Australia should vote 'no' on indigenous special rights referendum

Here in Australia, our politicians are promoting a divisive and racist change to our constitution by referendum - the creation of an indigenous "voice" with undefined powers. Voting is underway now. According to Reuters:

SYDNEY, Oct 3 (Reuters) - Support for a proposal to amend Australia's constitution to enshrine recognition of Indigenous people has edged higher, according to a poll published on Tuesday, although most voters intend to reject the change in a referendum now underway. Early voting on whether to recognise Indigenous Australians in the constitution and create a "Voice to Parliament" to give them an avenue to advise the government on matters affecting First Nations Australians began on Monday.

"Indigenous" means "born here,"so most of us are indigenous. And for all of us, our earliest Australian ancestors came from somewhere else. But these politicians are referring to the Australian aboriginal minority, who like all Australians, had ancestors from somewhere else, but are the oldest inhabitants on the continent. To divide indigenous Australians on the basis of skin color or length of ancestry is more about politics than about justice. Not Green at All

Green energy costs are large, obvious and measurable. The climate benefits are illusory.

“Green” policies are destroying the natural environment and changing local weather. This is part of a futile UN scheme claiming to improve the climate of the world.  All green energy degrades its environment. Take wind power.  Promoting more inland desertification is not green

Wind turbines steal energy from the atmosphere and must affect local weather. Turbines are always placed on the highest ground and along ridges to catch more wind. Natural hills already affect local weather by causing more rain along the ridge, and a rain shadow further downwind. Wind turbines enhance this rain shadow effect by robbing the wind of its ability to take moisture and rain into the drier interior. 

Promoting more inland desertification is not green. 

Climatists also plan to defend Australia with offshore wind turbines – using bird slicers to protect Australia from hang gliders, cruising pelicans, sea gulls, eagles and the occasional albatross.

Solar “farms” prefer large areas of flattish ground. They steal solar energy from all plant life in their solar shadow. This deprives wild and domestic herbivores of sustenance. Neither kangaroos, cattle, emus, parrots nor sheep thrive in solar energy deserts.........To Read More....

What Greens don't get about volcanoes, oceans, and weather

Despite Green propaganda, recent Australian floods were not caused by coal, cattle, or cars.  Weather is driven by winds; solar energy powers the winds and draws moisture for them from the oceans.  These eternal natural rain-making processes have been aided recently by two extra factors. Firstly, a big La Niña weather event in the Pacific Ocean has left warmer water closer to Australia. Secondly, there is increased underwater volcanism in this region, as evidenced by the volcanic eruptions near Vanuatu.

Earth's climate history is written in the rocks.  Anyone who cares to read that record will see that recurring Ice Ages, not global warming, pose the greatest threat to life on Earth.  Even in today's warm Holocene Era, the Little Ice Age was a time of war, famine, and distress, whereas the Medieval Warm Period heralded a time of peace and plenty.  Earth's weather is driven by winds powered by convection currents, which get most of their energy from the sun........To Read More....

The green road to blackouts

California leads the way to electricity blackouts, closely followed by South Australia. They both created this problem by taxing, banning, delaying, or demolishing reliable coal, nuclear, gas or hydro generators while subsidizing and promoting unreliable electricity from the sickly green twins -- solar and wind. All supposed to solve a global warming crisis that exists only in academic computer models. Energy policy should be driven by proven reliability, efficiency, and cost, not by green politics. Wind and solar will always be prone to blackouts for three reasons.

First, they are intermittent, producing zero power when winds drops or sunlight fails.

Second, green energy is dilute so the collection area must be huge. Both solar panels and wind turbines are old technologies and now close to collecting the maximum energy from a given land area of wind and sun, so limited technology gains are possible. Wind turbines generate nothing from gentle breezes and must shut down in gales. To collect more energy the green twins must collect from greater areas using a widespread scatter of panels and towers connected by a fragile network of roads and transmission lines. This flimsy system is far more susceptible to damage from cyclones, hail, and the like than a big, well-built, centrally located, well-maintained traditional power station with strong walls, a roof, and lightning protection. Green energy also requires far more investment in transmission lines and interconnectors, and the energy transmission losses are greater.

Time for Climate Sense

Svante Arrhenius (1859-1927) was a Swedish scientist who first claimed that the burning of hydrocarbons like coal, oil, gas, peat, and wood may cause global warming. In 1895 he calculated (incorrectly) that a doubling of the atmospheric CO2 concentration would lead to a 4-5o C rise in global temperature.   However, Arrhenius suggested that this increase could be beneficial, making the various climates on Earth “more equable" and stimulating plant growth and food production.

Then a showman/politician, Al Gore, gave life to the theory that extra carbon dioxide due to human activities will cause dangerous global warming.

But temperatures refused to obey the alarmist computer model forecasts. So they switched to the universal boogieman -- climate-change, where every bit of bad weather was blamed on western industry. But this did not scare enough people, so it morphed into climate emergency, which allows coal, oil, gas, cars, and cattle to be blamed for everything bad -- floods and droughts, snowstorms and heatwaves, bushfires, coral bleaching, species extinction, and pollution anywhere.

But the carbon dioxide scare is proving false -- it’s time for some climate sense........ Alarmism over climate is the great gravy train for academics, bureaucrats, speculators, globalists, and politicians seeking excuses for more power and more taxes. “Climate emergency” is an exercise in global politics, not science. Stop Wasting Australia's Dam Water

The Saltbush Club today accused state and federal governments of wasting water often desperately needed everywhere west of Australia’s Great Dividing Range. The “Saltbush Water Watch” has been established to monitor government action and inaction and report on priorities.

The Executive Director of the new and growing Saltbush Club, Mr Viv Forbes, said “From Adelaide to Longreach we have allowed green subversives to prevent new dam construction and to dictate the waste of water caught in existing dams.”

“Without water conservation the Murray River would turn back into a string of disconnected waterholes every big drought. More reliable fresh water has benefitted humans and nature all along the river.

“Luckily (and predictably), Tim Flannery’s climate alarm forecasts of endless drought has proved wrong, or this area of Australia would now be depopulated.

“The green activists behind the water waste are not pro-environment – they are anti-human. Humans are part of the environment.

“The Saltbush Club is in the process of setting up several “Watch Groups” to investigate, monitor and report on this political war on human activity. It has appointed Mr Ron Pike, “A Bushie from the Back of Barellan” to lead the Saltbush Water Watch.

“Ron has a lifetime of experience of farming, irrigation and politics in the Murray Darling Basin. He was the first farmer to use water from the Snowy Scheme to irrigate his farm in 1961.

Ron says:

“The food we eat, the water we drink and the power we use for most of our endeavours, are available only because previous generations invested their know-how and money for the future. “It is time this generation did the same.”

Tomorrow's grim global Green dictatorship

Greens hate individual freedom and private property. They dream of a centralized, unelected global government, financed by taxes on developed nations and controlled by all the tentacles of the U.N.  No longer is real pollution of our environment the main Green concern. The key slogan of the Green religion is "sustainable development," with them defining what is sustainable.

Greens hate miners. They use nationalized parks, heritage areas, flora and fauna reserves, green bans, and land rights to close as much land as possible to explorers and miners. Apparently, resources should be locked away for some lucky future generation. And if some persistent explorer manages to prove a mineral deposit, greens will then strangle it in the approval process, using "death by delay."

Greens hate farmers with their ploughs, fertilizers, crops, and grazing animals. They want Aussie grazing land turned back to kangaroos. They plan to expel farmers and graziers from most land areas, with food produced in concentrated feedlots, factory farms, communal gardens, and hydroponics........To Read More......

My Take - Greenies believe humanity is a virus to the planet and needs to be eliminated or at the very least have our numbers seriously depleted to the tune of about five billion less people.  There's not one thing in the modern world the greens like, except disease and starvation, because that gives them what they really want - less people!   Green is a neo-pagan secular religious death cult.  To be green is to be irrational, misanthropic and morally defective. 


 

“The Green Paper? Almost Legless.”

The Carbon Sense Coalition today claimed that Penny Wong’s Green Paper on the Carbon Reduction Scheme had been overtaken by scientific and political developments and was now almost legless.

The Chairman of “Carbon Sense” Mr. Viv Forbes said that of the three pillars of the government’s climate change policy, only one was sensible - “Adapting to Climate change that we cannot avoid”.

Politicians living in the Canberra hot house seem to think that controlling the climate is as simple as adjusting the thermostat in their air-conditioned offices. Man cannot control the weather and the only feasible climate policy is to make sure we have the brains, the freedom, the flexibility, the funds and the machinery to cope with whatever surprises the climate has in store for us. “Adapt or die” has been the guiding rule for every species since life began on this ever-changing earth.

The first pillar of the policy, “reducing greenhouse gas emissions” is based on flawed science and promoted by scare stories with no evidence to support them. The science shows clearly that carbon dioxide in the atmosphere cannot be a significant driver of global warming. Moreover, records going back 10,000 years confirm that CO2 does not drive temperature. Thus any attempts to reduce carbon emissions will be “pain for no gain”.

The third pillar of government climate change policy aims to “shape a global solution”. This policy is also flawed and should be abandoned. India, China and Russia do not believe that CO2 drives global temperatures and will only join a global agreement if it costs them nothing or, even better, they get paid “carbon sin dispensation money” by silly western nations. Russia has already banked huge carbon credit receipts and other nations are hoping to jump on this gravy train.

Moreover, anyone with a sensitive political antenna can see that in places like Britain, Germany, Canada and the US, the rising costs of food and energy, and the Green destruction of jobs, are worrying electors far more than a mythical global warming bogey-man that never arrives.
