My Gazette: Argentina, Javier Milei, December 6, 2023

By Rich Kozlovich

I save an inordinate number of articles dealing with every issue facing humanity.  I save them with the intention to use them in my own commentaries as source material.  But, after a while my draft files get really big and while I still want to have that materiel for reference, I have to purge those files.  So, I've decided to start a weekly series of Gazettes.  I will be publishing a "Gazette" dealing with each issue regularly, and I will insert "My Take " along the way.  Draft file purged, material saved.

Warming: Some of these draft articles go aways back, and while that may be tiresome, it will also lay out a historical pattern.

Let's start here:

Argentina gives Chicoms the middle finger on their BRICS membership scheme December 1, 2023 - After all the hoopla touting the BRICS organization of China-led nations as the next big thing, Argentina has thrown a middle finger to China's big idea. They won't join. According to Politico:

Argentina will not join the BRICS grouping of developing nations, the country’s incoming foreign minister said Thursday. “We will not join the BRICS,” said Diana Mondino, who will serve as top diplomat in the government of President-elect Javier Milei when he is sworn into office next week. Argentina was one of the six countries invited to become new members of the bloc, comprised of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, at its annual summit in Johannesburg in August.

Seems the prospect of joining the world's most-touted club of nations in the press isn't the no-lose proposition it was billed. They won't join the China-led outfit after all. ............

Argentina's Milei visits the White House, and Joe Biden fails to turn up November 28, 2023- Joe Biden treats Argentina's new president badly, snubbing the man while he was inside the White House. It's not the first time he's treated a Latin American president so shabbily.  What is it about Democrats and hospitality? The White House under them is the scene of many embarrassing episodes................He comes all the way to America from Argentina -- the equivalent of a cross-Siberian flight -- and the best he gets is Bill Clinton?...........

Can Argentina's Milei Abolish the Central Bank? - Argentina's President-elect Javier Milei set forth an ambitious agenda that clinched his victory in the recent election, including a pledge to abolish the country's central bank and switch to the U.S. dollar. Despite speculation of a potential shift toward more moderate policymaking in the lead-up to his inauguration, Mr. Milei has reiterated his determination to shutter the central bank, calling it “non-negotiable.” With Argentina now gearing up for the possibility of a nation without a central bank and a shift to the U.S. dollar from the peso, many economists are discussing whether these measures would help resuscitate the economy................

Funny how Argentina managed to count all 30 million of its ballots by midnight... November 21, 2023 We don't see a lot of that here. Why not?  One thing Argentina did right during its election Sunday which saw the election of Javier Milei to the presidency was to get all its ballots counted by midnight. That's the sort of thing we don't see in the U.S. anymore, now that election night has become election month, raising very valid suspicions among voters about fraud.  Here's a tweet illustrating just how impressive that was -- and a sad comparison to shambles seen in certain blue counties of the U.S......Argentina, 30 million ballots.  Maricopa County, 1.9 million ballots........

What Argentina’s New Chainsaw-Wielding President Javier Milei Believes - Argentina’s President-elect Javier Milei describes himself as a liberal and rejects the term populist. In English, however, the economist by trade is anything but an American liberal, and ran an anti-elitist campaign. Frances Martel breaks down what it means to be “liberal,” “libertarian,” and “populist” in South America.......

Martel: Argentina’s Libertarian President Milei Will Be a Nightmare for Biden - Frances Martel - Argentine President-elect Javier Milei won the nation’s top office on November 19 by standing against many of the policies and values that define the administration of his American counterpart Joe Biden – and presents a serious challenge to Biden’s Latin America policy. Milei, a longtime economy analyst for Argentine news programs and a lawmaker for only two years, trounced opponent Sergio Massa with an 11-point lead in Sunday’s runoff election. Massa is the country’s minister of economics, the man most directly responsible for a historic inflation rate of over 140 percent, skyrocketing poverty rates, joblessness, and growing emigration. While Massa’s campaign attempted to scare voters out of supporting Milei by asserting that, given his lack of political experience, he was a wildcard, Milei successfully argued that Argentines already had next to nothing to lose.................

Why the media despise Argentina's Javier Milei - So, Javier Milei is extremely scary. That's what the legacy media have decided: The newly elected libertarian conservative leader of Argentina is absolutely frightening. Axios calls him a "far-right libertarian who's been compared to (former President Donald) Trump." The New York Times writes, "Argentina Braces Itself for Its New 'Anarcho-Capitalist' President," and called the election Argentina's "Donald Trump moment." "Who," asks the Washington Post, "is Javier Milei, Argentina's far-right president elect?" This, unsurprisingly, is not the way the press treated the election of former convict and left-winger Luiz Inacio Lula de Silva in Brazil. "Brazil Elects Lula, a Leftist Former Leader, in a Rebuke of Bolsonaro," The New York Times reported last year. "Who," the Washington Post asked, "is Lula? What to know about Brazil's president."............

Trump Congratulates Javier Milei: ‘Make Argentina Great Again - Frances Martel Former President Donald Trump congratulated Argentine President-elect Javier Milei in a Tuesday video posted to his Truth Social website, expressing hope that Milei will “make Argentina great again.” Milei, a libertarian economist, decisively won Sunday’s presidential election with a nearly 12-point lead over socialist opponent Sergio Massa, the current minister of economy. Argentina is enduring the most severe economic crisis of its modern history, facing inflation rates upwards of 140 percent, rapidly rising poverty levels, and ballooning public spending. Under current President Alberto Fernández — a socialist Peronist — Argentina’s foreign policy has also shifted dramatically away from Western partners and towards increasing cooperation with rogue states such as China, Russia, and Iran.............

’Don’t Let the Crazy Hair Fool you…Milei Is All Business’ - Ian Hanchett On Monday’s edition of Real America’s Voice’s “Grant Stinchfield Tonight,” Breitbart Editor-in-Chief and New York Times bestselling Breaking Biden author Alex Marlow said that the media completely blew its predictions about Argentina’s election, just like they did with the 2016 U.S. presidential election since they projected Javier Milei narrowly losing, and he ended up winning by a strong margin......

Venezuelan Dictator Maduro: Argentine President-Elect Javier Milei a ‘Neo-Nazi’99 - Christian K. Caruzo CARACAS, Venezuela — Socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro delivered a hysterical reaction on Monday to the election of libertarian economist Javier Milei to the presidency of neighboring Argentina, declaring Milei a “neo-nazi” and a “threat” to Latin America. Maduro, whose authoritarian regime has yet to issue any official statement regarding Argentina’s Sunday presidential election at press time, made the claims against Milei during his weekly television show Con Maduro+ (“With Maduro Plus”). Maduro offered no evidence to substantiate any of his accusations against Argentina’s president-elect. “Yesterday, there were presidential elections and, as predicted by the polls, the neo-Nazi extreme right won in Argentina,” Maduro said. “It is an extreme right-wing that comes with a colonial project for Argentina but that intends to lead a colonial project for all Latin America and the Caribbean.” ........

My Take - There are a few things leftist really excel at.  Lying, projection, logical fallacies, and never...ever.... let hypocrisy stand in the way of their narrative of the moment..  For Maduro to call anyone a Nazi is truly rich, but, that's the trend from all these leftists, whether they're in government or the media.  Accuse others of being who and what they are, condemning them for it, in spite of there's absolutely no truth in their claims, and that's who and what they are.

Latin American Leftists Melt Down over Javier Milei’s Presidential Victory - Christian K. Caruzo The unprecedented victory of Argentine libertarian economist Javier Milei in Sunday’s presidential election prompted a wave of outrage and dismay among Latin American leftists. Milei defeated socialist and outgoing Economy Minister Sergio Massa on Sunday by more than 11 percentage points, becoming not just the world’s first libertarian president but also the most-voted president in Argentina’s history, with more than 14.4 million votes. Milei was immediately congratulated by leaders from the region and the world for his outstanding victory, including former President Donald Trump, who posted the slogan “Make Argentina Great Again” on his Truth Social media platform...................

Argentina Celebrates Javier Milei, Its First Libertarian President - Frances Martel “Without a doubt, we are partying tonight,” the president-elect of Argentina, Javier Milei, promised his supporters after winning the nation’s presidency on Sunday night – sending thousands to flood the streets of Buenos Aires chanting “Freedom!” and waving Gadsden flags. Milei, who for most of his career has been an economic analyst and television commentator, ran his campaign for the presidency as an anarcho-capitalist and self-proclaimed libertarian, railing against triple-digit inflation and decades of socialist rule in his country...............

China Warns Milei: Your Country Is Too Poor to Cut Ties with Us - Frances Martel Chinese state media commentators declared it “impossible” on Monday for Argentina to cut ties with Beijing following the election victory this weekend of anti-communist libertarian president-elect Javier Milei, who vowed not to promote cooperation with the Communist Party in favor of “civilized” nations. Milei won Sunday’s presidential election in a landslide, besting opponent Sergio Massa, the socialist current economics minister, by over 11 percentage points. As a candidate, Milei vowed to dramatically limit the size of Argentina’s federal government, curb inflation by making the U.S. dollar an official national currency, and reorient the nation’s foreign policy towards the United States and Israel....

My Take - Milei wasn't impressed.  He later told them to shove their BRICS movement where the sun doesn't shine.  And I think that's going to be a trend.

VIDEO: Inside Milei’s ‘Incredible’ Meeting with World-Renowned Rabbi - Joshua Caplan Rabbi Simon Jacobson, a towering figure in the Chabad-Lubavitch movement and author of the best-selling book Toward a Meaningful Life, reveals he once had an “incredible” meeting with Argentina President-Elect Javier Milei. The Libertarian Populist Milei, whose victory over his socialist rival Sergio Massa on Sunday evening shocked the world, is an ardent admirer of Judaism, and has even studied the Torah and considered converting to the Jewish faith from Catholicism, Breitbart News reported.................

Argentina: President-Elect Javier Milei Promises ‘Spiritual’ Israel Trip, Will Move Embassy to Jerusalem - Frances Martel Argentina’s libertarian President-elect Javier Milei confirmed on Monday that he would make visits to both Israel and the United States before his inauguration on December 10, trips he described as “spiritual” and intended to meet with rabbis whom he had consulted during the election..............

Javier Milei’s Battle Cry for the People - Oops, they did it again. First Giorgia Meloni was elected prime minister of Italy. This despite the objections and smears of the self-important and seemingly all-powerful US Deep State and its Mockingbird press, which in the run-up to the Italian general election had painted her as the second coming of Benito Mussolini. Never mind that the politics of the corporatist Deep State are a lot closer to Mussolini’s fascist vision than those of Meloni, who in the “real world” pragmatically governs from center-right – to the great disappointment of many on both sides of the spectrum. In the current US corporate media-approved version of the political spectrum, the go-to political character assassination terms “Trump".........................
