Definition Lead to Clarity, and Both Are Sorely Lacking!

One of my 200 rules is:  Definition leads to clarity.  Clarity leads to understanding.  Understanding leads to wisdom.  Wisdom leads to good decision making.  And now you know why there are so many stupid decisions being made, a failure to define things properly.

Let's start with the idea "character counts"!  Recently Paul Ryan just had to tell the world he wasn't voting for Donald Trump because "character" matters.  Okay, so, since he doesn't like Trump's character, the implication he does like Biden's character, the corrupt head of a crime family.

It's really interesting since that's exactly what Cindy McCain said, "character counts", so she's supporting Joe Biden! Imagine that. The implication is that Biden, and the McCain's, were exemplars of good character, while Trump is the prime example of bad character, thus disqualifying him for the Presidency. 

Okay, he's certainly had his character issues, no one can dispute that, but Cindy McCain calling anyone's character into issue is really rich.  Her husband had a lifetime of character issues that were questionable, and using the world questionable is being kind.  It was her husband who was caught in the Keating Five scandal, one of the biggest financial scandals in the country, and the New Phoenix Times reported at the time - McCain was the "guiltiest, most culpable, most reprehensible of the Keating Five", and nothing changed throughout his life, including being real buddies with Joe Biden, the head of the Biden Crime Family.   An empty Senate seat would have done a much better job at representing the people of Arizona, and the nation, than John McCain.  An empty seat can't vote! 

Remember it was Paul Ryan who said Ketanji Brown Jackson was a wonderful pick for the Supreme Court. Well, I followed that story from front to back, and that story was an ugly confirmation of the quality of her intelligence, her understanding of law, and her character.  

And Ryan is a judge of what constitutes character? Remarkable!

Since these people really have a unique perspective on what constitutes "character", perhaps it tells a lot more about their character than those they condemn.  Here's the reality.  These nitwits don't come out and say “I’m in it for me; get used to it, peasant”, and they don't have to.  Their actions show it. 

There's just no end to the lunacy of the left.  We have these misfit students out protesting instead of gong to class, studying, and preparing to productively taking their place in the world, so now they're demanding they get a free pass on their finals, and I approve.  Why?   It was Napoleon who said never interfere with an enemy when he's making a mistake, so, I encourage these "students" to continue down this path.  Guess what?  Their legal careers are already down the toilet.  Now they can become what they're best qualified for.  Career protestors.  Schadenfreude!

I also applaud the academics who encourage and enable them because their mistakes are compounding, and hopefully the end result will be a total destruction of America's academic culture as it's currently configured, full of anti America DEI dimwits and plagiarists who've turned academia into an abscessed canker sore on America's butt.

The end result?  There's going to be a demand to end their funding, absolutely the end of this idiot student loan forgiveness nonsense, and in the long run I hope to see a lot fewer universities in existence, and each and every one of them made into for profit institutions with no government funding of any kind, and the end of the Department of Education. After all, isn't 45 years of failure enough already?

It turns out illegal aliens think they have rights, ergo, they have demands.  "Demands" mind you, and they've given the City of Denver  a list of 13 'demands' for services .  Services for criminals, imagine that.  Remember, they're here illegally, ergo, they're criminals, they're not citizens of the United States and they have no rights.

 

And do you doubt this has been orchestrated by leftist lunatic lawyers, just like the Columbia Law School protestors?  Well, as P.T. Barnum said: "Never give a sucker an even break", and they know they're dealing with suckers. So.... I don't blame them, I blame these suckers falling for all this leftist claptrap. The people of Denver wanted to be a sanctuary city, so they chose this, and they deserve this! Schadenfreude!

However, I hope they keep it up demanding more, and more, and more because it won't be long before the rest of the nation says.....ENOUGH! And kicks the whole bunch out and forces them over the border into Mexico with the help of the American military declaring this is an invasion of the United States with Mexico being collaborators to the invasion.

When the klaxon sounds on an military instillation that means battle stations, and there's no excuse for not hearing it, or responding to it.   Yet, one of the things that's amazed me for years is how Jews, the smartest people in the world, can be so stupid, especially American Jews.  

Antisemitism is part of the philosophical core of leftism, and has been since the French Revolution. And that's been obvious to the most casual observer, and yet America's Jews refuse to see that and have been part of the backbone of the Democrat party.

Well, stupid has it's consequences, and we're seeing those consequences playing out on America's university campuses, and in the Biden administration.  They're so blatantly antisemitic every Jew in the world should be afraid!  Because if there is no America, there will be no one who will defend Jews or Israel.

And this next election may determine America's continued existence. America's Jews are at that proverbial fork in the road. Which way will they go?

I offer up Ackman the Barbarian as an example. After their attack on his wife he had a DEI epiphany, and you would think he had become enlightened, but nooooo, he still remains a Democrat giving a million dollars to Dem. Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota, to run against Biden. A politician from a state that's a hot bed of leftist contamination. 

If Ackman the Barbarian is an example, I'm not optimistic.

You know that little voice in your head that keeps you from saying the things you shouldn't say?  Yeah, I don't have that.

The two faces of Paul Ryan

The self-proclaimed  "Never Again  Trumper" Paul Ryan once praised President Donald J. Trump on CNBC's "Squawk Box,"  April 17, 2018 -- chatting with Joe Kernen. This is a dramatically different face than what Breitbart recently reported about Ryan, on the same Squawk Box program, with some very harsh things to say about the former president (chatting with the same Joe Kernan).   Here is the Breitbart account of those mean-spirited comments:

 Ryan said, “It is a disaster if we nominate Trump. You know I think that. I have been saying that for a long time. But Liz  [Cheney]is right, which is, that he could win. I think we lose with him. I think we are much more likely to lose. We haven’t won with him since he first won in 16. We lost the House in ’18, the presidency in ’20, the Senate in ’20, and we could have won the Senate in 2022 but for him."

He continued, "I’m for anybody not named Trump right now."

Ryan added, '"I’m a Never Again Trumper. So, obviously, the 33 percent base doesn’t like a person like me. I’m very clear: I don’t think he’s fit, and I don’t think he could win. Liz is right: he could, and that is dangerous.'"

Googling for a transcript of Ryan's latest attack on the former president, what appeared on my computer was a Squawk Box transcript of Ryan interviewed by Joe Kernen on "Squawk Box," five years ago, when he announced that he was leaving Congress.   Kernen asked Ryan if he was leaving because of President Trump.  He answered, in effect, not at all.  On the April 17, 2018 CNBC "Squawk Box" program, Ryan praised President Trump for his domestic program -- including tax reform and fossil fuel development.  (All caps in the original)............To Read More....

My Take - This is the loser who claimed Ketanji Brown Jackson was a great pick for the Supreme Court, even though it was clear she was a dolt when she was nominated and is now a dangerous dolt since confirmed.  This is the guy who has been chosen to join the Reagan Foundation and Institute Board of Trustees.  Who in the world would pick this RINO loser to be on any board that represents the views of Ronald Reagan?  Apparently this board, just like all the universities and foundations that were created to promote traditional American capitalist and/or Christian values has also become infested with lefitsts. 

McCarthy's Terrible Tuesday

 Well, today's the day of McCarthy's reckoning, and the amount of CO2 emitted over who will be, or should be, the Speaker of the House has been amazing, and this piece outlines just how amazing that rhetoric is.  Will McCarthy get chosen? Will he get chosen on the first ballot?  He failed to get the votes needed in the Republican's closed session, but what will happen when the entire House votes? 

The Speaker of the House is a Constitutionally mandated position, so the entire House votes for the Speaker, unlike the Senate, where they make their own rules for leadership positions, and the rhetoric over this has been interesting, from doom and gloom to claims of mental illness of those who refuse to vote for McCarthy.  We even have good Ole Newt Gingrich wading in on this claiming  ‘Never McCarthy’ House Republicans have a psychological problem.  Wow!  Really?  

So those who stand firm for the conservative values they ran on have psychological problems but those who want to keep doing what's failed over and over again are sane?  Did I get that right?  Did I miss something? 

So that's what happened when Good Ole Newtie got on that couch with Nancy Pelosi and promoted global warming initiatives?  Did he had a mental breakdown? A psychological problem?  Or maybe, just maybe, he had a values problem?  I go for the latter.  Now, the man is a smooth talker giving the impression of great intelligence.  However, perhaps this is an illusion, because, believe it or not, he is a greenie!  Which makes him irrational and misanthropic and morally defective, and we already know he has the moral fiber of a goat. 

The fact is, Ole Newtie can tell you the sun is shining on Tuesday, and then claim on Wednesday it didn't shine at all. And do it with equally convincing zeal.  I wouldn't trust him to tell me day was light and night was dark.

It's being claimed chaos awaits a party that can’t unify itself, and I agree, but the Republicans are unlike the Democrats.  They're not unified, and this vote merely shows what everyone already knows to be true.  The Democrats are totally committed leftists who are working to destroy America, and vote in unity, and a frighteningly large number of Republicans are willing to help them, and all of those RINO's are voting for McCarthy.  

For weeks he's refused to make concessions to the conservatives in the House.   But now in the eleventh hour he's bending and now agreeing....sort of..... to some rule changes, such as making it easier to have a no-confidence vote to remove him from the Speakership, which has been limited to members of the leadership only.  

Normally there's no do overs for the Speakership, but while the position is Constitutionally mandated, the person isn't, and conservatives want to open that up to all the membership.   He's now willing to look at longer periods of time to read bills, not like this last minute vote for this 4000 page omnibus spending bill of 1.7 trillion dollars.  They also want "rules forbidding House GOP leadership from getting involved in primaries, and greater limitations on spending."   

If he'd agreed to these things before this would probably have been resolved by now, but he didn't and there must be a reason why.  And that reason is he's the weak leader conservatives fear he is and if he'd agreed to all this his days as Speaker would be numbered, or he'd have to grow a backbone and fight the good fight.  Not his cup of tea. 

At this point there are five members who claim they will absolutely not vote for McCarthy, Congressmen Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), Bob Good (R-Va.), Ralph Norman (R-S.C.), and Matt Rosendale (R-Mont.), who has been striving to be Speaker of the House since John Boehner was ousted, and he wasn't chosen by the Republicans then.  It went to Paul Ryan, who turned out to be a disaster, he even raved about the intellect, character and integrity of Ketanji Brown Jackson, which showed  just how flawed Paul Ryan is. 

Until there's a Speaker in place nothing can be done in the House.  No rules nor any business can be adopted or acted upon.  And he wants to be Speaker, and he wants it badly.  But even if he wins, he's already damaged goods as a leader, and if it goes to a second ballot, or more, he's no leader at all, and with each successive vote he'll most likely lose votes, and as I see it, there are four things that play into this. 

One, as I've stated, the Speaker of the House is a Constitutionally mandated position and the entire House votes for the Speaker.  

Two, hard line conservatives in the House will absolutely not vote for McCarthy because they know he will cave in on important issues, which is clear that's what he wants to do or he wouldn't have been so adamant about the changes conservatives wanted. 

Three, he will not remove himself from contention for the good of the party or the nation because that takes character he doesn't possess in my opinion, which I outline in my article, You Can't Handle the Truth!  

And fourth, it seems clear McCarthy will be elected because, no matter what they're saying publicly, I think Democrats will cross over and vote for him because they know he's "Cav-in McCarthy", and that's good politics, and if I was the Democrat leader, that's what I would do.  And the reason for that is conservatives are urging Jim Jordan to challenge McCarthy and the last person they would want in the Speaker's Chair is Jordan, or someone like Jordan, versus Cav-in McCarthy.   

No matter how this plays out, McCarthy loses, even if he's chosen as Speaker. 

Pollak: We Cannot Have a Supreme Court Justice Who Thinks Constitution Is Racist

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is an admirer of Critical Race Theory, the “1619 Project,” and Black Lives Matter, all of which hold beliefs about the United States and its laws that make it impossible for her to serve in good faith on the Supreme Court.  Her beliefs were revealed in a recently unearthed lecture delivered to the University of Michigan Law School — not as a young student, but as a sitting federal judge in 2020, confirmed a year later to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.

Somehow Judge Jackson’s radical beliefs escaped close scrutiny in previous confirmations, but the Supreme Court defines the central principles of our republic, and its nominees invariably receive more careful attention, and quite deservedly so.  Moreover, Judge Jackson is the first Supreme Court nominee to be selected explicitly because of her race and gender. My Take -   Here was my piece on February 27, 2022 on this Biden Pick.  I noted that former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has nothing but praise for her .  For her "intellect, for her character, and for her integrity, [which according to him] is unequivocal."  He went on to say, "I know she is clearly qualified. But it bears repeating just how qualified she is," ..... "She’s an amazing person, and I favorably recommend her for consideration."  You might think he would know because she's related to him through marriage, but that bodes well the question:  Is he unbiased? 

Given his history, how good are the tenuous views of this major RINO on anything? He proved his mettle while Speaker of the House and was found seriously wanting, and then again, Paul Ryan also thought Hillary was just dandy.  I think this can be added to my list: Ketanji Brown Jackson. Not Looking Good!

The Federal Judiciary is Not About the Rule of Law

If there ever was a time for a 28th Amendment to the Constitution to impose term limits on the federal judiciary, it's now.

For weeks I've been watching these YouTube hearings on Biden's nominees to the judiciary, and other positions.  One thing, and one thing only seems clear from their answers:  They must have all gone to the same school of clabber as they started all their answers with "Senator, Thank you for that question", and then failed to answer it.   

Senator John Kennedy Asks One Judicial Nominee Same Question Nine Times, trying to get to her personal views on a subject, and still can't get it even after stipulating they would be fair and unbiased in their judgements, if they would just answer the questions asked.  He finally got an answer.  He asked what her favorite color was.  Blue.  And this pattern plays out over and over and over and over and over again.  Every one of these nominees were clearly leftist radicals, and one nominee Biden put forward was a Soviet trained economist he chose to be the next comptroller of the currency.

So, why would we think this latest nominee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, to the Supreme Court of the United States would be any less radical?  Any less leftist?  Any less destructive to the Constitution? Let's take a look at what's being said about Ketanji Brown Jackson.

Biden  claims she's a “proven consensus builder” and a “distinguished jurist.”  But he also said he want's a justice who thinks it's their job to "expand the meaning of the Constitution without constitutional amendments. President Biden stressed that his nominee must follow a "living constitution" approach, including a broad view of “unenumerated rights.”  Jackson has not answered that question.  The phrase to describe her view: "Obscure and conflicted", and at one point answered she "simply did not have experience with such interpretations as a judge."  Just as obscure and evasive as all these other radicals.

Liberty Nation’s legal affairs editor, Scott D. Cosenza, offers his thoughts on Jackson’s nomination and how she measures up to the nation’s highest court saying: 

There is nothing about Judge Jackson’s history to indicate she will be especially impulsive or partisan. She seems well suited to the role of justice.......... I expect her to be a reliable vote for the left, as Justice Breyer would, and also deviate from partisan wishes when she believes they are wrong........Leaving aside the race and sex-based discrimination baked into her nomination, it’s that public defender experience..........

Well, let's take a look at her intelligence, integrity and character.

First off, I will stipulate a public defender is obligated to do everything ethical to defend their client no matter how contemptible their deeds may have been.  But while defending one of the terrorists jailed at Guantanamo she blatantly lied about the treatment of prisoner at Guantanamo claiming:

"Many of the most egregious interrogation techniques used in the Abu Ghraib detention center and other detention facilities in Iraq — such as the use of aggressive dogs to intimidate detainees, sexual humiliation, stress positions, and sensory deprivation — were pioneered at Guantanamo,"

This was investigated and it was an absolutely false accusation.  She accused them of performing heinous acts which never happened, and I can't believe she was doing that out of ignorance.  

Is that a preview of her character?  Her intelligence? Her integrity? And is she really well qualified? Or is this nominee a hard left radical, and is this a Wink and Nod nomination?  Let's see. 

Jim Hoft claims she's "a radical judge who has ruled many times against the Trump administration", but does that make her radical and unqualified?

• She broke the client attorney privilege rule declaring "Don McGahn must testify to Congress about his time as Trump’s White House counsel"
• "temporarily blocked the deportation of two migrants who claimed the Trump Administration’s new “lesson plan” for asylum officers makes it harder to prove fear of returning to their home country.  Her ruling was so radical that Acting US Citizenship and Immigration Director Ken Cuccinelli slammed the activist judge.
• Judge Jackson also was accused of judicial overreach in American Federation of Government Employees v. Trump in 2018, when she stopped the Trump administration from implementing provisions limiting the ability of federal workers’ unions to collectively bargain. Noting that Jackson was a prospective choice for the Supreme Court, The Washington Post heralded the ruling as a major victory for unions. However, a unanimous ruling by the D.C. Circuit held that Jackson lacked jurisdiction to decide the case because the statute clearly mandates such challenges must be brought first in the agency process and that judicial review is then available in the courts of appeals.

This is her "sterling" judicial reputation? This is a judge that has been reversed by left wing judges, and it's clear she has been, and will be, guilty of judicial overreach, and who will overturn her once she's on the Supreme Court?  I wouldn't count on Roberts, Kavanaugh or Barrett. This is a Wink and a Nod nomination for a totally unqualified judge whose intelligence, character and integrity isn't unequivocal, it's all highly questionable.

The left and the media claim she's in the main stream, and all agree that she's the best choice, however, none of them can explain why, and if she's mainstream, that stream must be running through the center of Venezuela.  

Remember, they all claimed Merritt Garland (the now Attorney General who unreleased the FBI on parents protesting school board decisions) was a "moderate" also.   

 So, back to my earlier question: Why would we think this latest nominee to the Supreme Court of the United States would be any less radical?  Any less leftist?  Any less destructive to the Constitution?

We shouldn't!

 

The Time of Romney-Ryan Republicanism Is Over

Paul Ryan (I know, sorry for bringing him up) delivered a speech at the Reagan Presidential Library at the end of May in which he sought to reassert himself as a leader of the Republican Party.  His shtick was the same spit wash that Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, and George Bush have tried rubbing on the Republican electorate time and again since Biden's official installation.  We're better than this reality TV outsider who hijacked the party.  Boo to populism; yay to True Conservatism, Inc.!  This is serious, people; we're at a 'crossroads' here.................

After all these years, Paul Ryan and his "Washington Generals" cohorts are still so blinded by their hatred for Donald Trump that they'd prefer the double-team of Mao's Cultural Revolution and Stalin's dissident purge (Where did everyone go?  I don't know; they just "disappeared.") presently napalming freedom in America to taking a hard look at why Republican voters abandoned them in the first place.............  

While recognizing that Trump actually succeeded in expanding the party's appeal to a diverse electorate (a truth that most every other NeverTrump has buried while ignoring that President Trump won more votes in 2020 than any sitting president in history — and nearly ten million more than Obama won in re-election)............Is it any wonder after decades of being led by a bunch of mealy-mouthed Washington neoconservatives who go out of their way to demean regular, everyday Americans, Republican voters finally said enough?  ..........In reacting to Paul Ryan's speech, an online commenter going by the name Zendor summed it up with a clever portmanteau: "The only leadership shown by Rinosaur Ryan is leading other rinos to extinction." .....To Read More....

 

Paul Ryan’s Impotent Appeal

The Democrats, no less than the media, slobbered all over the former House speaker for his recent anti-Trump speech. But their love is strictly conditioned on Ryan remaining a pajama-boy conservative.

Of all the reactions to Paul Ryan’s speech Thursday at the Reagan Library in California, I thought the funniest was the one titled “Paul Ryan Begins to Re-emerge.” I found that idea funny because the speech I heard signaled the opposite: not burgeoning “re-emergence” on to the political stage but, on the contrary, an almost comical confirmation of obscurity. 

Ryan is a careful man, well-pressed, armed with all the best clichés, and utterly feckless. He salted his talk with plenty of gems calculated to appeal to conservatives. He appealed early and often to the ghost of Ronald Reagan—understandable given the auspices of his talk. And his speechwriters dropped all the right phrases about keeping government off the people’s backs, the evils of identity politics and political correctness, the desirability of low taxes, and economic prosperity. 

He was also careful to rehearse some of the achievements of the last four years, the years when his nemesis Donald Trump ran the roost. He was happy to associate himself with those triumphs......... • Be gone, Paul Ryan, be gone! May 30, 2021 Paul Ryan, the last Republican Speaker of the House of Representatives, gave a talk at the Reagan Library in violation of Ronald W. Reagan's Eleventh Commandment:  "Thou shalt not speak ill of a fellow Republican.".......... And, still, Ryan had the chutzpah to call Biden "a nice guy."  There is Paul Ryan in a nutshell, excoriating a fellow Republican and complimenting Biden.

 

Trump Rips Paul Ryan, Fox News

It did not take long for former President Donald Trump to get wind and respond to anti-Trump comments Thursday night by former House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., at the Ronald Reagan Library.

Trump scoffed at Ryan's arrogance to suggest the failed "RINO" (Republican in Name Only) knows enough that he can tell Republicans "how to win elections," lumping the never Trumper in with Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, the failed presidential candidate he served as running mate for in 2012.

Trump wrote in a statement of rebuke on his Save America Desk website:

"RINO Paul Ryan, who became a lame duck Speaker of the House, lost all vote-getting capability with the people he represented in Wisconsin, and was the single biggest factor, other than Romney himself, for the monumental Romney/Ryan loss in the presidential race of 2012 (I got more votes by far, 75M, than any sitting president in history!), and he is now speaking to other Republicans telling them how to win elections. Interestingly, I was in the Great State of Wisconsin when they booed him off the podium — I literally had to come to his rescue.

"Ryan should instead be telling them how to stop the cheating of elections and that we would have won if Republican leadership fought the way the Democrats did.

"It was the day that Ryan went on the board of Fox (Fox will never be the same!) that Fox totally lost its way and became a much different place, with millions of its greatest supporters fleeing for good. Paul Ryan has been a curse to the Republican Party. He has no clue as to what needs to be done for our Country, was a weak and ineffective leader, and spends all of his time fighting Republicans as opposed to Democrats who are destroying our Country.

"As a Republican, having Paul Ryan on your side almost guarantees a loss, for both you, the Party, and America itself!"

Ryan's remarks denounced Republicans for following the Trump doctrine, according to reports.

Why Republicans Are Losing Their Message

Do you remember the GOP’s last Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan? He, and other RINO’s like him, are the reason why Conservatism and the GOP are losing arguments in the field of political persuasion. Ryan said it was time for Trump to “move on from his election loss to President-elect Joe Biden.”  Why does Ryan want to gaff off so serious an attack against our electoral process? Is it so the Deep State Establishment can continue to survive?

In remarks to a Bank of America virtual European Credit Conference, Ryan urged an end to ‘speculation’ over ‘alleged’ widespread voter fraud. Why? He said a peaceful transfer of power will be the healthiest move for the country. Sure it would, just like the peaceful transfer of power Democrats lavished on Donald Trump. Of course, Ryan’s opinion is complete nonsense because the ‘speculation’ he derides is supported by enough facts as to make the theft of this election more than probable. The “there’s no evidence” cacophony from the media is like Juan Williams on the “Five” shouting simply to wear ’em down. Ignore them.

The outcome will not be changed, and it will only serve to undermine our faith in our system of government, our faith in our democracy.” What Ryan misses of course is, if the national election process isn’t corrected, people will simply no longer participate. The criminal Democrat party would welcome that very outcome. This election must be challenged.

Taking Hillary Clinton’s advice, Trump has not conceded the election. Litigation is underway in several key battleground states that may actually restore the balance and that will drive the Left nuts.

Ryan added: “a peaceful transfer of power is needed to uphold the country’s democratic institutions.” Well, now it’s those “democratic” institutions that need to be torn down, isn’t it?

Further, Ryan said: “The election is over. The outcome is certain; I think it’s really important that we respect that, (Why?) We respect the will of the people, and if we don’t, we end up doing damage to our country, to our democratic institutions and norms, and to the cause of freedom.” If Ryan truly believes that, he’s a dim bulb indeed. The damage is done and will continue until fair and honest elections are conducted; elections that require a photo ID, on election day.

Ryan said he understood: “the disappointment of losing a national election, adding that Trump voters should not buy into what the president’s legal team is saying about voter fraud. (Why?) I know there are a lot of people in this country who are really disappointed. But I think it’s really important that we’re clear about this, which is the mere fact that the president’s lawyers throw these sort of baseless conspiracy theories out at press conferences but offer no evidence of these in court tells you that there is not the kind of widespread voter fraud or systemic voter fraud that would be required to overturn the outcome of this election.” 

Clearly, the conspiracy suspicions are not baseless as Ryan wants us to accept. Didn’t the FBI, DoJ, CIA, and DNI’s, top officials criminally conspired to bring down Donald Trump? Was that baseless? It’s on record.

Ryan doesn’t like Trump because Trump is not one of them.

Ryan, a swamp creature, trashed Trump to Tim Alberta, editor of the Politico, for his book American Carnage. Ryan accused Trump of not knowing how to govern. “I’m telling you, he didn’t know anything about the government … I wanted to scold him all the time,” Trump’s four years of unprecedented economic, social, and foreign policy success tells a different story. Ryan and the others like him will plot like a cancer, against conservative Republican success. We know where to look, we need to take action.

One of the greatest public services President Donald Trump has done for the nation is forcing institutions and people to reveal their true character.

While this has been the most valuable when it comes to the media, it has also been valuable when it comes to unmasking globalist Republicans.

This was again on display this week, most notably in the revelation that Paul Ryan was inciting Fox News from his position on the board of Fox Corporation to "decisively break" with President Trump. Ryan has apparently graduated from providing the worst advice to the president as the speaker of the House to providing the worst advice to Fox News.

Were Fox to follow this advice, the network would have even fewer viewers than CNN, which can at least count on hapless airport captives to boost its numbers. I find it hard to believe that any of Fox's viewers are not to the right of Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace. If Fox management thinks it can somehow compete for liberal viewers, it is delusional............Romney is more Fredo than Lando, too foolish to realize how badly he is being used even as he listens to the media sirens calling from the rocks. Most politicians are contemptible. They are shallow, grasping, insecure clowns who want to expand the size and scope of government so they have more power to dictate how the rest of us live our lives.

To make matters worse, many of them know they are doing the wrong thing, but they don’t have the moral courage to resist the corrupt, go-along-to-get-along culture of Washington.

 

But that doesn’t mean they’re bad people. When people ask me what motivates politicians, I sometime explain the theory of  “public choice.” In other cases, I tell the simple story of the guy who is endlessly conflicted between an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other shoulder.

 

And I tell them that a good politician is one who – more often than not – sides with the angel.

 

And that’s why, when asked to comment on the outgoing Speaker of the House, I applauded Paul Ryan. You can watch the entire interview here, but I’ve excerpted a segment that hits the two main points.

 

 

 

Simply stated, Ryan was instrumental in moving the ball forward on tax reform. I very much doubt we would have achieved a lower corporate tax rate or scaled back the state and local tax deduction without all the work he did during his time at the Budget Committee and Ways & Means Committee.

 

And while entitlement reform never happened, first because of Obama and now because of Trump, it’s nonetheless a remarkable achievement that Ryan was able to:

• Put together budgets with genuine Medicaid and Medicare reform. 
• Get those budgets approved by the House and Senate.

By the way, I’m not being a naive cheerleader.

Ryan had plenty of bad votes, including the horribly corrupt TARP bailout. And he routinely supported many other elements of George W. Bush’s big-government agenda.

And his tax record wasn’t perfect, either. His Roadmap budget plan had some great reforms, but also included a value-added tax. More recently, he supported the border-adjustment tax (sort of a pre-VAT).

But even Saint Ronald wasn’t perfect.

P.S. My biggest sin of omission in the interview is that I didn’t mention the de facto five-year spending freeze between 2009-2014, an achievement that largely overlapped with Ryan’s tenure as Chairman of the Budget Committee.

My Take - His recent history is interesting but his conclusions are all wrong, especially espousing  Teddy Roosevelt.  TR was a progressive, the name adopted by socialists because socialism wasn't popular in the U.S. because it's foundationally atheistic, so they adopted the name progressive to fool the public.  Teddy had to know that, yet he was the first national leader to give the progressive movement personality, and for that reason I consider TR to have been the worst President the 20th century.  All the fascist policies of Woodrow Wilson and then the rebirth of those policies in the form of Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal were given foundation by TR.

James Arlandson posted an article today titled, "Did Paul Ryan say a shutdown is on the table?"  In the article he goes one to explain how bad a plan this is, stating:

 

"Reportedly, Ryan drops Boehner's pledge not to shut down the government. Flexing his legislative muscle: "This is the legislative branch, and the power of the purse rests within the legislative branch. And we fully expect that we are going to exercise that power," Ryan said when pressed over whether he planned to attach so-called "policy riders" to a must-pass spending bill that Congress needs to approve before December 11. Uh-oh. If those words can rightly be interpreted as a shutdown, then it's a bad strategy.  I wish conservatives could understand these things about the American electorate today:.....it's a political loser for the GOP".

I wish those who profess to be "conservatives" understood this has gone on for 80 years because "conservatives" didn't bite the bullet years ago. At some point someone has to stand up to the negative press and tell the truth and then stand firm. Leadership isn't about being popular - it's about leading - and the willingness to be un-liked for long periods of time for standing up for one's principles is essential for real leaders.   Stop worrying about who's blamed - time and history is the left's greatest enemy - but it takes guts to tell that story - and to keep telling that story.

 

As for the "conservatives" in Congress need to be loved in order to be re-elected over and over again while failing their oath of office, and the people whose interests they're supposed to be representing, being liked isn't your job!  If playing it safe is the strategy- I have to ask -what exactly do these people think their job is?  If one has to lose an election let it be for standing up to those things that are right and true.  To quote Col. John Boyd:

 

"One day you will come to a fork in the road. And you're going to have to make a decision about what direction you want to go."..... "If you go that way you can be somebody. You will have to make compromises and you will have to turn your back on your friends. But you will be a member of the club and you will get promoted and you will get good assignments."...... 

 

"Or you can go that way and you can do something— something for your country and for your Air Force and for yourself. If you decide to do something, you may not get promoted and you may not get the good assignments and you certainly will not be a favorite of your superiors. But you won't have to compromise yourself. You will be true to your friends and to yourself. And your work might make a difference." He paused and stared. "To be somebody or to do something. In life there is often a roll call. That's when you will have to make a decision. To be or to do? Which way will you go?"

Paul Ryan defused the likelihood of a government shutdown in January with the bipartisan budget deal he helped strike last week. But on Sunday he did nothing to tamp down the possibility of a showdown over the debt ceiling.

The House Budget chairman said that Republicans will gather after the holidays “and discuss exactly what it is we’re going to try and get” for voting to suspend or raise the legal limit on federal borrowing.

You can stop laughing now.  I can answer what they are going to try and get. Nothing. Bupkis. Diddly squat.

After throwing away the hard-fought success that was the sequester for fairly dust and unicorn farts twenty years down the road, Paul Ryan and the House GOP leadership is now trying to convince us that they will TOTALLY GO TO THE MATTRESSES ON THE DEBT CEILING.
