States bring appeal against EPA rules to U.S. Supreme Court
Attorneys general from nine states
filed a friend-of-the-court brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in a bid to
overturn the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean Air Act provision that
seeks to regulate interstate power plant emissions. The rule "is a blatant
attempt to promote a reckless agenda that picks winners and losers and puts our
nation's goal for energy independence in a tenuous position," said West
Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. Aside from Morrisey, attorneys
general from Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, Arizona, Montana, Missouri,
Kentucky and Arkansas also signed the appeal. The Hill/E2 Wire blog (11/7)
