On Tuesday night, CFACT at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities hosted renowned conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro to discuss the importance of free speech and benefits of free markets over socialism.
Adam Houser posted details at CFACT Campus.
Just under 100 Leftist protesters, in turn, brought out banners that said “Minnesota Against White Supremacy” and shouted “Nazi” at event organizers and attendees.
Since when is advocating for liberty and free markets racist? To the radical left, anything that goes against their politically correct narrative apparently must be attacked as “racist” or “bigoted.”
While screaming “Nazi,” the protesters also seemed to forget that Shapiro is himself an Orthodox Jew.
Even the campus administration tried to derail the event, when the University allegedly “couldn’t find” a venue for Shapiro. Eventually, the administration said that the Shapiro event would need to take place in exile in the far removed East Campus at the St. Paul Center, with a far smaller capacity than main campus venues.
Finding main campus venues was a feat that was easily overcome for then Democratic Senator Al Franken, now under fire for sexual assault allegations, as well as the radical liberal Senator Elizabeth Warren, who both spoke at the University of Minnesota not long ago.
Still, despite rabid protesters and a biased administration, over 400 attendees turned out to hear Shapiro’s pro-capitalism and pro-free speech message.
“This type of stuff is happening at campuses across the country and shows the growing left wing bias of university administrators,” said Shapiro, “however conservatives need to continue fighting back and demand their first amendment rights be upheld.”

George Orwell put it best: “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.”
The brave CFACT students who put on this event, despite the visceral opposition from their peers and campus authorities, deserve our utmost respect and thanks.
Their commitment to fighting for the truth gives me incredible hope for the upcoming generation.
