The World as I See It, September 7, 2018

By Rich Kozlovich

The EU is a mess, and is looking for new ways to salvage Europe’s economy, including re-evaluating their relationship with Russia and looking at ways to interact with China. All this in an attempt to circumvent any effort by Trump to impose tariffs and sanctions. They’re even playing kissy face huggy bear with Iran to uphold the nuclear deal in hopes of economic gain, yet Iran is facing internal political shakeups over their sorry economic status. What can these EU bureaucrats be thinking? All of that’s a fruit bowl with no fruit. And more countries are revolting over the issue of immigration. That’s going to be the spear that will be driven into the EU’s heart.

Russia is in such dire economic straits they can’t support their pension system, and irrespective of the ideas on his pension reform of increasing the age of eligibility establishes he has nothing to worry about politically, that’s merely a “today” confidence. They’re stepping up military sabre rattling in the Ukraine, and are being provocative with overflights of their fighter air craft into the air space of other nations. Putin is the ultimate gamesman, he was playing chess while Obama was playing checkers. All he does is for a reason, but he can’t afford any real military action against a real opponent, and Trump isn't Obama. Make no mistake about this - Putin, and the world, can tell the difference between a Richie Cunningham and an Arthur Fonzarelli.

China’s now in the midst of an entire reform of the banking system, which has been a mechanism for insane leftist policies that had to eventually collapse. The system they have in place is a “let’s cook the books” system that’s hidden the reality of their economic failure. Will they do a legitimate reform? I can’t see how they can and face the reality of failure in their entire economic system. The illusion of success is needed for all their military and foreign policies. If it’s exposed as a corrupt failure, all their efforts to increase their influence with all the countries in Africa, Asia and the Island nations of the South Pacific will collapse.

There was a time China was committed to total employment not profitability! And with that foundational concept they were even building cities no one was living it to keep people working, and their corrupt banking system was central to that end. Building in China is slowing down. How much? That remains to be seen but if the banking system is to be predicated on profitability in the future – building will virtually come to a halt. Then turmoil will result. Consolidating power in the person of the new Communist Moa Tse Tung Emperor, Chinese President Xi Jinping, is foundational to all that’s going on in China. Including a new set of rules governing what “party cadres” can say and do in their lives, which includes a list of punishments, including expulsion from their positions for having religious beliefs.

Argentina, once at the beginning of the twentieth century was one of the world’s richest nations, is now in a financial crisis and are in desperate need of financial aid from the International Monetary Fund. The value of their currency has dropped dramatically. Socialism is an unending lesson in how to fail and yet the brain dead professors in America’s universities, and the idiots they’re turning out, all want America to “Feel the Bern”.

North Korea is back to playing games, but time isn’t on their side, and South Korea isn’t really on our side. They feel Trump’s stand is detrimental to good North South relations. So why are we spending untold millions to defend them? Maybe we ought to go home and let them deal with that lunatic in the North. However, over the long haul, economics is going to be the “Big Stick” Trump will carry over the finish line with all these countries.

The Syrian affair is an unending mess for anyone involved, including Turkey and Russia. Right now the biggest players are Turkey, Russia, Iran, Kurds and the United States. Watch the Kurds and American involvement, which is more complicated than it appears. The economics isn’t there for any stable society, nor is the geography or the demographics. At some point there’s not going to be anything of value left to fight for and that area will break down into autonomous ungoverned and ungovernable “self governing” regions, and I use the term governing lightly. I say America needs to stay home and let them butcher each other.  There’s no fixing this.

Canada and the U.S. will reach an agreement on trade because Canada has to, but it will take time. Canada is only a rich country because it has a neighbor that's far richer, but doesn’t need them, and they get that.

South Africa’s efforts to appropriate farms from white farmers without compensation has exposed the left for the hypocrites they are. Apparently Trump’s recognition of their actions has put a temporary halt to that policy, but in the real world these farmers are still being murdered and their land stolen by their murderers and the government is not only turning a blind eye to these crimes they’re actions show tacit approval. The white population of South Africa will have to fight or leave, and it looks as if they’re not being allowed to leave, and it’s clear, they won’t fight. The white population of S. Africa is doomed, and the left will dance in the streets with glee. I believe that will come back to haunt them.
