Global Warming and How Some Things Never Change.

As I go back to view old pieces I've posted I came across this piece going back to 2008 entitled Another Skeptic.  This was a letter to USA Today from Dr. Martin Hertzberg, a retired Navy meteorologist with a PhD in physical chemistry, and published with his permission.  He went on to say:

As a scientist and life-long liberal Democrat, I find the constant regurgitation of the anecdotal, fear mongering clap-trap about human-caused global warming (the Levi, Borgerson article of 9/24/08) to be a disservice to science, to your readers, and to the quality of the political dialogue leading up to the election.

The difference between a scientist and propagandist is clear. If a scientist has a theory, he searches diligently for data that might contradict it so that he can test it further or refine it. The propagandist carefully selects only the data that agrees with his theory and dutifully ignores any that contradicts it. The global warming alarmists don't even bother with data! All they have are half-baked computer models that are totally out of touch with reality and have already been proven to be false.

Here is some of the latest data. From the El Nino year of 1998 until Jan., 2007, the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere near its surface decreased some 0.25 C. From Jan., 2007 until the Spring of 2008, it dropped a whopping 0.75 C. The National Weather Service just issued a Sea Ice Advisory for the Western and Arctic Alaskan Coastal waters for significant ice developing in the next 10 to 14 days, with sea surface temperatures some 2 to 8 C colder than last year. Such recent data is "just the tip of the iceberg" that is in process of sinking the Gore-IPCC ship of cards.

That was 14 years ago, and it was obvious even then all the global warming/climate change hysteria was just propaganda, not science.  And the evidence of that keeps piling up to the point there can no longer be any justification for pushing their "climate change" agenda.  An agenda over a "crisis" most no longer believe in, especially since what warming there was stopped 25 years ago in what they're calling "the pause", and it still wasn't anywhere near the temperatures of the Roman and Medieval Warming Periods.

And as always, leftist hysteria is followed by demands that these heretics must be purged from government, academia, politics and the media who disagree with their secular religious movement, the Church of Wokeness, with the religious tenet of socialized tyranny, aka, socialism, leftism, communism, environmentalism and the enforcer of it all is the Democrat party in collusion with the United Nations, the EU and a host of strange people with a lot of money, like George Soros, and I include Bill Gates among that host..

This "pause" is in fact a tacit acknowledgement there is no warming but they just can't bring themselves to openly admit they're wrong, hoping beyond hope warming will return and the Chicken Littles can once again come out in packs hunting down the "deniers", all heretics to the sacredness of the sect of the Church of Wokeness, the Church of the Warming Globe and it's High Priest, Al Gore:

"a C university student, a divinity school dropout, a lawyer with no science studies, an majority owner/investor in a company selling 'Carbon Credits' with a vested interest in limiting CO2 for profiteering and the producer of a movie that the British Courts found to have 9 or 11 inaccuracies and could not be shown in British schools without identifying and explanation of the inaccurate claims."  

In 2018 I published this piece, Global Warming Predictions, Especially About the Future, is Really Hard, saying:

Al Gore’s Prediction For December 2017 Was Way, WAY Off The Mark, Andrew West outlines some of the scare mongering spouted by The High Priest of the Church of the Warming Globe, Al Gore.  Scare mongering did I say?  Yes, but I think that's putting it mildly for what Gore has done.  I would add lying, profiteering, scamming and fraud to that list.  West goes on to say:

"Just how bad were some of Gore’s predictions?  Well, for starters, he believed that the North Pole would be completely devoid of ice by today."

• “NINE YEARS AGO THIS MONTH— Al Gore predicted the North Polar Ice Cap would be completely ice free in five years.”
• “Gore made the prediction to a German audience in 2008. He told them that ‘the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.’
• “In January 2006, Al Gore posited ‘within the next 10 years, the world will reach a point of no return’ and ‘a true planetary emergency’ due to global warming.”

And in the process he's managed to enrich himself immensely.  Apparently he didn't think the emergency was so great he should stop trying to get more money, or not live in massive energy sucking "$9 million beach front home in Montecito, [California]. Guess Al is not really afraid of sinking into the sea." 

And we're shocked his predictions have been wrong?

The four pillars of modern environmentalism are junk science, regulatory abuse, secular neo-paganism and insanity.   However, in point of fact, we're probably going to be facing a period of global cooling:

 

"All good hoaxes must come to an end, and this week’s frigid and dangerous arctic blast may be another nail in the coffin for the “global warming” charlatans. The idea that the entire globe is somehow filling with greenhouse gasses, thusly heating the planet up to the point of no return, is patently absurd."

Yet, these elitists, fake scientists and globalist continue to push that agenda.  An agenda that even if it could change the world's climate the amount of change would be meaningless to the world's temperatures, but the cost and the impositions would change humanities ability to live well and live longer.  Their constant efforts to restrict access to energy is mind boggling, and will impact everyone and everything we do, including the ability to produce sufficient food for the world, all in the name of Climate Change.  

Leftism and "fake crises" goes hand in hand.

Let’s be honest: No one is closing tax loopholes

After the lack of journalistic vigor displayed during Barack Obama’s magnificently ambiguous 2008 campaign, it’s comforting to see so many reporters clamoring for details about Mitt Romney’s policy proposals. Romney, you see, has a tax plan — a vague plan that relies on the sound notion that tax cuts can generate economic growth and even, consequently, raise revenue. Many in the media disagree. But as Harvey S. Rosen, an economist at Princeton University, recently wrote (pdf), “under plausible assumptions, a proposal along the lines suggested by Governor Romney can both be revenue neutral and keep the net tax burden on high-income individuals about the same.” The problem is that keeping the plan revenue-neutral on paper can be achieved only by closing tax loopholes. Which loopholes? We don’t know. Romney, as vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan explained, believes “the best way to do this is to show the framework, show the outlines of these plans and then to work with Congress to do this. That’s how you get things done.” This might be solid political reasoning, but in reality, it’s not going to happen. And the problem isn’t that wealthy oil barons or special interest lobbyists love loopholes (they do); it’s because

The Birth Certificate Saga, Part 3

I have watched Sheriff Arpaio's press conference in AZ and have examined some of the evidence directly. It is clear - as Alex Jones rightly said on the day when Obama first put up his faked "long-form birth certificate" on the White House website - that a fraud has been committed, and that, absent a valid official record of Obama's birth or a very good explanation of the anomalies in the published version, he is not qualified to stand for re-election as President.

The main point of the fraudulent "birth certificate" is that it is layered in such a way that all four of the rubber stamps (three dates and one recording officer's certification) are on separate layers, allowing them to be moved about on the document at will. A scanned document could not behave this way, and there is no way this could have happened accidentally. However, Sheriff Arpaio has some reason to fear that the Hawaiian authorities are in Obama's pocket.

There are two other pieces of impressive testimony. First, when the Sheriff's office asked the National Archives to produce the immigration records of flights into the US, and specifically into Hawaii, for five years either side of Obama's alleged birth date (4 August 1961), the one week in 1961 in which the records were unavailable was the week of -- you guessed it - 1-7 August. This is beginning to look like a widespread, high-level fraud.

Secondly, the White House had previously told enquirers from the media that no long-form birth certificate existed: all they had was a certification from Hawaii that there was a birth certificate on file.

The Sheriff plainly has enough evidence to warrant further investigation by the appropriate authorities (presumably the FBI), but he seems to be genuinely terrified of how far the corruption might have spread, and does not seem to know where to go or what to do next. A lawyer whom I have consulted says that no public authority or court will move against a sitting president who has been elected, but it seems to me that the evidence of malfeasance is now strong enough to overcome this objection.

Monckton The Magnificent!

I have been following Lord Monckton's adventures in the global warming debate for so long that I can't even remember when I first discovered him, but he has truly been magnificent. The author states; ‘The angrier and more indignant they are, the more he seems to like it.”

I have watched him at these things on television and he clearly seems to be enjoy himself all the more in that kind of forum; and I know why. He knows that they don't have a clue what they are going face. They can't even begin to realize the saw mill of scientific information, historical fact and a clear understanding of every aspect of this issue they are going to face. Whether they are professors, students or media people, he politely crushes their views (and their egos) with more information and understanding about more aspects of this issue than they knew existed. When he is all done, they are done …..And they know it.

These kids have been 'taught' by professors who living in an echo chamber of head nodding self congratulators. As a result they are smug, arrogant and completely convinced of their own genius and the infallibility of leftism and the step child of leftism; environmentalism in all it's permutations. They give every indication of being over educated and under smart; while retaining egos beyond the levels of human cranial capacity. Accordingly they are never prepared to face Monkton. The truly sad part of this are the students 'taught' by these people; who now only know what to think, not how to think.

Why is Monkton always well mannered and completely unperturbed by his antagonists during all of these types of presentations? I know the answer to that also. He isn’t arrogant, he is just amazingly self confident. And rightly so!

Monckton’s Schenectady showdown

THE NEWS that Lord Monckton was to give his “Climate of Freedom” lecture at Union College in Schenectady, New York, had thrown the university’s environmentalists into a turmoil. The campus environmentalists set up a Facebook page announcing a counter-meeting of their own immediately following Monckton’s lecture. There is no debate about global warming, they announced. There is a consensus. The science is settled. Their meeting would be addressed by professors and PhDs, the “true” scientists, no less. Sparks, it seemed, were gonna fly......

You could have heard a pin drop. For the first time, the largely hostile audience (for most of those who attended were environmentalists) realized that the mere fact of a consensus does not in any way inform us of whether the assertion about which there is said to be a consensus is true......

The 2001 IPCC gospel had abolished the medieval warm period by another piece of dubious statistical prestidigitation that was now under investigation by the Attorney-General of Virginia under the Fraud against Taxpayers Act 2000 (gasps of gaping astonishment from some of the environmentalists, who seemed not to have been told this before)......

Lord Monckton, sternly but sadly, told those who had raised their hands: “You know, from the plain and clear demonstration that I gave during my lecture, that the IPCC’s statistical abuse was just that – an abuse. Yet, perhaps out of misplaced loyalty to your professor, you raised your hands in denial of the truth. Never do that again, even for the sake of appeasing authority. In science, whatever you may personally believe or wish to be so, it is the truth and only the truth that matters.”

Observations From the Back Row

We have the tendency to think that our views are the views shared by everyone else, so when we read some accounts that should normally outrage our sense of justice we have the tendency to pass these outrages off and think; “Come on; who would do such things?” I truly think that is the problem with a society that doesn’t teach history….and what we are doing in our schools isn’t history. At one time you could at least get the correct understanding in the universities ---at one time--- but that time isn’t now!

I started this as an anti-green blog; and I intend that it should be a “green issues only” blog. I started it because I had become 'outraged' when I realized that everything the greenies were spouting about pesticides was a lie, and I wanted to set the record straight for our industry. I wanted to make sure there was at least one place where all pest controllers could go to gather information to defend us against these scurrilous attacks against pesticides and pesticide users.

It soon became obvious that it was impossible to maintain a “green issues only” blog because green isn’t about the environment, no matter what they claim. It is about world domination and green was the tip of the spear point for that movement! That made me realize that in order to properly address the green issues I would have to take on all issues promoted by the leftists of this world. I really hate that because there is no end to it, and I have a real job that really interferes with my life. Whoda thunk it?

What really convinced me that I had to expand my coverage into “all things” was the fact that so many in the pesticide manufacturing, distribution and applications industries had started drinking the Kool-Aid. This was not the industry that I started in thirty years ago. It had become infested with pseudo-greenies from the universities that demonstrated all the symptoms of the Stockholm Syndrome. They were now finding common ground with enemies whose goal was our destruction and the destruction of humanity. The last part was the defining realization for me.

At any rate I needed some sort of emotional, psychological and logical foundation to justify all of the work this was going to take. I did struggle with that for a nano-second and then I had another one of those SHAZAM moments. I do so love SHAZAM moments!

Did you ever have a SHAZAM moment? All of a sudden you get this flash of insight -- SHAZAM -- and all of a sudden we understand something that we have been working on mentally for some time, maybe even years. As I grow older I find that this happens much more often than in years gone by. How does that happen? I can tell you that age makes up a part of it, because clearly the brain’s abilities change as we grow older. I read James A. Michener’s book “The Source” when I was 19 and enjoyed it. I read it again when I was 30 and understood it.

The brain is designed to find patterns. The ability to draw correct conclusions from incomplete data is a work of the brain that is a wonderful gift, but there still has to be a foundation for it. Everyone has this ability in varying degrees, but are we capable of training our minds to do it better? I believe so! I believe that this is done by absorbing a great deal of information and thinking a great deal about a great many small things. All of this is being filed and correlated by the brain without any conscious effort on our part. Eventually we will have a brain full of seemingly disparate and useless information that will come together into some cohesive form. A bit here, a bit there and all of a sudden –SHAZAM-- you have the whole story with the informational gaps filled in automatically.

I realized that Paradigms and Demographics isn’t an anti-green blog and it isn’t an anti-leftist blog. Paradigms and Demographics is a pro-humanity blog! In order to be pro-humanity you must be against environmentalism and leftism; both being irrational and misanthropic secular religions.

Everything that I post will attempt to dig deeper into the issues than what is shown on the news or appears in the newspapers….both of which are lies of omission. Because everything is “the basics”! What is "the basics"? It is the embrace of traditional wisdom versus the latest philosophical flavor of the day; commonly known as conventional wisdom!

Traditional wisdom appeals to the intellect and conventional wisdom appeals to the emotions. Traditional wisdom has faced the test of time, and that time is called history. History leaves a trail that can be followed and used to develop factual logical foundations that will naturally create the intellectual responses to the emotional speculative ravings of the left. Conventional wisdom often leaves dystopia behind.

My hope is to clarify …………. everything!

In some jurisdictions, “serious fraud” is defined as a fraud that either involves offenders in a position of public trust or very substantial sums of money or both. The connected frauds revealed in the Climategate emails involve both.

My Take - The people who perpetrated this fraud; the people who supported this fraud; and the people who have profited from this fraud have a lot more to answer for than mere fraud. They are guilty of crimes against humanity! Here are two articles from earlier in the year

The wind turbine syndrome has become pandemic
Yesterday, the European Platform Against Windfarms (EPAW) and the North American Platform against Windpower (NA-PAW) served notice to the government of Denmark. They warned of the consequences of their health-threatening manipulations of measurements of sounds and infrasounds emitted by wind turbines. The government of Australia was also warned about the health hazards associated with their windfarm policy. More governments will be served notice in the coming weeks, as well as the wind industry. The [British] Government was slammed last night for refusing to support a group of Christians fighting for their rights in the European courts. Four individuals who have been disciplined at work or lost their jobs after refusing to remove crosses or to conform to gay rights laws are attempting to overturn the decisions of British courts and tribunal.  They had hoped for support from Ministers after a former Archbishop of Canterbury, Lord Carey, appealed to Prime Minister David Cameron on their behalf.  But the Government told the European Court of Human Rights that it backed the British judges and does not accept that the Christians have suffered discrimination.

Soft sentencing makes Victoria's law an ass
EVEN a convicted drug dealer thinks our justice system is too soft.....Victorian Supreme Court Justice Lex Lasry ordered the sentence be served concurrently with the 13-year sentence Johnson is already serving for armed robbery. In other words, you can subtract 13 years from 32 years, which amounts to a sort of discount for bad behaviour. It is just another perplexing anomaly from our courts......judges are out of touch and too soft on violent crime. This indicates a crisis of public confidence in our judiciary.

Take, for example, a recent case in the NSW District Court in which Justice Leonie Flannery acquitted a terror suspect who shot a police officer while being arrested. The man, who was under ASIO surveillance, was carrying two loaded guns, had acquired chemicals in preparation for a terrorist act, and had possession of jihadi extremist material and 11 mobile phones he had purchased on eBay. But Judge Flannery claimed an environment of anti-Muslim feeling, which engendered in the Muslim community a high sense of paranoia, had made the man panic when police came to arrest him near a western Sydney mosque in 2005. "He was concerned for his safety, and (in) the climate of anti-Muslim feeling in the community at the time, he believed that he might be harmed by the police."

She concluded the suspect had not intended to shoot the policeman and therefore found him not guilty.
