The World as I See It: The 2018 Midterms

By Rich Kozlovich

When Harry Truman was running for his own term as President of the United States he was criticized by some in his party for not running like a Republican, whatever that meant at the time. Harry told them if the public had a choice between a Republican and a Republican they'd choose a Republican every time. So he created a coalition of blacks, the white working class and unions as his base, and he won, and it was a winning coalition for decades.

That coalition has changed a bit for the Democrats.

The ascendant coalition consists of abortionists, blacks, Hispanics, feminists, gays, public employee unions, environmentalists, college kids and wealthy white liberals, all of whom have drifted into fever swamps of the left. Many of whom don't think the Democrat Party is anywhere near sufficiently to the left in order to fulfil their hallucinatory visions. They "Feel the Bern".

California Democrats treatment of Diane Feinstein is just one such example. Remember - to a leftist- there are no boundaries to the left when it comes to undermining the Constitution and the foundational Judaic/Christian values of America.  They reject her because she's unwilling to drift entirely into leftist insanity.

The Democratic National Committee chairman Tom Perez criticized the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) for not supporting a far left Democrat, Laura Moser, running for Congress in Texas. The DCCC criticized her saying, “Democratic voters need to hear that Laura Moser is not going to change Washington,” and criticizing her as a “Washington insider.” In short - the DCCC thinks she's too far to the left to be elected.

But Tom Perez doesn't care, and like all leftists he recognizes one vision and one vision only - there can be no boundaries to the left, there can be no distance too far to the left that’s unacceptable. Most importantly, there can be no compromise in attaining the goal of destroying the Constitution.

They've won a couple of special elections recently, but I view that as anomalous as to what will happen during the mid-terms.

The Democrats have abandoned the cause of the white working class considering them racist, sexist, Islamophobic, Xenophobic, homophobic who bitterly cling to their Bibles and their guns. All of whom Hillary Clinton declared are a "basket of deplorables". An irredeemable basket of deplorables, and according to Hillary, they're not America! And the Democrats applauded.

So, what are the only conclusions left for these deplorables? The government not only let them down, it has turned on them. The capital generation created by the baby boomer generation has been raided and mismanaged to the point their secure retirement is in question, including those retirement plans managed by unions, which have either degenerated or disappeared entirely. It's clear to them those in power are not interested in white middle class Christian conservatives, their children or their grandchildren, and will do anything to undermine them as a component of society until they no longer exist.
"This is the difference between liberalism and the kind of individual we are facing today with leftism. Leftism is an aggressive mutation of radical liberalism that not only has escalated its Marxist demands on the country but has shown little regard for the detrimental consequences it produces."- Rick Hayes
It's clear the generations behind the Baby Boomers do not have the numbers or the economic wherewithal to maintain the retirement needs and promises made to the boomers without huge tax increases or major cuts in benefits, and it might require both. Social Security will no longer be self-sustaining by 2020, and bankrupt by 2030, and it’s my view that after 2020 the debt load being incurred by the world’s nations is going to lead to a major worldwide economic downturn.

It’s also my belief China and Russia will face economic collapse and Europe will erupt into civil wars that will lead to major confrontations between Muslims and ethnic Europeans, and that will finally bankrupt Europe forever. Turning Europe into a proliferation of smaller states as is happening in Spain, and some nations will cease to exist as independent nations entirely. A trend I think will extend into Russia and China. All of which will create long term problems that may be unfixable in much of the industrialized world.

The Democrats will trend toward candidates even more to the left than those in office now, and the Republicans will be electing real conservatives in place of RINO's like Mitch McConnell.

Things will become even more rancorous in the Congress than anything we've seen in this country since the early days of the nation's founding when legislators challenged each other to duels or beat a member of the opposition with a cane.

I've predicted in the past the Congress will not only fail in finding collegiality, but leading up to the mid-terms they will in fact become even more divided and viscious than we’re currently seeing, much of which will be bordering on treason.

And that's the foundation and circumstances the Democrats confidently think will convince the nation to sweep them back into power in 2018!

Update: I've just watched a video which fits nicely with this article.  Please enjoy this Hillsdale College presentation, "Taking Stock of Trumpism: Where It Came From, What It Has Accomplished, and Where It Is Going.", by Victor Davis Hanson.
