Donald Trump and the Nobel Peace Prize

There's been a lot of talk about Trump deserving the Nobel Peace Prize, and a lot of people have nominated him, a whole lot more have been insisting he deserves it, and he absolutely has performed way and above what most others have done who've received it, especially Barack Obama who was awarded it for being black.   Teddy Roosevelt got it for brokering a peace treaty between Japan and Russia.  Trump has orchestrated at least five peace treaties and/or cease fires.

But I thought this was really interesting, and will most assuredly drive those suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome into fits of apoplexy.   Seventy thousand, that's a seven followed by four zeros, Cambodian Buddhist monks, broke their vow of silence to nominate him for the Prize.

If Trump is nominated and gets the prize it's my hope he tells them to shove it, taking the view "who wants honors from people such as these", and tells them this effort by these monks was prize enough.

The disaster of the Biden administration keeps unfolding as Congress investigates the AutoPen scandal.  A top Biden White House aide, Neera Tanden, testified how she was authorized to use the Autopen, explaining she would send a request to Biden's "inner circle" and get a response back, but seemingly claims she has no idea who in the inner circle was authorized to give her that permission.  Then when asked if she ever discussed Biden's mental decline with anyone in the leadership.....she said no, which is as believable as saying rain isn't wet. 

 

A Democrat member of the committee claims she's lying, and has been told by staffer (name not shared) all Autopen uses were directly authorized by Joe Biden, yet there's evidence he had no idea about at least one authorization.  Someone's lying.   Her testimony lasted five hours, and I'm betting she'll be back, right along with this unnamed staffer who refutes her testimony. 

 

Before this I pretty much thought this was good politics but was going nowhere because all Biden has to say is he authorized all of it.  But the facts and the testimony coming out makes me wonder if that will work.  As the author notes if people are found to have committed perjury and face prison time.... they'll squeal to save themselves.  

 

Congress is also investigating what is roundly believed to be illegal fundraising by ActBlue, and Trump wants a special prosecutor to investigate the massive levels of voter fraud involved in the 2020 election. The DOJ just fired three "high ranking" prosecutors of January 6 defendants, and the Oversight Project has referred former FBI Director Wray to DOJ for criminal charges.   The purge must never stop, as the rot is deep and wide, and if this window of opportunity closes, it may never open again.

 

Trump's negotiating skills really are amazing.  He just brokered a peace deal ending 3 decades of war in Africa between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.  In twelve days he brokered a peace deal between Israel and Iran.  He's also gotten Netanyahu to agree to end the Gaza War, and expand Abraham Accords.  

 

But let's not kid ourselves, this Iran deal is fragile on the best of days.  Iran's rhetoric about destroying Israel and America is just as virulent now as it was last month, and should have been obvious to the most casual observer this would be the case as long as this regime remained in place, with them actually claiming all that destruction was a slap in the face to America and an Iranian victory.

 Wake up, America, Muslims hate us, the game is not over when dealing with rabid ayatollahs who insist they're never going to give up on building a nuclear bomb.  As one writer noted:

I've wondered why Trump made Israel stop their assault on Iran allowing them to finish the job.  Personally, I think it's because Trump wants the Nobel Peace Prize so badly he's allowing this fixation to mold his thinking.  A prize I don't think he'll get, but he gets it, he should reject  it. 

 

There’s a movie about the K-19: The Widowmaker, a Soviet submarine, where a lot of brave young men sacrifice themselves to save the crew. Harrison Ford is the captain and at the end of the movie the remaining members of the crew meet to honor their fallen comrades he says:

“For their courage I nominated these men for the title of hero of the Soviet Union. But the committee ruled that because it was not wartime, and because it was merely an accident, they were not worthy of the title hero. What good are honors from such people? These men sacrificed, not for a medal. But because when the time came, it was their duty. Not to the navy, or to the state, but to us. Their comrades.”

I put this in the same category.  "The Nobel Peace Prize often aligns with Norwegian liberal views, undermining its credibility and purpose."  When an organization is so corrupt it gives ‘honors’ to, among others of ill repute, Jimmy Carter claiming he was untiring in his efforts to "find peaceful solutions to international conflicts, to advance democracy and human rights", when in reality "Carter's sympathy for the leftward and violent fringe cost more lives than it saved."  Barack Obama for doing nothing, and Yasser Arafat for the lie of trying to bring peace to the Middle East, "what good are honors from such people?"

The Big Beautiful Bill is now facing another road block, the Senate Parliamentarian, as she's gutting more and more parts of the Big Beautiful Bill, including Medicaid changes in order to cut waste, and her ruling on Medicaid for illegals, all of which will require 60 votes to pass, and GOP  lawmakers are to say the least... upset, and no one really believes she's impartial. 

 

Where in the Constitution is there any mention of a Senate Parliamentarian?  There isn't!  It was created by the Senate and in 1937, and in point of fact the majority leader in the Senate can overrule her, but Thune refuses to do that.  And he can fire her, and since he's such an invertebrate in failing to overrule her, he won't fire her.  I keep wondering if the Majority Leader can do that, why can't the President of the Senate, Vice President J.D. Vance do that? The Founders would not recognize America today, and not because of the technology, because of what government has morphed into, the nation's values, and society's morality.

The Coming Battle For Taiwan And The Nobel Peace Prize

There’s a good argument to be made that the Nobel Peace Prize committee, when it comes to American politicians, awards them to those politicians who have dragged their nation leftward. It is possible, looking at the brewing situation between China and the People’s Republic of China (i.e., China) invades The Republic of China (i.e., Taiwan), that Biden will be manipulated into believing that, if he backs China, he will be able to bring home a Nobel for himself.

Over the past 115 years, only five American Presidents have received the Nobel Peace Prize. Looking back, it would be fair to say that the award can be characterized as the highest form of global virtue-signaling that the Nobel committee can award as a participation trophy to American politicians, whether presidents (Teddy Roosevelt, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama) or Vice Presidents (Al Gore) for orthodox progressive thinking:

Irena Sendler: Died - May 12, 2008 (aged 98), Warsaw, Poland

(Editor's Note:  Originally I got this via e-mail and posted it in 2016.  I said then I normally ignore these kind of e-mails,  even after I've spent some time trying to verify what's presented.   I also said I was very comfortable passing this one along, and now with all this talk about Trump receiving a well deserved Nobel Peace Prize, I felt it was worth passing along once again.  It's clear to me the Nobel Committee is thoroughly corrupt as the undeserving are rewarded over and over again.  At some point we have to wonder:  Who needs honors from people such as these?  Rich Kozlovich)

During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ulterior motive. Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried. She also carried a burlap sack in the back of her truck, for larger kids. Irena kept a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto.

The soldiers, of course wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises. During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. Ultimately, she was caught, however, and the Nazi's broke both of her legs and arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she had smuggled out in a glass jar that she buried under a tree in her back yard. 

After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.

In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected. Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming. Later another politician, Barack Obama, won for his work as a community organizer for ACORN.

Destroying the Institutions We Inherited

In the 21st century, hallmark American and international institutions have lost much of their prestige and respect.

Politics and biases explain the lack of public confidence in organizations and institutions such as the World Health Organization, the Commission on Presidential Debates, the Nobel Peace Prize, the Pulitzer Prizes and the Academy Awards.

The overseers entrusted with preserving these institutions all caved to short-term political pressures. As a result, they have mostly destroyed what they inherited.

The World Health Organization's director-general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is the first person without a medical degree to hold that position. Why? No one really knows.

In the critical first days of the rapidly spreading COVID-19 pandemic, almost every statement issued by Tedros and the WHO about the origins, transmission, prevention and treatment of the virus was inaccurate. Worse, the announcements predictably reflected the propaganda of the Chinese government................

Recently, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which oversees the Oscars, announced that it will adopt racial, gender, and sexual identity quotas for nominees -- refuting the ancient idea of "art for art's sake"

Such ideology has also infected, and thus tarnished, the Grammy and Emmy awards, and left-wing virtue-signaling has also become part of the NFL and the NBA.

Nobel Peace Prize is beyond a joke and now a mark of shame

This year’s winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is a notorious scandal-ridden organization, guilty of heinous crimes for many years.  Instead of recognizing the magnificent achievement of President Trump and Jared Kushner in bringing together leading Arab states and Israel, which is the very obvious thing to do if peace-making is to be recognized, the 5 members of the Nobel peace Prize Committee – Norwegian politicians appointed by that country’s parliament, the Storing – have disgraced themselves and killed any remaining credibility and prestige the prize once carried.

The Nobel Peace Prize 2020 was awarded to World Food Programme (WFP) "for its efforts to combat hunger, for its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas and for acting as a driving force in efforts to prevent the use of hunger as a weapon of war and conflict."

Peace breaking out all over from Trump and the left is going haywire

Democrats are having a shattered-glass crack-up to the continuous good news coming from President Trump on the global peace front. Their famously discplined lockstep 'narrative' has gone haywire.

Over in Sweden, a legislator has nominated President Trump for the Nobel peace prize over his role in bringing peace to longtime foes Kosovo and Serbia. That's the second one who's done it. It follows a Norwegian legislator's nomination of Trump this same week for the same prize over his role in brokering an Israel-UAE entente, the biggest peace breakthrough since the Camp David accords, which made peace between Israel and Egypt. That one earned its participants a Nobel prize, too.

The Atlantic calls to cancel the Nobel Peace Prize after Trump is nominated for a SECOND

It’s over for the Nobel Peace Prize …After a 119-year run, the Nobel Peace Prize faces cancellation from some members of the left now that President Donald Trump has been nominated for it again.

On Wednesday, Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian parliament for the populist Progress Party, nominated Trump for the prize over the historic peace deal between Israel and the UAE that his administration has reached.

“I’m not a big Trump supporter. The committee should look at the facts and judge him on the facts – not on the way he behaves sometimes. The people who have received the Peace Prize in recent years have done much less than Donald Trump. For example, Barack Obama did nothing.”...............

The Atlantic staff writer Graeme Wood published a nearly 1500-word-long screed Friday calling for the Nobel Peace Prize to be outright canceled. Why? Because #OrangeManBad and because Tybring-Gjedde, whose views on immigration do not coincide with the left’s view on the issue, is allegedly a “troll.”........

The same disease that prevents members of the left from giving the president any credit seems to have also infected Biden. During a speaking event with the Jewish community this week, he claimed Trump is “dangerous” to Israel and bad for the Jewish people.  Given the big announcement this week that even Bahrain is now normalizing relations with Israel thanks to the Trump administration, the claim by Biden seemed outrageously absurd.............. My Take - I belong to a an eclectic e-mail group that daily discusses every issue that confronts the nation and the world.  When the first nomination hit the news most of us pretty much agreed the left would go into sack cloth and ashes over this.  With the second nomination, and I can't ever believe they're reaction is even better! They're now so hysterical they're  practically frothing at the mouth!!!!

Leftists Alarmed At Trump Hopes For Mideast Peace

No sooner has the Arab-Israel Spring started to blossom than the Leftists are up in arms. Gulf capitals now formalizing relations with Jerusalem are, they complain, ruled by non-democratic bad guys. Exhibit a: Bahrain, where a Sunni minority, backed by Saudi Arabia, rules over restive Shiite population.

Bahrain has just announced that it will join the United Arab Emirates Tuesday at a White House ceremony, where President Trump and his top Mideast aide and son in law, Jared Kushner, are scheduled to host Prime Minister Netanyahu and the U.A.E.’s foreign minister, Abdullah bin Zaid. In the event, the first peace agreement between (now two) Arab countries and the Jewish state in a quarter century will be sealed with hand shakes.

Mr. Trump hints of more to come. Saudi Arabia, vying for leadership in the region, is the big prize. The U.A.E., and certainly Bahrain, wouldn't have signed on without its blessing, but, even as it allows for Israeli flights over its skies, Riyadh has yet to join them.

Critics won’t be inaccurate in noting the failures of the Gulf’s emirates, sultanates ,and theocracies involved in this breakthrough. Yet haven’t those same critics for years insisted that “you make peace with enemies”? Don’t they push the line that there can be no true peace before Jerusalem comes to terms with the Palestinian Authority, which similarly fails the paragon-of-democracy, benevolent-ruler test?.............To Read More.....
