Sen. Elizabeth Warren claimed to be an “American Indian” when registering for the State Bar of Texas in 1986, the first example of her personally using her dubious accounts to further her career.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that it had acquired, via an open records request, her registration card and a Post reporter tweeted out an image of the card.

My Take - When all this broke out she could have simply apologized and said she we only repeating what was thought to be family history. That there was no disrespect intended or intent to fool anyone. The idea she was part American Indian was what the whole family believed, and then moved on. But she didn't, and now we know why. She deliberately defrauded everyone for her own gain, and that couldn't have been just an accident of family history.
