Judgement at Nuremberg Was a Global Warning That's Been Forgotten

In 1960 I was fourteen when I saw the two hour historical documentary movie, Mein Kamph, which detailed the rise and fall of Hitler and the Third Reich.... and the Holocaust atrocities.  That was the first time I saw film on the bodies being bulldozed into mass graves, and that image never left me.  

Then in 1961 I saw the Judgement at Nuremberg, a fictionalized trial that featured factual events, surrounding the trial of the judges who sentenced so many to death and concentration camps and were being tried for crimes against humanity.  That never left me either.  

 Before I go on, let's take a look at this piece by Lee Cary which appeared in the Canada Free Press in 2021, Lawlessness can coexist, even thrive, with laws, lawyers, judges and courts.  The Third Reich.

This is a picture that was taken on October 1936 of Berlin judges swearing an oath of allegiance to Adolf Hitler saying:

“I swear I will be true and obedient to the Fuhrer of the German Reich and people, Adolf Hitler, observe the law, and conscientiously fulfill the duties of my office, so help me God."

Under the guise of justice and obedience to the law, they knowingly perpetrated vile crimes.  Spenser Tracy played Dan Haywood, the Chief Judge in a tribunal that found all the judges guilty, and at the end of the trial he stated regarding Judge Janning, a once prominent and respected German judge:

Janning's record and his fate illuminate the most shattering truth that has emerged from this trial. If he and the other defendants were all depraved perverts - if the leaders of the Third Reich were sadistic monsters and maniacs - these events would have no more moral significance than an earthquake or other natural catastrophes. But this trial has shown that under the stress of a national crisis, men - even able and extraordinary men - can delude themselves into the commission of crimes and atrocities so vast and heinous as to stagger the imagination. 

  

I just watched the latest Nuremberg movie with Russell Crowe, and the thing that ends up standing out in this movie exemplifies the words of the fictional Judge Haywood about the ability of perfectly normal people to commit very real crimes so heinous it boggles the mind.  There are two primary characters in this film being portrayed; Herman Goering, the former Reichsfuhrer, and a psychiatrist, Dr. Douglas Kelly, and they were real.  

 

After all of his interviews with Goering and the other defendants, all found guilty of heinous crimes and sentenced to death, he concluded "these personality types were not unique to Germany and could easily emerge in any society—including the United States—if given the right political climate."  I think events are showing he was absolutely right.  We can determine what people will do by what people have done in the past, and right now there are antisemitic and anti-Christian mobs appearing all over America, and many areas of the world, which is being promoted by the left via their elected officials, the media, and what I think is the most staggering truth is that it's rampant in academia.

 

The world wanted to believe "evil was an eradicable, abnormal disease, not an extension of ordinary behavior", when in reality his research showed "humanity itself harbors the seeds for such atrocities."  What do we see unfolding right before our eyes?  Andrea Widburg published this article yesterday, The venerable Oxford debating society has fallen to the barbarians, noting:

After claiming the West, and not Islam, is more violent, Aisha Khan Aziz tells Tommy Robinson the mob outside would kill him if it weren't for security. The students applaud.

She went on to clarify what in effect this woman was really saying:  

In other words, you, Tommy Robinson, a citizen of Great Britain, are currently alive at this moment only because I, your Muslim overlord, am allowing you to live........ Once the leftists got their talons in, England died as surely as it would have had the Nazis won WWII. And of course, the great irony is that the new UK leadership aligns perfectly with the Nazis, for it is a socialist tyranny that is anti-Western, anti-Christian, and antisemitic.

In America we have a sitting justice on the Supreme Court, Judge Gorsuch, who has abandoned originalism.... again, claiming America isn’t a Christian nation, in effect saying the foundational principles that created America aren't based on Judaic/Christian principles.  Another Biden Judge has legalized ISIS attacks in America, and this destructive pattern keeps playing out all over the nation.

Remember it wasn't all that long ago when Australia was putting their citizens in interment camps who refused the COVID shots.  They were fined, and property confiscated along with bank accounts.

COVID has revealed a lot over the last year and a half, but no country has been exposed more for its underlying culture of tyranny than Australia. Formerly a beacon of freedom, community, and beautiful landscapes, the land down under has morphed into a dystopian hellscape where the government blesses its residents with an hour of free time a day. The former prison colony has reverted to its roots.

What happened in Australia can happen in America.  The Never-Ending Long March: Leftist control of the U.S. is advancing apace:

"The purpose of a university should be to make a son as unlike his father as possible.” These radical words were spoken in 1909 by Woodrow Wilson, then president of Princeton, four years before he became the 28th president of the United States." 

Wilson, along with Teddy Roosevelt, believed the Constitution was an impediment to human progress, and acted accordingly.  Acts that laid the practical and intellectual foundation for future Presidents to create an unaccountable and out of control fourth branch of government, the deep state bureaucracy, which has been unraveling the very fabric of America.
