Chris Christie is at risk of matching the
record of six New Jersey bond downgrades under former Democratic Governor James
McGreevey as ratings companies pan the second-term Republican’s revenue
forecasts.
Fitch Ratings and Moody’s Investors Service
give New Jersey negative outlooks, meaning more cuts are possible as the
state’s economic rebound trails the nation’s. Fitch’s cut this month brought

My Take – A couple of years ago I was at a pest control industry event (the pest control industry is largely very conservative, both socially and fiscally) where my conservative friends kept talking about how impressed they were with Christie and hoped he would run for President. I told them the impression of they had of Christie was based on his standing up to the teacher's union and telling some smarmy teacher who demanded to know how she was to pay her bills she should get another job. That event gave the impression he was not only tough talking, but a tough talking conservative, both socially and fiscally. I said that is a false impression. It’s clear he’s tough talking, but that didn’t make him a tough talking conservative socially or fiscally, since he was not then, nor is he now a conservative, either socially or fiscally. What he’s an egocentric incompetent bully! Of course that’s just my impression, but my impression is based on all his activity, and it's the sublime convergence of histoy and reality that gives us truth. It's true that truth will patiently wait for us, but I just keep wishing people would make an attempt to meet it closer down the road.
