Our French Revolution

Today Victor Davis Hanson published this article, Our French Revolution, and starts out saying: 

We are in a Jacobin Revolution of the sort that in 1793-94 nearly destroyed France. And things are getting scary.  The Democratic Party vanished sometime in 2020. Hard-left ideologues absorbed it. They were bent on radically altering, or hijacking, existing institutions to force radical, equality-of-result agendas that otherwise do not earn majority support.   

He then went on to itemize all the insanity these modern day Jacobites, aka, Democrats, have perpetrated on America, and the insanity they're attempting to impose on the nation, versus what the America people actually want.  I've broken down this commentary into two categories.  What Americans want, I've listed six.  And and what Americans don't want, I've listed seventeen.  This is an oversimplification of his commentary, but it hits the highlights. 

There are only six things American really want, and they are:

1. Affordable power and fuel, and energy autonomy. 
2. Fiscal sobriety.
3. Solid borders. 
4. Realistic foreign policy. 
5. As crime free a society as possible. 
6. Stable non-tyrannical government.
   

Here are seventeen things Davis lists regarding what America doesn't want:  

1. Court packing.
2. End of the filibuster, 
3. Destruction of the Electoral College
4. Overriding the states' prerogatives to establish balloting laws.  
5. Denying the committee assignments of the House minority leader.
6. Stunts like tearing up the State of the Union address on national television. 
7. Allowing mobs to attack the homes of Supreme Court justices to leverage their decisions.  
8. University administrators leading disruption of conservative speakers.
9. District attorneys refusing to charge criminals. 
10. Releasing violent criminals without bail. 
11. The Pentagon lecturing the nation on its supposed innate racism. 
12. Woke generals who call their Chinese counterparts to warn them against their own commander-in-chief.
13. Allowing communist China to surveil domestic American military bases with impunity.
14. National intelligence officers and FBI directors and agents lying under oath. 
15. Weaponization of the IRS and other federal agencies against political opponents.   
16. Voter fraud. 
17. Biological males hijacking women's sports. 

Definition leads to clarity, and one of the things the left is amazingly adept at in order to eliminate clarity of thought, is their penchant to redefine words.  As an example: 

"Racist" now means "don't dare object." "White" became the pejorative stereotype used by racists. "Diversity" means tired orthodoxy. "Equity" is a synonym for bias. "Inclusion" ensures exclusion.  

History is everything.  It's the foundation for a stable society, so what's the left do?  They change actual history in favor of farcical and fallacious history.  Hanson notes:

Like the Jacobins, names, and dates had to be radically transformed. 1619, not 1776, is now America's birth date, and, we are told, it was an ignominious one. 

He goes on to ask, "What triggered the collective madness and this Jacobin takeover"?  Hanson then lists the following: Rioting, looting, the false pandemic hysteria which allowed massively tyrannous actions by the federal and state governments.  

Donald Trump's election shocked and terrified the left, and all the outrageously illegal actions of the Biden administration against Trump now to make sure he's not re-elected, all of which has absolutely outraged the nation.  The end result?  He ends with these three options:

1. First, the Jacobins have two more years to finish what they started as the founders' dream descends into our worst nightmare.
2. Second, the revolution has so warped our legal system, our voting on Election Day, and the FBI, the CIA, the Justice Department, and the IRS that even a despised, unpopular Left will "win" elections.
3. The third is that New York Prosecutor Alan Bragg has jumped the shark.

He goes on to note, and I think rightly so:

[Bragg's] pathetic prosecution is so patently incoherent, illiberal, and in spirit anti-American that two-thirds of the country will soon conclude the center is not holding. The Jacobins' reign of terror is unsustainable.

Their goal is to defeat the one man who has made it clear if elected he will dismantle the leftist state.  That's Trump's goal.  What should be the conservative goal?  Defeat the left so soundly it has no credibility.  Destroy the two tier system of justice they've perpetuated.  Then go after the very real criminals in and out of government, including the Bidens and the Clintons, making sure they're investigated and charged for the crimes they've committed, tried, found guilty and sentenced to prison, right along with the deep staters who enabled their criminal activity. 

Until these people end up in prison, nothing will be fixed.
