Pernicious double standard limits who can use the race card

References to slavery are apparently only wrong or inappropriate when black conservatives make them. Not long ago, Dr. Ben Carson, a world-renowned retired neurosurgeon who worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, called the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, “the worst thing that has happened in this country since slavery.”
Left-wingers of all races couldn’t wait to pounce on Carson for the remark, even though he elaborated. During his early October speech at the Values Voter Summit, Carson added that Obamacare "is, in a way, slavery, because it is making us all subservient to government, and it was never about health care. It was about control.”  Later, during an interview with black liberal journalist Roland Martin, Carson said, “This nation was founded on the principle that it would be a new type of nation, that was for, of and by the people.   "A constitution was put in place that would assure that the people remain at the pinnacle of power and that the central government would never reach the point where it had control of the people.
