Thought For the Day

By Rich Kozlovich

An unknown author once noted no self-described Communist ever sees himself as a worker in the a socialist workers paradise of the future.  They’re all going to be party officials telling everyone else how to live, how to work and what to think.  It’s their view they’ll be dictating policy over things in which they have no experience or qualifications.  While everyone else toils and sweats in misery, starvation, suffering and early death living under the dictates of incompetent, amoral, stupid bureaucrats and national leaders.

History has shown beyond any doubt that Socialism has been a philosophy of dystopia.  It is now and has always been a disaster for any nation that either voted it in or had it imposed on them.  What amazes me is why they're not overthrown by their people.

There's N. Korea, China, Russia, and any number to nations ruled by socialist tyrants who have been infinitely worse than the leaders they replaced, killing over 100 million in the 20th century.  Not only do these nations continue to exist, we now have Venezuela, and who knows how many millions in the 21st century will die as a result of their continued rule.  Furthermore, if you throw in the leftists who are part of the environmental movement that number balloons.  And yet they're not overthrown.

Why?

I think the answer lies in the fact leftists are all motivated by hate, envy, greed, stupidity and insanity.  Those are the emotions and motivations that makes it easy to turn them into revolutionaries, and those are the emotions and mentality that turns them into monsters.  Normal people just want to live their lives without interfering with the lives of others.
