Observations From the Back Row
By Rich Kozlovich
Editor's Note: Here is the link to all I've published about this horror: My Israel/HAMAS War Series. RK
As you go through these posts you realize there's an infectious insanity taking over the world where those who performed disgusting and vile acts against the Jewish civilian population of Israel are being defended by prominent people, especially in academia and Hollywood. Both of which are irrational snake pits.
Obama is once again demonstrating what a disgrace he is as a human being, but, that's nothing new. The man has no shame, no honor, no dignity, or integrity. Honesty is nonexistent in his character. He's the perfect leftist Democrat. Then again, is that any other kind? Once again, who really is responsible for all this? Jimmy Carter! He was a disgrace as a President, and in my opinion, as a human being.
It's hard to believe someone that dumb and that incompetent could end up only being the third dumbest, and most incompetent man to sit at the Resolute Desk. Right behind Obama, and now, Biden, who may never be defeated for the dumbest, most incompetent, most destructive, and most corrupt President ever..
Guess Where Hamas Is Launching Rockets From Into Israel - Spencer Brown | October 23, 2023 - New documentation released by the Israel Defense Forces shows more of the barbarism practiced by Hamas terrorists inside the Gaza Strip. In addition to targeting civilian targets indiscriminately across Israel with their rockets, Hamas has continued to launch their attacks from locations intended to endanger civilians in Gaza, including United Nations buildings, mosques, and schools.
Here Are Obama's 'Thoughts on Israel and Hamas.' Just Wait Until You Get to the End. Matt Vespa

October 23 = You can decide and debate this in the comments section
below. Former President Barack Obama has another lengthy post about his
“thoughts” on the Israel-Hamas war. It’s a tortured thought exercise
that will inevitably leave all parties dissatisfied. Obama voices his
support for Israel, the safety of its people, and its right to exist,
which is anathema to the legions of far-left, pro-Hamas supporters we’ve
seen come out of the bushes in the past two weeks. These folks weren’t
clamoring for a two-state solution; they wanted Israel destroyed, along
with its people.........
The worst since Carter By Silvio Canto, Jr. - Former President Jimmy Carter left office in 1981 -- 42 years ago, if you remember. Today, the former president and Mrs. Carter are in Georgia gracefully facing the end. For the record, I always thought that Carter was a decent man who should have never been president. He won the "Watergate" election and there is not a lot about his presidency that we care to remember.Today, we remember President Carter because of President Biden, or Carter II as John Kaas wrote: .............
Report: White House Holds Wellness Meetings for Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian Aides - Wendell Husebø The White House senior staff reportedly held wellness meetings for aides who may be struggling with Israel’s defensive measures taken against the Hamas terror group. The meetings, termed “listening sessions,” featured serious “discussions” about the war and its impact on White House aides, eight officials told Politico............
Hollywood Writers Union Condemns Hamas Attacks in Israel, Apologizes for ‘Tremendous Pain’ Caused by Weeks of Silence - David Ng In a dramatic reversal, Hollywood’s writers union has apologized for refusing to condemn the Hamas terror attacks in Israel that have left 1,400 dead, with union leaders issuing a public message of contrition Tuesday following several days of mounting pressure from within its own ranks......
Oh, So That's Who Funded the Pro-Hamas 'Insurrectionists' on Capitol Hill - Mia Cathell October 25, 2023 - Pull back the curtain, and you'll invariably find that all roads lead to Soros. We were told by the language police that any and all criticism of Democrat mega-donor George Soros, a Jewish-born Holocaust survivor and champion of left-wing causes, is inherently "anti-Semitic" and fuels the conspiratorial trope that Jews control society............
“Dad, Be Proud Of Me!” - October 24, 2023 — John Hinderaker - This is a recording of a phone call that a Gazan terrorist made to his family as he was butchering Jews during the October 7 invasion. He boasts that he has personally killed ten Jews, and his parents express their pride in his exploit. This illustrates why Israel must not be content with killing a few Hamas leaders. The problem with Gaza is not Hamas. Hamas is a symptom. The ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Israeli Children “Detained” in Gaza - October 24, 2023 — Lloyd Billingsley - “Israeli Strike Kills Hundreds in Hospital, Palestinians Say,” the New York Times headlined its October 17 front-page story, accompanied by a photo of a bombed-out building. As it turned out, the building wasn’t the hospital and it wasn’t an “Israeli strike.” As a replication of Hamas propaganda that was hard to top, but the Washington Post gave it a shot. On October 19, the Post ran a story about families ...............
Mugged By Reality- October 24, 2023 John Hinderaker - Bari Weiss is one of America’s top independent journalists, with a popular podcast. We have followed her work here for a while. The Gazan invasion of Israel, with its attendant horrors, seems to have pushed her over the edge. Read the whole thing; it is eloquent: Journalist Bari Weiss, a Jewish liberal who quit the New York Times over its anti-Semitism, writes:
”As a Democrat who has been left homeless..............“So much of the work that happened in that [Trump] administration turns out to have been right. And that’s what is so frustrating for me. The work on the border wall? We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message. Turned out it was right. Issuing long-term debt to refinance when rates were at zero? We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message. A structural peace in the Middle East? We didn’t like the messenger, so we killed the message.” “When are we gonna stop shooting ourselves in the foot? And when are we going to actually see and take the time to look past who is saying things and actually listen to them word for word?”.
Greta Thunberg removed from Israel’s curriculum after pro-Hamas posts October 25, 2023 By Anthony Gonzalez - Far-left “climate activist” Greta Thunberg announced she stood in solidarity with the cause of Hamas, calling for a “ceasefire” after the terrorist group had invaded Israel and butchered civilians; in response, Israel announced it will remove her from its school curriculum.................
Nauseating: George Washington University projects Hamas-glorifying slogans on a building with Jewish donors' names - October 25, 2023 By Monica Showalter - Like an ignorant radical madrassa in some benighted fist-waving burg like Mogadishu or Kabul, George Washington University has allowed presumably students to project Jew-hating pro-Hamas statements on the wall of one of its august buildings in the heart of Washington, D.C.......
Israel irate over U.N. chief's 'disgusting' speech, urges him to quit - 'This is disgusting and disqualifies him from leading the U.N.' - By WND News Services October 24, 2023 - Israel condemned United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for claiming that the Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel “did not occur in a vacuum,” according to multiple reports. Hamas kidnapped over 200 civilians during a mass terrorist attack against Israel that has killed over 1,400 civilians since Oct. 7. Guterres appeared to suggest on Tuesday that the attacks followed “years of suffocating occupation” and subsequently called for a cease-fire, which prompted calls for his resignation by Israeli officials, according to the Times Of Israel...............
Turkey’s Erdogan: ‘Hamas Is Not a Terrorist Organization’ - Frances Martel The radical Islamist president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, defended the genocidal terrorist organization Hamas in an incendiary address on Wednesday in which he abruptly canceled a planned visit to Israel in light of the horrific Hamas mass murder of over 1,400 people on October 7.........
Obama’s ‘friendly advice’ to Israel - October 25, 2023 - By Bill Hansmann - Barack Obama describes himself as a friend of Israel. In reality, the relationship between the former president and the State of Israel, one embodied by his approach to their leader Benjamin Netanyahu, has always been strained, if not downright hostile, since Obama was elected president. Reportedly, when Netanyahu was invited to the Obama White House, he was snubbed and then kept waiting by Obama for half an hour, before the president finally condescended to see the leader of our country’s great ally and only friend in the Middle East. Obama’s petulance continued to be publicly displayed when he failed to congratulate Netanyahu on his 2015 re-election............If Obama, despite these Hamas atrocities, thinks the Palestinian attitude towards Israel could get worse, and if he really believes he is giving Israel friendly advice, Israel’s thought must certainly be, “With friends like this, who needs enemies?”

Cinema is a rare art form that transcends all boundaries and brings people together. Nowhere else does a diverse group of people sit together to experience similar emotions simultaneously. Audiences are enthralled together, they laugh together, they cheer together, they jeer together, they cry together, and if the work is admirable, they applaud together.
Art should solely be judged on its merit, and cinema is an art that is no different. The sole criteria should be how well the story was told. The origins or ethnicity of the storyteller are immaterial. However, in recent years, that has changed. When award nominations are announced, many in the media study the demographic groups of the nominees instead of the quality of their work.......To Read More...
Hollywood writers’ strike reveals further hypocrisy of showbiz 'elites' - By Rajan Laad May 3, 2023 - Early yesterday, thousands of Hollywood screenwriters went on strike after last-minute talks with major studios broke down. The Writers Guild of America (WGA) is demanding better pay and a greater share of the profits owing to the streaming boom from the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), which represents the major studios and streaming giants such as Netflix. Currently, audiences consume most of their content from streaming services. The convenience of watching movies or a series at the time of choice from the luxury of one's home has reduced the number of broadcast and cable scripted series as well as visits to the cinemas. The pandemic probably contributed to the irrevocable change in viewing habits for some viewers.................
A BBC instruction manual for kids to propagandize their parents - By Rajan Laad April 24, 2023 - The day before yesterday, the BBC carried a piece titled "Earth Day: How to talk to your parents about climate change." The article begins addressing the target underaged readers:.................The piece is broken into three sections targeting what the people at the BBC imply are evils of our times. The first section focuses on "How to talk about going meat-free."
I'm a lifelong Republican voter, born and raised in Massachusetts. My Dad is a well informed, outspoken, rock-ribbed conservative republican. I remember him putting a Barry Goldwater bumper sticker on our station wagon in 1964, when we lived in tough, blue-collar Worcester. This man is afraid of nothing.
I was afforded many opportunities to listen to lively political discourse at family events while I was growing up. These people loved one another, so the discussions were never nasty or hurtful. Most of the younger members of the family watching these discussions eventually gravitated toward being Republicans.Family fights and ugly words would not have produced that result. That was an important lesson.
It's no secret that deep-blue Massachusetts breeds rabid leftist ideologues — it's the state's chief export (and I do mean chief).
However,
those people aren't anywhere near the majority in Massachusetts, even
though they run the place. The fact is, these people aren't the
majority anywhere, though they try to convince us otherwise.
Here is the problem in a nutshell. Most Democrat voters don't realize that leftist idealogues have hijacked the Democrat party, actively pushing traditional Democrat politicians out. They don't yet understand that the Democrat party they knew doesn't exist anymore.Almost all of the major news organizations work together to lie to Democrat voters and feed them misinformation constantly.
Corrupted government entities like the FBI and the DOJ, and the leftists running all social media, have worked together to censor and silence any dissenting voices. The goal is to create a false reality in the eyes of Democrat voters and shield them from the truth. This is vital to ensure their continued support on Election Day. ..............To Read More.....
Twitter has designated National Public Radio as “state-affiliated media.”
Twitter has labeled National Public Radio as “state-affiliated media” on the social media site, a move some worried Wednesday could undermine public confidence in the news organization.
We can only hope so.
NPR said it was disturbed to see the description added to all of the tweets that it sends out, with John Lansing, its president and CEO, calling it “unacceptable for Twitter to label us this way.”
It was unclear why Twitter made the move. Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, quoted a definition of state-affiliated media in the company’s guidelines as “outlets where the state exercises control over editorial content through financial resources, direct or indirect political pressures, and/or control over production and distribution.”
“Seems accurate,” Musk tweeted in a reply to NPR.
These days, NPR gets only a minor percentage of its funding from the federal government. But it gets much more from its state affiliates, which themselves are largely financed by the federal and state governments..............To Read More..
What is it about Utah and school lunches? Back in 2014, one of their districts famously threw out children's school lunches in front of their faces based on their parents' unpaid lunch debt, wasting tons of food and humiliating the children. Nine years later, they're telling the kids to eat bugs. To save the earth or whatever, and get extra class credit, though let's face it, the humiliation is the same...........Uncomfortable? How about repulsed?...........More disturbing still, kids were told to eat the bug and then write an essay on why bug-eating is good for the planet.............The girl's mother rightly pointed out that the teacher's inability to brook dissident signaled indoctrination over education, the wokester agenda in action..........
Greens have unsuccessfully tried to sell us on all sorts of repulsive
things to put into our bodies -- from various versions of soylent green,
to "stewmaking" burials, to human compost burials, to recycling urine
into drinking water to save the earth, to eating bugs. It's one
disgusting thing after another, which these days even
includes attempting to coax people into taking public transit. Not too long ago, a Utah official tried to encourage people to eat wild toads to save the environment. Utah teachers were also recently caught teaching CRT in schools behind the kids' parents' backs..............It's lunacy and the parents are right to speak out...........To Read More...

One of my graduate history professors made a statement in class once I have never forgotten: “Before you study the history, study the historian." This is indeed insightful. His meaning was simply that historians are people, too, and we are influenced by our beliefs, culture, traditions, etc. like anyone else. A good historian will try, as best as possible, to tell the historical “story” as accurately as he/she can, and such is not impossible. I firmly believe historical truth can be discovered. But there does exist a near-infinite amount of historical data available, and a historian does have to choose which of that data he uses. He can, and often will, be influenced by his world view. But some histories can be trusted because the historian tries to be honest. However, some histories (e.g., Howard Zinn’s) are kitty litterbox lining stuff.
Michael Beschloss has published several historical works; I confess, I’ve never read any of them because they aren’t in my historical field of expertise or interest. Though I have never written any “history” books (I do have two Western novels out, Whitewater and River Bend), I have a Master’s degree in the subject (never finished my PhD) and I did teach history at American universities and colleges in three different countries for almost three decades. Thus, I believe I know a little about the subject, but mostly because I learned (usually after grad school) which historians to trust, and which ones not to.
As
noted, I haven’t read any of Michael Beschloss’s books. And I won’t
because Beschloss is a diehard Democrat, a contributor to MSNBC’s
drivel, and, maybe I am being unfair, but that’s enough to disqualify
him as any kind of “objective” historian, in my humble opinion.........To Read More...
Let’s commence with a simple premise: An uneducated or undereducated American population is vulnerable on multiple levels. Our standard of living, history of peaceful coexistence, prosperity, propensity to be manipulated and more are problematic.
America’s Public Education System is in shambles. Covid was just the final nail in the coffin. Our public education system has been dysfunctional for a long time. My Father graduated from an NYC Public School somewhere around 1945. (I like to brag that he had one of two perfect scores in the New York State Regent’s Exam that year.) The NYC School System was known for graduating some of the finest students in America.
But no longer. Excuses are irrelevant. My Father’s school was filled with Italians, Jews, and others, mostly poor, first-generation immigrants living in the Bronx. Parents expected a traditional and quality education, and they got it. Today, society demands Equity instead. ...........To Read More..
The corrosive influence of anti-American propagandist Howard Zinn.
For 42 years American school children have been subject to a barrage of misinformation about our American history. This has helped cause many of them to hate America. And virtually every day we read about the results.
For example, there’s a curriculum clash in one of our nation’s most conservative states. On Friday, Gary Bauer reported that the Oklahoma Board of Education decided to downgrade the Tulsa Public School District’s accreditation. This is because in Tulsa, they’re still teaching Marxist critical race theory---which is now against the law in the Sooner State.
Oklahoma’s Secretary of Education is Ryan Walters, who told Fox News: "What we've got to do is go back to teaching our history and ensuring that every young person has the ability to be successful and be inspired by our history." He added, “We’re the greatest country in the history of the world, and our kids need to know that.”
But how will children in Oklahoma, and all the other states, learn to appreciate our country when so many have been brainwashed with a false view for so long?
“Howard Zinn died in 2010, but [his book] A People’s History of the United States lives on and carries the rhetoric of past decades of leftist politics forward with it.” So writes Dr. Mary Grabar, author of the book, Debunking Howard Zinn: Exposing the Fake History That Turned a Generation against America (2019)...........Falsely Teaching Our Children That America is Evil
I don't want to go crazy here, but the federal, state, and local governments are driving me off the edge. My county instituted another stupid mask mandate — a useless, counterproductive exercise, which is being very, very unevenly enforced, I have to say. In Alameda County, Berkeley has its own health department, which didn't go along. You can go to the Berkeley Whole Foods without a mask, while Oakland requires them. So, so stupid! Here's a more detailed explanation of how much harm masking does. The only reason for making anyone put on a mask is to control him and marginalize his liberty.
What prompted this mandate? Who knows? "Cases" are reported to be up. Yeah, but what about hospitalizations and deaths? The national COVID tracker database is gone. First, they stopped recording numbers, so every state and county graph simply flatlined. Then the site disappeared altogether. Tell me why, please! It's always been the one reliable source of information. Did they stop so we'd be in the dark while they pushed for more restrictions?
If I hear another person say, "I'm up to date on my shots, but I just got COVID," I will scream. They all say the same thing, and it's always BS: "At least I was vaccinated, so it wasn't so bad." Look at the facts, people — if you can find them still! I had to put a link for stats in England, not the USA.
The people getting COVID are all vaccinated. The vaccinated are also the ones getting serious illnesses. Countries that never got on the jab bandwagon are done with COVID and have been for a year or even more.......To Read More.
Many zealous greens are strongly imbued with pagan values. Paganism is generally defined as polytheism mixed in with nature worship. Primitive pagans frequently cowered before the forces of nature, fatalistically resigned to being at nature’s mercy, believing that progress was not only impossible, but a criminal offense against nature. So complete was their submission to nature, and so foreign to them was the idea that individual lives have value, that pagan societies often practiced human sacrifice to appease the gods of nature, particularly the sun god (e.g., the Aztecs).
Let’s forget about polytheism for now. What’s more important are the attitudes toward nature and human life. In the modern scientific era, many people – whether prompted by theistic or humanistic beliefs and values – reject the pagan beliefs that humankind should submit to nature and that individual human lives deserves protection. However, many other people, particularly hardcore greens, reject those principles and replicate primitive paganism by exalting nature and devaluing human life.
Pagan greens insist that we cling to dependence on natural, “clean, renewable” sources of energy, namely, from the wind and sun. Try as they might, though, they can’t coax consistency and reliability out of those fickle natural sources. Nor are wind and solar energy really clean or renewable, since they depend on massive consumption of many “nonrenewable” resources, some of them highly polluting. (They also kill more wildlife than fossil fuels do, but that’s another story.)
Of particular concern are the sometimes rabidly anti-human beliefs of green pagans. They have variously labelled the human race “a virus,” “a disease” “vermin,” “a cancer.” The hatred for humanity is palpable. Here is more: “The extinction of the human species may not only be inevitable but a good thing”; “Human beings, as a species, have no more value than slugs”; “Man is no more important than any other species.”
Like some primitive pagan societies, groveling in fear before the forces of nature, pagan greens believe that some individuals need to be sacrificed for life to go on. Thus, the founder of the Environmental Defense Fund, favored banning DDT because the ban would, “get rid of some of them” (in Ebenezer Scrooge’s words, “decrease the surplus population”) via insect-borne malaria and insect-caused crop destruction. Indeed, the human death toll from banning rather than moderating the use of DDT has exceeded the death toll from communism, making environmentalism the most lethal leftist ideology in history. That shouldn’t be surprising, for communists at least paid lip service (however dishonestly) to “the good of the people,” while pagan greens regard human life as no better than a pestilential germ.
The anti-human animus of pagan greens even gave rise to a pejorative term: “speciesism” – i.e., the belief that humans are superior to other species. Well, in pagan green cosmology, humans may not be superior to other species, but in the real world, we are. Forget about us being at the top of the food chain. Think moon-landings, movie magic, Mozart and McCartney. Humans are unique. Every other species pursues its self-interest without a thought for the long-term survival of other species. Only humans have enough foresight to take deliberate steps to try to conserve other species. Only humans could feel regret and grieve if a beloved species goes extinct. Only humans are clever enough to discover or invent 57 different genders. Sorry, animal kingdom, but it’s no contest – humans are superior.
The contrary belief to speciesism is that all species are equal. That belief can be harmful to humans. About 30 years ago, the Environmental Protection Agency blocked the cleanup of sewage in the Tijuana River Basin on the grounds that the cleanup would endanger the survival of the life forms that dwelled in that toxic (to humans) brew. Yes, federal bureaucrats placed the survival of various bacteria above the health of human beings. That’s pagan!
Another manifestation of anti-human green paganism is their preference for anti-growth agendas. The deadliest environment for a human being is poverty, yet greens work to thwart economic development in developing countries by trying to deny them access to the very fossil fuels that enabled the people in developed countries to climb out of poverty and live thriving, healthy lives. You can read details of these tragic and genocidal policies in Paul Driessen’s superb book, Eco-Imperialism. We need an environmentalism as if people mattered. (As a counterpoise to Friends of the Earth, we could use an environmental advocacy group called “Friends of people who live on Earth.)
Green icon Paul Ehrlich once asserted, “Economic growth is not the solution it’s the problem.” He is 180 degrees off-target. Growth is the solution. If it were true that the more economic development there is, the more polluted our environment would be, then our goose would be cooked. We could conceivably get so prosperous that we’d pollute ourselves to death. But the world doesn’t work that way.
Instead, there is a well-known pattern known as the Kuznets curve (named after the late economist Simon Kuznets who explained the pattern). What happens is that when societies begin to develop and climb out of poverty, pollution rises. But once development gets to the point where basic needs are met and discretionary income rises, people are willing and able to spend money on both pollution remediation and pollution prevention. Consequently, affluent (developed) societies are less polluted than developing societies.
Contemporary green paganism is an atavistic, anti-life fetish. Cloaked in mystical ignorance and wildly misanthropic, contemporary green pagans are as much of a threat to their fellow humans as their primitive forbears ever were.

I recently wrote about academic bias. Today, let’s analyze whether there is a similar problem with journalists. And we’ll start with this video from Prager U. Just as with the column on academic bias, we’ll start by looking at evidence about whether members of the press actually do lean to the left. Since I’ve shared may examples of media bias (see here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here), I think the answer is yes.
But don’t believe me, Journalists openly admit their orientation. And this isn’t a recent thing. A Roper Center report back in the 1990s included this table showing the leftist tilt was especially pronounced among D.C.-based journalists...........To Read More....
As far as I can tell, this is what we are now supposed to believe as Americans, in this first year of the Glorious Deep State's Blessed and Eternal Reign:
Our country is so irredeemably racist
that people of all races keep sneaking into the United States at
breakneck speeds. Our military is so well prepared for future threats
from China and Russia that it can dedicate its resources to spreading
transgenderism through its ranks, pontificating about "white rage" at
book clubs, firing servicemembers for not "vaxxing up," and challenging
"climate change" to bouts of fisticuffs. Our border is so secure that
we have time to worry about Ukraine's. China is so worrisome a global
adversary that our political and business "elites" continue to transfer
American wealth and manufacturing capabilities to its shores. Russia is
so much of a geopolitical foe that our government's weather warriors
have chosen to kill America's domestic energy production and increase
Russia's leverage over the world's supply of oil and natural gas. And
Iran, which continues to promise "death to Israel," must be coddled and
rewarded before it hurts our friends.............To Read More...
The nonprofit, leftwing billionaire-funded center hosted a webinar for educators and librarians offering tips on how to use their 1619 Project material and skirt laws banning its use.
On December 13, the nonprofit Pulitzer Center hosted a webinar for educators and librarians offering tips on how to use their 1619 Project material and skirt laws banning its use.
The leftwing billionaire-funded center slipped premade 1619 Project lessons into thousands of schools immediately after the publication of the original 1619 Project, a special issue of The New York Times Magazine on Aug. 18, 2019. The mishmash of essays, articles, literary writing, and photographs claimed to reframe our nation as a “slavocracy” that began in 1619 — the year about 20 Africans arrived in Jamestown — not 1776. Per the formula of critical race theory, the rest has been a race struggle between white oppressors and black victims.
In the webinar, New York Times Magazine editor Jake Silverstein moderated a “conversation” between 1619 Project creator Nikole Hannah-Jones and Donnalie Jamnah, a former high school English teacher hired by the Pulitzer Center to coordinate with educators. This webinar further confirmed that The 1619 Project is an indoctrination tool.
The webinar advised educators that although a law may prohibit requiring The 1619 Project, it may not necessarily forbid its use as an alternate reading. And though a school board may ban The 1619 Project, teachers should find out if the board has the authority to do so. It directed educators to an upcoming event in February that would present student work and share information about “how teachers have protected themselves.”
The December virtual event was a continuation of the outreach that offers educators downloadable curricula, ongoing continuing education, and $5,000 teacher grants. Such efforts to subvert laws intended to protect students from propaganda is funded, ultimately, by taxpayers, through tax subsidization of nonprofits and their billionaire funders, and through salaries for teachers and librarians.
The webinar also revealed the questionable collaborative efforts between for-profit companies (The New York Times) and nonprofits (the Pierre Omidyar- and Mark Zuckerberg-funded Pulitzer Center). On behalf of The New York Times, Madeline Felix in her introductory remarks gave a sales pitch and encouraged the 6,000-plus viewers (including K-12 teachers, librarians, community college instructors, homeschooling parents, and nursing school personnel) to purchase the newspaper at the discounted campus-wide rate.
Librarians have become especially useful for getting materials to students outside of the formal class setting. They are important in ensuring that libraries have the two 1619 Project books recently published by Penguin Random House — “Born on the Water,” a picture book, and “The 1619 Project: A New Origin Story,” a 600-page expansion of the original work. In another display of for-profit/nonprofit coordination, Penguin Random House is using a consortium of bookstores, a nonprofit that distributes “diverse books” (partially funded by Penguin Random House!), and Hannah-Jones via Twitter to encourage fans to purchase copies to donate to libraries, schools, organizations, and after-school programs.
The two books (both copyrighted by The New York Times) are clearly intended for use in schools. Penguin Random House offers teachers of all grades a guide for the books, which are produced by the educational arm of the Southern Poverty Law Center, Learning for Justice.
Hannah-Jones insisted that objections to the use of her materials in classrooms is censorship because the historical accuracy could not be a legitimate concern.
Informed by her reading of such anti-Trump tracts as “How Fascism Works” by Jason Stanley, she interpreted the efforts to keep her “journalism” out of classrooms as part of the larger effort towards “authoritarianism” and fascism. It is no coincidence, she said, that the states “censoring” her work were also enacting laws restricting abortion and voting. Hannah-Jones has become a political pundit, appearing on MSNBC to describe how “1619 explains” current events, such as January 6. (White supremacy, like everything bad, began in 1619.)
The political intent of the expanded 1619 Project is clearer than ever. Most of the historical errors of the original Project remain and are even compounded. The endnotes and references are intended to put on a scholarly gloss. The quasi-historical/political essays, creative prose, “poetry,” and photographs serve as preparation for the final essay’s argument for reparations.
To Silverstein’s recounting of the claims that the project is “divisive” and makes “kids feel bad,” Jamnah said nonsense. Anything that could make white students feel evil was “not in the project.”
Jamnah apparently sees nothing objectionable in this sentence from the original project and repeated in Hannah-Jones’s essay, “Democracy,” in the book, intended for high-school students: “In response to Black demands for [their] rights, white Americans strung them from trees, beat them and dumped their bodies in muddy rivers, assassinated them in their front yards, firebombed them on buses, mauled their dogs, peeled back their skin with firehoses, and murdered their children with explosives set off inside a church.”
“White America” also constructed “a savagely enforced system of racial apartheid” that also provided “inspiration” for Nazi Germany’s racial policies. Nor did Jamnah object to kindergartners being read “Born on the Water” and hearing about how “white people” “kidnapped” “our people,” “forced them into the bottom of an evil ship” and about how “white men” “traded another’s child, another’s momma and daddy.”
As Jamnah revealed by referencing 170 teachers and administrators who are developing materials for several subject areas for kindergarten through college, The 1619 Project is intended to saturate the educational experience of Americans at every stage and in every subject. (Already, students who have been subjected to it in high school find themselves studying it again in college classes.) By sheer reach alone, The 1619 Project will have the effect of replacing 1776, despite Hannah-Jones’s protestations to the contrary.
As teachers spend weeks and weeks on The 1619 Project, valuable time is lost for studying real history, civics, and literature. This is not to mention the human waste in emotionally scarred and ignorant young adults readied to ravage cities in a reprise of The 1619 Project riots of 2020.
We need to remain vigilant, even in states that have passed laws forbidding the use of The 1619 Project and Critical Race Theory in public classrooms. Publishing corporations are raking in profits producing materials that American taxpayers clearly don’t want.

As an employee of the Commonwealth of Virginia, I had the honor of receiving an email message: “Vaccinations and Mask Wearing.” The message spoke of further requirements:
Vaccination remains the most effective means of protection. We know the vaccines work—since January, more than 98% of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths have been among unvaccinated Virginians. Do your part and get your shot.
I guess the 98% line is used pervasively. My father urges my 20-year-old daughter, who has had Covid, to get vaccinated. He gives the same 98% line. I guess it’s repeated on television or in the newspaper. I come from a family of lifelong lefties.
The 98% propaganda is the fallacy of mistaking an “If A, then B” statement with its inverse. I don’t know how true the 98% claim is, but let’s suppose it’s true. In fact, let’s suppose it’s 100%, not 98%.
That’s the “If A, then B” statement. If vaccinated (A), then no hospitalization and death from Covid (B).
The inverse of an “If A, then B” statement is: “If B, then A.”
In this case, the inverse would be: “If one avoids hospitalization and death from Covid, then one is vaccinated.” That statement is false.
The truth of an “If A, then B” statement does not by any means ensure the truth of the inverse (“If B, then A”).
For example: “If one is a pediatrician, then one is a doctor” does not imply “If one is a doctor, then one is a pediatrician.”
My father, in fact, is a pediatrician, now retired. He urges my daughter (his granddaughter) to get vaccinated. He tries to justify that urging by saying: “Everyone who is vaccinated avoids hospitalization and death from Covid.”
But if there are other surefire ways to avoid hospitalization and death, the justification may be a complete non sequitur.
We can equally say, I tell Dad:
Everyone who has recovered from Covid infection avoids subsequent hospitalization and death.
Everyone who is 20 years old avoids subsequent hospitalization and death.
My daughter, then, on two counts, doesn’t need a vaccination to avoid hospitalization and death from Covid. Meanwhile, there is so much about the vaccination, its development, its rollout, its liability status, and so on that is unknown and irregular—downright bizarre. The matter is not so simple.
Authoritarianism indoctrinates its votaries and buffaloes others into a false and oversimplified worldview, in which the only important factor is vaccination. But the causes of hospitalization and death are multifarious.
The causes that pertain to the individual are known best by the individual. Contrary to diktats, freedom enables individuals to act on the basis of his or her particular conditions, such as whether she has had Covid, whether she is young, whether she has comorbidities, and so on.
Covid authoritarians might say that everyone has to be vaccinated because of spreading. That, too, doesn’t acknowledge natural immunity. As for the rest, the possibility of asymptomatic transmission of the Covid-19 virus from the unvaccinated is extremely low. So again, all the authoritarians seem to have is propaganda.
Tomorrow my daughter and I shall go visit Dad. I’m vaccinated. But we’ll do a test the day of, just to make sure. Focused Protection.

For nearly a decade now, I’ve been keeping track of what I call “K-12 Whoppers” -- examples of egregious and embarrassing educator antics -- in order to understand and document the problem of growing teacher bias and general lack of professionalism in our schools. I do this because, like many Americans, I’m a captive observer of our declining cultural standards and also because I’ve personally experienced unacceptably substandard teaching, both as a student and parent.
I’m not talking about momentary, understandable lapses of judgement coupled with a sincere apology when warranted; we all understand that teaching is a difficult, ongoing, live, semi-impromptu performance with correspondingly high stress levels, and we can be very forgiving of teachers who earnestly do their best and strive to improve on their practice.
No, I’m talking about brazen, unrepentant operators who deliberately and intentionally misuse their access to other citizens’ children to enact their partisan, personal aims, viewing the impressionable young students assigned to their classrooms (and compelled by law to attend) merely as means to their cherished political ends.
Collecting these K-12 disaster anecdotes is a horrible hobby that I don’t recommend, except that it comes with this occasional silver lining: watching the worst operators get their comeuppances. I have to confess that the last week has been pretty satisfying on a schadenfreudian level, watching well-earned consequences accrue to three very deserving parties -- all caught on camera boasting of their exploits in indoctrination and demonstrating less maturity and poorer judgment than the adolescents in their classrooms. So much for the idea of teachers as exemplary role models for American youth!
First, we have the Tik Tok Teacher who giggled about removing the American flag from her classroom because it made her “uncomfortable.” When students then asked where they should face when saying the pledge, she suggested towards the gay pride flag that she had hung on the wall instead. No word on how she felt about the students who felt “uncomfortable” with her suggestion, but they don’t seem to be on her list of concerns. She has, thankfully, been removed from the classroom................ To Read More
It really happened in the 16th century Aztec Empire. It’s really happening AGAIN in the California of our present day. And they’re calling it EDUCATION.

Now that the liberal public education system has allegedly turned school children into fully indoctrinated Marxists, it is now walking them all the way back to centuries-old, uncivilized pagandom.
Children are being taught right in class to memorize and chant the blood-curdling chants of the long ago human sacrificing Aztecs—not in after-hours choir practice, or in glee clubs, because the evil Aztec chant is right on the California K-12 school curriculum.
In typical covert Marxist presentation, it’s not called ‘Learning
the Aztec Chant’ but the more benign sounding— ‘The Ethnic Studies Model
Curriculum’............To Read More....

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Secretary of State Antony Blinken set off on separate overseas trips starting in the Persian Gulf to thank allies for assistance in Afghanistan withdrawal efforts after a chaotic and deadly several weeks.
Blinken landed in Doha, Qatar, on Monday, where several diplomatic exchanges with the Taliban have taken place in recent years and where diplomatic operations serving Afghanistan have been based since the United States closed its embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan................. With the trips, Binken and Austin aim to reassure allies in the Gulf and Europe that the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan does not mean a U.S. abandonment of working with partners to combat extremist threats in the region..........To Read More....
My Take - Apparently they haven't gotten the memo. "That door is closed" and no amount of clabber from incompetent ideologues like Austin, Blinken, Milley and Biden is going to change that because you are what you do, not what you say.
Jen Psaki may be able spew their leftist propaganda and the main stream media will eat it up, but in the real world leaders have to make real decisions that impact their nations.
No matter what they may say publicly, they're going to act in what they believe is in their nations best interests, and the Biden administration's actions tell the story. He and his gang of misfits are incompetent and corrupt anti-American leftist ideologues who've clearly demonstrated they're not to be believed and not to be trusted.
If a President of the United States is willing to sell out his own nation, why would they believe he won't sell them out?

The Air Force Academy requires its incoming cadets to watch a diversity and inclusion video supportive of attending a Black Lives Matter chapter meeting. Critics argue this proves military academies have implemented critical race theory as part of their curriculum.
“We are pleased to offer this introductory D&I course as part of our commitment to working with cadets and cadet candidates in fostering a safe community built on mutual respect, teamwork, and personal dignity......... “I can confirm this is part of required training for inbound cadets,” Air Force Academy spokesman Dean Miller told the Washington Examiner. “This is the first year this training has been used, and it is used at universities across the country.”
Retired Lt. Gen. Rod Bishop and Dr. Ron Scott, a retired USAF Col., created an organization, Stand Together Against Racism and Radicalism in the Services, Incorporated, to stop the implementation of critical race theory, which they argue is “simply Marxism repackaged in new terms.”
Black Lives Matter as an organization has openly espoused Marxism as part of its stated aims, though the phrase is often used to describe concerns about police shootings in black communities.
Critical race theory dates back to the 1970s, and it provides an alternative perspective on the country's history of issues of race. Critical race theorists allege that the country's foundational institutions are designed to keep white people ahead of minorities, requiring the dismantlement of the system to achieve a more just society...........“It’s what to think versus how to think,” and the “problem with that is there is a natural power dynamic in higher education, or really in any education, where if the professors are steering you towards a certain way to think, and you buck that, your grade suffers,” he added.
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said the Department of Defense does not “teach” or “embrace ”
the theory during a House Armed Services Committee budget hearing in
June, but Gen. Mark A. Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,
gave an impassioned speech defending the merits of teaching the theory, comparing it to learning about Mao Zedong and Karl Marx, during the same hearing.........To Read More....
Truth is always the first casualty in the war for freedom and liberty, and while many are still fighting to disseminate the hard truth surrounding current events in America, the Biden regime is going all out in a massive propaganda campaign built on nothing but lies that are designed to build momentum for a final push to permanently end America’s fundamental principles and the republic. Too many Americans are also all too willing to live the lie, under a new emerging Marxist/ Maoist, Cancel Culture Communist tyranny, so long as the Biden regime can continue to redistribute the country’s wealth; however, Americans wishing to live unbothered and free must not live the lie, and we must convince most of America to follow our lead, if America is to be given the slightest of chances to survive in the coming years.
One certainly cannot help but wonder just how long the nation will go
under such a regime, that goes out of its way to paint conservatives and
Christians as “domestic terrorists” and “white supremacists”. Every
policy Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Marx Inc are currently implementing
are aimed at weakening us, making us ashamed and afraid to take a stand
and destroying the core of our spiritual heart and resolve, making the
masses huddle like sheep, ceding their humanity, afraid they might be
ostracized and deprived of the government largesse, or a nice new Party
