Covington: A Leftwing Freak Show

By Rich Kozlovich

Here's a list of some of the articles about the Covington college kids who've been mercilessly attacked by left wing lunatics in politics, Hollywood, the media, but most sadly, their own religious leaders. These are the people who whine unendingly about inclusion and compassion but that's always been a lie, and now it's becoming obvious anyone who reads and thinks that their lying hypocrisy can no longer be ignored.

Over MAGA Hats? Alyssa Milano Is Getting Taken To The Woodshed Over Her Trash Tweet About Covington Catholic Students
Everyone had the hot takes over the weekend. Students from Covington Catholic High School were subject to the merciless antics of the progressive social justice warrior mob that is out to destroy them. The students attended the March for Life last weekend and were confronted by a kooky group called the Black Hebrew Israelites at the Lincoln Memorial, who hurled obscenities at them. The students did sports chants to drown out the vulgarity. Nathan Phillips, a Native American man, approached the group of kids and beating a drum with the intention of diffusing the situation. This turned into ‘a bunch of white kids harassed a Native American,’ which set the Internet on fire. Of course, that was fake news. There was no racism, no harassment, and no chants of “build the wall.” It has been refuted, but the kids were white, Catholic, and wore Make America Great Again hats. They must be marked for termination. They cannot be allowed to live.

Don’t Be Co-opted by ‘Gotcha’-Style Reactionism That Dominates Current Cultural Discourse
No one at Twitter, Buzzfeed, or The Washington Post got gum stuck in their hair, or fell into a mud puddle or got stuck with lima beans for dinner – at least as far as I know. But still, last week wasn’t great for the American news media.  First, there was that breathless meltdown over Second Lady Karen Pence, or as The New York Times put it, “Karen Pence Is Teaching at Christian School That Bars L.G.B.T. Students and Teachers.”  One CNN commentator wrote that even if the school has “a right to its brand of hate,” her teaching there is “deplorable” and the school’s conviction about sex and marriage is “disgusting.”

Yeah, The Covington Kids Have A Case
As a lawyer, one of my most important jobs is telling people “No,” as in “No, you got shafted and lied about by scummy people but you have no remedy in the courthouse.” I tell that to a lot of people all the time. It makes them sad, but my destiny was never to bring joy but to bring pain. The hard fact is that you don’t want to get into any lawsuit if you can help it, and you especially don’t want to get into one that you can’t win. And when it comes to lawsuits over damage to your reputation, you mostly can’t win...........So, can the Covington Kids sue? The short answer – yes............It’s a new age. It’s brought forth new atrocities. We need to decide as a society whether we are going to accept this dreadful phenomenon or stamp it out by making the perpetrators pay. If the old legal framework cannot right this wrong, then we need to create a new legal framework that will. And you do that by suing the hell out of them.

The Soft Bigotry Of Liberal Preconceptions
You are a racist. Go ahead and prove me wrong. Or at least try. You can’t. It’s the perfect charge to level against someone if you want to end a discussion because there’s nowhere for anyone to go after it’s tossed out. It’s also childish, which is why Democrats level it with the frequency that my newborn daughter soils her diaper – and they both come from the same place with the same substance.

Ready…Fire…Aim
A Covington High School mother is speaking out about the viral video clip depicting an encounter between a group of pro-life teen boys, and a Native American activist.  On Tuesday’s “Fox and Friends,” Jill Hamlin described what initially lead up to the confrontation. She explained that the teens from the all-boys’ Catholic school in Kentucky had attended the March for Life, as they do every year, and found themselves being verbally attacked at the Lincoln Memorial by a group called the Black Hebrew Israelites.

McConnell on Covington: ‘These Kids…Met With…Hatred from People Who…Had No Idea What Had Taken Place’
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.) took to the Senate floor on Wednesday to give a speech in defense of Covington Catholic High School, its students and their parents.
“Because of what some highly partisan observers thought they saw in a few seconds of confusing video, these kids, their school, and their families were met with a deluge of partisan vitriol and hatred from people who never met them and had no idea what had taken place,” he said.

Nathan Phillips, the man who sang a song and beat a drum close the face of a teenage boy who was wearing a Make America Great Again hat at the Lincoln Memorial last Friday, explained in an interview that the Detroit Free Press published on Sunday how he believed the Catholic faith of the boys he confronted played a role in what has happened.

Bill Donohue: Assessing the Covington Catholic Critics
Having addressed the events of January 18 (click here), I now want to assess some of the most prominent critics of the Covington Catholic students. That the students were not the guilty party in the dustup is obvious to every fair-minded person who has seen, or learned about, the second video.
I did not issue a statement on this incident before today, and for good reason: the Catholic League defends wrongdoing committed against individual Catholics and the institutional Church; it does not defend wrongdoing done by either.

Who Am I to Judge? (Except Kids in MAGA Hats)
At the outset of his papacy, Pope Francis was asked about a suspected gay lobby in the priesthood and he famously said, “Who am I to judge?”..........Incredibly, their Catholic diocese was leading the mob, casting the largest, sharpest, most carefully aimed stone, launched from the consecrated hand of a bishop who must have known his condemnation would be regarded as the most credible in the ensuing media frenzy.

Libels of and threats to Covington Kids will face Kentucky justice
Prosecutor: "It's called 'terroristic threatening' in Kentucky and it is a felony offense punishable by 1 to 5 years in prison to make a threat of violence to an educational institution."

Covington bishop acts quickly
Come see the bishop jump through the hoop.

Demonizing Catholic Schoolboys
The Lincoln Memorial incident marks a new departure in the left's war against the normal.
