On Thursday, one year since the launch of the Mueller probe, U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis received a copy of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s previously withheld “scope memo.” Mueller’s team has been claiming secrecy over national security concerns but the judge wasn’t buying it. “C’mon man!” Ellis said. “We don’t want anyone with unfettered power.”
At this writing, the contents of the scope memo have yet to be revealed. On the other hand, the one-year anniversary calls for a box score, and CNN duly stepped up to the plate.
“The special counsel's team has brought charges against 22 people and companies, notched five guilty pleas and seen one person sentenced. While a number of those charges were related to Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election, so far none of them has extended to potential collusion between the Russian government and Trump associates.” So on the basic mission, Mueller has no hits, but wait just a minute.
“The mandate also allowed Mueller to look into any areas that may arise from the investigation,” CNN claims. “So the probe expanded to include an offshoot investigation into whether the President has tried to obstruct justice.” So the former FBI boss is swinging a big bat, and it’s not exactly a new game.......To Read More....
