The Left’s Plot Against George Washington

In Portland, the BLM mob toppled a statue of George Washington. Four years later, local leftist activists and officials have continued sabotaging efforts to restore it again. In New York City and Chicago, officials have discussed removing statues of Washington. And the Father of our Country isn’t even safe at the University of Washington where calls to remove him continue.

But the War on Washington isn’t just a recent phenomenon.

The Left didn’t want until George Washington was a statue to topple him. Newspapers like The National Gazette, The Philadelphia Aurora and The New York Time Piece, which were the vanguard of the emerging Democratic-Republican party, depicted him being led to the guillotine.

Democrats today claim that they oppose George Washington because he was a slave owner, but why did Democrats who were not only slave owners then but defended slavery (unlike Washington who favored liberating slaves and whose Washington Benevolent Societies were the organizing network for black conservative voters in the 1800s ) oppose him then?

Long before their relatively recent interest in organizing black people, American leftists were great enthusiasts of the French Revolution and favored bringing it to this country. My book, ‘Domestic Enemies: The Founding Fathers’ Fight Against The Left’, reveals how the Democrats got their start as the “French Party” built around “Democratic Societies” modeled on French radical Jacobin clubs and set up with the aid of foreign emissaries of the French Revolution.

George Washington’s great crime in the eyes of the leftists of his day was his refusal to turn over America to the forces of the French Revolution which was the USSR of its day. “Ten thousand People in the Streets of Philadelphia, day after day, threatened to drag Washington out of his House, and effect a Revolution in the Government, or compell it to declare War in favour of the French Revolution,” John Adams would later remember.

French Foreign Minister Charles Delacroix had urged Citizen Pierre-Auguste Adet, the French ambassador, to “use all means in his power to bring about a successful revolution, and Washington’s replacement.”

Washington, always a fighter, would not take the leftist campaign against him lying down.

In his address to Congress, President George Washington had warned of the threat of “certain self-created societies.” By those he meant the Democratic Societies. In a private letter he even more explicitly described how “these societies were instituted by the artful & designing members (many of their body I have no doubt mean well, but know little of the real plan),” by an agent of the French government “under popular and fascinating guises, the most diabolical attempts to destroy the best fabric of human government.” The Democratic Societies, he warned, were created to “sow Sedition; to poison the minds of the people of this country.”

First Lady Abigail Adams later wrote at the height of the crisis that, “France has setled her plan of subjugating America” through “Agents and Emissaries, whom with truth & reason she bosts of having thickly scatterd through our Country, saving her Principles, her depravity of Manners, her Atheism in every part of the united States” so that “she will seduce the mind & sap the foundation of our strongest pillars, Religion & Government.”

“And if there be a Nation on Earth capable of going the necessary lengths, and making the proper Sacrifices to stop its course,—it must be one that is already possesed of substantial Liberty, that knows how to appreciate it, & how to distinguish between it, and that Sort of Liberty which France is trying to propogate throughout the World.”

That “sort of liberty” with its depravity, as opposed to American liberty, was the Left.

And in ‘Domestic Enemies: The Founding Fathers’ Fight Against The Left’, I describe the rise of the American Left and its violent and treasonous plots against Washington and America.

Despite the threats and attacks, George Washington not only refused to give in to the Left, but five years away from death and suffering from arthritis and hearing loss, he became the first and last president to lead troops in the field when he rode out to confront the Whiskey Rebellion.

“We are ready for a state of revolution and the guillotine of France,” the leader of the Mingo Creek Democratic Society had declared. But the guillotine proved no match for George.

Washington rode out with the troops because he feared that America was on the verge of falling to “mob or Club government” under which “there can be no security for life—liberty—or Property”. While Washington won the battle, he earned the undying enmity of the Democrats.

In his Farewell Address on leaving office, George Washington warned about the “mischiefs of the spirit of party” which “opens the door to foreign influence and corruption”.

Both the French and their leftist allies in America were furious at Washington’s message.

“If ever there was a period for rejoicing, this is the moment,” the Philadelphia Aurora responded. “This man who is the source of all the misfortunes of our country is this day reduced to a level with his fellow citizens.”

Adet, the French ambassador, sent a copy of the Farewell Address to his government while raging against “the lies it contains, the tone of insolence”. Adet and the French regime launched a campaign of naval terror “to arouse the attention of the public at the moment of choosing the electors who must choose the President.” The campaign was treasonously coordinated “with our friends in Congress” who, according to Adet, “only saw me last winter in secret.”

But attempting to terrorize Americans backfired badly. Adams responded to French attacks on American ships with the Quasi-War and Jefferson refused to end America’s neutrality.

Nonetheless the Democratic Societies influenced the new Democratic-Republican Party and American leftists continued to dream of bringing the French Revolution to these shores.

A toast at the Democratic Society of Philadelphia envisioned France’s revolutionary movement spreading until it will “have the whole earth for its area, and the arch of heaven for its dome.”

That mission outlived George Washington and the French Revolution. It continued on through European revolutions, the Communist takeover of the Soviet Union and it still continues today.

That is why leftists really want Washington to fall.

Eloi and Morlocks in Portlandia

 9-year-old Hadar Kedem was playing with her father, brother, and family dog in a Portland city park when the gunmen came and the bullets began flying.

“They huddled up into this group and we thought they were going to do a race or something, but instead they pulled out guns and started shooting and then I got really scared,” the little girl told the Portland City Council. “There was a bullet that shot like four or five feet away from my right..”

The exchange of gunfire between over a dozen men was just one of the gang shootings that delivered Portland to what its police chief called a “grim milestone” of 1,000 shootings.

Black Lives Matter, Antifa, and the police defunding movement had taken Portland from 388 shootings in 2019 to over 1,000 this year. Murders in Rose City rose by 83% breaking its previous high score set in 1987. As the Black Lives Matter race riots got underway, Portland went from 23 shootings in March 2020 to 104 by July of that same year. By March 2021, there were 93 shootings. Gone were the pleasant days of 2019 when Portlanders might complain about 30 shootings. The summer of 2021 saw around 400 shootings: more than in all of 2019.

Rose City Park with its cedars and rose gardens located right next to a golf course is exactly the sort of amenity that its upscale residents moved there for. Now it’s a brutal war zone.

But trapped in their woke fantasies, the city’s Eloi can’t come to terms with what’s happening.

Shoshana Gugenheim Kedem, Hadar’s mother, an “insectional feminist” who “dismantles patriarchy”, and advocated for “Palestinian rights”, denounced her daughter’s “white privilege”.

“We are a white family of privilege,” the leftist hipster artist confessed. “No one in our family wants to see the result of this be more police presence at parks. That’s not the answer.”

What was the answer?

Gugenheim insisted that instead of police, the solution to a dozen men opening fire in the park was dealing with root causes, "services for disadvantaged communities", "education", "gun control", and "a task force of people with equity training to tackle the issue of gun violence".

Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty, who had called for defunding the police before calling the police on her Lyft driver when he asked her to leave his car, welcomed Gugenheim’s nonsense.

But after years of dealing with root causes, offering more welfare and equity task forces, Portland tripled its shooting rate, and even the nicest places have become war zones.

Portland Democrats cut $27 million from the police budget. Over 200 police officers have left the force leaving the city with far more armed gang members than cops. The failing city has stopped investigating and intervening in some crimes not just because of the pro-crime ethos of BLM, but because the manpower doesn’t even exist to deal with the runaway crime wave.

“We are running on fumes. There’s no way we can investigate thoroughly, and correctly, all these shootings," Daryl Turner, the head of the police union, had warned.

But while the murderous Morlocks roam Portland, its woke Eloi refuse to deal with reality. They munch their soy, graze at trendy eateries, and huddle in their parks when the bullets fly.

“The Eloi, like the Carlovignan kings, had decayed to a mere beautiful futility. They still possessed the earth on sufferance,” H.G. Wells wrote in The Time Machine of a future humanity divided between the decadent Eloi who play all day and the Morlocks who live in the dark and prey on them. The Portland Eloi, like their fellow coastal city hipsters, possess their cafes and parks on a sufferance that vanishes when the gun-toting Morlocks come out of the darkness.

Not even bullets flying next to their children’s faces can prompt anything except recitations of hollow dogma. Gugenheim did not blame the thugs who now freely roam the city without fear of the police for the gunfight in Rose City Park, but the desire of her “neighbor to own guns”.

Even though any armed neighbors would be the final line of defense for her family.

How do you stop a dozen men with guns from opening fire in a park? With a dozen other armed men who are willing to put their lives on the line to stop them. The Portland cops, the armed men that the financial analysts and artists like the Gugenheim-Kedems had been paying to protect them from the brutal realities of human nature, increasingly no longer want the job.

And that’s how their son and daughter wound up dodging bullets in the park.

"Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth," Mike Tyson used to say. “A conservative is a liberal who has been mugged by reality,” Irving Kristol observed. He added though that some liberals “refuse to press charges”.

In her letter to the Portland City Council, Gugenheim denounces individualism and freedom, "the gun laws in this country that obscure us from our freedoms rather than maintain them", and calls for a collectivist "freedom that nourishes interconnectedness, interdependence not the fierce

independence for which gun supporters are staking ground."

The interdependence of the herd animal whose only herd instinct is denial and is incapable of even banding together for mutual protection.

“I could talk about the fear in which children are being raised today. Fear to go to the playground, to walk down the street at night or even during the day,” she pleads.

"And why were they so terribly afraid of the dark? I proceeded, as I have said, to question Weena about this Underworld, but here again I was disappointed. At first she would not understand my questions, and presently she refused to answer them. She shivered as though the topic was unendurable," H.G. Wells' Time Traveler relates.

Why are the mothers and the children of the Portland Eloi so afraid? They know the Morlocks are there. And nothing in their intellectual degeneracy has prepared them to face the threat.

Guggenheim’s incoherent call to action blamed the fashionable culprit of "systemic racism" and insisted that the "racism must be examined and reconciled". But the only systemic racism here was the shutdown of a service that minority communities needed most of all. That’s why polls show that white people are more likely to support defunding the police than minorities.

Minorities are the canary in the crime coal mine. By the time upper class white people are dodging bullets, the situation is catastrophically bad because the warning signs were ignored.

When Jacob Eli Knight Vasquez was shot and killed in Portland, his brother-in-law pleaded, "Let’s please untie the hands of our law enforcement officers. I believe if the proper tools were in place for our law enforcement officers, this wouldn’t even have happened.”

Police defunding is the real systemic racism.

Not everyone in Portland is an Eloi. Firearms background checks increased 32% in Multnomah County. Without the police around, Portlanders have a choice between cringing in fear while prayerfully reciting passages from Ibram X. Kendi or defending their families.

"There is so much to say about the complexity and absurdity of a nine-year-old appealing to her city council to please, please find the means to protect her and others from such wanton violence," Gugenheim complained to the Portland City Council.

“I know that not only do I want change, but everyone wants change,” her fourth-grade daughter told the City Council. “I want to feel safe.”

But it's the City Council and her parents that placed her in danger.

Adults are supposed to protect children. It was the job of Hadar's parents to keep her safe by locking up criminals and empowering the police. They failed her and all the other children. And their only response to that failure is to double down on it, reciting the familiar doctrines, and throwing out worthless buzzwords, instead of doing anything practical to protect their city..

The only thing that will stop the violence is to bring back the cops and lock up the criminals. And that’s the one thing that the mother of a child huddling as bullets whizzed by refuses to do.

“I grieved to think how brief the dream of the human intellect had been. It had committed suicide,” Wells’ Time Traveler observed.

The suicide notes are scattered across the streets of Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The coastal cities that claimed to be on the leading edge of technology and culture have become hellholes where the Eloi elites tiptoe past human waste, dodge bullets while on a night out, and then huddle in their tiny apartments for fear of the Morlock hordes.

They believe that they are a superior race, standing on the right side of history, and ready to inherit a utopian earth, when they are really little more than a Morlock snack.

'Lawless city?' Worry after Portland police don't stop chaos

A crowd of 100 people wreaked havoc in downtown Portland, Oregon, this week – smashing storefront windows, lighting dumpsters on fire and causing at least $500,000 in damage – but police officers didn't stop them.  Portland Police Bureau officials say that's because of legislation passed by Oregon lawmakers this year, which restricts the tools they can use to confront people vandalizing buildings and causing mayhem.  “The reason that we did not intervene goes back to what we talked about last month with House Bill 2928 and the restrictions placed on us in a crowd control environment,” KOIN reports that Portland Police Lt. Jake Jensen said in a neighborhood meeting Thursday.

My Take - When Grant was President he once noted the best way to get rid of a bad law is to require it's strictest possible enforcement.  So, maybe, just maybe, this Chief of Police read a history book.  But even if he didn't, he apparently believes that.  Good for him!   Let em suffer, because until these leftists have to live with their insane thinking and confront that insanity and throw out all their "leaders" at all levels of Oregon's government this will never end. 

The EPA once said there's no training as good as a good civil penalty.  The suffering will be their history lived, and good for their future.  But if they don't learn from this insanity, it will be good for the rest of the nation as they will be an unending civics lesson on what not to do, along with Washington and California.  

Hmmmmm.... I just had a thought.  Does living along the coast of the Pacific with it's California Current cause insanity. 

Armed private security fills police void in downtown Portland where riots, shootouts occurred

Entire Portland Police crowd control unit resigns after officer indicted on protest assault charge

The team consisted of approximately 50 officers.

Members of a specialized Portland, Oregon, police unit that deals with crowd control have resigned from the assignment en masse a day after a fellow officer was indicted on an assault charge stemming from alleged illegal use of force during a protest last year.

The Portland Police Bureau's Rapid Response Team, which is primarily responsible for providing public safety at crowd events, consisted of approximately 50 officers, all of whom resigned Wednesday, the bureau announced. Portland mayor whose city was ransacked by rioters last summer says he's 'GRATEFUL' to Biden for rescinding Trump order that enabled feds to quell violence

My Take - This moron just got re-elected in November, and you wonder who the real morons are in Portland.  He's been punched and had his life threatened by these misfits and he still goes along, and as for the 'crackdown' he promised.  Almost all those cases have been either dismissed on not prosecuted and the remaining ones are expected to be dismissed.  Portland will not recover from this for decades and I'm glad, because they're getting what they're getting the old fashioned way.  They've earned it!

Disabled Portland Veteran Says Armed Black Lives Matter Agitators Beat, Hospitalized Him

A disabled war veteran in Portland said he was hospitalized for serious injuries after a group of Black Lives Matter (BLM) agitators attacked and beat him last week.  Joe Hall, 53, said that BLM protesters allegedly armed with rifles surrounded his car when he exited his work truck, Fox 12 in Portland reported. Hall said he was driving through the area after finishing a job to his next one, and the crowd stopped his work truck as they blocked the road—a common tactic used by the Marxist group.

“All of a sudden these agitators come out, screaming, pounding on my truck,” Hall told the Fox station, adding that when he tried to drive around the group, he stopped because he thought he hit something with his vehicle.

“By this time I’ve got five people surrounding my vehicle, AR-15s, AK-47s,” Hall, who served in the Marine Corps and Army, recalled. “I pulled my .38 out of my right pocket and pointed it at the ground and told them if a weapon points at me again, I will shoot to eliminate the threat.”

Hall said that someone then tackled him and grabbed his pistol before the group started kicking and hitting him, according to the station.  Describing his injuries, the veteran said he suffered a “partially collapsed left lung” along with broken ribs, a broken collarbone, head trauma, and spinal injuries.  “It looked like he was face down and then people were kneeling on top of him,” a witness told the Fox affiliate..........To Read More....

 

Rioters Set Fire to Federal Courthouse in Portland One Day after Fencing Removed

Rioters targeted the federal courthouse in Portland, Ore., on Thursday evening in renewed clashes between demonstrators and federal police.  The attack on the courthouse came one day after authorities removed fencing initially erected over the summer, in response to continued riots following the death of George Floyd, an African American man killed during his arrest by Minneapolis police officers.............Footage showed the rioters attempting to force their way into the courthouse while chanting “f*** the United States!” Later in the evening rioters set a fire outside the courthouse entrance.........To Read More.......

My Take - This question keeps coming up.  Who's funding these people?  Most people have homes and jobs to go to .....everyday..... how are these people living?  Do they have homes?  Do they have jobs?  Do they have responsibilities other than rioting?  Is anyone trying to find out?  Let's face it, if they have homes, how are they paying their bills?  If they have jobs how can they be away from them this long?  

I really do think someone needs to find out the answers to all of those questions, because it's clear to me someone is funding insurrection.  They are, in effect, a standing riotous army.  That takes funding, and it's called treason. 

 

Seattle and Portland finally decide they don't want rioting

Leaders in Oregon and Washington are finally pledging an end to near-nightly chaos caused by antifa and other radical groups they gave free rein to while former President Donald Trump was in office.

But they have a problem with their proposed crackdown. Bail reforms in liberal states are hoisting Democrats by their own petard, with police releasing people they've arrested and dropping all charges. It could mean that efforts to restore order now that President Biden is in office will prove ineffective.

"It strikes me as plausible that restrictions on the imposition of monetary release conditions (i.e., cash bail) and pretrial detention could mute some of the potential short-term benefits of ramping up arrests in response to unruly demonstrations and riots," said Rafael Mangual, a senior fellow at the right-leaning Manhattan Institute.

Several demonstrations against Biden's inauguration quickly turned violent in cities such as Portland and Seattle as activists hoped to send a message to the new Democratic administration that their gripes remain with the criminal justice system, climate change, and general economic inequality. The ISIS Propaganda to Kill Americans Was Coming From Near Portland

The year that the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Trump administration's Islamic terror state travel ban, an Iraqi member of ISIS applied for American citizenship.

Hawazen Sameer Mothafar didn’t have much to worry about. Not only was he already living in the United States, but under political pressure, Iraq had been taken off the travel ban list.

And no one would have suspected Mothafar of being an ISIS terrorist. He was in a wheelchair.

When Mothafar was asked at his immigrantion interview this year whether he was involved with a terrorist organization, he must have thought it was a formality. But three months later, Mothafar was under arrest, charged with lying to a government agency, and aiding ISIS.

Mothafar not only managed to get through an immigration interview while denying any terrorist ties, but he spoke in court through an Arabic translator, suggesting a poor grasp of English.

Not only did our immigration system make an alleged ISIS member a citizen, but took an immigrant with nothing to offer this country, who doesn’t even speak the language, and who, according to his lawyer, has to be cared for by his family, and welcomed him in.

Over a thousand Iraqi refugees have been resettled in Portland, Oregon. The small city of Troutdale near Portland, once an all-American locale perfect for picture postcards, has absorbed some of the spillover. And there was nothing all-American about Mothafar.

Mothafar hadn’t come to Troutdale for the annual summerfest parade (cancelled this year because of the pandemic) or hiking past waterfalls. When he came into town under the great ‘Gateway to the Gorge’ arch that’s Troutdale’s claim to fame, he was coming for Jihad.

While Mothafar is disabled, he could still use a computer. And that’s what he did.

A senior ISIS official said that when the Islamic terrorist group needed new email and social media accounts, it was Mothafar’s job to get "new accounts when we needed new accounts as soon as possible."

But Mothafar was allegedly doing a lot more than just providing tech support for the Jihad.

Mothafar claimed that he had been an ISIS supporter since 2014 when the Islamic terror group first gained worldwide attention. Last year, he made the ba'yat pledge, an oath of allegiance to the Caliph of ISIS, who would be caught hiding out and killed by the Trump administration later that same year, binding him to full unquestioning obedience to ISIS and to its leader. Such oaths are often taken before its members make some larger commitment to the terror group.

Earlier that year, Mothafar had ambiguously told an ISIS supporter that he wouldn't use his real name because, "if published for the foundation, it could mean 4 terror."

But in 2015, Mothafar had already been working on the ISIS media operation. He initially ran ISIS chat rooms and channels, but he later began working on Al-Anfal's Jihadist propaganda.

Al-Anfal is an ISIS online media outlet, but literally means the spoils of war. That chapter of the Koran has been used as code for campaigns of extermination against non-Muslims and different Islamic sects and populations. ISIS, many of whose members and leaders had come out of the ranks of Saddam Hussein's Baath Party, embraced Al-Anfal as a promise that its Jihad would echo the brutal Al-Anfal of Mohammed and of Saddam Hussein in his Anfal massacres.

The Koranic chapter of Al-Anfal contains some of the most brutal verses in the Koran, including its call for beheading,

“I will cast dread into the hearts of the unbelievers. Strike off their heads,” one verse declares.

When Al-Anfal launched in the fall of 2017, Mothafar "edited, produced, published, and disseminated" the Jihadist publication with its call for the mass murder of non-Muslims.

That included Americans.

The first issue featured a chart of the best places to stab victims in the "sensitive areas of the body". “Effective Stabbing Techniques,” like the other Al-Anfal Jihadist propaganda, was coming through a publishing process that took it, not through Baghdad, but through Oregon.

The December issue featured an article titled, "How Does a Detonator Work", and a picture of a burning Statue of Liberty with the caption, "Soon in the Heart of Your Lands."

Next year, Mothafar was assembling pictures of explosives and western cities, messaging, "the images of destroyed infidel cities will be useful." Propaganda like this played a crucial role in the alarmed responses to sophisticated ISIS posters threatening attacks on America.

Some of these posters warned that the ISIS terrorists were among us. What they did not mention was that one of these terrorists was in a wheelchair and living near Portland.

And was waiting to apply for American citizenship.

Right after the hearing, Mothafar was set free on the condition that he doesn't "disseminate any information in support of any designated terrorist organization", or leave Oregon.

And so the same system that allowed Mothafar to spread his hate set him loose again.

Removing Iraq from the list of travel ban countries was made for political reasons to avoid offending its government. Iraq is the epicenter of ISIS and of Islamic terrorism. The countries with the most Muslim refugees are also generally the ones with the worst terrorist problems.

Mothafar’s immigration paperwork, mentioned in the indictment, meant filling out a form that asks prospective citizens whether they've ever been associated with the Communist Party (to my knowledge, no one has recently been indicted for lying about this), any "totalitarian party" (a dubious category), or a "terrorist organization".

There are repeated mentions of Nazi Germany: a laudable if belated move that began long after most of the Nazi war criminals were already living here, and one that is no longer relevant because few Nazi war criminals are likely to be moving to America at this late date.

There is still no mention of ISIS or any Islamic terrorist group. The immigration paperwork hardly required Mothafar to lie because its questions are dated, some to the 40s or 50s, others with their obsession with guerrillas and paramilitary units to the Latin America of the 80s.

A generation that has made Islamic terrorism into the scourge of the free world is hardly reflected in our immigration system which is still screening for Communists, Nazis, and Latin American guerrilas and paramilitary units. It's a failure that sums up our failed response to 9/11.

There is only one single mention of terrorism in the form and it doesn’t reference Islam.

The only reason Mothafar got nailed for, among other things, making false statements in his immigration form and his citizenship interview, is that the authorities were already watching him. And based on the use of FISA surveillance in his case, it’s likely that he was accidentally swept up while the United States was monitoring ISIS members operating in Iraq and Syria.

Our immigration system hasn’t adapted to dealing with Islamic terrorism. And it’s not acting in the best interests of Americans. If it were, Mothafar, in a wheelchair, cared for by his parents, would never have been a candidate for immigration or citizenship in the United States.

Americans felt sorry for Mothafar. And, as usual, they paid the price.

Now, after, no doubt, spending a small fortune on caring for Mothafar over the years, the taxpayers will spend an even larger fortune on his trial, and then, probably, on his imprisonment, at which point he’ll become a full-time burden on the taxpayers, and then on his life after prison.

None of this would have been necessary if the United States would stop taking in Muslim refugees from terror states and then putting them through an immigration process that hardly even recognizes that we’ve spent a generation fighting Islamic terrorism from abroad.

“This defendant is a legal permanent resident of the United States who abandoned the country that took him in and instead pledged allegiance to ISIS and repeatedly and diligently promoted its violent objectives” US Attorney Billy Williams declared.

Were we really expecting anything else?

In the previous decade, Samir Khan, a Pakistani, had been churning out Jihadist propaganda for Al Qaeda's Inspire magazine from Queens, New York, and then Charlotte, North Carolina. Inspire's fare included, "Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom", which may have been used by the Boston Marathon bombers.

One of his articles was titled, “I Am Proud to Be a Traitor to America.”

When he was taken out alongside Al Qaeda leader Anwar Al-Awlaki, the Obama administration offered a condolence call to the Khan family, and, along with Al-Awlaki, Khan became a cause celebre for lefties and libertarians, and his family who accused the United States of "assassinating" him. The Mothafar case shows how little we’ve learned since then.

They can’t take pride in being traitors to America if we don’t let them in.

Portland Ends 2020 With Violence as Rioters Destroy Businesses and Throw Firebombs at Police

Authorities in Portland declared another riot near the federal courthouse shortly before the New Year after a large crowd of rioters clashed with police, smashed windows, and threw firebombs, according to police.

The riot was declared at about 11 p.m. after a crowd of between 80 and 100 protesters gathered earlier in the night in the area of Southwest Avenue and Southwest Main Street, with some in the crowd engaging in violence, according to a Portland Police Bureau (PPB) statement.

At least two Molotov cocktail-style firebombs and large fireworks were hurled and launched at riot police, the Mark O. Hatfield Federal Courthouse, and the Multnomah County Justice Center, police and video footage confirms. Some rioters also attempted to break into the justice center but failed to do so.

“Portland Police officers citywide had to be pulled from answering emergency calls to respond,” PPB officials said.............To Read More.....

My Take - When you allow thuggery to go unchecked, thuggery will grow.  Why does this lesson have to be learned over and over again?  It has to be learned over and over again because leftist lunatics always know better than history, tradition or the reality unfolding right before their eyes.   

They have a utopian vision that's never been achieved by the left anywhere in the world all throughout history.  Leftism is a failure, that's history, and that history is incontestable.   But they refuse to believe it, read it or hear it.   Portland elected leftist lunatics and are learning that history all over again, and because they're all fundamentally leftists, they'll keep electing lunatics.  

Portland is done!  People are going to abandon that city and who knows how many years it will be before it can return to its former state.  No wonder the rest of the state wasn't to secede from Oregon. 

Property rights thrown out of smashed windows as Democratic mayors flee

In a Twitter discussion back in July, Portland mayor Ted Wheeler (D) was all too eager to jump on the police reform bandwagon with his promise to address all of the

 "systematic inequities that exist in our societies." "And they are massive. And they are prevalent. And they're in every institution that we know." 

He egged the protests on and perpetuated the police brutality myth.

Meanwhile, businesses, some of them black-owned, burned as anarchy was overlooked, and what before was viewed as "peaceful protests" by Wheeler are now seriously violent situations that he must escape from. 

 That explains why he decided last week to hightail it out of his apartment/condo building complex and permanently relocate.Steering clear of the incensed mobs outside his condo, busy lighting fires and breaking windows, was top priority.

President Trump's offer to send federal assistance was met not only with Wheeler's vehemently arrogant refusal, but with his ludicrous  suggestion that the violence is treasured by Trump as his "only ticket to re-election" through the fear it evokes.

Portland's floundering mayor is not the only one of the elites who does not understand the meaning of safety, security, or how to go about enshrining the property rights of the general public.

Other leftist leaders hypocritically chose to shield their own skins when the going got tough, including St. Louis mayor Lyda Krewson (D), who temporarily vacated her home last week, and Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot (D), who, when faced with threats, ordered police to lock down her block and to stop even peaceful protesters from entering.

To protect one's own property is understandably instinctual.  The problem is that the only way to truly uphold this ideal is to protect everyone else's property rights as well.

The Democrat Lurch Back to the Primitive

Back in 2018 I started writing that the left was best understood as a reaction against the modern Double Revolution in science and the modern economy. I coined the idea that the left was a Great Reaction back to the past. At the time I thought I was being a bit naughty, telling our educated progressive friends that they weren’t progressive at all, but the real reactionaries of the modern world. 

I made up a maxim:

Socialism is a return to slavery; the welfare state is a return to feudalism; identity politics is neo-tribalism; reparations is neo-vengeance; activism a return to revolution... helpless victims are a return to sacrifice; totalitarianism is a return to the scapegoat; social justice is good old loot and plunder.

I had no idea that in 2020 the helpless transgender victim Vicky -- formerly Willie -- would be unctiously interviewed on NPR advocating In Defense of Looting. And what is the three months of mostly peaceful protest in Portland, Oregon, but a return to the woke tribe’s defense of the streets of “their” Portland against the evil foreign tribe of the racist-sexist-homophobes.

On Saturday night the mostly peaceful protesters in Portland shot a man wearing a “Patriot Prayer” hat. Well, of course. How dare, how dare a Trump supporter show his ugly face in progressive Portland! Portland is woke territory and don’t you forget it, bigot..............

The problem for our educated class, the creatives, is to discover a new Meaning of Life, living as they do in the age after the Age of Revolution and, I believe, after the Age of Politics. It would be a life that is higher and nobler than teaching “oppressed peoples” to thirst for vengeance and beating up the white working class just for the thrill of it.

Progressive community leaders call for Portland mayor, police chief to resign

A group of leaders representing various progressive organizations from across the Portland area have called for the resignations of Mayor Ted Wheeler and Police Chief Chuck Lovell in the wake of Saturday’s fatal shooting.  Bobbin Singh, executive director of the Oregon Justice Resource Center, said the conditions leading up to the incident were predictable citing various instances of clashes between right-wing protesters and counter demonstrators over the years.

“These conditions have been created because there’s been a lack of leadership, a lack of vision,” Singh said. “We can no longer move forward with the current leadership that’s in place in Portland.”
The victim of Saturday’s shooting has not been identified but was wearing a hat bearing the logo of Vancouver, Washington-based Patriot Prayer. Leader Joey Gibson told The Oregonian/OregonLive that although he couldn’t provide a name, the deceased man was “a good friend and a supporter” of the organization.

The group regularly staged demonstrations in Portland that were met with fierce opposition by left-leaning and other community groups for at least the last three years. Many of the scenes that typically played out during those rallies repeated Saturday as right-wing demonstrators pelted counter protesters with paint balls and scuffles broke out throughout downtown..........“What took place last night was inevitable given Mayor Wheeler’s repeated failure,” the letter said. “He has not protected or supported Portlanders. My Take - Try and get this right. These are still progressives, left wing lunatics.  The Mayor and the Chief of Police are their picks, and I'm sure if they'd been all law and order types, the Chief of Police nor the Mayor would have those jobs.  Even while condemning one of their own, as if they would have done so much better, they're still trying to spin this to blame conservatives. Portland is getting the government they asked for and the suffering they're undergoing is well deserved.  Portland is doomed, and who cares?  The states these lunatics will eventually move to.

Democrat Violence Takes a Life in Portland

Democrats endorsed and funded the riots, now they pretend to condemn them.

 Mayor Ted Wheeler recently told Oregon Public Radio that his only strategy for dealing with the violence in Portland is to let it "burn itself out."  The admission came after he falsely claimed that Federal law enforcement’s presence was “leading to more violence” only to see the leftist violence continue to grow after the pullout deal.  On August 28, Mayor Wheeler tweeted a letter that he wrote to President Trump turning down his offer of federal law enforcement aid while insisting that, "There is no place for looting, arson, or vandalism in our city."

That was and is an obvious lie.

Several days earlier, Wheeler had let slip his now infamous “burn itself out” line while suggesting that the so-called ‘non-violent’ protests “won’t end for quite some time.”  After a pro-Trump activist was shot by one of the leftist rioters whom Mayor Wheeler had enabled, the Democrat boss began his comments on the shooting by denouncing President Trump and his supporters who had traveled in a caravan flying Trump 2020 flags...........To Read More....

“Peaceful” Riots Continue

Portland burns, while the media and the Democrats fiddle.

Three months in, violent demonstrations in Portland show no sign of ending. Police have declared eight riots in the first half of August and a total of 17 since the protests began at the end of May. More than 100 arrests have been made in the past three weeks alone.

National media have been mostly silent on this story, showing interest only in the presence of federal protective agents in the city. The disparity in attention is not hard to figure. For a press so rigorously set on opposition to the Trump administration, the only story of interest in Portland was the authoritarian implications of the president’s executive order aimed at protecting federal property.

Insofar as the presence of serious and sustained violence on the part of the protesters was acknowledged at all by left-leaning media and Democratic Party functionaries, it was described as a reaction to Department of Homeland Security officers supposedly provoking unrest in the midst of an otherwise peaceful event. But this narrative is getting harder to maintain as the destruction continues, since federal law-enforcement officers have mostly left........

Democratic leaders owe it to voters to be honest about their disposition toward this mayhem. A June poll showed that the majority of Americans—including 48 percent of Democrats and 52 percent of Independents—supported sending in the military to “supplement police forces” struggling to respond to the recent uprisings in cities throughout the country.  My Take - Everyone (among the sane anyway) are against public disorder, rioting, rampage, rape and murder, and want something done about it. But when it's done they're outraged at how it's done. 

Let's try and get this right. Putting down riots with platitudes won't work. It takes hard tough men with guns who are willing to do what needs to be done to bring it to an end.   It really is that simple. 

Riot Takes Place in Portland Hours After Police Chief Offers Solution to Violence

 Unrest in Portland continued on Aug. 19 as a mob marched to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building and broke windows after assaulting police officers. Crowds in the hundreds have been gathering on a nightly basis in Oregon’s largest city since May 28. On most nights, members commit acts of violence.

Recent events have been organized by PNW Youth Liberation Front, an Antifa-linked group.
People gathered in Elizabeth Caruthers Park in south Portland and marched half a mile to the ICE building.  “These people began shining lights and lasers at federal officers located inside of the building. When are Local and State Governments Illegitimate?

Watching “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Monday night, my stomach turned and heart sank.  Carlson ran video footage of a couple in Portland being dragged from their pickup truck and beaten.  Their sin: their whiteness.  The culprits, BLM thugs.

There were no police to intervene.  Portland police, like Seattle and Minneapolis police, are practically neutered.  Police are hamstrung, defunded, and demoralized in these cities.  Many have handed in their notices.  National Guard deployments are verboten.  Curfews are nonexistent.  The human excrement that pummels innocents to within inches of their lives are ghouls prowling the night.  They’d come for us, if they could. 

This descent into hell is enabled by so-called progressive Democrats in the aforesaid cities and Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, and wherever next.

The progressives have names:

• Ted Wheeler, 
• Jenny Durkan, 
• Jacob Frey -- 

all mayors -- along with numerous council members. And governors,

•  Kate Brown, 
• Jay Inslee, and 
• Tim Walz.  
• Add Lori Lightfoot, 
• J.B. Pritzker, 
• Bill de Blasio, 
• and Andrew Cuomo to the roster.

All -- all -- have taken oaths of office to uphold the law and attend to the public safety.  They are glaringly derelict in their duties. These elected leaders aren’t simply craven, they’re complicit in the violence and destruction that bedevils their cities. 

• They see the mobs in the streets.
• They witness the destruction.
• They are apprised of the violence.
• They know innocents are being harmed.
• They know citizens cower behind locked doors.
• They know -- know – that the least among their constituents are the most vulnerable to the predation. Yet they permit the mayhem.
• They let the mobs roam.
• They fiddle as their cities burn.

These elected leaders are, in fact, aiding and abetting insurrections.  Their inactions are actions.  They hate America, the America of the founding, the America of liberty and the rule of law.  They learned to detest the nation growing up in “progressive” households and on college campuses.  What other conclusions can we draw?  Today, we finally know: scratch a progressive and you uncover a revolutionary...........
