News and Views

By Rich Kozlovich

As usual I go through my watch list and add a lot of article links to my draft file... daily... and they do get out of hand so I create gazettes that not only act as informational sources, they create files that allow me, and anyone who wishes to do so, to track the history of the events, the people involved in those events, what the issues were all about, and the outcomes.   Good conclusions can only come about with good historical foundations.

Global warming has been the hot topic for years, and in spite of the vast amount of information showing it's a gigantic scientific hoax, and a fraud, the nitwits are still touting it.  John Kerry is among the foremost nitwits.   The nation dodged a bullet when this loon "reported for duty" to be President and wasn't elected.

The WEF is demanding people stop growing their food at home.....to stop global warming, because .... now get this..... professional agriculture has a smaller carbon footprint, and the "scientists" who were funded by WEF provided a study to prove it.  So who cares, the world stopped the small amount of warming that was occurring 25 years ago, and the carbon foot print has grown substantially all that time, so the carbon foot print must not matter.

Do these misfits really believe the things they're saying?  Now that the world is going to embrace AI and quantum computing it requires ....MASSIVE...amounts of energy !  Far beyond what we're producing now, and so far beyond what all these idiotic "alternative" environmentally destructive energy schemes are capable of producing.

Billionaire, Eric Schmidt, insisted because of global warming, we were  doomed.....doooomed I tell you....at least that was then.  But apparently that's not so true any more.  Amazing, and why is that?  He has now decided to abandon that profound moral outrage because he's become an arms dealer selling AI-powered drones to fight robotic wars, and AI, as stated, requires a lot of energy, and besides he notes by way of justification, “we’re not going to hit the climate goals anyway because we’re not organized to do it”, so apparently he wants to get all he can get right now, and no longer worries about his grandchildren.

And guess who's on board with him on that?  Mister (globalism is beautiful, all leftism is good and pure, reduce the world's population, eat bugs to save the world from global warming himself) Bill Gates.  Remarkable!   Conclusion? None of these misfits believe any of this claptrap.

Jack Smith, the federal prosecutor who isn't really a federal prosecutor is attempting to do an end run around the SCOTUS presidential immunity ruling, in a clear attempt to impact the outcome of the election.  And Democrats are demanding Alito's recusal for.... well... it really densest' matter for what, since it's the same old tune with the same kind of nitwits pushing the same kind of hypocritical reasoning.

Why do Americans fall for this stuff?  Kevin Finn posted this artilce, How does the Left do it?, listing 12 bullet points on just how destructive the Democrat party is to America, condluing by saying:

And despite all these things and more, some people still support them. How bad does it have to get? How badly must some people be made to suffer before they wake up?

As I've often said you can't reason people out of positions they've not been reasoned into, but they can be scared out of those positions. Then who do they turn to when they get scared? They turn to the Winston Churchill's of the world, the doers and fixers, versus the Neville Chamberlains, the go along to get along feel good guys that create these messes in the first place, and they're ubiquitous.

But once their fears have been ameliorated, what do they do? Just as quickly as possible they dump the doers and fixers for the go along to get along feel good nitwits that created the mess in the first place, and it starts all over again.

Take Arizona for instance. It's become so infested with former California residents who were feeling the taxes, regulations, crime, violence, and the gigantic mess leftists created there, and now they're turning Arizona into another California, a far left disaster just like the one they fled.

Kamala and Hillary were chosen to be the Presidential candidates for the Democrats and neither of them had any notable achievements.   Both came to power via the men they were involved with.  Hillary with Billy, and Kamala by sleeping with a much older married man who was a political power in California, and the question everyone should be asking is this.  Is their bench so lacking that's the best they can do? Answer? Yes, that's the best they can do.

Then we have the former governor of Maryland running for the Senate and when I did my Senate election analysis in February I gave that seat to the Republicans, but since then he's confirmed  he will  ‘absolutely’ vote to certify election results, with no questions asked, made it clear if Trump is elected he will fight Trump every step of the way, and told CNN's Dana Bash on Sunday that if elected, he would only vote for Supreme Court nominees who receive bipartisan support, regardless of who becomes the next president.  Which means only Democrat approved nominees.

I'm inclined to think a lot of Republicans may think it's better to have the adversaries outside the wall rather than inside, polluting the mind of their fellow Republicans, which in some cases won't take much.  I'm also convinced any conservatives living in Maryland will simply refuse to vote for this John McCain clone, just as conservatives refused to vote for McCain.  I've decided this seat will remain Democrat.

People are what they do, not what they say, and is it any wonder so when it comes to Pope Francis who made a gay rights advocate a Cardinal, many Catholics keep asking, "who picked this guy".

Think about this.  In the last few years the Democrats have picked three losers as their candidate for President. Hillary, an incompetent, vile unliked and unlikable human being as there ever was one, with no accomplishments other than being married to Bill, a true test of tolerance, Joe Biden who no one thought he was the brightest pebble in the brook, and Kamala, another unliked and unlikable mess who's biggest accomplishment was her political advancement which came about by sleeping with a politically powerful married man.

The question everyone should be asking is this.  Is their bench so empty that's the best they can do?  Answer?  Yes!

There's a lot of talk about Trump's tariffs versus free trade, and much of it's hyperbole with cries about the American consumer.  But we need to grasp this.  Everything is about "the basics" and understand there are outright economic reason to impose and dispose of tariffs. And there are outright political reasons to impose them or dispose of them. If Richard Nixon hadn't opened up China to world trade the economic mess created by Mao as a result of his "cultural revolution" would have most likely sunk the CCP.

When Kissinger went to China and was sitting with Mao and Zhou Enlai, Mao's head butcher, Kissinger said the nice thing about all this is we don't want anything from each other. Mao said if I didn't want something from you, I wouldn't have invited you, and if you didn't want something from me, you shouldn't have come. I was never impressed with Kissinger, the Tallyrand of the 20th century, and what Mao wanted was to save himself and the CCP at the civilized world's expense.

It's time to reimpose those economic conditions on China, Russia, Iran, and any nation that proves to be a threat to civilization, and stop funding their military and economic efforts to destroy us. Trade agreements are about what's good for America's economy, and that doesn't necessarily mean it should be good for American multinational corporations, who on the best of days are leaky vessels as allies, and would sell the nation down the river for a good quarterly report, leading to bankruptcy and/or conquest.  Neither is good for the American consumer.

These kind of policies require something on the order of Col. John Boyd's strategic military concept, OODA loop. Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act. Which means paying attention and making whatever adjustments are necessary as circumstances change in order to attain necessary goals. It should be a matter of hard goals combined with flexible strategy.  I would be far more worried about regulations, which drive up prices, which drive up costs, which drives up wages, and creates larger more oppressive government.  Add outrageous spending and all this becomes a vanguard to dystopia.

And what's Kamala's solution?  Equality of outcome!

The competent to high achievers lose their incentive to produce at above average levels. Many will grow discouraged, put forth less effort, and slide into mediocrity -- or worse. And the "loafers" learn that they will be rewarded over and above what they earn. They will see no need to improve......Productivity and quality workmanship drops, the economy tanks, and the living standards for most of us "go down with the ship." Alas, there are reasons why state-controlled socialist or communist economies with equality of outcome as a goal are inferior to those in the relatively free market West, which while imperfect, still has substantially more respect for (and realization of) equality of opportunity.

I owned a pest control company for many years, and was involved in my industry's affairs, and even the nation's trade associations are pushing this DEI insanity, losing sight of the mission for which they were created. I said this a long time ago, and it's as true today as it was then:

"Diversity without accomplishment is philosophy without form and incompetence without consequence".

The Inevitability Factor: When Reality Reaches It's Apex! - America isn't perfect, but America has never offered perfection.  What America offered, with all our historical warts and moles, is the most acceptable imperfection.  As a result American republican democratic capitalism brought more people out of misery and suffering than any system in the history of the world.

That's a foundational truth!

One thing is clear as a bell, Netanyahu gets it, and he always did, it just took this vile October 7th attack for force everyone else in Israel to get it, and Netanyahu was right to rebuke France’s Macron.

If you saw the Mel Gibson movie, The Patriot", you'll remember in one scene when discussing France's aid to the revolution, his character snorts in disgust saying, "the French", and I laughed when he did that. Let's try and get this about the French using this illustration.

"Once you drop a hammer in a gravity field (positive meaning it pulls downwards), you instantly know it is falling towards the ground, even before it actually hits, because the force of gravity is acting on it and pulling it down, regardless of whether you see it land or not; the act of releasing it is enough to confirm its descent."

People's character is defined by their history, and can be just as definitive as the effect of gravity, and French history is replete with actions that give more than enough reason not to trust anything they say or agree to.  Trusting the French is like believing the tooth fairy really leaves money under your pillow.

That's especially so since France is now so heavily infested with Muslims the city of Lyon has a 30 percent Muslim population, and the French are bending to that population's demand they accept sharia ..... or else... and they're doing so out of fear, and Macron is doing little about it.

Macron is intellectually vacuous, since it appears he refuses to see that Israels is the canary in the coal mine, and France will be among their next victims. Or.... maybe he just want's stay in power and will happily sell Israel and France down the river to do so, but once Muslims take over, he will be lucky to survive.

Once you turn monsters loose on society no one is safe, just like this former governor of NY was assaulted in Manhattan.

Finally,  Russian sentences 72-year-old American to nearly 7 years in prison for fighting in Ukraine. My first thought this was a set up, but it turns out he really was there fighting.  My second thought then was:  What in the world was that nitwit thinking?

Netanyahu Speaks to Congress, and Vice President Kamala is Missing

By Robin Itzler

On July 24, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a joint session of Congress. It wasn’t surprising that the Hamas wing of the Democrat party didn’t show up to hear his speech.

Okay, Hamas Representative Tlaib sat through the speech holding her ridiculous signs. But this meant Tlaib had to hear Netanyahu’s entire speech. :-)

You know who else didn’t show up? The Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris.

Communists such as Harris don’t like Israel. Harris said she had a scheduling conflict. Turns out she attended a black college sorority event. In a way, history is repeating itself. In 2015, when Netanyahu addressed Congress, then Vice President Joe Biden didn’t attend. We were also disappointed that Senator Vance, who supports Israel and is our vice presidential nominee, could not change his schedule to attend the speech.

Hamas still holds 120 hostages—eight of them are Americans. One-third are presumed dead, but the Biden/Harris administration doesn’t seem to give a damn. It’s not surprising considering the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that has left up to 1,000 Americans in the Taliban controlled nation along with $85 BILLION worth of American military equipment!

House Speaker Mike Johnson invited staunch Israel supporters and family members of the five remaining alive American hostages to hear Netanyahu’s address. The five American hostages are: Edan Alexander, Omer Neutra, Keith Siegel, Sagui Dekel-Chen and Hersh Goldberg-Polin.

Netanyahu Defends America Before Congress

Daniel Greenfield @ Sultan Knish Blog

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had come to D.C. to defend Israel’s war against Islamic terrorists, instead he ended up defending America in a city and Congress overrun with them.

Marxist and Jihadist mobs prowled the streets of D.C., tearing down and burning American flags, and putting up the terrorist flags of the PLO in their place. Hamas supporters openly waved the green flag of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist organization and even the black ‘battle flag’ used by ISIS and other Jihadists made an appearance in the capital of the United States.

The Columbus fountain outside Union Station was vandalized with the red triangles supporting Islamic terrorist attacks and “Hamas is Coming”. “Long live the intifada” was scrawled on the Freedom Bell. A courageous lone individual rushed to save an American flag being burned by a mob shouting “Allahu Akbar” which quickly gave chase. The Capitol Police, formerly so beloved by Democrats and media, battled more of the red-shirted radical thugs with no support.

“Allahu Akbar! Hamas!” a Muslim protester shouted. “We’re gonna kill all the Jews.”

Then in a few hours the insurrectionist mob that assaulted Capitol Police officers was set loose.

The message from the Biden administration and Democrats was once again that terrorist mobs could freely vandalize landmarks, threaten members of Congress and assault Capitol Police.

The White House offered no specific condemnation of the anti-American violence. Rep. Pelosi and many top Democrats instead blasted Netanyahu for refusing to surrender to Hamas. None of them spoke out against the hatred not only for Israel, but for the United States of America, for the calls to murder Jews and the chants for the destruction of America.

Inside the situation was no better. Kamala Harris, Rep. Nancy Pelosi and many top Democrats had decided to boycott Netanyahu’s speech. Those who attended offered little applause and sat scowling through much of the bipartisan address. A few behaved disruptively including Rep. Rashida Tlaib, a longtime terrorist supporter, who held up a protest sign during the speech.

It fell to Netanyahu to condemn the mobs who “burned American flags even on the fourth of July. And I wish to salute the fraternity brothers of the University of North Carolina who protected the American flag against these anti-Israel protesters.” Followed by chants of “USA, USA.”

It would not be the first or last time that chants of “USA” were heard during the address.

Netanyahu’s speech often sounded like a State of the Union address that no one was around to give anymore, praising America as “the guardian of Western civilization”, and urging that “for the forces of civilization to triumph, America and Israel must stand together.” He invoked Pearl Harbor and 9/11 and condemned the failures of colleges to teach basic values.

Netanyahu described clarity as “knowing the difference between good and evil.” He denounced those protesters who “stand with evil, they stand with rapists and murderers” who found babies hidden in an attic and murdered them. While Speaker Mike Johnson stood up to applaud, the ranking Democrat, Sen. Ben Cardin applauded lightly but remained seated .

“Some of these protesters hold up signs saying: ‘Gays for Gaza’ they might as well hold signs saying ‘Chickens for KFC’”, Netanyahu said. Cardin did not applaud that one. Few Dems did.

With rescued hostages and hostage families in attendance, he described the Hamas atrocities of Oct 7 when “these monsters raped women, beheaded men, burned babies alive, they killed parents in front of their children and children in front of their parents, they dragged 255 people, both living and dead, into to the dark dungeons of Gaza.”

Meanwhile Rep. Jerry Nadler boasted that he was “trolling” Netanyahu by reading a book.

“We also have families with American hostages here,” Netanyahu said, while Kamala was off attending a sorority event, and some 70 Democrats were officially boycotting the speech.

He introduced Avichai Reuven, an Ethiopian Israeli soldier who ran 8 miles during the Oct 7 attacks, killed terrorists and saved lives, and three other heroes of the fight against Hamas, two of whom had lost limbs. “These are the soldiers of Israel, unbowed, undaunted and unafraid.”

Democrats like Pelosi and Nadler, along with Kamala, Schumer and many others demand that they be daunted and surrender to Hamas. They are doing the dirty work for Hamas and Iran.

Recently, as Front Page Magazine reported, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines admitted that Iran was financing some of the pro-terrorist protesters. Netanyahu suggested that could include the Hamas riots outside and called them “useful idiots” for Iran. He described Ayatollah Khomeini’s promise to “export the revolution to the entire world.”

America stands in the way of Iran’s plan to impose Islam on the world, he argued.

“That’s why Iran sees America as its greatest enemy.” He quoted a Hezbollah terrorist official who said that, “the real war is with America.” Iran had sent “death squads” to kill Americans, including Trump administration officials and even “brazenly threatened to assassinate former President Trump.”

“Iran realizes that to challenge America, it must first conquer the Middle East… but Israel stands in its way. That’s why the mobs in Tehran chant ‘Death to Israel’ before ‘Death to America.’”

Netanyahu laid out a compelling case for Israel as the barrier to Islamic expansionism. And for America to support Israel so that it doesn’t have to put boots on the ground in the Middle East.

But he was also speaking to a very different Washington D.C. than when he first spoke in 1996.

The idea of America as “the guardian of Western civilization” would now be outright offensive to the average Democrat. As is the idea of fighting Islamic terrorism instead of surrendering to it.

But in a Washington D.C. where Islamic terrorist flags are freely waved and Jihadist graffiti is scrawled across national monuments, that may no longer be so. The nation’s capital, under Biden and Kamala, is no longer the “guardian” of anything except pork and privilege.

Rather than defending Israel in D.C., Netanyahu was tasked with defending America, making the case for it as a great nation and a force for good even while members of Congress, congressional staffers, wealthy brats and Islamic terrorists made their stand for evil.

Israel lacks support in D.C. not just because the left is antisemitic, but because it hates America. And a movement that hates America cannot be expected to love Israel or support civilization.

Netanyahu was the product of a better America. When he left in the sixties to fight for Israel, he had imbibed the best of this nation in his time here. Yet each time he returned America had grown worse. Had he jeered America, denounced it as a racist, capitalist and imperialist enterprise, many of the Democrats who boycotted the speech would have come and cheered.

This was a speech meant to remind Americans of what Israel and we are fighting for. But despite his eloquence, the red and green mobs outside waving terrorist flags, chanting “Allahu Akbar” and burning American flags did that better than even the greatest speech ever could.

No matter how many lies the media put out there, the choices are painfully clear.

One of the protesters, the sorts of people whom Kamala described as “showing exactly what the human emotion should be”, stood holding a sign reading “Allah is gathering all the Zionists for the ‘Final Solution’ with a nuclear mushroom cloud overhead.” In his other hand, he waved the black battle flag of the Caliphate with its call for imposing Allah and Islam on America.

The choice between good and evil is all too clear. All that remains is to make it.

Biden’s Coup in Israel

April 04, 2023 @ Sultan Knish Blog

In the early days of March, a small crowd of leftists gathered outside the U.S. consulate in Tel Aviv holding up signs reading, “Biden help!” and “Biden, Blinken, Our democracy is sinking”.

A speaker at the rally appealed to Biden to “save us from ourselves”.

The consulate rally was held under the banner of “Defend Israeli Democracy” which had organized international protests against democratic judicial reform that would have restored checks and balances. International rallies, including one in Berlin which featured women dressed as the ‘handmaids’ from the TV show and signs accusing Israel of “fascism” and being an “apartheid state”, were not speaking to Israelis, but to the international anti-Israel Left.

Clips from the Tel Aviv rally were remixed by another of the interchangeable anti-democracy groups, Yalla Tikva, urging Biden to save Israeli democracy. The operation was as slick with professional videography, editing and branding as it lacked a clear transparent structure.

Protests like these were not so much appealing to Biden as coordinating with the administration.

The anti-democracy rallies by organizations claiming to be fighting for democracy paralleled an unprecedented degree of interference from the Biden administration.

“We don’t want to interfere,” Biden told reporters after Israel had surrendered on reforming the judiciary. “Anyway, we’re not interfering.”

“They cannot continue down this road,” he warned.

On Monday morning, Biden’s ambassador delivered an ultimatum to Netanyahu ordering him to stop the reforms. Later that day, Netanyahu officially announced a pause on judicial reform.

This followed public statements from every Biden administration official, including Secretary of Defense Austin, warning Israel not to proceed and urging the democratically elected government to turn over the process to its political opponent: leftist figurehead Herzog who had served as Marc Rich’s lawyer when negotiating a pardon with the Clinton administration.

Why was the Biden administration so obsessed with internal questions such as who picked Israeli Supreme Court justices and whether they could ever be overruled by the legislature?

While the leftist rioters in the streets clamored that they were fighting for democracy, the Supreme Court is the least democratic institution and the mobs were demanding that it stay that way. None of the American media outlets or politicians accusing the Israeli government of threatening democracy ever got around to explaining why elected officials selecting justices is a good thing in America and a bad thing in Israel. As Ruth Wisse, the greatest living Jewish academic, pointed out in the Wall Street Journal, some of the same advocates of weakening the United States Supreme Court violently denounced efforts to check the power of Israel’s court.

The Israeli Supreme Court is mostly immune to democratic influences like elections, and is not governed by a constitution, but derives its power from claiming unlimited standing to take on any cases it likes. But to trigger this superpower, it needs nonprofit groups to bring cases to it. These nonprofits are primarily funded by foreign interests from George Soros, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Tides Center to foreign governments in the European Union and America.

How it works is simple enough. A leftist nonprofit funded by a foreign government sets out to stop a policy by a democratically elected government. Even though it is in no way affected by a policy, such as building homes in Judea or cracking down on terrorism, it sues anyway. And even though it lacks any standing, the Supreme Court takes the case anyway and rules for it.

The actual case however was really brought by Soros or the EU or D.C. The Israeli Supreme Court acts as a rubber stamp for rule by foreign governments through leftist groups.

While a lot of the online protest groups conducting anti-democracy rallies were unknown, the larger Israeli rallies were led by the Movement for Quality Government. MQG is a serial plaintiff which repeatedly brings cases to the Supreme Court. In 2020, MQG hired a D.C. law firm to investigate Netanyahu. That same year, MQG began getting money from the State Department.

State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel claimed that this was false because MQG “received a modest grant from the State Department that was initiated during the previous administration” meant to promote civics in schools.

“Any notion that we are propping up or supporting these protests or the initiators of them is completely and demonstrably false,” Patel fumed.

But money is fungible and the State Department was well aware that MQG’s primary field of activity was lawfare. The plague of leftist nonprofits funded by foreign governments is an old problem that predates this administration. And touching it is the real red line.

In 2016, there was outrage when the Israeli legislature passed a law requiring nonprofits to disclose foreign funding. Even though the government bureaucracy refused to enforce the law, it nonetheless resulted in MGQ disclosing its funding from the State Department.

The State Department had claimed then that asking nonprofits to reveal foreign funding would “have a chilling effect on the activities that these worthwhile organizations are trying to do”.

Examples of such worthwhile activities had included the State Department funding a previous protest campaign against Netanyahu in 2015 using a “peacebuilding” nonprofit named One Voice.

In 2021, Israel cracked down on six nonprofits tied to terrorist organizations. The State Department warned, “we will be engaging our Israeli partners for more information regarding the basis for the designation. We believe respect for human rights, fundamental freedoms and a strong civil society are critically important to responsible and responsive governance.”

The pattern is not difficult to spot.

The Biden administration, the EU and other leftist foreign governments use nonprofits and the legal system to control Israeli policy. When those tools of control are threatened, they step in.

The Obama and Biden administrations had fumed when Israel began forcing nonprofits to follow the law, but judicial reform was a line in the sand. Had judicial reform passed, democracy would have come to Israel. And a bunch of leftist governments couldn’t have used their puppets to overrule the will of the people. That was why they did everything they could to stop it.

What the media portrayed as organic protests were nothing of the kind. They were often backed and organized by tech companies. Some of those same companies, to protest judicial reform, announced that they were pulling their money out of Israel and sending them to SVB. The collapse of the bank, closely associated with leftist interests in the United States, was only a brief inconvenience since the Biden administration rushed to bail out its depositors.

Israeli startups draw on investments from American companies and investors: many of them close to the Biden administration. The SVB connection, a clearinghouse for woke capital, just spelled out the obvious. The coup against democracy was backed by foreign interests and implemented by the billionaires, who control much of the Israeli media, and leftist activists who are employed by nonprofits funded by foreign governments and foundations.

Political consultants rushed to brand the coup as a “democracy” movement even though there’s nothing less democratic than protecting an undemocratic institution from democratic change.

The Biden administration, which had been in on it all along, pushed for a “compromise” from Marc Rich’s former lawyer that would have kept the Left in power even while denying what it was doing, or that judicial reform was shut down after a Biden ultimatum.

Prime Minister Netanyahu backed down, as he often has, but the confrontation was revealing because the puppet masters were forced to show their hand. American Jews were largely fooled by the media’s propaganda campaign, but Israelis saw all too clearly who the activists and, more importantly, the Supreme Court really works for and whose power it serves.

The Israeli Left has consistently lost elections while clinging to power through undemocratic institutions like the Supreme Court and fake third parties. It’s fighting a war on democracy that it’s bound to lose. The ‘handmaids’ marching in Berlin and the radicals holding up posters accusing Israel of fascism in Hitler’s city have shown Israelis what they really are.

The greatest threat to democracy in Israel has always come from the Left. What was once a domestic oligarchy has evolved into a puppet regime. And the Israeli Zionists have learned that they can expose the puppet masters by pulling on the puppets and seeing who comes for them.

“Biden help!”, “Biden, Blinken, Our democracy is sinking”, “save us from ourselves”.

Netanyahu’s Apposite Response to IAEA Chief Rafael Grossi

Mar 7, 2023 By 2 Comments

Rafael Grossi is the Director of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). As such, he’s been in charge of keeping tabs on Iran’s nuclear program in order to prevent Iran from producing nuclear weapons. On Grossi’s watch, the IAEA has been given the runaround. Iran has ruled some sites off-limits to IAEA inspectors. It has also failed to explain to the IAEA the appearance of uranium particles at several sites where there was not supposed to be any enrichment work going on. Iran has managed to keep enriching uranium, without the IAEA becoming aware until it was too late. The quarterly report of the IAEA put out this February has now confirmed that Iran has enriched uranium to a near-weapons-grade level of 84%. Just with the stockpile it now has of 60% enriched uranium, Iran can produce enough weapons-grade (90% enriched) uranium for a nuclear weapon in 12 days. And this all happened on Grossi’s watch..............To Read More....

The Dark Money Trail of Opponents to Israel’s Judicial Reform

March 5, 2023 By Adina Kutnicki

My devastating indictmentOn the Brink of Judicial Reform, Israel's Leftists Grow Panicked” has a new development. A mere two weeks ago, the stoked chaos between right and left was only incendiary language — now, Israel’s leftists have turned angry demonstrations into a physical onslaught. The tensions accelerated much more rapidly than anticipated. A mild understatement. Indubitably, the left is out for blood. Excerpted from the above-mentioned analysis:

But in order to fully comprehend the urgency of the absolute upheaval in Israel, a brief backgrounder is in order, as per the history, the make-up, and the impending shake-up of the Supreme Court. Revolutionary.

Most significantly, for all intents and purposes, the Supreme Court in Israel operates as an oligarchy: a self-selecting/self-perpetuating fiefdom of like-minded, leftist ideologues who reflexively rule against the conservative government. Foxes guarding the hen-house.

…the frenzied and hostile response to the proposed reforms is a direct result of the terror these leftists feel in their hearts. Righting the ship of State will vitiate their long-held, vise-grip on power and control — and they know it.

Alas, as always, akin to clockwork...like night follows day...with the speed of a bullet-train, too, no sooner did the aforementioned prognostication commence its journey (as par for the course, when ricocheting around the internet), domestic-laden fireworks exploded. That fast. Wait and see...............To Read More....

Biden Administration Funds Anti-Netanyahu Coup

February 22, 2023 @ Sultan Knish Blog

Even while Israeli children were being murdered by terrorists, the only thing the media wanted to talk about were the leftist protests against the new Israeli government’s democratic judicial reforms. And the Biden administration has joined this campaign attacking the move.

Israel’s new conservative government under Prime Minister Netanyahu has finally initiated the long overdue process of restoring democratic checks and balances by limiting the unlimited power of Israel’s Supreme Court. And the Left has threatened everything up to civil war to protect its illegitimate power while its angry protests have been spun as grassroots opposition.

What none of the news reports, editorials, public letters by prominent figures or statements by officials have revealed is that the Biden administration is funding the group behind the protests.

As David Isaac at JNS reported, the first major rally against democratic judicial reform attended by leftist opposition politicians was organized by a group known as the Movement for Quality Government. MQG receives annual funding from the State Department to purportedly conduct “classes” on democracy in Israeli schools. The State Department is well aware that MQG has a long history of waging lawfare against the Israeli government because its work has been cited in its “human rights” reports. While State Department funding was not programmed for protests, money is fungible and the Biden administration knows it’s funding an anti-Netanyahu group.

“The speakers at the rallies stand under the MQG banner when they call for insurgency, civil war and violence,” prominent Israeli journalist Caroline Glick wrote. “No one is asking the organizers who finances their activities. Someone is paying tens of millions of shekels to rent buses to transport scores of thousands of people to rallies, buy them flags, print banners and signs, rent stages and sound systems, and finance ad campaigns in every newspaper and on billboards across the country.”

MQG’s obsession with stopping the return of a Zionist government was so extreme that it generated a FARA registration by hiring a Washington D.C. law firm to for the “initiation of investigation of by one or more US government agencies” to look into ridiculous leftist smears that Netanyahu was having his laundry washed for free by the Trump administration.

(This may seem surreal, but the Israeli Left’s Netanyahu Derangement Syndrome is so extreme that one of its fake government investigations focused on his wife’s bottle recycling. The fake scandals invented by the Left were even referenced in a hilarious Netanyahu campaign ad.)

The Biden administration’s funding of MQG (a practice which technically began in 2020 under Trump, the year when the FARA registration happened) continued even as the group amped up its lawfare. The Obama administration had helped back the 2011 social justice protests in Israel, in which MQG was involved, that were widely seen as a rehearsal for Occupy Wall Street.

But MQG is a lot more than just an opposition group and its presence pulls back the curtain on the struggle to restore democracy and the motives of those opposed to it in Tel Aviv and D.C.

A leading criticism of the abusive power of the Israeli Supreme Court is that it hears cases based on lawsuits from groups like MQG without any standing. This has allowed the Court, which recognizes no limitations on its powers, to intervene in anything. Once MQG generates a case, the Supreme Court can then step in. MQG is not just an opposition group, it’s a key piece of the illegitimate infrastructure that has replaced democracy with a totalitarian judiciary.

An example of the authoritarian intertwining of MQG and the Supreme Court came when the leftist group filed a petition demanding the removal of the head of the Israeli Bar Association because of “his criticisms of the court.” If MQG opposes even any criticisms of the source of its power, it certainly is not about to accept democratic efforts to return that power to the people.

“From the Knesset I don’t expect anything,” Eliad Shraga, MQG’s boss, said dismissively of the democratically elected legislature at a protest against judicial reform. “The only help will come from the heroes in the Supreme Court.”

The Israeli Supreme Court gets its ability to intervene in any matter from MQG. And MQG gets funding from the Biden administration. It’s not hard to see why the Biden administration is opposed to democratic reforms that would impose checks on the power of MQG and the Court. Much as American leftists have opposed forcing NGOs like it to disclose sources of foreign funding. And it’s a good thing because otherwise we might not know who pulls their strings.

Israelis have long been concerned about the ability of foreign organizations, like those funded by Soros and foreign governments, to set the agenda no matter what the voters decide.

Democratic judicial reform is crucial to ending those abuses and that’s why Biden is so opposed.

While the Biden administration has often criticized Israel over its fight against Islamic terrorists, it took the unusual step of intervening in its domestic politics by attacking judicial reform.

Biden warned that Israeli democracy requires “checks and balances” from “an independent judiciary” and urged “building consensus for fundamental changes”.

During his recent visit to Israel, Secretary of State Blinken met with Isaac Herzog, a former leftist candidate currently serving as president, to bond over their mutual hate for democracy.

Blinken replied to Herzog’s urging to intervene by praising, “the clarity of your voice when it comes to finding a good way forward that builds consensus on the question of judicial reform.”

The rhetoric was part of a leftist push to kill judicial reform by taking it away from the parties chosen by the voters and handing it to Herzog: another unelected official. The Biden administration, the media and assorted officials claim that turning over judicial reform to Herzog will be a compromise that will provide a unifying consensus and end the protests.

“They want to destroy the system because the system wasn’t nice to them,” Shraga had ranted to the Washington Post while attacking judicial reform. “This is a hostile takeover by a bunch of crooks.”

A hostile takeover of Israel by a bunch of crooks is what judicial reform opponents are after.

Blinken and Herzog would have some potential common ground dating back to the Clinton administration. Before Herzog was the Labor Party’s candidate to run Israel, he was serving as Marc Rich’s lawyer. The international fugitive lobbied for a pardon from Bill Clinton through Herzog who met with at least one State Department figure. It’s not hard to imagine Herzog and Blinken conferring over a deal for the criminal who violated the embargo to buy oil from Iran.

Now that’s some real dirty laundry.

Herzog, who collected leftist scumbag criminals, also worked for another international fugitive, Octav Botnar. Herzog served as the trustee for Botnar’s estate while millions were funneled through it to fund anti-Netanyahu ads by an associate of top Democrat campaign pros like James Carville. Good thing there was that investigation of Netanyahu’s ice cream budget.

Why does the Biden administration want Marc Rich’s errand boy to oversee judicial reform?

There’s a long trail of corrupt connections between America’s Left and Israel’s Left rooted in the Clinton era. This “hostile takeover by a bunch of crooks” has wrecked both countries. And now the crooks are afraid, they’re sweating and screaming in the streets, they’re paying formerly respectable people to pen editorials attacking judicial reform, and some people are falling for it.

Everything that they’re saying is the opposite of the truth.

Judicial reform is not a threat to democracy: it’s the sole hope for restoring democracy. It would not usher in tyranny, but eliminate it. And the protest movement against it is every bit as authentic as the last astroturfed protests that were also meant to force out Netanyahu.

The Biden administration, like the Obama administration, is trying to undermine Israeli democracy while preserving the power of its leftist allies to impose their coup.

Daniel Greenfield Unleashed

China Backed Trudeau“The Liberal Party of Canada is becoming the only party that the PRC can support.” - It figures that a politician who tried to pull off his own Tiananmen Square would have backing from Beijing. This is not a conspiracy theory, it’s the kind of evidence that Democrats often claimed that they had involving Trump and Russia, but didn’t, and that actually exists and was being kept top secret involving Trudeau and China. The full extent of the Chinese interference operation is laid bare in both secret and top-secret Canadian Security Intelligence Service documents…How explicit are we talking here?

Ben Crump to Sue Everyone Except Nation of Islam for Killing Malcolm X "Why are they threatening your life?"-  Ben Crump is running out of dead criminals to sue cities over. After briefly trying to shake down Sesame Street (for shame), Crump is getting in his time machine and suing everyone else over the death of Malcolm X...........Since black nationalists continue to blame the CIA or James Bond for killing Malcolm X, instead of their own, let’s recap. The Nation of Islam has a long history of critics and dissenters being killed................

After Wife and Congress Went There, Biden Visits Ukraine - The media is myth making again...........A parade of world leaders had already visited Ukraine Ex-UK PM Boris Johnson went three times. French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi arrived in Kyiv came last June. Others included Canada’s Justin Trudeau and the EU’s Ursula von der Leyen.  Nancy Pelosi, Mitch McConnell and even Jill Biden all made “secret” visits already........

A National Divorce Isn’t Happening, It's like asking a mugger to stop beating you and split the contents of your wallet - The idea of a national divorce is gaining currency among some on the right. The appeal is as obvious as it is completely unrealistic. Getting a national divorce from the Left is like asking a mugger to stop beating you and just agree to split the contents of your wallet. It’s appeasement from a position of weakness and that never works.  The Left isn’t into compromise. It wants total victory and it holds most of the good cards. It didn’t get into this to settle for New York and California, or for that matter America. Making any kind of deal with it is a delusion and entirely unfeasible. The national division isn’t between red and blue states, but between urban and some suburban areas, and everything else. A national divorce between urban and rural areas would only be workable as some sort of libertarian fever dream in which both sides form federations and sign complex treaties..........

Biden Administration Funds Anti-Netanyahu Protest Group -  Even while Israeli children were being murdered by terrorists, the only thing the media wanted to talk about were the leftist protests against the new Israeli government’s democratic judicial reforms. What none of the news reports, editorials, public letters by prominent figures or statements by officials have revealed is that the Biden administration is funding the group behind the protests.........

There's No Unity With Islam, Nor is There Any In Islam

  By Rich Kozlovich

I recently read Matti Friedman's commentary Eight Thoughts on Israel’s Political Crisis which appeared on the Tablet Magazine website, and I came away wondering what planet he's living on. It seems to me this piece is classic example of cognitive dissonance, believing two diametrically opposing things at the same time and believing both are correct.

On one hand he recognized the folly of the Oslo Accords and acknowledges the world wide conspiracy against Israel, all promoted by leftists, he then promotes a philosophy of appeasement and weakness, all of which has failed.  He claims:

Benjamin Netanyahu’s radical new government, demonstrate that the political system is unable to offer a way for citizens to make progress together, or any kind of unifying vision that makes sense to a majority of people here.  The feeling in the country at the moment, and not just on the center and left, is that the political system has finally managed to shatter something important in the bond that has always somehow held the country’s parts together, paying (most of our) taxes and (mostly) serving in the army, despite policies that we might have seen as too right wing or too left wing or just ill-considered.

Bibi lacks a "unifying vision"?  Imagine that. He goes on the say:

The winners of this election, the Netanyahu loyalists and sectoral allies who’ve attached themselves to his star, believe themselves to be at war with the losers. “It’s time for the left to get used to the new reality: We don’t care what you think anymore,” one Likud lawmaker tweeted, summing up the general atmosphere. “The left” here includes nearly half of the population that didn’t vote for this coalition, many Israelis who define themselves as right wing, the people who pay most of the country’s taxes and provide most of our soldiers, and a party led by two former army chiefs of staff appointed by Netanyahu. In rhetoric and legislation, the new government is making clear that it’s not out for unity, but for revenge.

Is it revenge Netanyahu's government is seeking, or is it or justice?  The Israeli justice system, media and bureaucracy are filled with corrupt leftists, much like America, and this author apparently thinks crushing them violates his definition of "unity", which of course makes one wonder just how can one have "unity" with people who absolutley hate you and will do anything they can, no matter how corrupt, to destroy you?

I have no doubt he thinks that when Netanyahu defended himself against corrupt prosecutors that was destructive to the creation of national "unity", or at least his vision of "unity", which is my view of disharmony, discord, and stupidity.  So, let's take a look at this lack of "unity" he's so worried about, because while all that may sound great on the surface, it seems to me he has no idea what he's talking about.  I wonder if he ever looked up the definition for "unity" in the dictionary?

In my article, Anyone But Netanyahu! What Could Possibly Go Wrong?, I note regarding the government Netanyahu is replacing:

Here's the real thrust of this newly formed three party "government".  A commitment to backing a non-Netanyahu government.  And then there's the ten other political factions in Israel, thirteen in all.  Factions, as far as I can tell, there are a bunch of political parties in and out of the Knesset!  But it gets worse.  There are 149 minor political parties in Israel.

If these two sites are accurate there could be over 200 political parties in Israel.  I recommend following the two links as I can't really make heads or tails of this mess, and I wonder if the Israelis can.   If my assumptions are correct, in a country with only nine million people that means there's a political party for every 45,000 people.

As in the Canada Free Press, Israel's dysfunctional government cannot survive, and it didn't.

Now, that's the "unity" government the Netanyahu government is replacing?  Now, all of a sudden this writer is concerned about "unity"?  That's a red herring fallacy if there ever was one.  What part of that is so hard to get?

The left is now, and have always been, the provocateurs, and the enemy of mankind, and it's high time everyone.....and I mean everyone....stopped caring what they think, stop catering to them, stopped appeasing them, and started crushing them, and in Israel, (and unfortunately to a large extent also in America) that includes the judiciary, the bureaucracy, the media and all the leftists in the nation.

The left is not only absolutely wrong about everything, the . How much history has to play out before everyone grasps that fundamental truth?  How many hundreds of millions must suffer and die before their evil is accepted as absolute and incontestable history?

Just because with their rhetoric they keep turning themselves into angels of light, doesn't alter the fact in reality they're devils of darkness, and enablers of lies.   To be a leftist is to be irrational, misanthropic and morally defective, going right back to the French Revolution.

That's history and that history is incontestable.

Israel can never be true friends with Muslims, and the reason why is simple.   Just like the left, Islam is now and has always been  always been, the provocateurs, and the enemy of mankind, and it's high time everyone understand, Muslims will always hate Jews, and I would think 1400 years of vile Islamic history would be proof of that.  Rape and slavery has been Islam’s true 'cultural exchange' with the west.

I highly recommend reading Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West by Raymond Ibrahim.  History shows the five real pillars of Islam are greed, envy, lust, hate and violence.  That was true 1400 years ago, and it has remained true up until today, and it will be remain true as long as Islam exists. Everything else is a lie.

That's history that history is incontestable.

Any deal with them has to be transitory because as soon as is possible, and advantageous to Muslims, they will not only renege on the deal, they will work to destroy Israel, and that's foundational Islamic teaching for dealing with non-Muslims, and heretics.   That's why Jefferson had to finally attack and defeat Barbary Pirates.  Because that's what works.

No deal with Muslims will be honored by Muslims.  Which is based on Islamic teaching.  And that includes deals with other Muslim groups since each sect claims all the others are heretics, and Islamic law requires death for heretics.  And he thinks there's a common ground to be found between Islam and Israel?  The only thing they respect is power, and the willingness to use it.

Islam isn't a religion, it's a criminal, political movement masquerading as a religion.  Ask the Swedes how well things are working with their Muslim immigrant population?   The fact is Islam means submission, and they really mean it!   There can never be any "unity" with Islam, nor is there any "unity" in Islam. Islamic harmony is an illusion.

And this writer thinks Netanyahu and his "radical" government has a "unity" problem?  Imagine that! Well, that settles it, he definately never looked up the definition for "unity" in the dictionary?

And as for leftists:  They can't be true friends with anyone either.  There are no boundaries on the left.  Nothing is ever enough and they share the same moral foundation as Islamists.  Hate, greed, envy, lust, violence and the desire to tyrannously control all the lives of everyone around them, and do it violently.

That's 230 years of history, and that history is also incontestable.

The fact Tablet Magazine published this foolish piece makes me wonder if any of the rest of them are from this planet.  Why is it so hard for so many to understand, or at the very least, accept Islam will attack Jews, Christians, western civilization in any way that works, including using " Stealth Jihad".

Muslims and their supports refer to Israel as “occupied Palestinian territory” because of the folly of the Oslo Accords which gave the Palestinians autonomy over areas in Israel, and it's long overdue for “Israel to terminate the Oslo Accords", which they can do if they have the backbone. This worldwide effort to embrace "multicultural" posturing and excuse making for the actions of Islamists is absolute suicide for Israel.

These lands are not Palestinian lands, there has never been a nation of Palestine, Jews are not illegal occupiers, and all this multiculturalism clabber as "unity" is suicide.

The Fall of the Israeli Left

November 07, 2022

The last time that Israel had a prime minister from the Labor Party was over twenty years ago. Most military recruits were not even born or were in diapers the last time a member of the leftist socialist movement that had ruled the country in a virtually unbroken life of succession for a generation from Ben Gurion to Rabin last headed the country.

The news is even worse now with Labor, which once dominated the legislature of the Knesset, receiving only 4 seats making it the smallest party, below the Muslim Brotherhood’s Ra’am and the Arab Communist Hadash-Ta’al, not to mention the Jewish religious parties and the parties of Middle Eastern and Russian immigrants.

The last time this happened, Caroline Glick’s Latma, with hilarious cruelty, mocked the Labor Party for having more letters in its name than Knesset seats. “Hello, I would like to request a taxi for the entire Labor Party.” “Don’t bury us, there aren’t enough of us for a minyan.”

As badly as Labor did, Meretz performed even worse, failing to meet the legislative threshold. For the first time in a generation, the radical leftist party won’t even make it into the Knesset.

The parties of the Jewish Left, if you can even call them that, are down to 4 out of 120 seats.

The Left has become unelectable so it disguises itself in a rotating series of fake centrist parties, the latest of which is Yair Lapid’s ‘Yesh Atid’ whose function is to trick Israelis who would never vote for Labor or Meretz into voting for the Left. And Yesh Atid picked up 24 Knesset seats.

Yair Lapid, a television celebrity and the son of a famous father, is Israel’s Trudeau, a convenient front for the same old gang to run things while he mugs for the camera. He’s one of a line of retired generals and public figures fronting fake third parties who hold office only long enough for the public to realize that they didn’t vote for Labor, but got it anyway.

The electoral decline and fall of the Israeli Left was caused by two national revelations, the first was that Netanyahu’s free market economic policies, while not perfect, worked far better than Labor’s socialist monopolies, and that Labor’s signature policy, cutting a deal with the PLO was a murderous failure that threatened Israeli lives and the country on an unprecedented scale.

But the paradox of the Israeli Left is that it has virtually no electoral power, but nearly unlimited political power. There may not have been a Labor prime minister since 2001, but it still controls the machinery of officialdom from local bureaucrats to Supreme Court justices. Even while the media declares that the latest right-wing bogeyman is a “threat to democracy”, it is the civil servants, the prosecutors, judges, brass and administrators who actually run most things.

And who are the real threats to democracy.

There’s a reason Democrats often describe the Israeli Supreme Court with its unlimited power of judicial review and ability to override government decisions on everything from the macro to the micro, from where people can live to who should receive the Israeli Prize, as their model.

Beyond the upper echelons of the judiciary, prosecutors openly collaborate with the media and leftist activists to indict, prosecute and remove conservative, patriotic and Zionist elected officials. It was a bunch of these groundless prosecutions that forced Netanyahu out of office. To understand the Kafkaesque absurdity of the prosecutorial campaign against Netanyahu, it’s enough to mention that his wife was investigated over recycling bottle deposits.

To make sense of what’s going on though, you have to understand Israeli demographics.

While immigration moves the United States leftward, it moves Israel rightward. The conservative Likud’s base of support comes from the Middle Eastern Jewish immigrants who fled Muslim rule. The Russian immigrants, French and even Americans who move to Israel are not universally conservative, but tend to want governments that will protect them from Islamic terrorists.

The media is howling over the newfound influence of Itamar Ben-Gvir described as “far-right”, a “hateful extremist” and a “supremacist”. The Biden administration and Democrats have warned that they will have nothing to do with him and that Israel will alienate the United States.

What they don’t mention is that he’s the son of Iraqi Jewish immigrants.

Israel’s Left derives the majority of its support from the upper class elites of Tel Aviv who were part of the old socialist establishment. Israel’s Right leans heavily on the Middle Eastern and Russian immigrants whom they treated like dirt. They want a strong country and a weak bureaucracy. The old establishment Left wants a strong bureaucracy and a weak country.

Talk to members of that old establishment and you find that they are a small incestuous group. Israel is a small country, but in those circles, everyone really knows everyone else, they went to school with them, served with them, or lived next door to them. They feel that their country, with its cafes and kibbutzim, red flags and membership in an international socialist order, and the more intangible cultural elements, was stolen from them by these disgusting new arrivals.

They complain about the language, the manners, the religion, the superstition and the ugliness of the Haredim, the Middle Eastern and Russian Jews. Give them a few drinks and the rhetoric can turn truly ugly with stories of beating the religious and mistreating immigrants. It was in this vein that Yigal Tumarkin, an artist and co-founder of the anti-war Peace Now, descended from Nazis, wrote, “when I see Orthodox Jews, I understand the Nazis” and “my true contribution would be if I grabbed a sub-machine-gun, instead of a pen and pencil, and killed them.”

Tumarkin spoke for quite a few members of the old establishment who still have their cafes, but feel like they lost their country. Though they can’t win elections for long, they control the machinery of power. And paradoxically they see themselves as underdogs still fighting the ‘Right’ and the influx of immigrants who don’t know their place and have ruined everything.

In a small country, their hateful views are no secret. It’s why they can’t win elections.

Israel’s politics are a struggle between an emerging multicultural conservative majority and a supremacist European leftist minority holding on to power. It’s a mirror image of how American liberals see our politics and yet when given a choice, they side with the European minority.

In this struggle, the media, both theirs and ours, depicts coalitions of Middle Eastern Jewish refugees, Russian immigrants, and Orthodox Jews as if they were all interchangeable “right-wing extremists” while painting a leftist fringe that consists of upper class elites who all know each other and look like each other as the liberal tolerant heroes of tomorrow.

That reveals as much about our media and political elites as it does about the Israeli Left.

Democrats and the media never actually ask why Israelis seem to insist on electing so many conservatives and few lefties, or why Netanyahu broke Ben Gurion’s record for the longest consecutive term in office. Instead, we’re told that Israelis are supremacists and bigots. It’s a convenient projection by the real supremacists and bigots who are smearing Israel.

Why did the Israeli Right win while the Left lost? For all these reasons the media won’t discuss.

Decades of Islamic terror, failed socialist politics, corrupt monopolies, an abusive bureaucracy, and outright bigotry and discrimination of the ugliest kind somehow never come up in these conversations even though the majority of Israelis are painfully acquainted with all of them.

The Left lost badly in Israel. Our Left is terrified that they’re about to lose just as badly here.

Bibi’s Coming Back’ — Biden’s Staying Away

by Stan Goodenough | Topics: America, Benjamin Netanyahu

Amid swirling rumours about the return to power of Binyamin Netanyahu, US President Biden “postpones” a visit reportedly aimed at bringing Saudi Arabia into the Abraham Accords.

Biden and Bibi face off back in 2010, when the former was Vice President under Barack Obama. Photo: Miriam Alster/FLASH90

Less than a year after Naftali Bennett entered the Prime Minister’s Office, his epitaph of failure is being written by reporters nosing out the scent of his imminent demise.

And, rather remarkably, these same news hounds are prognosticating the “hated” Binyamin “Bibi” Netanyahu’s return at the head of a heavy-duty rightist government. It should be noted, though, that the people who most hate Netanyahu are the press, the prosecutor, the police leadership, and the anyone-but-Bibi politicians. The general electorate, decidedly, does not...........To Read More....

Netanyahu Gloats as Prosecution Stumbles: ‘In Your Face’

Joel B. Pollak

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gloated Monday as the prosecution in his corruption trial asked the court for permission to amend its indictment against him when a key witness backtracked on his earlier testimony against him. .....He faces three charges, which have been described by critics from the beginning as bogus, and as an apparent effort by Netanyahu’s political enemies in the Israeli legal fraternity to remove him from power.............Columnist Caroline Glick noted at the time that the charge was ridiculous, since the deal to approve a merger involving Bezeq was “approved by all the relevant legal and regulatory authorities” and that competitors received similar tax breaks. Bezeq actually lost money on the deal. Moreover, if Netanyahu had hoped for better coverage from Walla, he never received it: “Some 75 percent of the articles about him were negative,” as they were in much of the rest of the left-wing Israeli media.

The prosecution has since been clouded by revelations that state investigators unlawfully hacked Netanyahu’s phone and those of his associates in an effort to spy on him and use damaging personal information to turn witnesses against him.

Netanyahu has refused to accept any plea deals and has insisted on proving his innocence. The prosecution has stumbled as the post-Netanyahu government, a ragtag coalition led by former aide Naftali Bennet, has moved closer to internal collapse........To Read More....

'Long live Bibi, king of Israel!': Netanyahu makes bold prediction

'We're coming back soon'

By Joe Kovacs April 24, 2022

Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is confidently telling supporters he'll be returning to power in Jerusalem, and the change in government is not in the distant future.  "We're coming back soon," an energized Netanyahu said Saturday night, marking the end of Passover at a traditional Moroccan celebration called Mimouna.

"This year's holiday has a new flavor, the flavor of hope, a lot of hope,” Netanyahu said, according to the Times of Israel.  "I meet a lot of citizens who are full of hope, who are hoping and believing that we'll bring the Israeli government back on the right track, the secure track, the track that will promise security and attainment for all of Israel's citizens. This is a Mimouna of faith and hope, and we're coming back soon." ..........To Read More......

Anyone But Netanyahu! What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Part III

By Rich Kozlovich

So, you think America politics is complicated do you? Well, compared to Israel, American politics is a cake walk. And I find that's true of all these Parliamentarian style governments. They are, at least from an American point of view, complicated, compromised and unfocused.  They create governments out of coalitions with opposition parties, who get ministerial positions in the new government, and they have this crazy penchant for "Shadow Cabinets". Everybody has a say, and everybody says a lot, not usually in harmony.  Watch the British Parliament in action.  Insane!

Currently it appears, according to Geopolitical Futures:

"Israel's parliament is evenly split after a resignation stripped Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's government of its majority. The move raised concerns that the opposition is close to being able to dissolve the government."

And we're shocked why?

Idit Silman bolted to Netanyahu's group, and in spite of Bennett's claim she was being harassed by Netanyahu's party, this apparently is a popular move among a great many Israelis.  She says:

"she "could not take it anymore," and that she could not continue undermining the Jewish identity of the State of Israel, a reference to a disagreement she had with Health Minister Nitzan Horowitz over allowing chametz (leavened grain products) into hospitals over Passover.....[and she claimed] she was treated with disrespect".

This government was created as an "anyone but Bibi" government, but there was no one party that could get enough votes to form a government, so totally divergent groups came together to form a totally irrational government, that, irrespective of these various groups positions, as a government they functionally believe in nothing.   It was created to be one thing and one thing only:  An anti-Netanyahu government.  That's the only moral foundation they share.

On  Monday, June 7, 2021 I published,  Anyone But Netanyahu! What Could Possibly Go Wrong? quoting a piece from Geopolitical Futures:

Unseating Bibi: Israeli opposition parties reached a deal on Wednesday to form a government and unseat current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The coalition consists of Naftali Bennett’s Yamina party and Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid party as well as an Islamist party called the United Arab List led by Mansour Abbas. Under the agreement, Bennett would serve as prime minister for two years and then be replaced by Lapid. Israeli ambassadors to the United Arab Emirates  and Greece have already said bilateral relations will not be significantly affected by the change in government. This is a mess in the making as these three groups are at odds with each other’s goals, visions and views of what Israel is and what it should be.   Bennett is allegedly far right.  It seems to me that Lapid is a former journalist who is more leftist than centrist.  And Abbas is a liar, and the ruling arrangement is a formula for incoherence.

What could possibly go wrong?

On Thursday, July 8, 2021 I posted this piece, Anyone But Netanyahu! What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Part II  commenting about this new government's inability to pass as law as fundamental as a law that "prevents Arab-Israeli citizens from conferring their citizenship rights — e.g., obtaining a driver’s license or a legal job — on non-citizen spouses who once lived in the West Bank or Gaza............The law was passed in 2013 in response to the wave of bombings and murders that were occurring during the second intifada. It has been renewed annually ever since."

It was a tie vote.  Why didn't it pass? Because this ruling coalition is not in harmony philosophically, politically or morally. First, this is a government with a rotating President....three of them.  One claims he will do everything he can to make sure there is never a Palestinian state and the other two rotating partners in this government support a two states solution, and one is a former journalist and a Jew who hates the Orthodox Jews.  The other is an Arab.  Guess what he really believes.

And there's a second reason it didn't pass.   Netanyahu's party didn't vote for it!  Shocker? Bibi is in this to play hardball, and he's playing the long game to save Israel, all of which made this government look weak, foolish, incompetent and exposes them for not being able to generate enough votes to even assure the safety of Israel's citizens. I went on to say:

That exposed this coalition's inability to rule for Israel's best interests.  That exposure made all those who in government "deep state" positions and  media who railed against Netanyahu look foolish.  Netanyahu makes it clear, "toppling the government" is more important to Israel's long term interests.

Some may be aghast at this kind of irresponsible politics, but they've played hard ball with Netanyahu for years, with little concern as to what was good for the nation, as I attempt to show later.  Netanyahu sees the long term negative consequences to Israel for having such a "bizarre ruling coalition" in power.   This is a coalition that faces a "crisis of legitimacy with a Prime Minister whose party won only 6% of the vote".....and the party that won the most votes [was ] pushed out of office and into opposition."

There is only one moral foundation they share:  "Anyone but Netanyahu!" So that makes Bibi the opposition, and opposition it shall be.  It's hardball, and in hardball those curve balls are the pits.

You would think this would trigger new elections, however, according to RANE Worldview, of which Startfor is a part, this is what has to happen to trigger a new election.

  • First, if another member of this government bolts, they can dissolve the Knesset and demand a new election.
  • Second, under Israeli law they must pass a 2023 budget by December 31, 2022 or a new election must be held.

I've been waiting for this breakdown, and quite frankly, I'm surprised it's lasted this long, and now Israel will once again (they had four national elections in two years) have to go back to the voting booth early.  But now there are two factors.

  1. First, it must now be clear to Israelis no competent government can be formed by these incoherent coalitions.
  2. Secondly, does anyone really believe another "anyone but Netanyahu" coalition can now form again?  Creating that coalition was like open heart surgery without anesthetic.  It seems unlikely it will happen again.

So, to answer  to the question about this anti-Netanyahu government: What could go possibly go wrong?  Answer: Everything!

And you think American politics is complicated.
