I save an inordinate number of articles dealing with every issue facing humanity. I save them with the intention to use them in my own commentaries as source material. But, after a while my draft files get really big and while I still want to have that materiel for reference, I have to purge those files. So, I've decided to start a weekly series of Gazettes. I will be publishing a "Gazette" dealing with each issue regularly, and I will insert "My Take " along the way. Draft file purged, material saved.
Warming: Some of these draft articles go aways back, and while that may be tiresome, it will also lay out a historical pattern.
Let's start here:
Chicago Blames Racism and the Right for Migrant Crisis - by | Dec 4, 2023 - Mayor Brandon Johnson says his new unity program is the fix. What’s behind the migrant crisis in the US? From lax immigration laws and open-border policies to understaffing and intermittent enforcement, there’s plenty of blame to go around. But Chicago’s new mayor, Democrat Brandon Johnson, has another theory. He blames right-wing extremists and racism for the Windy City’s immigration problem – but Mayor Johnson is a man with a plan. Chicago’s Migrant Issue Caused by the Right Last week, Johnson announced the city’s new Unity Initiative during a press conference. The program partners with churches to help migrants find housing and other needs. Then, on the heels of revealing a Christian project, the mayor went on a rant about how right-wing extremists are to blame for the way everyone is mishandling the migrant crisis:.....
My Take - I must be nice to be a Marxist, it means never having to say you're sorry, and it means shifting the blame for all the incompetent and stupid things you do on someone else. It' clear.... Johnson is Presidential material....for the left.
Red vs Blue: Leftist Crime Stats Aren’t Entirely True, Need to back up your agenda? There’s a stat for that.- By Dec 4, 2023 - Chicago – long a Democrat stronghold – saw more homicides in 2021 than any other city in the US. However, several Republican-led states had even higher body counts. This was the argument that arose during a debate between Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) and Yale School of Public Health Dean Dr. Megan Ranney. Dr. Ranney countered Sen. Kennedy’s jab at the Windy City’s crime stats by pointing out that three red states – Mississippi, Missouri, and the senator’s own Louisiana – all had more homicides. And here’s the twist: They were both telling the truth – or, at least, some version of it. If you’re wondering how both statements could possibly be true at the same time, then you’ve missed the bigger picture – which is exactly what the gun-grabbers who counter the first claim with the second want. It’s a comparison between two different things, states vs cities, and therein lies the trouble with leftist crime stats. Crime Stats Don’t Lie – Except for When They Do............
Chiraq isn’t just a meme; it’s a reality - By Andrea Widburg February 5, 2023- During the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as crime escalated in Chicago, even before Lori Lightfoot became mayor, Chicago earned a new nickname: Chiraq. It turns out that this nickname is entirely too accurate. For a young man growing up in the wrong part of Chicago or in Philadelphia, living in the ‘hood is more dangerous than going to war.............In December, the JAMA Network Open published a study entitled “Comparing Risks of Firearm-Related Death and Injury Among Young Adult Males in Selected US Cities With Wartime Service in Iraq and Afghanistan.” For those unfamiliar with the JAMA Network Open, it is an affiliate of the venerable Journal of the American Medical Association (“JAMA”), founded in 1883. JAMA Network Open’s pedigree suggests that the information contained within the article may be reliable. (Note that I do not say “is reliable,” because modern science has a serious replication problem that means that all studies must be taken with a large grain of salt.)...........

It took all of her forehead. And my other daughter was shot in the back of both legs,” said Melinda. Hipolito was shot in her shoulder and collar bone. Her daughter Scarlett says in the moment, she was worried about her baby sister............Loper’s criminal history includes aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, drug possession, unlawful carry of a weapon and-unauthorized use of a vehicle. “To sign a plea deal with the person who shot me and my children and pretty much gave him a slap on the wrist for harming us and almost killing us, they spit in my face, me and my children’s face,”...............
