Gee, record snowfall practically everywhere.  Many have been enduring well-below-normal spring temperatures.  When is that atmospheric heat-trapping going to kick in?  If I had mastered Photoshop, I'd have put together a picture of Al Gore driving a snow plow...with palm trees in the background.  But reality is disturbing enough.

Many reporters covering the ongoing devastation being wrought by tornadoes bend over backwards to tie the phenomenon to global warming.  It so happens that this is tornado season — when cold Arctic air masses collide with warm, moist air masses coming up from the Gulf of Mexico.  The death and destruction on the ground is happening because of where the twisters touch down, which is a largely chaotic process.

Opportunity in the face of tyranny April 11, 2023 We're living in a new America. The fraudulent indictment of former president Donald Trump underscores the truth that the swamp no longer hides its hostile motives or pretends to favor the rule of law and the Constitution over tyranny.  Since Joe Biden entered the Oval Office, the socialist far-left Democrats have openly attacked American values and societal norms. Under the guise of saving the planet, a false religion was created that would use the vitality of impressionable youth to divide the nation — sons against their fathers and brother against brother.

Joe Biden's King Canute Environmentalism - Are we watching a replay of King Canute commanding the waves to recede? That thought occurred to me while reading about the Biden administration's latest step in advancing the president's 2021 goal of having half of all new autos be electric by 2030. The analogy isn't exact -- current thinking is that Canute knew his courtiers were wrong when they said he could stop the incoming tide. And the king was apparently in his 30s, with no sign of cognitive impairment, at that moment by the seashore. But consider it anyway. The analogy was prompted by the Environmental Protection Agency's order last week regulating tailpipe carbon dioxide emissions of model year 2027 to 2032 cars, SUVs and pickup trucks. It was clearly intended to force automakers to produce electric vehicles so that they'd account for two-thirds of sales in 2032 -- roughly 10 times the 6% share they accounted for in 2022.................

 

CNN: A fallen idol, a suppurating stew of bawl-babies, and high-school schemers

It's been nearly a week since CNN's top executive, Jeff Zucker, got the boot, supposedly over a longtime affair with a subordinate, and the bawling through the ranks hasn't stopped.   Here's how bad it is, according to website Puck, apparently an industry-insider blog, spotted by Ace at Ace of Spades:.........

 

Grieving process? Shockwave? Mental health? Incredibly destabilizing and unsettling? Death penalty? Throw in "threat to democracy" as has been stated elsewhere and this is starting to sound like the apocalypse to these clowns............

Obviously, this guy Zucker, the big fallen Goomba-Goomba cult idol, wasn't this bottom-ranked network's boss or leader, he was really their best friend forever.  Ace has some trenchant observations about what that amounted to:

Chris Wallace is a Disgrace

On September 12, 2021 Yelena Dzhonova posted this article  Fox News host Chris Wallace said GOP reps who made false claims about election fraud cannot appear on his Sunday show saying: 

"........he doesn't invite on lawmakers who've questioned the legitimacy of now President Joe Biden's victory in the 2020 presidential election.  "I have purposefully not had them on, frankly, because I don't want to hear their crap"

He doesn't want to hear their crap?  He says if they come on the show he'll put them through the wringer, yet Wallace, who is as dishonest a journalist as was his dad, is neither looking for truth, nor does he wish to see it.  Like his dad and the rest of those "journalists" at 60 Minutes, they were always looking to promote their narrative of events, as they did with the Alar story.  

If he was an honest journalist he would recognize the evidence of fraud has been overwhelming, and now that Arizona has shown just how massive it was in just Maricopa County, that evidence will continue to grow as more states perform audits.  

Dzhonova is just as guilty of being a left wing hack as Wallace claiming,  there's "no evidence of voter fraud".  Really?  Try this, 

As Jay Valentine states, audits light up the infrastructure!  When the dust finally settles and the show definitively the amount of voter fraud during the 2020 election was massive, orchestrated, organized and deliberate, in what will they do then?  I can say what I would do.  Refuse to talk to Wallace......ever again......... just as Congressman Mo Brooks did with left wing CNN hack reporter Jim Acosta calling him nothing but a liar.

Washington Post Gets the Leads for a Bombshell Story

On July 16, Lori Aratani wrote a lengthy article for the Washington Post detailing the NTSB's decision to destroy the remains of TWA Flight 800, "the Paris-bound jetliner that crashed shortly after takeoff from New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport 25 years ago Saturday killing all 230 people onboard." 

This much Aratani got right, but that is about all. 

On Monday, July 19, I started skimming the article with the expectation that Aratani was simply going to recirculate the party line of twenty or so years' standing.  She did not disappoint.  

"The crash made headlines for years, the tragedy of the loss compounded by suspicions the plane may have been the target of a terrorist attack,"  

"Ultimately, after a four-year investigation, the National Transportation Safety Board concluded the cause was an explosion in the plane's center fuel tank, the result of a flammable mix of fuel and air ignited by a spark."

Standard nonsense.  There were, in fact, "suspicions" the plane may have been the target of a terrorist attack, but there was overwhelming evidence the 747 was the unfortunate victim of friendly missile fire. And almost no one in the aviation community, save those who were paid to say so, believed that a spontaneous explosion in the center fuel tank destroyed the aircraft. Amid the Deep State boilerplate, one sentence jumped out.  

After explaining the meticulous steps the NTSB was taking to destroy all evidence, Aratani wrote:

 "The precautions are to avoid having pieces fall into the hands of someone who might try to profit from or exploit the crash, as happened in 1999 when a TWA pilot and his wife, a former TWA flight attendant, were convicted of stealing parts from the downed jet." 

"Profit from"?  

This sentence was not only insulting to those involved but is also factually wrong. Our first self-induced recession came next and lasted over a year, destroying all the hard work of the prior three years. Next ensued the death of George Floyd and a subsequent 120 days of rioting, looting, and arson. The immediate costs were $2 billion in damage, over 25 deaths, 14,000 arrests, and a Lord of the Flies anarchy with no-go zones in our major cities. A McCarthyite frenzy followed, as remote-controlled America hunted down the supposed “racists” among us—while career agendas, personal grudges, and ideological hatred fueled the cancel culture. 

All this was antecedent to our first election in which Election Day voting was incidental, not essential, to the outcome. This was also our first presidential campaign in which the incumbent was stricken by a pandemic virus. Brit Hume – after 23 years with ABC News, 12 years as Washington managing editor with Fox News and more as senior political analyst for Fox – has delivered a Journalism 101 lesson to Lester Holt.  Holt, the NBC anchor, said Tuesday while accepting an award recently, "I think it's become clear that fairness is overrated." 

 

Hume responded on Twitter.

"This argument rests on the proposition that the media always know the truth," he said. "But they don't, as his own network's coverage of the bogus – and implausible – Russia collusion tale illustrates. Not to mention the media's reporting of early Covid 19 advice that turned out wrong."..........

Today’s journalists are often little more than left-wing thugs

One of the more interesting things about 2021 is seeing which well-known left-wing people are true civil libertarians – that is, they actually believe in the Constitution, although they still have a very different vision for America than conservatives do. The two most surprising ones (for me, at least) are Naomi Wolf and Glenn Greenwald. Both of them have been staunch leftists from the get-go, but both are deeply concerned by the constitutional breakdowns we’re seeing in America.That’s why, if you’re going to read one article today that isn’t already on American Thinker’s site, I recommend Glenn Greenwald’s look at how major media companies aggressively target ordinary people.

 

To the extent media types thought of themselves as knights on white horses, they used to see their role as attacking the powerful while protecting and defending the little guy. Indeed, as old Hollywood movies showed to the point of cliche, journalists came from the “little guy,” blue collar class

 

 Old-time reporters were scrappy, working-class men and women who used their bully pulpit to inveigh against wealth and power. They were patriots, but they felt that their job was to keep a gimlet eye on the government to ensure that the Constitution and laws of the United States applied to all.

 

Today, journalists are graduates of pricey schools. They’re not scrappy, working-class people. Instead, they’re whiny, entitled, privileged, and anti-American. They believe that their bully pulpit is to be used to advance a neo-socialist ideology that puts their rarefied, college-educated middle class cohorts in charge of America for the good of all the little black and brown people and the punishment of all those blue collar white people who still think they’re entitled to a piece of the American pie. 

 

Glenn Greenwald has written an epic and scathing take down of these spoiled, vindictive leftist journalists. Hard to say what journalists are worse at: economics or telling the truth?

Democrats spread many falsehoods while they seek to remake America and move it toward socialism, with the government amassing much more money and power for itself. They denigrate capitalism and corporations on a continuous basis. Sadly, journalists, instead of fact-checking the Democrat talking points, repeat the falsehoods as they mislead the public, especially the young.

Democrats continually tell the public that CEOs make hundreds or thousands of times the average worker, but that is an outright lie. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics:

• The average CEO makes $190,000, which is around four times the average $900 per week that the average worker makes, and the average executive makes a little over two times the average worker.
• The median pay for 2,572,000 top executives in May 2018, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics, was $104,980.
• The median pay of CEO's of all companies, small, medium, and large, was $189,600.

Meanwhile, all members of Congress get a minimum of $174,000, with Pelosi making $223,500, and their pension and other benefits dwarf the pay and benefits of the average CEO as well as executives of small, medium, and large companies.

Is that fair or excessive?

Democrats tell the American public that the rich are getting richer while others have not moved up the economic ladder.  Those are also bald-faced lies because in capitalism, people move up and down the economic ladder.

Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and most other wealthy people have moved up the economic ladder because of capitalism, not because of dependence on government.............To Read More

Newspapers Are Not Sacred Institutions!

We need to understand something.  Newspapers are not a sacred institution.  They're a business, and if they do good business they can survive to do whatever good they deem necessary.  But is it their job to do good or is it their job to do good and honest reporting?  Yes! 

The reality is the owners of a business determine what they want their business to do.  In days gone by there were far more newspapers and in many cases they were openly supportive of one party or the other.  Now it's all dishonest and undercover in an attempt to appear unbiased.   However, some newspapers are blatantly left wing and some are blatantly right wing, and it's their right to be either, both or neither.   But we have to understand - in spite of the hyperbole from the editors and other self interested media talking heads - news and opinion reporting is a business and must face market forces to survive.  Newspapers are not sacred institutions!  Churches shut down and so do newspapers. 

On May 3rd. Brett Samuels posted an article entitled, "Denver Post editor resigns after fiery editorial calling out owner" saying:

"'The editorial page editor at The Denver Post resigned on Thursday, a few weeks after he wrote a column criticizing the paper’s owners.The Denver Post reporters and local news outlet Denverite reported that Charles Plunkett resigned from his post, the latest casualty at a paper that has been ravaged by layoffs in recent years. “It’s a tragedy what Alden Global Capital is doing to its newsrooms and what it’s doing to The Denver Post,” Plunkett told Denverite. “It’s an act of apostasy to our profession and I could no longer abide it.” Colleagues praised Plunkett for his work and fearless attitude."'

An act of apostacy?  Really?  Should we all drop to our knees and ask for redemption? But, from whom should we be praying for that redemption? 

Letters posted here in the Denver Post mostly praised the Post and it's reporting and villified the owners for being corrupt and greedy, and some were hoping Jeff Bezos would do for the Denver Post what he did for the Washington Post, and that's buying a left wing organ to make sure the leftist drumbeat continued irrespective of profits, and if that's what someone wants to do with their money that's their business. 

 

However, one letter from Bob Kinney of Greenwood Village noted:

The Denver Post is reaping what it has sowed. The editorial arrogance and left bias has rendered it irrelevant. In my opinion, The Post’s demise results from its failures in objective journalism. It’s a shame journalists have forsaken a sacred constitutional right to a free press and deprived us of objective reporting. Journalists’ opinions are unnecessary. Facts, and only verified facts, are needed. We can then form our own opinions based on those reliable facts. It’s no accident many of your former readers now rely on other news sources. Some humility could be called for by asking some of The Post’s critics how it may become relevant again.  Then those who remain at The Post may earn their way back to prosperity the old-fashioned way, albeit with a smaller newspaper with only quality news.

Mary Kay Cassidy of Aurora said:

While I can’t claim to be a long-standing Post reader, since I only moved here seven years ago, I feel many share my point of view. The media in general has become a one-sided beast, not reporting the news with neutrality but choosing a political agenda. I definitely agree that a local news agency is important to a metro area as unique as Denver. But is it possible that many readers have tired of the biased reporting we have experienced in recent years? When news becomes one-sided, is it actually news or is it more like the yellow journalism of America’s past? Maybe it is time for The Denver Post to become the people’s news rather than choosing a left-leaning agenda. We can get plenty of that from Los Angeles and New York.

Regarding the newspaper's whine about having to face reality Kevin Payne of Denver wrote:

I have long been a reader and fan of The Denver Post and I believe that in addition to being a great paper, it also has an important role in the community. However, I find your editorial about your  job losses and the tenuous future of The Post to be misplaced and a bit arrogant. It reads to me as if you are stating the loss of your colleagues job is somehow sadder or more unfair than others in the community who have lost their jobs. In addition, you are putting the burden of your future on your ownership group and your customers, and that is just a miss. If you put out a relevant and good product in the form that your customers will buy and your advertisers will invest, you will survive. If you don’t, you wont. That is the same environment and level playing field every business plays on. Why should it be different for The Denver Post?

I don't really know if the Denver Post would be considered biased in favor of leftist policies and politicians or not, but I did look up a few things.

First their position on the legalization of marijuana, which has been partially legalized in Colorado.  They apparently published an article outlining what the impact has been on the state and it wasn't positive.  But in my view - that's a plus for them, however I don't know if they supported that move before it became law or not.

However, in 2012 they endorsed Barack Obama for a second term saying:

"And though there is much in Mitt Romney’s résumé to suggest he is a capable problem-solver, the Republican nominee has not presented himself as a leader who will bring his party closer to the center at a time when that is what this country needs."

"His comments on the 47 percent of Americans who refuse to “take personal responsibility and care for their lives” were a telling insight into his views and a low point of the campaign."

"Obama, on the other hand, has shown throughout his term that he is a steady leader who keeps the interests of a broad array of Americans in mind."

"We urge Coloradans to re-elect him to a second term."

"Regardless of the outcome on Nov. 6, America is once again confronted with a daunting economic picture that requires bold action even before the next president takes the oath of office."

What could be more delusional than that?  Is this the kind of gobblygook Colorado readers contended with for so many years?  If so, the Post needs to go out of business.

In Cleveland we have the Cleveland Plain Dealer (PD) and it's been a rag for years, but a very successful rag, until the Internet.  Before the Internet began exposing what was really going on in the world we had to pretty much take the paper's views as legitimate reportage.  Now we know better, but I continued to buy it for the crossword puzzle and the sports section. 

A friend of mine who once worked at the Plain Dealer asked if I thought they'd be in business in five years, and I said no, I didn't think so.  He said on his street he didn't know anyone, including him, who was subscribing to the paper. 

The price of newspapers had always been minuscule because the real money came from advertising.  That's changed as the price of the daily edition of the PD is $1.50 and $2.25 for Sunday editions.  Is it any wonder no one is subscribing, and that price is not worth the crossword puzzle, and since I've stopped watching sports - I don't care what's in the sports section.  If I'm going to pay a lot for a newspaper I'll pay more for the Wall Street Journal and get real news. 

I also wonder at the demographic of those who are still subscribing.  Do we really believe the younger audience, who can't seem to look up from their phones to know if the rest of the world is even awake, are going to be their subscribers now or in the future?  I doubt that.  My 93 year old mother is still a subscriber and I'm willing to bet that's a big demographic for their subscriber base.  Time is not on their side.

Then advertisers got tired of paying extremely high prices for small results and when readership declined and the Internet became the source for news and opinion, not to mention the source to search for virtually everything everyone buys - advertisers left - and the PD dropped down to publishing four days a week including Sunday. 

Here's the reality for newspapers, publishers, editors and staff - just like the Yellow Pages, newspapers as we know them are doomed, and for a host of reasons, but make no mistake about this - competition will bring us the news we need and want, whether it's in print form or not, and the liberal bias that exists in their little world of head nodding self congratulations will go the way of the dodo, and the rest of us won't much care because newspapers are not sacred institutions!  Welcome to the real world!

The Media's Correspondents' Dinner Orgy

While President Trump rallied working class voters in Michigan, the Media-Industrial complex in Washington D.C. threw itself a narcissistic orgy known as the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The Dinner is, in theory, a charity event. But the only people who know that are reporters and Jeopardy trivia champions. In between the celebrity appearances and the obscene taunts aimed at women who work in the Trump administration, the media orgy is supposed to be fundraising to send kids to college.

Sure.

The White House Correspondents’ Association went from spending 60% of its take on scholarships in 2009 to 23% in 2015. This year, the WHCA boasts that it’s spending $134,500 on scholarships.

That’s comparable to its executive compensation.

The Correspondents’ Dinner sells tickets. Buy a ticket and you get to sit next to a celebrity while listening to another unfunny Daily Show alum yell obscenities at the president and his staffers. It’s for charity.

"The dinner is not about the president, it's not for or against the president," Margaret Talev, the WHCA boss, insisted on CNN. “It's about elevating good journalism and embracing the first amendment."

I haven’t heard this many lies in one sentence since Hillary Clinton’s last book tour.

The Dinner does much better when the president shows up. That’s why the media is fuming that Trump stood them up twice. If the President is a Dem, he merits a bootlicking. If he’s a Republican, then his daughter gets compared to a box of tampons.

The WHCD and the WHCA have the same relationship to good journalism that vampires have to sunlight.

Since Talev loves “good journalism” so much, here’s what her dinner is actually about.

In 2016, the Dinner’s gross receipts were $806,250. It spent $452,817 on facilities cost as part of the $553,719 spent on the dinner. The entertainment came to $24,191. That was the year Larry Wilmore (unfunny Daily Show alum #8), wrapped things up by telling Barack Obama, “You did it, my n___!”

That’s what you see if you watch the highlights on YouTube. But Washington D.C. insiders know that the circus at the Hilton is just the hub for parties across town with numerous special interest sponsors.

The theme of the Correspondents’ Dinner this year (and every year) is the First Amendment. So the Beer Institute held a Toast to the First Amendment with lots of free booze. And if you really love the First, you can join CNN at the Playboy party with bunnies and more booze. “We’re here to celebrate the First Amendment and freedom of the press,” Hugh Heffner's son said.

It began with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) hosting “WHCD Kickoff Cocktails”. The mega-agency had been famously at the center of Hollywood’s Harvey Weinstein #MeToo scandals and was dubbed by Rose McGowan as a “company of pimps that sent so many into the monster’s lair.”

But no need to ask tough questions when the booze is flowing. It’s all for the First Amendment.

The diseased media orgy concluded on Sunday with CNN's "Alice in Wonderland" Political Hangover brunch with giant cards featuring distorted pictures of Trump and 4,000 roses forming the CNN logo.

The venus flytrap might have been more apt. Once the truth gets into CNN, it gets trapped and dies.

This is what the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is actually about and it has less to do with the First Amendment than Don Lemon posing with Playboy bunnies. The Dinner is an excuse for D.C. jornos to stumble drunkenly through parties, network, mingle and say nasty things about President Trump.

It’s a Roman orgy tailored to manufacture new #MeToo scandals months and years from now.

It’s a series of parties, many of them hosted by big media institutions like the Washington Post, MSNBC and CNN that are sponsored, in part or whole, by trade groups, lobbies and corporations. The violations and conflicts of interests are almost as bad as the unwanted drunken gropings in Adams Morgan bars.

How much does all this stuff cost? Millions? Tens of millions? Who’s paying for it and what are they getting in exchange from their media partners? Don’t ask. Questions like that might be journalism.

But it’s for the children, the First Amendment and the dolphins (probably).

The media-industrial complex fumed that President Trump had the temerity to skip out on this wholesome family entertainment. He wasn’t even in the audience when Michelle Wolf (unfunny Daily Show alum #11) compared his daughter to an empty box of tampons. How dare he miss out?

Imagine the way the hungry Roman lions might have felt if the Christians just hadn’t shown up.

"Historically presidents have felt that it's important to send the signals, both to Americans and to the rest of the world, that they support this sort of quintessential part of American democracy,” the WHCA’s boss said reprovingly.

Do we really want the world to get the impression that we support the quintessential democracy of huge media corporations getting their talent very drunk while insulting the judgment of the voters? The Correspondents’ Dinner doesn’t embody the First Amendment. It’s the dumpster fire of a powerful oligarchy that decided sometime around 1962 that with enough power and lies it could run the country.

The signal the White House should be sending is to hell with it and the vomit-coated Uber it rode in on.

Who decided Michelle Wolf should be the public face of the WHCD? Wolf has a Netflix show coming up and her agency, UTA, also represents a horde of big jorno names, including Anderson Cooper, Chuck Todd, and Don Lemon. UTA also threw a pre-party titled, “Celebration of America’s Journalists”, that will celebrate its media clients and Wolf. And Wolf’s new notoriety means big bucks for UTA.

“We are seeing that the intersection between politics, entertainment, and news is stronger than ever before, and we want to be at the center of that," Jay Sures, UTA's co-boss, declared.

There is no journalism or news, it’s all entertainment.

According to Sures, the number one concern among his clients is that “they are regarded as ‘fake.’”

Why would anyone thinking that talking heads sitting on a high chair and reading off a teleprompter before going off to get drunk while their assistants bash Trump from their Twitter accounts are fake?

Michelle Wolf is as much of a newsperson as Don Lemon or Anderson Cooper. The only difference between the Daily Show alums and their CNN/MSNBC counterparts is that the Dailys practice goofy grins in the mirror while the CNNers try out grave expressions, but both use the same faux outraged look.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner perfectly captures the media-industrial oligarchy in flight.

It’s not about journalism, truth or the First Amendment. The same oligarchy partying the entire weekend for the First Amendment has been doing everything it can to crush the opposition press. Its members believe that Playboy is journalism and the conservative media outlets they’re fighting to banish from Facebook and Google aren’t. And that is how the media approaches all its “reporting”.

The crooked media of a corrupt party knows its business. Smear the opposition and get feted.

Democrats exist only to be praised and Republicans only to be crushed. The Correspondents’ Dinner licked Obama’s wingtips while taking cheap shots at Trump, his staff, his family and anyone who ever met him in the last twenty years. And then its talent sleep off their hangovers and whine that Trump’s refusal to show up to be insulted by UTA’s latest moneymaking bid is an attack on the First Amendment.

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is a corrupt institution that hardly anybody reports on because it embodies a corrupt media-industrial complex choking on its own conflicts of interest, abuses, ethical violations, sexual assaults, lies, frauds and utter lack of credibility with 90% of the country.

Or, as the media describes anything that tells those truths, an attack on the First Amendment.

Saving the First Amendment means freeing the press from the corrupt oligarchy choking it to death. The free press has been tied up and locked in the basement of a Washington D.C. and New York clubhouse whose stories are brokered by shadowy fixers and fed to them by organizations like Fusion GPS.

If you want to understand the dismal state of the free press in this country, imagine if the only news that 90% of Americans got came from the press releases and lobbyists of GE, Amazon and UTA.

That’s exactly the situation in America today. Only some of the names are different.

Freedom of the Press will not return to this country until the last girder falls from the last media-industrial corporate headquarters on the last White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

But until then you can stop by the Reuters WHCA brunch where the stars of Top Chef will serve members of the press. And then it’ll be time to push the Mueller coup against the 2016 election.

Don’t worry. It’s all for the First Amendment.

Journalism is Dead

This week we saw a perfect example of how corrupt journalism has become. There was an opportunity to report the news and journalists and their fellow travelers in the pundit class balked. While that wasn’t unusual, what was is how they did it in the lead up to the news, not bothering to wait until they’d seen what they were attempting to discredit. There was an unprecedented attempt to make the release of the FISA memo NOT NEWS before anyone knew what was in it.

 

Over the past two weeks, Democrats scrambled to “warn” the public that the release of the FISA memo would “damage national security” were it released. Journalists picked up the mantra and ran with it, unquestioningly parroting it in badgering Republicans about why they would support its release considering this charge. There was virtually no discussion as to whether or not this allegation was true or an attempted partisan distraction, it was simply accepted and repeated as if it had been carved into stone tablets by a burning bush and sent directly to the teleprompter in their TV studios..........Once it was released to the public, the discussion shifted to anything but its contents or the fact that unverified Clinton campaign opposition research was used as justification to spy on an American citizen without disclosing that’s what it was.......To Read More.....

 

My Take - This charge that the release would endanger national security was a lie - the Democrats knew it was a lie, and the media was complicit in that lie.  Once it became obvious it was a lie, it was now necessary to obviate the truth of what this memo exposed, and do anything they could to diminish the impact of how serious this is, and this is the tip of the iceberg. 

 

For those old enough to remember the Nixon Watergate scandal, you immediately recognize how far more serious this is compared to anything Nixon and his cronies did, and the media was frothing at the mouth. 

 

Journalistic integrity is an oxymoron.   

Franklin Graham Says Media is Complicit in “Coup” to Destroy Trump

One of the nation’s most prominent Christian leaders said he fears President Trump is facing a grave domestic threat by forces who want to take over the White House.  "I believe we are in a coup d'etat," Franklin Graham said Wednesday on the Todd Starnes Radio Show. "There are people in this country who are wanting to destroy the president and take over the government by force."

Graham revealed his concerns as congressional Republicans ramp up accusations that deep state actors within the FBI and the Justice Department may have been plotting against the president.

Why liberal media hate Trump

In the feudal era there were the “three estates” – the clergy, the nobility and the commons. The first and second were eradicated in Robespierre’s Revolution. The press conducts the inquisitions where heretics are blacklisted and excommunicated from the company of decent men, while others are forgiven if they recant their heresies...... conservatives have attacked the mainstream media attacking them. Plain Dealer: Example of Worldwide Editorial Disgrace!

On August 23, 2013 the Editorial Board of the Plain Dealer published an editorial titled, Time to stop dragging our feet on climatechange and acknowledge the imperative of international cooperation, citing a United Nations report saying:

“Climate change is real and it's our fault”.

I would like to know exactly what climate change are they talking about?  Is “Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW)” the change they are discussing?  Clearly that can’t be the case because the Earth stopped warming over 15 years ago. 

Perhaps they are unaware that atmospheric temperature readings never supported the AGW position from the beginning, and the ground readings were so corrupted by placement and equipment failures that those readings became scientifically worthless.  That makes this statement - "human influence on climate caused more than half of the observed increase in global average surface temperature from 1951 to 2010,” - by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change meaningless. 

Let’s take a look at this anyway. 

James Taylor recently published an article titled, More Global Warming Alarmist Games: Doctoring The Temperature Record where he asserts that that:

“alarmists claim we should trust their computer models even after the models have been proven inaccurate when measured against real-world data. As shocking as that assertion is, it pales in comparison to another common tactic employed by global warming alarmists: doctoring the real-world temperature data.”

So is this just a big mistake, or is it fraud?  There are things that all scientists (no matter which side of this issue they are on) must absolutely know for sure, and one of those incontrovertible facts is:

 “for more than 30 years now satellite data and surface station data have been available for analysis. Surprisingly, the scientists who oversee the collection of surface temperature data report more warming than the satellite data report. This tells us either that sources of artificial warming have not been properly filtered from the surface temperature data, or the warming of the past 33 years is not due to increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide.”

Taylor goes on to say:

“Climate scientist Roy Spencer, who oversees the NASA satellite instruments measuring global temperatures, reports that virtually all of the warming claimed by the overseers of U.S. surface temperature stations is the result of adjustments government-employed scientists make to the raw data. The objective, unaltered temperature readings show essentially no warming since 1973.”

In short, all of the projected steep temperature increases have failed to occur!

Then the PD goes on to state:

“denial about the human role in climate change has to end if the world hopes to keep major coastal cities such as New York and London above water. 

There have been articles that make truly alarming statements such as; “by 2100, scientists and computer models estimate that sea levels globally could rise as much as 3.3 feet,” and this study predicts that the East Coast could see “8 to 11 inches more” than this, hence “putting one of the world’s most costly coasts in danger of flooding….”. 

 I can understand how that would scare the average reader, but journalists are at the center of the information world; there is absolutely no excuse for them accepting this kind of scare mongering. 

It's all baloney!

All these numbers are made up based on computer modeling –Game Boy Science – and just as in programming a game they make adjustments that fit the scenario to which they subscribe.  In some video game that's no big deal, but in science it's - garbage in, garbage out.  In the real world of real observations, such as satellite measurements, no such rise is being detected at all.  Jo Nova reports in an article titled, Man-made sea-level rises are due to global adjustments, saying: 

“It’s well known and often quoted that sea levels have been rising by 2-3mm a year every year for the last 20 years. But it’s not well known that the original raw satellite data doesn’t show that at all. 

What astonished me was the sea levels first recorded by the Topex Poseidon satellite array showed virtually no rise at all from 1993-2001. Surely not, I thought. I asked sea-level expert Nils Axel-Morner, and he confirmed: “Yes, it is as bad as that.“ Now, given that Envisat (the European satellite) showed no rise from 2003-2011 (until it was adjusted) that means we have almost 20 years of raw satellite data showing very little rise. 

We thought satellites would finally give us a definitive answer on sea levels. Instead, like the tide gauges, and every other tool available to mankind, apparently satellites systematically underestimate the rising trends. And despite the speed of light being quite quick and all, it can take years for the data to finally arrive. Sometimes 4 or 5 (or 10 years) after the measurement was made scientists “discover” that it was wrong. 

Now of course, any one of these adjustments could be for very legitimate reasons and give us results closer to the truth. But the adjustments always bring data closer to the modeled trend. It’s decidedly non-random. Either there is a God who thinks teasing climate scientists is spiffy, or else there is something fishy going on, and some investigative journalists need to ask some investigative questions. Is that sea-level rise due to global warming or is it due to global adjustments?”

The PD editorial went on to claim:

“The Nobel Prize-winning group's fifth assessment on climate change declares that it is 95 percent certain that the burning of fossil fuels worldwide is making the planet warmer, melting ice caps at the poles and raising water levels throughout the world. (Its 2007 report made similar assertions with 90 percent certainty.) Avoiding that catastrophic scenario should be a top priority for all nations.”

Baloney is now being followed by horsepucky! 

That 95 percent certainty is based on what?  Not on CO2 measurements surely; because the CO2 levels have risen dramatically over the last 15 years and the so-called warming trend ended over 15 years ago.   That is one of the absolutes all these people must know.  If that is the case we have to conclude CO2 has no bearing on global temperatures, and that rationale is in harmony with history and what we see going in reality. 

I don’t think “New York, London, Shanghai, Venice and other cities” are going to have to worry about being “threatened by an almost two-foot deluge by 2100”, and as for the world erring on the side of caution…that is a plea for acceptance of the Precautionary Principle, which is a plea to return to the primitive.  It always sounds so reasonable, but it’s also irrational because we are totally incapable of correctly predicting the weather a week from now, let alone predicting what climate changes may or may not occur in ten, fifty or one hundred years from now.

Admittedly, weather isn’t climate; but since climate is far more complex than mere weather we need to get over this idea that we're going to predict it with computer modeling - or crystal ball gazing - nor do we have the ability to control it.  The natural forces that control the Earth’s weather patterns and climate are powerful and unpredictable.  Most importantly; our ability to alter either may make for a great science fiction story; but make no mistake about this.......it’s still fiction. 

The PD Editorial Staff concluded that if we didn’t accept the conclusions of the United Nations IPCC disaster was in the making, and “That would be a worldwide disgrace.”

What is really a disgrace is the Plain Dealer’s quality of journalism.  Journalism of this order may create bigger problems for the PD than merely cutting down on how many days they publish.  Their continued existence as a publishing entity may become their next big concern; and if this is the best they have to offer....it should be!
