Fox News goes to war over allegedly 'gay' anchor

Website claims journalist demoted for broadcasting homosexuality   “Why hasn’t Shepard Smith come out yet?” asks the left-leaning website GawkerGawker claims the popular Fox News anchor was “silenced and punished” after approaching CEO Roger Ailes last summer about going public about his homosexuality.  But now Ailes and Smith are firing back, calling the story “100 percent false and a complete fabrication.”

“As colleagues and close friends at Fox News for 18 years, our relationship has always been rooted in a mutual respect, deep admiration, loyalty, trust, and full support both professionally and personally,” they wrote in a joint statement.  The Gawker story claims Smith approached Ailes and his Fox News colleagues about coming out of the closet after bringing his boyfriend, a 26-year-old Fox producer named Gio Graziano, to a small company picnic at Ailes’ home in 2013.  Ailes told Smith he could not come out because the network’s conservative audience would not tolerate a “gay” anchor, claims Gawker.....

My Take - This article may be right about a drop in viewership over this, but I didn't watch this guy because I didn't like his views. I always thought he was strange due to being arrogant, smarmy and loftily looking down on his audience. So ..... my viewership isn't at stake, and I may be wrong, but I'm inclined to think that will be the case for a lot of conservatives who just didn't like him! While I think homosexuality is wrong I would rather watch an intelligent, knowledgeable, conservative homosexual than a liberal heterosexual any day!

There really is an inescapable line drawn in the American sand, and it really is rather pathetic.  Over here on my side are tens of millions, dare I say a couple hundred million Americans and hundreds of millions more around the world who know, understand, grasp and celebrate the most powerful, natural instinct of mankind: the will to survive and the self-evident truth that we are all blessed with the inalienable individual God-given right to defend and protect our precious gift of life.  It’s called the right to keep and bear arms, for after all, unarmed and helpless is indeed unarmed and helpless. And though it is a choice, choosing to be defenseless is simply irresponsible and a clear and present dangerous invitation to evil to have at it...... This past weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Nugent family hung out and partied with tens of thousands of these wonderful freedom-loving families at the 143rd Annual National Rifle Association member meetings and convention.....there were more armed Americans with more firepower on their persons at this event than pretty much anywhere else on earth....... Write this down: Unarmed and helpless is unarmed and helpless. No cop worth his shield would ever allow themselves to be unarmed and helpless, and no one with a conscience would ever force anyone else to be unarmed and helpless........

'Far left group uses its hate listings to demonize conservatives'. For many years, the Southern Poverty Law Center has labeled groups with values it doesn’t tolerate as “hate groups” – but now the organization is taking its attacks a step further, demanding Amazon and PayPal blacklist bloggers and websites that don’t fall in line with its leftist agenda.

Headlined “Financing Hate” in the group’s Intelligence Report publication, the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC, listed 91 “hate groups” ranging from those clearly on the fringe to mainstream bloggers and websites such as Catholic Family News, Atlas Shrugs, Jihad Watch, WND and the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC.....
