was a crime he clearly intended to commit.  And the police did come in response to a call to his criminal act, and thusly, had to respond to that criminal action by Floyd.  And then when confronted for his criminal activity, he fought with the police, so there was no criminal intent or motive by the police, and holding him down isn't "means"!  Chauvin's actions didn't cut off his air supply, and the man was found to have serious levels of illegal drugs in his body, and at a level many considered toxic.

Entirely too many have lost perspective on this issue.

This all came about because of this thug was attempting to pass a counterfeit $20.00 bill.  The police came as a response to that because...... and here it comes, watch out now, watch out now, here it comes...... passing counterfeit currency is a crime.  Really, it really is a crime.  Not only is it a crime, it's a federal crime.  The actions thereafter, even if some procedure wasn't followed, does not constitute murder.

As for the guy's complaining how he can't breathe, which may have been true, but do we really believe the cops don't hear that kind of thing all the time?  Chauvin was the last to appear at the scene and the man was already complaining about not being able to breathe before he got there.

What if that's nothing but a ploy to continue to resist the cops, and potentially represent a hazard to the lives of the police.  It isn't like they don't hear this kind of stuff all the time, and remember, his alleged inability to breath didn't keep him from resisting the police in the first place.  So then, why would they believe him?  But they still apparently called the EMT's.  So, they clearly they were not guilty of reckless disregard or even depraved indifference.  They demonstrated good cop concern.

Let's take a look at this case as an example of what police go through on a regular basis:

In Atlanta, a man named Rayshard Brooks is passed out in the drive-thru of a Wendy's. It took some time for the police to get him to wake up and move his car. They interacted with Brooks for about an hour before getting him situated so they could get him in the back of a police car.

When the police attempted that, Brooks became violent and fought the police. He shoved one to the ground so hard that he caused a concussion. He grabbed one of the officer's Tasers and bolted. The second officer gave chase, and Brooks attempted to turn and fire the Taser. The officer responded with deadly force.

And the public response from local political "leaders"?

Local politicians immediately painted the officer as the bad guy. Of course, had Brooks successfully incapacitated the officer, perhaps he could have gotten the officer's gun. Judging the officer in the split second and making him the bad guy to placate the mob is not really justice. It just feels like justice as some have internalized the narrative that the police are racist.

Cops are in a no win situation because these leftist anti-American politicians have been giving tacit permission to resist arrest, ignore police instructions, and in point of fact, to fight the police, even killing them.  All without a peep of outrage from these race pandering politicians.

Cops have to evaluate every situation, and in this case the situation Chauvin was put in made him face a hostile crowd while holding down a criminal who was drug impacted and resisted arrest.  Would he have reacted violently if let up?  Who wants to find out?  That alone justified holding him down, specifically since videos showed other officers had to hold back the hostile crowd who were shouting obscenities at them and rushing at them.

And in face of that are they suppose to do a "check list" to make sure they did everything by the book?  Even the EMT's fled afraid to do their job, even inside the ambulance, and I don't blame them.  They have no desire to end up dead leaving their families with the consequences of their loss for the benefit of a thug and a mob of thugs.   And their loss is the kind of loss that diminishes society, unlike the loss of  George Floyd who was a drug addict, a criminal and a thug, and if he had lived, he'd have continued to be a parasite on society.

And this pattern of mob violence in support of thugs and criminals like George Floyd, by blacks, against police is an unending pattern, forcing police to act accordingly.  When you fight with the police someone is going to get hurt, and why should it be the cops?

Chauvin is not guilty of murder on any count, and has become nothing more than a sacrificial lamb on the alter of Political Correctness and Critical Race Theory, all scams, all cons, and a slow suicide for America.

When this very thing, and worse, was done to a white guy, that cop wasn't prosecuted and no one rioted.  Imagine that!  As for the media, they said little to nothing about it, and apparently the political sewer trout must not have even known about it since they were silent.  Right?  Well, my guess is they didn't care since a cop killing a white has no traction with leftist rabble rousers and a corrupt media.

We need to get our heads on straight about what this really is all about.

There was no crime by the cops, there was  no motive, there was no intent, there was no means, and holding down a thug resisting arrest in the face of a violent threatening mob isn't means.

Candace Owens said it best after this verdict was read: "we have a pandemic of cowardice going on in this country".

One of my all time favorite books is To Kill a Mocking Bird, which was an absolutely anti-racist book if there ever was one, and now some from the Church of Wokeness crowd want to ban it.  Which is ironic because different racists wanted to ban it when it came out.

But for those who've read and loved that book,  (The movie was great, the book was greater) there's a question that needs asked and answered.

Black business owners at George Floyd Square pleading for help as crime spikes and revenue plummets

Our Group's Take - No surprise here.  Over and over again we see that the supposed efforts by the left to "help" minorities, in fact very very predictably makes things far worse for them.  But so long as most of them keep voting for Democrats, the left just doesn't care or actually likes it, because poor angry people make for more voter turnout for the left.

Undermining Justice

Progressive politicians’ anti-police statements will hurt most the very groups they claim to defend.

Hannah E. Meyers April 16, 2021

On Sunday, 20-year-old Daunte Wright was killed in a Minneapolis suburb. Following a traffic stop for expired registration, officer Kim Potter shot Wright, apparently intending to tase him, as he fled arrest for an open warrant. (Wright and another man had been charged with first-degree attempted aggravated robbery in December 2019.) Potter has since resigned and been charged with second-degree manslaughter. Coming during the trial of officer Derek Chauvin for the killing of George Floyd, Wright’s death threw fuel on a simmering fire: about 80 people were arrested in the area on Tuesday night for throwing bricks and bottles and inciting riots.

Meantime, progressive politicians have issued nonsensical statements that will further harm the communities now ablaze. Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), for instance, tweeted on Monday: “Policing in our country is inherently & intentionally racist. Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence. I am done with those who condone government-funded murder. No more policing, incarceration, and militarization. It can’t be reformed.” Such rhetoric provokes the mobs currently destroying infrastructure and businesses, but the damage goes beyond property. As riots rage, cops grow more discouraged—and less willing to take the risks inherent in proactive policing. The resulting de-policing creates lawlessness that invites further violence and criminality, as experience and a growing body of research confirm.........To Read More.....

My Take - The author makes some excellent observations until he gets to the last paragraph saying:

"Law enforcement should continue on its trajectory of increased accountability and community partnership. Better policing, not less policing, will mean fewer black men dying in police confrontations—and in the violence that too often follows them."

What will cause less black men to die from police shootings is for less black criminal activity, which is way out of proportion per population, and that will start to happen when black culture changes.

When the 70% illegitimacy rate in black America drops dramatically we'll see changes that have nothing to do with police reform.  But that's not going to happen as long as we keep making excuses for inappropriate black cultural behavior with this insane effort to promote Critical Race Theory in public and the federal government paying black women to have babies out of wedlock, often times by multiple men who absent themselves as soon as they can, and impregnate other women who, along with their children, they abandon.

Until then, all the police reform in the world will not stop these killings because the police rarely kill innocent people.  They're shooting and killing thugs and criminals who fight with the police, and they fight with the police because they know they're criminals who deserve to be arrested.

Cannon Hinnant, George Floyd, and Losing the War on Drugs

-

The body of a junkie ex-con who had robbed a pregnant woman at gunpoint was placed in a golden coffin on a horse-drawn hearse while a nation whose cities were burning watched.

Cannon Hinnant was laid to rest quietly in a small funeral home across the street from a gas station. The mourners, some driving pickup trucks, parked out front and made their way through the puddles to hear his youth pastor eulogize the 5-year-old boy who had been shot in the head.

The deaths of George Floyd,a 46-year-old Minneapolis black ex-con strung out on drugs, and Cannon Hinnant, a 5-year-old white boy from a small city in North Carolina, are both symbols.

Floyd’s death during a struggle with police led to nationwide race riots, the destruction of statues and stores, hundreds of millions in damage, severe injuries and deaths, and a political inquisition. Hinnant’s death has been ignored outside the local and conservative media.

The out-of-context video of Floyd dying of cardiac arrest while high on Fentanyl became evidence of police racism, not just by the white officer restraining him, but across the country. And Cannon Hinnant’s murder at the hands of a black felon while riding his bike on a grassy winding street became evidence of a racist double standard and out of control crime.

The truth is that Floyd and Hinnant’s deaths were symptoms of the same crisis.

After Floyd’s death, it became fashionable to speak of crime and policing as inventions of white supremacists and symptoms of white fragility. Cannon’s small head proved fragile when he was shot, but Hinnant’s father regularly invited Darius Sessoms, his killer, for meals or a beer.

Sessoms had been in and out of prison. The common theme was drugs and guns. Year after year, he would go in for 3 months for possession, and then out again, he appeared to have stolen a gun, and then he had begun maintaining a house for drug activity.

It's a familiar story in Wilson, North Carolina, a half-black and half-white city of under 50,000 which has seen huge drug busts over the years and where the crime logs focus on drug-related crimes by men with three names and no future.

In the age of drug apps, a former president who casually mentioned using cocaine, and a partnership between leftists, libertarians, and some GOPers to decriminalize drugs, focusing on the drug angle is considered politically incorrect. And yet it’s always lurking there anyway.

No one familiar with street level crime was surprised to find drugs in Floyd’s system or Sessoms’ drug charges. This is the world inhabited by police officers who patrol the streets and answer calls, knowing each time what they’ll see before they even arrive at the scene.

The Defund Police movement is right in one regard. We’ve outsourced managing the collapse of our society to men willing to deal with the worst elements of it for $28,000 a year. We have, justly, spent a great deal of time talking about the psychological traumas of veterans, but very little dealing with the state of mind of the men and women fighting the war on our own streets.

But the Defund Police movement and its allies, including top Democrats, insist that there is no crisis. Everything from the drug war to the concept of private property was invented by old white men to keep young black men down. There is no crime problem, only an enforcement problem.

After trying out this theory for a few months, freeing thousands of criminals, refusing to arrest or imprison new criminals, and tying the hands of police, the crime rate skyrocketed. And black elected officials, from the moderates to the radicals, have come out for law enforcement. Every poll shows solid majorities of black people want the police to stay right where they are.

The drug war and its massive police presence were not invented by white racists, they were lobbied for and demanded by black communities who wanted to end the violence. That painful lesson is being relearned at a great cost in human lives. And it’s a long way from over.

After twenty years of hard work and success, too many people forgot what made us safe.

The unhappy truth is that Cannon Hinnant is dead because his killer wasn’t in jail. And George Floyd is dead and a nation is on fire because he wasn’t safely tucked away in prison.

Criminal justice reform didn’t do anyone any favors. Not the criminals or their victims.

Democrats killed Cannon Hinnant, they killed George Floyd, and they’re killing American cities.

Instead of dealing with the disaster, the Democrats continue to treat dead criminals like saints while ignoring their victims. They feed racial narratives, filling headlines with ‘white’ perpetrators and ‘black’ victims while ignoring stories like Cannon’s murder that don’t fit their racial narrative.

The media is pumping out a steady diet of black victims and white perpetrators. Even if the perpetrating usually seems to involve calling the police in a potentially dangerous situation. But the police forces, many of them run by or filled with minorities, aren’t oppressing black communities, they’re protecting them. Because there are plenty of black Cannons.

Three children are shot on average every week in Philly. The cops aren’t shooting them.

In under a decade, criminal justice reform turned the country’s biggest cities into hellholes. The Democrat media is frantically trying to keep a lid on the biggest scandal in a generation. Even while gang members are racking up a body count that we haven’t seen before in this century, the media keeps shouting that black people are being terrorized by white cops.

That must be why, in a recent Gallup poll, 81% of black people wanted more or the same amount of police. But just having the police patrol neighborhoods isn’t the answer. Arrests are meaningless unless the perpetrators are held until trial, instead of being put back on the streets. Trials have to end in serious prison time for violent offenders, gang members, and drug dealers.

Bail reform, drug decriminalization, and the rest of the criminal justice reform disaster must go.

Organized crime in America is largely controlled by gangs, some foreign and some domestic, it’s time we stopped believing the lies that they’re socially deprived oppressed youth, and started treating them like Al Qaeda, instead of a bunch of social welfare cases.

America has to go back to the hoary cliche of the drug war that liberals and libertarians hate so much. And the southern border has to be secured against the cartels and China.

George Floyd was high on fentanyl. The source of the deadly drug is often China.

If Obama hadn’t given China’s drug trade a pass while making sure Americans needed an ID to buy cough syrup, the entire Floyd case might never have happened. The more America goes after foreign drug industries, the less it needs to spend time policing Americans.

Just like Islamic terrorism, we can fight it at the source, or we can try controlling it at home.

If China were shipping IEDs to America that were killing 30,000 people a year, we would have a national response. But it’s just pushing chemicals that are killing 30,000 Americans a year.

The drug war, like the war on terror, is a two way street. Unilaterally surrendering doesn’t work.

We gave up on the war on drugs. And the People’s Republic of China is winning the war on us.

None of this is what the media wants to talk about because it strikes at the heart of the governance failures of their political party. Instead it wants to convince Americans to double down on the same policies that killed Cannon Hinnant, that killed George Floyd, and that are killing tens of thousands of Americans every single year with bullets, knives, and overdoses.

The Democrats embraced criminals, championing their voting rights, their employment rights, and their right not to be locked up for committing crimes. They need to be held accountable.

America can belong to the criminals or to the citizens.

We’ve seen what a country that belongs to the criminals looks like. In Chicago, the city is raising bridges to keep the mobs of looters out of downtown. In Portland, armed mobs besieged a federal courthouse. In New York City, the streets are empty at night. In Minneapolis, the only security comes from private security. Everywhere in the big cities there is fear and death.

The answer lies with the same old three Ps: police, prosecutors, and prisons.

It begins with the simple truth that if Sessoms hadn't been living on Archers Road, Cannon Hinnant would still be alive. The justice system exists to protect children like Cannon from criminals like Sessoms. The Democrats have reversed the equation, fighting to protect criminals from their victims. America will belong to its people again when the criminals are back in prison.

George Floyd had ‘violent criminal history’: Minneapolis police union chief

By Kate Sheehy June 2, 2020

The head of the Minneapolis police union says George Floyd’s “violent criminal history” needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a “terrorist movement.”

“What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this,” police union president Bob Kroll told his members in a letter posted Monday on Twitter.

Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.

Floyd died last week after a white cop kneeled on the 46-year-old black man’s neck for nearly 9 minutes, a shocking incident that was caught on video and is sparking widespread violent protests, including in New York City. Floyd had allegedly just tried to pass a phony $20 bill before he died.

“This terrorist movement that is currently occurring was a long time build up which dates back years,” Kroll said in his letter of the protests, adding that some of his city’s issues exist because Minneapolis leaders have been “minimizing the size of our police force and diverting funds to community activists with an anti-police agenda.

“Our chief requested 400 more officers and was flatly denied any. This is what led to this record breaking riot,” he said.

The union chief vowed that his organization would help the cop accused of killing Floyd, now-fired Officer Derek Chauvin, and three other officers who were at the scene and are being investigated.

“I’ve worked with the four defense attorneys that are representing each of our four terminated individuals under criminal investigation, in addition with our labor attorneys to fight for their jobs. They were terminated without due process,” Kroll wrote.

Hypocritical UN Human Rights Council Members Exploit George Floyd Killing

By —— Bio and Archives--June 19, 2020

The dysfunctional United Nations Human Rights Council, which the United States exited for good reason two years ago, is exploiting the tragic killing of George Floyd. The Council decided to hold a U.S. bashing fest entitled “Urgent debate on systemic racism and police brutality in the United States.” The debate, which concluded on June 18th, followed on the heels of a harsh anti-American statement issued by the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. That statement denounced the United States for alleged “systemic and structural discrimination” which “disproportionately promotes racial disparities against African Americans.” It called for the United States to make what would amount to a public confession of the alleged “existence of structural racial discrimination” in American society..........To Read More....

Everyone loses in the George Floyd riots

By Ernesto J. Antunez

A major American city has been sacked as if it were the capital of a hated enemy by roving gangs of wild-eyed revolutionists and snarling hooligans. Who are these persons They are our very own "wretched of the earth." They are the maladjusted, the perpetually enraged, the nihilists, the criminals, the fanatics, the opportunists — to summarize, all those who are always ready to tell anyone and everyone who will listen that they are "more sinned against than sinning."

All societies have such a subterraneous layer of individuals, and it is major disturbances such as riots that bring them to the forefront to vent their existential hatred, live out their revolutionary fantasies, or simply settle scores.  Even more eye-opening than these riots have been the reactions.

Let us focus on the police forces of our Republic. They are in the process of becoming cruel yet ineffectual. They swagger when intimidating timid citizens into closing their "non-essential" businesses or when called to disperse "unsanitary" church services, but they tremble when facing down rioters. That is to say they are very good at what they shouldn't do and very bad at what they should.

Having spent all the goodwill and respect of the police during this absurd lockdown on trivial outrages and petty acts of tyranny, our politicians now find the well dry when an actual emergency presents itself. .............To Read More....

George Floyd Riots: ANTIFA's Marxist Anti-Cop Skulduggery

By —— Bio and Archives--May 31, 2020

Do current US riots arise by design? Of course. Consider what George Floyd mayhem, cop surrender, Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM) share? Yes, it’s all elemental “Woke” leftism, aka Socialism/ Marxism. Protests are organized by Antifa, Black Lives Matter and others. Portland’s violence was planned by Marxist PNW Youth Liberation Front. Antifa, the “anti fascist” group, believes violence is ethical. Thousands of rioters travel to other cities to riot, which POTUS blamed on “Antifa and other radical left-wing groups.” Trump dismissed these “professionally managed so-called protesters” who “had little to do with the memory of George Floyd”.  Leftists perpetually seek opportunity to revolt................

Civil unrest today has many overtones of those past days. They are all too familiar. Little has changed. Scientific Mobocracy, a communist technique designed against our police, is still used today. The 1964 New York City riots were a well-organized effort conducted by the Communist Party. Pamphlets were scattered throughout the city to discredit and neutralize the police. See Mobocracy: The Cultural & Political War.

Objectives were leaked by the party’s hierarchy:
  • Use civil rights demonstrations to provoke violence and riots in targeted cities.
  • Blame riots on “police brutality,” confuse public, spread “hate the police” propaganda.
  • Frighten and isolate Negro voters to vote in a radical bloc for candidates who will scrap the Constitution and set up a “new order.”
  • Demand civilian police review boards in hopes of removing the police from under the discipline and control of the people’s elected officials.
Communists spent 2 years “toward agitation of the uprising” in Watts, CA before the famed riot “spontaneously” occurred............To Read More......
