I save an inordinate number of articles dealing with every issue facing humanity. I save them with the intention to use them in my own commentaries as source material. But, after a while my draft files get really big and while I still want to have that materiel for reference, I have to purge those files. So, I've decided to start a weekly series of Gazettes. I will be publishing a "Gazette" dealing with each issue regularly, and I will insert "My Take " along the way. Draft file purged, material saved.
Warming: Some of these draft articles go aways back, and while that may be tiresome, it will also lay out a historical pattern.
Let's start here:
Meet the new Speaker, same as the old Speaker - Jordan Schachtel Nov 28, 2023 - The mud in The Swamp is as thick as it's ever been. Campaigns to combat the Uniparty will have to originate from outside of its base of operations. The mud in The Swamp is as thick as it's ever been. Campaigns to combat the Uniparty will have to originate from outside of its base of operations. ........
My Take - Jordan isn't a pro-Johnson guy, but is he an anti-Johnson guy? I think he's looking at this from the details of the day, and he might be right, but I wonder if he's needs to view all this farther, deeper, and wider than he does. As it stands right now a Republican Speaker spends all his time herding cats on the Republican side, which is disjointed, and Democrats who march in lock step. I wouldn't want that job for any amount of money. Either way, he does lay out some points worth noting, and then time will take care of the rest. As the reporter said in the movie Charlie Wilson's War, We'll See!
Will Speaker Johnson Balance the Budget? - Newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson has posted on his congressional website what he calls "The 7 Core Principles of Conservatism." "In 2018," the website explains, "Speaker Johnson drafted this summary of the central beliefs of American conservatives to help anchor the work of the House Republican Conference in the timeless principles that made our nation the freest, strongest, and most prosperous in human history."............They presumably hoped to prevent the debt from becoming an issue before that election. Speaker Johnson needs to resume the fight now to advance his principle that Congress has "a moral and constitutional duty" to "bring spending under control" and "balance the federal budget.".............
Exclusive – Speaker Johnson Grants Clemency and Amnesty to the 25 Intransigents who Blocked Jordan on House Floor - Matthew Boyle Newly minted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is granting clemency and amnesty to the 25 intransigent House Republicans who violated the formal will of the House GOP conference when they took to the House floor to block a Speakership bid from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) earlier this year. Johnson formally declined to comment, through spokesman Raj Shah, when asked a series of in-depth questions from Breitbart News about what specific consequences would befall the 25 intransigent Republicans for the harm they caused the country in October. Breitbart News told Johnson’s team that these questions would be printed in full, with or without answers, which means the Speaker was aware when he declined to comment that this story would be published.
