President Obama focused on energy independence in his
weekly address, following a week dominated by the chaotic rollout of his

increased natural gas production, more efficient energy use and a drop in
carbon emissions in his speech, arguing that lower carbon emissions don't slow
economic growth.
"Between more clean energy, and less wasted energy, our emissions of
dangerous carbon pollution are actually falling. That’s good news for anyone

My Take – 7.8
million new jobs in 44 months? Really? Where?
And how many jobs have been lost in these mythically serendipitous 44
months? How many people have dropped off the unemployment rolls because their
benefits ran out? How many people have
given up looking for a job? How many
people are now part of the underground economy just in order to survive? These
44 months must be part of that children’s fairy tale about the Island of Serendipity
where all sorts of wonderful things magically occur unexpectedly.
